Violent expulsion of Jews from Tapuach West completely unnecessary cruelty and waste of millions

A violent expulsion order against Jews on Tapuach West's Tal Binyamin community left five Jews in the hospital, ten houses destroyed and four families ousted from homes that they have been living in for the last two decades. Saturday night thousands of troops and cops converged on the hill in a military operation that cost millions of dollars. The hundreds of Jews who came to protest the expulsion were outnumbered and surprised when the troops commenced the operation by shooting shock-grenades at them. The police also went far beyond the court order which authorized the expulsion from the houses that were located on disputed land allegedly owned by private Arabs from the nearby Islamic Jihad occupied town of Yassouf. Police raided additional homes that were not part of the court order, causing havoc and destruction in homes that had nothing to do with the court ruling.

Residents pleaded to no avail with the authorities to allow them to move their homes to nearby undisputed state land. The local civil administration refused to make room for any form of compromise, destroying any home left on the disputed land, as well as homes that had already been moved onto the state land.

Small but vocal spontaneous protests erupted throughout Israel at more than a dozen intersections, where Jewish youth took to the streets and blocked traffic to protest Jewish expulsion of fellow Jews.
