Bulldozer Protest Against destruction of Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in Yitzhar - I was there

Dear List, amv"sh

We were there, my husband, daughter and her friend waiting for that bulldozer to arrive.

School was over and camp did not start yet.  But I wasn't going to miss this Bulldozer protest since I knew what was at stake.  I sent out emails galore to Jewish Media and my entire list.  I was sure that there would be a large crowd.  So in over 90 degrees weather I went by subway with my 9 year old daughter and her 7 year old friend into Manhattan.  I told many of my friends.

As Helen Freedman from Afsi wrote the bulldozer didn't come.   But neither did hundreds of thousands of Jews.  True the weather was unbearably hot. True it would disrupt the daily routine especially the week everyone was getting ready for camp or the country (Catskills) .

My first reaction was I'm a failure. Nobody reads my emails.  I am ignored by all the major Jewish organizations.  I am ignored by the Jewish media. Where were our friends like Chabad or Young Israel? After all it's Rabbi Ginsburg's yeshiva who is Chabad. Young Israel has been in constant contact with Od Yosef Chai and sending out alerts of the situation.

Everyone has a decent excuse but collectively there was a poor showing. I debated with myself, maybe activism isn't worth my time, energies and efforts.   Surely there are other important items that need my attention as a Mother of 4 children who are all home and back from Israel.    But then I said to myself, this silence is a true Chillul Hashem.  What is Hashem thinking right now.  Truly He must be disappointed in us.  Why are His people so Silent?  Surely, He must be losing patience.  But then I thought about Helen Freedman and all her efforts and I thought of Glenn Richter who was there (The father of Soviet Jewry who was a major force in opening up the Iron Curtain) and the  25 people or so that came, willing to be Moser Nefesh for their brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel and all over the world. Hiring that bulldozer and flatbed wasn't free.  And I thought to myself that this group is like the courageous Jews in Judea and Samara who are carrying the burden for everyone else.

I concluded. Luckily for the rest of Am Yisroel, Hashem saw us and that we were out there protesting, walking in the very hot son and surely he looked upon us kindly and with understanding and with graciousness and thinking if we are patient with our fellow Jews, have Erech Apayim, one of G-ds' 13 Attributes,  believing that one day soon iy"h they too will show publicly that they care about G-ds precious gift Eretz Yisroel, Hashem  is hopefully willing to wait a bit more for His people Am Yisroel to wake up.

Again, I beseech the Jewish media to report that emails went out to the major Jewish organizations.   Why is this important for you to report this? Major Jewish Organizations are concerned with their image.  What get's reported counts.   What is in the News creates the News. And we have the potential to stop this destruction in a few days Chas Veshalom.

Dear Media people:  The major Jewish Organizations have extensive databases and networks of members, Shuls, Yeshivoth and Rabbanim. Please call their offices and let them know that you want to know why they weren't there at this protest and what they are doing to stop the destruction of this shul and Yeshiva High school. . It is not enough to merely empathize..   Please, journalists, do your hishtadlus, and for the sake of Am Yisroel and peace in the world, do not allow others to hide behind this veil of Silence thereby perpetuating this deafening Silence.

Lenny Solomon's song Rav Zechariah, about Rav Zecharia ben Avkulas, from the album Shlock Rock no limits song item 11 about the story of Kamtza and Bar Kamtza as I remember the lyrics (not exact)

Rav Zecharia how can you be so blind, had you made the right choices you could have stopped this tragedy  Rav Zechariah, your humbleness was profound, this is the reason, the Temple was burnt down.

The truck never arrived at the consul office!  We waited in the hot sun and never saw the bulldozer.  It was actually ticketed before it was turned away and sent back.  CHUTZPAH!

In order to protest the disgraceful demolition plans of the Israeli government for the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva in Yitzhar, Israel, Americans For a Safe Israel/AFSI planned a demonstration for Monday, June 28, in front of the Israeli Consulate on Second Ave. & 42nd Street. We hired a bulldozer on a flatbed to be driven into Manhattan and to be parked in front of the Consulate while demonstrators chanted, waved Israeli and American signs, and carried signs.

It was 92 degrees in New York's summer heat, and 25 stalwart supporters of Americans For a Safe Israel responded to AFSI's call for the demonstration.  They assembled across from the Israeli Consulate, on Second Avenue.  Israeli and American flags were draped on the barricades. Our signs read: BARAK/BIBI, DO NOT BULLDOZE OD YOSEF CHAI YESHIVA. APPEASING THE ENEMY IS SUICIDAL; BARAK/BIBI – BUILD! DON'T DESTROY JEWISH HOMES, SCHOOLS & SYNAGOGUES; BARAK/BIBI – THE JEWISH STATE MUST NOT DESTROY JEWISH HOMES, SCHOOLS & SYNAGOGUES.

We kept looking up Second Avenue for our truck and bulldozer, as passing cars honked their horns approvingly when they read our signs. The truck and bulldozer never arrived. Jack Ross, our AFSI member,  who had cleared the route with all the necessary police personnel, and had been with the truck all the way from Westchester, called to tell us that the police had detained the rig at Second Avenue and 55th Street in order to "inspect" it. It was clear that our truck had been singled out because it was part of our protest. Following the "inspection", we were notified that it had to be "measured." Following that we learned the truck had to be "weighed."  As delaying tactic piled one upon the other, a few of us decided to walk up to where the truck was parked. We walked the 13 blocks in the heat, to finally see our truck with the bulldozer on it. Sure enough, it was there, carrying our large signs: BARAK/BIBI – BUILD JEWISH HOMES, SCHOOLS, SYNAGOGUES – DON'T BULLDOZE THEM! APPEASING THE ENEMY WEAKENS ISRAEL; JEWS DON'T DESTROY JEWISH HOLY PLACES! STOP THE DEMOLITION OF YITZHAR SYNAGOGUE IN ISRAEL. We learned that the police had been tracking it from the very beginning of its trip. It was clearly safe enough to be on the highways and bridges of the city so that it was allowed onto the streets of Manhattan. Why it was stopped 13 blocks from its destination is an interesting question. It was clearly not usual police procedure since anyone living anywhere in the vicinity of New York City is aware of the huge amount of truck traffic that uses our roads, bridges, tunnels and streets.

Could the Israeli Consulate have been responsible for preventing the truck and bulldozer from being parked across from their offices? Could there have been an order from Israel's Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, to prevent New Yorkers from knowing the shameful truth about the political cowardice of  Barak and PM Bibi Netanyahu for ordering the demolition of a Jewish holy Yeshiva and Synagogue? Will we ever find out the truth about this violation of our First Amendment rights in NYC? Were the police "just following orders", and if so, who had issued them?

Please report this Bulldozer protest in your newspapers, send to your lists!  Each one of you is an individual with unlimited potential to reach the masses. All recipients on this list that have influence in major religious Jewish Organizations please forward to your lists. All Jews please..... Let us not  stand idly by at this disgrace and desecration of G-d's name, a destruction of a Makom Torah, a Shul, A Beit Medrash, a Chillul Hashem  that can still be prevented. Let us not  be Chayav Bidei Shamayim  held responsible in the courts in Heaven for our Silence. Let us show the government of Israel that we will  not tolerate another round of Gush Katif in Judea and Samaria.  No  destruction of synagogues unless it is for the purpose of renovation in order to enhance and build a much bigger and better Synagogue and not Mosque chas veChalila!.  The Arabs surely will take the destruction of our synagogue as an opening  to build a multi million dollar Mosque in its place as they are planning near the site of the World Trade Center. And they will laugh in our faces. "They will say, well didn't you yourself destroy your own synagogue! Surely it serves no purpose...."  How will we look at ourselves in the mirror then for allowing this to happen????????

Date/Time:   MONDAY, JUNE 28, NOON-2 P.M.,
Venue:         ISRAELI CONSULATE, 2ND AVE. & 42ND ST.

AFSI is leading a protest, Monday, June 28, noon to 2 PM,  at the Israeli Consulate, Second Avenue and 42nd Street, NYC, against Israeli government plans to destroy the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in Yitzhar, Israel.

To dramatize the disgraceful decision on the part of the Israeli government to destroy the Yeshiva on July 4, a  flat-truck and bulldozer will be driven south on Second Ave. to 42nd Street, in front of the Israeli Consulate.

The bulldozer will be moving slowly around the block and passing in front of the Consulate as often as possible, depending on traffic, etc. Signs and banners will emphasize that NEVER AGAIN must Israel take destructive action against its own Jews as it did five years ago in Gush Katif.  BULL-DOZING Jewish schools to appease Israel's enemies defies reason and morality.

Participating organizations are urged to notify their members to join in the protest. Those who wish may walk along the sidewalk carrying their signs, following the bulldozer on its path and spreading the message. It is essential that the evil demolition decree be revoked.

Letter to Agudath Yisroel of America. Please help us to Stop Destruction of Shul in Yitzhar Od Yosef Chai on July 4th!

Dear Distinguished Administrative Executive Members of Agudath Yisroel of America, amv"sh

Will Agudah be Silent regarding this matter?  Can Agudah please mobilize their network of shuls and Rabbanim to protest the destruction of the Od Yosef Chai Shul in Yitzhar?  Wouldn't Silence in this matter set a bad precedent and send a very bad message to the world at large regarding our willingness to allow such desecration and destruction to a shul and Beit Medrash to take place on Israel's soil?  Please join with Yesha Activists, Pesach Lerner and the Young Israel Movement ,  using Agudah's full  resources to raise the voice of Am Yisroel. Thank you and Gut Shabbos.

PS.  The terrible harassment in Emanual is similar to the the struggle in Yitzhar. The Eretz Yisrooel Hashleima Activists understand only too well what these Chareidim are experiencing and join in their struggle  The time has come to unite under the banner of Torah. Individually we can easily be broken but as an Agudah, one strong bundle, no one can divide us!

My mind  still suffers the burning Magen David Synogogue, the attack on Kever Yosef. Please DON'T shame us more and destroy Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva in Yitzar.  Israel cannot continue to destroy what world Jewry builds. I am a former Member of the Prime Ministers Club and cannot buy Israeli Bonds because the government is destroying what the government builds and endangering my children and grandchildren by increasing world anti-semitism by being an example of destroying Jewish holy places which no normal people would endure.
Stop the crime against Jewish learning and spreading hateful examples.
Let our people learn.
Let us teach and learn Jewish pride because when the world knew Yosef the world respected the Jewish people.
My brother a big donator to Israel will no longer buy bonds, give to the JNF or any organization that doesn't honor its  commitment to build Israel, its land and its schools.
It is difficult to be a donor when our donations are disregarded ignoring the love and difficulty of our sacrifices to help. If is difficult to be a proud Jew when the bulldozers come against our students, learning and what we built.
Please STOP this evil decree which may make more stop giving and hide from being involved in Jewish programs and charities in Israel.
Evelyn Hayes
By Rabbi Pesach Lerner, Executive Vice President,
National Council of Young Israel,

Dear Fellow Jews:
We cannot let a yeshiva/shul in Israel be destroyed. Allow me to explain.

The following article appeared on Arutz Sheva news on Sunday, May 9, 2010:

The IDF's Civilian Administration issued a demolition order Sunday against the spacious building that houses Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva at Yitzhar, in Samaria.

Local residents believe that authorities are purposely punishing the yeshiva because of a confrontation with the IDF that took place on Independence Day, and also because security forces hold the yeshiva's students responsible for various attacks against Arabs in recent months and years, including the burning of a carpet in a mosque at the nearby village of Yassuf.

"It turns out that the authorities are making special efforts to hurt the yeshiva in an unfair and vindictive way," a yeshiva spokesman said Sunday. "It should be noted that the building is an ornate permanent structure, with an area of 1,300 square meters, which was built with the aid of the Ministry of Housing and was approved by the various authorities to serve as an educational institution."

The destruction order, the residents said, cited an 11 year old work-stoppage order – one that they had never heard of until now. The building took years to build and cost over $1 million.

I could not believe what I was reading. How could it possibly be that in Israel, Jews were going to destroy a yeshiva/shul building?

As I researched the situation and tried to ascertain what exactly was transpiring, it seemed obvious that the Israeli government was using the pretext of a seemingly 11-year old building violation to punish the yeshiva and its students who seemingly have become a nuisance to the government.

But to destroy a yeshiva - a place of Tefillah and Torah study - in Israel? In the event that something was amiss and the situation had to be rectified, perhaps the individuals responsible should be held accountable, but to destroy a yeshiva is quite excessive.

Besides the Chilul Hashem, which is severe in its own right, what will we tell the Europeans the next time they want to destroy an old shul, for whatever reasons they may have? Does the Israeli government destroy a public school in Tel Aviv when its students are involved, chas v'shalom in some sort of wrongdoing?
I had planned to be in Israel that week, so upon my arrival, I contacted the Rosh HaYeshiva of the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva, which has been in Yitzhar for almost 10 years, since its original home, Joseph's Tomb in Shechem, was abandoned by the Israeli army and destroyed by the Arabs. Rabbi Yitzchok Shapira, the Rosh HaYeshiva, told me that the yeshiva had in fact received a demolition order, based on a violation from 11 years ago - a violation which they knew nothing about. (see attached copy of demolition order).

Rabbi Shapira invited me to visit the yeshiva and offered to have someone pick me up. I accepted the offer, and the next afternoon, I was picked up by Rabbi Dan Marans, whom I personally know in his capacity as the director of the Zomet Institute in Alon Shvut. We drove through the Shomron to the community of Yitzhar, which is on a strategic mountaintop, overlooking Har Greizim, quite a distance from the main road.

The yeshiva building, a beautiful multi-floored structure, stood away from the community, in its own space. The building was built entirely by Jewish workers, many of whom were former yeshiva students. The main study hall was large, the library was in the back, the lunchroom was on the lower level, and the yeshiva offices and classrooms were on the upper level. (please see attached pictures)

I met with the Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Yitzchok Shapira and the yeshiva director, Itamar Pozen. They shared with me the tzav harisa, the destruction order, and a package of documents proving their legal status (attached), and the fact that numerous departments in the Israeli government participated in the building of the yeshiva. How can we be illegal, they asked, if the government put in the infrastructure, if the government authorized the mortgage, etc.

We discussed their speculations as to why the government, 11 years after they claimed there was a building violation, was just now threatening to destroy the yeshiva building. Rabbi Shapira told me that the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva has been teaching its students for many years that every Jew must be "mutually responsible" for every other Jew. This movement of "mutual responsibility" threatens the government. They want us to stop promoting this idea so they are trying to distract and silence us by destroying our building

The idea that Jews would destroy yeshiva/shul buildings under any circumstances is reprehensible. If a European country threatened to destroy a shul under the pretext of a building code violation, Jews from all walks of life – Orthodox and non-Orthodox – would demand that the order be cancelled. The protests against such an inconceivable act would be loud and numerous.

During my visit to the yeshiva, I noticed large plaques with the names of two individuals who made large contributions to assist in the building of the yeshiva. I contacted both families and they each told me that prior to making donations to the yeshiva to help defray the costs of the construction, they had seen official documents verifying that the yeshiva had government approval to build.

I spoke to numerous roshei yeshiva and community rabbis in Israel, and they all agreed that Jews must not destroy yeshivas/shuls. I spoke to various Israeli government officials, all of whom could not understand how such an order could be given.

Dear friends, the yeshiva administration, the regional councils, etc., are all challenging this destructive order. Individuals within the government are asking questions, but we have a responsibility to do all that we can to ensure that this order gets overturned. We must publicly urge Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to forcefully and publically rescind this order. We cannot sit back and allow a yeshiva, a beautiful center of Torah and Tefillah, to be destroyed.

Each of us must send daily emails, send daily faxes, and make daily phone calls to the Prime Minister of Israel protesting this inconceivable action. People need to send letters to the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC and to the Israeli Consulate in New York.

We must demand that our community organizations, our rabbis, our entire community, speak out. We cannot allow this Chilul Hashem, this desecration of G-d's name, to take place. Please send an email, send a fax, and make a call, now. Tell the Prime Minister to protect the yeshiva building in Yitzhar and prevent it from being destroyed.

And, in the merit of our speaking out, of caring for our fellow Jews and our Torah institutions, may we merit Shalom al Yisrael, peace in Israel.

Jews are Indigenous Nation!

After years of being labelled a "non-Zionist" party, Shas - which represents a largely hareidi-religious Sephardic constituency - stunned many this year by officially defining itself as Zionist and requesting to join the World Zionist Organization, founded by Herzl in 1897...

Nissim Ze'ev, a Shas MK, said, "the Jewish people have the right to live in all parts of their indigenous homeland and to maintain and develop their religious and cultural identity as indigenous to the land. Our efforts will be implemented within Jewish communities in Israel and in the Diaspora..."

The United Nations currently recognizes as indigenous any nation that declares itself as such, and according to section 10 of the UN General Assembly's 2007 Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People, "indigenous peoples shall not be forcibly removed from their lands or territories. No relocation shall take place without the free, prior and informed consent of the indigenous peoples concerned."

The United Nations currently recognizes as indigenous any nation that declares itself as such, and according to section 10 of the UN General Assembly's 2007 Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People, "indigenous peoples shall not be forcibly removed from their lands or territories. No relocation shall take place without the free, prior and informed consent of the indigenous peoples concerned and after agreement on just and fair compensation and, where possible, with the option of return."

Israel fits all the criteria to be recognized internationally as indigenous natives to the Land of Israel, and the only current requirement is a public declaration from a representative body of the Jewish people, whether it be from Israel's Knesset, the WZO or even the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria .

"This is very significant with regard to the rights of all Jews in relation to their ancestral homeland," said Ze'ev. "It is especially significant for the Jewish residents of Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem and the Golan Heights who are constantly under the threat of forced expulsions from their lands."

Food for Thought. by Steven Shamrak

Easing blocked of Gaza by Israeli government is the dismal mistake! Concessions made by Israel have never been appreciated by so-called Palestinians and their anti-Semitic supporters, but just encouraged them to perform more anti-Israel stunts - like 'humanitarian' flotilla.

Peace Partner is Non-medicated Schizophrenic. Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas met with U.S. President Barack Obama on June 9 and spoke in favor of negotiations with Israel and "the path of peace." However, just two weeks earlier, Abbas told Vietnamese President Nyugen Minh Triet, "we are comrades in struggle and fighting."

Beehives from Biblical Israel. Recently discovered beehives from ancient Israel 3,000 years ago appear to be the oldest evidence for beekeeping ever found, scientists reported. Archaeologists identified the remains of honeybees  inside about 30 clay cylinders thought to have been used as beehives at the site of Tel Rehov in the Jordan valley in northern Israel.

'Poor Palestinians' Armed with Rockets. Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin said terror organizations in the Gaza Strip "continue to arm themselves, both through production and smuggling" and have some 5,000 rockets with a range of up to 40 km. Diskin warned that the steps embarked on by Binyamin Netanyahu and defense minister Ehud Barak to ease the Gaza siege gravely imperilled Israel's security.

Is it Time of Reckoning for Iran? An armada of 11 US warships and one Israeli vessel passed through the Suez Canal Friday June 18 on their way to the Persian Gulf . The fleet was led by the USS Harry Truman carrier and its Strike Group.

Another 'Friend' with 'Peaceful' Nuclear Ambition. King Abdullah of Jordan tells the Wall Street Journal that Israel is thwarting Jordan's nuclear goals in order to economically dwarf his country.

Weak Leadership is result of No Vision. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, submitted to US pressure for establishing an independent public probe of the flotilla incident and is also quietly falling back under the international clamour to ease the sea and land siege of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip by installing international supervisory mechanisms in place of the Israeli military and navy.

We Told you so. France has instructed the European satellite television company to prevent Hamas television to use its facilities because of inciteful programming against Israel (and Islamist propaganda). France is following a step taken by the United States.

Quote of the Week: "There are 1.5 million people living in Gaza and ONLY ONE of them really needs humanitarian aid; ONLY ONE of them is locked in a tiny room and never sees the light of day; ONLY ONE of them is not allowed visits and is uncertain health. His name is GILAD SHALIT!" - author unknown - ONLY ONE of them is not able to have freedom!

Saudi Arabia may Allow Israeli Jets to Pass. Sources in Saudi Arabia told The Times that Saudi defence officials had agreed that tensions between the two countries would be softened if Israel decided to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities, as both governments share a mutual loathing of the regime in Teheran and a fear of a possible build up of Iran's nuclear capabilities. (They hate and afraid of each other more than Jews!)

Time for Payback. A number of local supermarket chains are taking a political stand: They have decided to boycott products manufactured in Turkey . Rami Levy, owner of the chain of supermarkets, also decided to cut off ties: "For reasons of ideology and conscience, it would be unacceptable for us to do nothing when the Turkish people behave this way. This is the minimum that we can do."

Pakistan is an Integral part of Taliban. Pakistani military intelligence not only funds and trains Taliban fighters in Afghanistan but is officially represented on the movement's leadership council, giving it significant influence over operations. Nevertheless, senior Western officials have been reluctant to talk publicly on the subject for fear of damaging possible cooperation from Pakistan, a nuclear-armed state Washington has propped up with billions of dollars (bribe) in military and economic aid.

Paralised by Fear of International Backlash. 1) PM Ordered Us Not to Demolish Illegal Arab Buildings. Yair Ma'ayan, the General Manager of the Jerusalem Municipality , said that the reason demolition orders had not been carried out against dozens of illegally built Arab structures in the city was due to demands by the office of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to ignore the orders. 2) Jewish residents of eastern Jerusalem say police are not enforcing law and order in their neighbourhoods. One victim said that police told him that Arabs attacks are often for the purpose of forcing police to enter their neighbourhoods, and therefore police have been ordered not to be drawn into such areas.

Fatah is Against Lifting Gaza Blockade. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is opposed to lifting the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip because this would bolster Hamas.

Legality of Israel's Naval Blockade of Gaza.

Ed Morgan

A consolidated set of rules was issued in 1994 by the San Remo Institute of International Law in co-operation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and several national humanitarian law societies...

A naval blockade is defined in Article 7.71 of the U.S. Naval Handbook as "a belligerent operation to prevent vessels and/or aircraft of all nations, enemy as well as neutral, from entering or exiting specified ports, airfields, or coastal areas belonging to, occupied by, or under the control of an enemy nation (governing entity of Gaza - Hamas)." It is designed to stop ships from crossing a cordon separating the enemy's coast from the high seas. It is therefore often enforced in what would otherwise be international waters approaching, but not necessarily inside, the territorial sea of the blockaded party.

The San Remo conference set the specific rules for implementing a blockade. It must be publicly declared and notification sent to all states whose vessels are likely to be nearby. Further, the blockade must be effective. International law permits no fictitious blockade designed to frighten away third-party ships. The San Remo rules also specify that a blockade be applied with impartiality to all states whose flagged ships enter the blockaded area. (The Turkish Jahadists of IHH not exception to the rule!)

A maritime blockade is for security purposes only, and must allow humanitarian assistance to the civilian population. Since the ships sailing for Gaza were on a declared humanitarian mission, those on board had the right to expect that any humanitarian goods would ultimately find their way to their intended recipients. On the other hand, having announced its blockade, Israel had no obligation to take the ships' crew at their word as to the nature of the cargo.

Finally, the rule of proportionate force, applicable to all armed conflict, applies equally to a naval blockade. Blockading navies are obliged to arrest a ship rather than simply fire on it, and once its soldiers are on board an arrested ship their actions must be proportionate to the threat that they meet. (Being attacked with metal rods and knives IDF commandos could not use paint-ball guns they had in hands in order to protect their own lives, could they?)

re: Orders to imprison Mothers in Emanuel Please daven from them at Shabbat Candle Lighting

under the instructions of Rabbanim Shlita

All Righteous Jewish Women are requested to Daven at candle lighting time bringing in the H-ly Sabbath, for the mothers in Emanuel whose threat of incarceration this coming week is hovering over their heads as a result of a decision by Judge Edmond Levi.

Please forward this request to all women without exception before Shabbos.

With Thanks and With Blessings

Shabbat Shalom

Many of you are aware of the Battle in Emanuel whereby  the Secular Israeli courts have ruled to  coerce the parents of a Chareidi school in Emmanuel to accept students whose families  have different religious standards.  The parents refused and instead took out their girls and opened up a new school.  In response the courts ordered the parents to jail.  The Fathers went and the mothers didn't since someone needs to take care of their large families.  Now the mothers are under threat of incarceration. The secular media have slandered, denigrated and maligned  the parents of this school, many of whom are  of Ashkenazic Slonim Chareidi lineage and have reported that they are being racist towards the Sephardic community.  It's obvious that this is not the case in this school because 20% of their student body is  Sephardic who happen to be comfortable with the religious standards of the school (e.g. wearing buttons up to the neck, no internet or TV etc. praying their Nusach etc).

This is not a matter of racism.  This is a matter of irreligious coercion of the secular courts in Israel. Apparently, the courts feel that if the school received money from the government for their educational institution, then they must abide to the "educational guidelines"  of the State and the States laws.  It is a scenario commonly used by leftist and anti-religious groups whereby they "promote diversity" and "multiculturalism" where they force you to be "diverse" and multicultural  at the risk of  destroying your own identity and individuality. Basically you must fit into their mold.  Then they control any freedom of expression so that your voice will not be heard since they claim that you can not tolerate any diversity basically their set of values as opposed to your set of values.

Similar irreligious courts in Israel have incarcerated young girls in the Nationalist camp in the past for their refusal to accept the jurisdiction of  the secular courts regarding their "misdeeds" of defending our rights to all of Eretz Yisroel.  These girls insisted that they wanted  a Torah court of Law to rule on their case.  Refusing to accept the authority of the irreligious secular courts in Israel is a crime where one is guilty  bringing with it a sentence of incarceration before trial and sentencing.

While you are praying for these women at Kabbalat Shabbat please also daven that the court (a different secular court) to rescind its orders to destroy the shul in Yitzhar slated for July 4th!

Please pass this around, to help assure that people will continue to bear witness to this evil legacy.

This Album is from May 1944 Hungary.  At this point American Jews knew what was happening and did not do enough to raise H-ll to the American gov't to bomb the train tracks.  Rabbi Weissmandl was brokenhearted when he cried in desperation to raise money to save the lives of Hungarian Jews, he was met with cruel Silence.   Peter Bergson organized  400 Rabbis march but was vilified by the mainstream Jewish community.  . activism was not joined by others!  So Hungarian Jews including my aunts and uncles and grandparents  perished when others who could have prevented it from happening were Silent.

Please read about Weissmandl and the unheeded cry:  In 1938 activism could have changed matters and  maybe millions  could have been saved.

Bayamim Haheim Bizman Hazeh - In those Days in Our Days......

Recently in the 5 Times Jewish Times front page story, David Ha'Ivri told Larry Gordon on Page 14 cont from page 1, issue 29 Sivan 5770 "that since 1997 the office in the American Consulate that oversees the territories has provided over $4 BILLION funding for Palestinian projects and absolutely nothing for projects related to Jewish communities. That is American Tax Payers money!  Shouldn't Agudah address this unethical way of spending American Tax Payers monies along side their seminars on Business ethics and the requirements according to Halacha  to pay taxes as per the law of the Land.  Why should Jewish taxpayer monies go to paying our enemies to educate their children to do Jihad against us?  Why is there no outcry by our major religious Jewish Organizations regarding the following Statement by the White House 3 days ago?

Subject: Statement by the White House
Press Secretary on Israel's announcement on Gaza

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
June 20, 2010
Statement by the Press Secretary on Israel's announcement on Gaza

The President has described the situation in Gaza as unsustainable and has
made clear that it demands fundamental change. On June 9, he announced that
the United States was moving forward with $400 million in initiatives and
commitments for the West Bank and Gaza. The President described these
projects as a down payment on the U.S. commitment to the people of Gaza, who
deserve a chance to take part in building a viable, independent state of
Palestine, together with those who live in the West Bank. These
announcements resulted from consultations with the Palestinian Authority
President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

Today, the United States welcomes the new policy towards Gaza announced by
the Government of Israel, which responds to the calls of many in the
international community.  Once implemented, we believe these arrangements
should significantly improve conditions for Palestinians in Gaza, while
preventing the entry of weapons. We will work with Israel, the Palestinian
Authority, the Quartet, and other international partners to ensure these
arrangements are implemented as quickly and effectively as possible and to
explore additional ways to improve the situation in Gaza, including greater
freedom of movement and commerce between Gaza and the West Bank.  There is
more to be done, and the President looks forward to discussing this new
policy, and additional steps, with Prime Minister Netanyahu during his visit
to Washington on July 6.

We strongly re-affirm Israel's right to self-defense, and our commitment to
work with Israel and our international partners to prevent the illicit
trafficking of arms and ammunition into Gaza.  As we approach the fourth
anniversary of the capture of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, we call again
for his immediate release, and condemn the inhumane conditions of his

We believe that the implementation of the policy announced by the Government
of Israel today should improve life for the people of Gaza, and we will
continue to support that effort going forward. We urge all those wishing to
deliver goods to do so through established channels so that their cargo can
be inspected and transferred via land crossings into Gaza.  There is no need
for unnecessary confrontations, and we call on all parties to act
responsibly in meeting the needs of the people of Gaza.

and $20,000,000 for Hamas Refugees to America!  HR 1388 PASSED !!

Today, Evelyn Haze sent me this email.::

You just spent $20,000,000 to move members/supporters of Hamas, a terrorist organization, to the United States; they get housing, food, the whole enchilada.
Whether you are an Obama fan, or not,
EVERYONE IN THE US needs to know.....
Something happened... H.R. 1388 was passed, behind our backs. You may want to read about it.. It wasn't mentioned on the news. Just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN
Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the USA . This is the news that didn't make the headlines...
By Executive Order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in Gaza.
The "presidential determination," which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States, was signed and appears in the Federal Register.
Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.
Let's review....itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since his inauguration:
His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.
His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.
He ordered Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.
He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.
He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.
Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees to move to, and live in, the US at American taxpayer expense.
These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

WE are losing this country at a rapid pace.
United STates is SO UNETHICAL IN SPENDING OUR HARD EARNED TAX MONEY!!!!!  There is nothing wrong with Business ethics but this is not a one way street. It is time to go on the OFFENSIVE.  Rubashkin and his ethical conduct is not the problem!  Outrageous! 27 years imprisonment for  "bank fraud" and we know the banks were fully aware?  Ask his attorney Nat Lewin.  Why are we  apologetic after they destroyed his business selectively for offenses that were common in the industry?  Perhaps he and fellow Jews are guilty of something seemingly unrelated.

Perhaps Rubashkin  is being the Karbon of Silent Jewry who was silent when Jonathan Pollard rots in Jail and Gush Katif  homes  were destroyed creating refugees and bringing the communities in financial hardships and ruin with Sderot is being bombarded with Kassam rockets and Beit Hashalom is Judenrein and Federman's house destroyed. There is resounding Silence from Agudath Yisroel  when Judea and Samaria is frozen not to mention freezing suburbs of Jerusalem. Har Habayit is not even considered aJewish Heritage site.  Who reminds us about our ties to the Holy Land Israel?  It's the rosecutors of Iowa who tell him you can not  be released on bail because you might escape to Israel!  And our response is Rubashkin has  no intention of escaping.  But Prosecutors can not t believe him because they understand that a Jews place is in Israel and not America.

In October 2088 Renanah Goldher a researcher and student of Rabbi Weissmandl sent me this information about Rabbi Weissmandl:

On May 15, 1944 the expulsions from Hungary began. The next day Rabbi Weissmandl wrote to the Jewish leaders of the number of trains scheduled daily, the number of persons in each train and in each boxcar, the route, conditions and terrain along it, and of the extermination processes in Auschwitz with sketches and maps showing the gas chambers and the guard towers as they would appear from the air.  He wrote:
"that is the order of events in Auschwitz to which starting from yesterday, 12,000 Jewish souls – men, women, and children, the old, the sick and the healthy – will be taken daily to be choked, to be burned and to be manure for the fields.   And you, brother Jews!  And you, ministers of state in all countries!  How can you keep quiet at this murder in which up till now some six million Jews have already been murdered and even now tens of thousands more are being killed every day? From the desolation in their souls, the murdered Jews cry out to you: 'You are cruel! You are murderers, because of your cruel silence and because you do nothing!  Surely, you can do something to object and stop it – now!'  therefore, in the name of the blood of the millions and the tears of the millions, we beg you, we pleas with you, we claim and demand of you: do something immediately.....Brother Jews!  Have you gone mad….Who is the giver?  You, who give a few pennies from your lofty pedestals, or we who are giving blood and tears in the depths?...Who gave you permission to ask us for accounts and budgets as though we were negotiating for clothes or other items before you give us one ten-thousandth of what we need…"

if you can, never forget this...when Israel attacks Iran , we MUST support them

A black chapter in world history... mans inhumanity to man. Keep this going and going and going lest we do forget sometime in the future. I don't know how God could forgive such blatant brutality
This Album memorializes the arrival of Hungarian Jews to Auschwitz in May of 1944.

It is the only one of its kind, and it is solely due to this album that we have a visual history of what occurred in the Auschwitz-Birchenau death camp.

The album was discovered after the war by an Auschwitz survivor, Lily Jacob, who donated it to Yad Vashem in 1980.

Now, with the aid of the Internet, it can be viewed by millions of people, anywhere in the world.

Re: Urgent outcry needed by OU, Agudath, rabbis to stop demolition of Israeli Govt built yeshiva in Yitzar

This email is being sent  TO: major Jewish religious Organizations, Conference of Presidents, major religious Jewish Print Media, Rabbanim, CC:d to Hesder Yeshivoth and BCC:d to my email list and blog

"WE SHARE IN THEIR PAIN" after the fact is hypocrisy when we have the chance to prevent the pain and we didn't.

Let us prevent the pain NOW before it is a reality

It  takes approximately 1 hour if that much to destroy a shul.  It can happen in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping. This is a test to see how much Jews care about their fellow Jews in the Shomron.

Where is the outcry at the impending destruction of a shul?

Let the media report that we are begging our major Jewish Organizations, and Rabbanim  to take a public stand regarding this matter and use all their networking and databases of contacts, shuls and Rabbanim to stop this destruction in Yitzhar.  Let their readership know that there are activists out there that are very upset at the Silence of the Rabbanim and the major religious Jewish Organizations for being Silent in their brothers time in need.  We are relying on the Religious Jewish Media to report our disappointment in our Jewish Leadership and that we expect better and we know and believe that they are very capable and we know they are capable of voicing their opposition in a public way that will stop any such action.  Only an outcry and the Areivus, intervention of Am Yisroel united can stop these evil decrees.

Each and everyone of us can send an email or make a telephone call regarding this matter thereby increasing the pressures on our Leadership to take on more of a leadership role.

Subject: Will the OU ask the Israeli government to cease and desist from
demolition of a Yeshiva?

Dear Rabbi Weil, Rabbi Safran, Rabbi Weil and all other rabbinical leaders,
I believe the request below is a very important one and I do not want Yitzhar Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva  destroyed. It is achilul HaShem and it will further denigrate Jews all over the world and increase anti-semistism because Jew bashing Jews is okay for the Jews so why shouldn't it be for the enemies of the Jews. We have already suffered the increase in anti-semitism to world wide proportions because of Jews delegitimizing themselves and attacking "settlers"'.  Remember HaShem told Abraham to "settle" the land and no longer sojourn. As we are no longer wandering why has the abuser turned into the politicians in the independent nation of Israel reformed with a miracle and a blessing ?
As anti-semitism has increased to effect  Jews everywhere, we must remember the wise words of  Sir Moses Montefiore, "Whatever happens to Jews anywhere in the world effects Jews everywhere in the world." Sir Moses Montefiore intervened in the Damascus affair in 1841. Our leaders must interefere in the Yitzhar Yeshiva affair in 2010 because a possible destruction will lead to further destructions effecting every synagogue and every Jew. It will shame Bnei Yisael. It denies the roots of our Judaism. It is what happened in pogrom times. Attacking a yeshiva and not illegal Arab building even by foreign enemies even in Jerusalem is working for the goals of the enmey who wants to destroy Israel and the Jewish people everywhere.
As we scream against silence and shout "never again", it is time to focus on speaking up and getting involved in damage control today.
Let our students learn. Remember, when they knew not Yosef, Egypt enslaved the Jews. Remember Yosef. Save Yosef in the land Yaakov bought near Kever Yosef. Save Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva.

Yesterday, the Israeli government announced its decision to demolish the Od
Yosef Chai Yeshiva under the pretext of a building permit violation:,7340,L-3887165,00.html

The urgent question:

Will the OU lodge a protest with the government of Israel to cease and desist
from demolition of a yeshiva (which cost it over $1,000,000), and will the OU urge its members to do so?

There is no question that the Israeli government would back off under pressure.
