As the Organizational Directors of Agudath Yisroel of America I would like to present a series of 7 steps of what I as a Yesha activist would like from Agudath Yisroel of America. This particular open letter to Agudath Yisroel of America addresses the most important of all the other steps. Without it nothing will be of much consequence. Let me call this first Step "Mir Daf Vellin", "We must desire the Land".
I have heard from many that this generation is the Gilgul, reincarnation of the Dor Hamidbar, the Generation in the Desert. If this be the case, then the test of this generation is to be metaken, correct the Sin of the Spies.
Many Chareidim were against the expulsion from Gush Katif and are against a Palestinian State. Let us join forces in order to become an Agudah, an unbreakable bundle, that speaks out strongly for the Torah and Hashem's gift to Am Yisroel, Eretz Yisroel.
Step 1: MIR DAF VELLEN! This in Yiddish means we need to desire our Holy Land.
My Satmer Aunt Tante Chanchi z"l whose yahrzeit is around now, she was niftar one year ago, was my strongest support system while I lived in Kiryat Arba as a single girl in the 80's. She used to tell me KODEM KOL MIR DAF VELLEN. The first step to getting married is the desire to do so.
Living in Galus is like living in a relationship where the wife is not totally committed to her husband. (as depicted in the Naviim). She strays to others that can never compare to her real husband who continues to love her and looks out for her well being no matter how deeply she sins..
Our relationship with Hashem needs to be one of a committed marriage. Hashem has chosen us. We are obligated to keep the Mitzvoth. This consummate union, of Am Yisroel living on the Land and observing the Mitzvoth, ultimately benefits the entire world with peace and prosperity. Otherwise we must fear Hashem's wrath and retribution on Am Yisroel Chas veshalom and her false lovers.
At times Silence is a sin of Lashon Hara. It is for the sin of Silence of the Rabbanim (See Gemara about Kamtza and Bar Kamtza) that the Gemara says the 2nd Beis Hamikdash was destroyed.
The Miraglim considered themselves as grasshoppers, incapable of making a difference. The spirit of Chevron gave the strength to Calev Ben Yefunah and to Yehoshua ben Nun.
The fate of Yehudah and the Shomron is in our hands. Our Hishtadlus. This will bring Peace and Security as is promised by Hashem in the Torah. But first we need to desire the Land and the Mitzvoth enough, with unity of Hamonei Am, in order that our Hishtadlus is worthy of being accepted by Hashem in order to engage His intervention to fight our enemies..
Let us then Pray to really desire the Land with all our heart and soul and to merit to keep and fulfill the entire Torah including the commandments of the Land, in the Land with Love!
Ahavas Olam, (Nusach Sfard).Baavur Avoseinu Shebatchu Becha...In the merit of our forefathers that trusted in You Hashem, [Avrahom, Yitzchok and Yaakov Avinu with whom Your Covenant was made, to give them and their seed the Land], and to whom You taught them the decrees of Life to do Your will wholeheartedly, may You be gracious to us and teach us. Our Father who acts mercifully, have mercy upon us and instill in our hearts understanding to understand, and to comprehend, to listen, to learn and to teach, to observe, to perform and to fulfill all the words of the teachings of Your Torah with love. Enlighten our eyes in Your Torah, attach our hearts to Your commandments, and unify our hearts to love and to fear Your Name, so that we not be ashamed nor humiliated nor stumble for ever and ever. ... (Inner shame is what one feels deep within himself when he knows he has done wrong - even though the people around him may sing his praises. The cost of such shame is borne primarily in the World to Come, where it can diminish ones eternal bliss or even destroy it entirely. Therefore we pray that our eternity not be marred by inner shame. At the end of this Bracha preceding the Shema we gather the four Tzitzis in our hands and say,
Hurry and bring us blessing and peace speedily from the four corners of the earth, break the yoke of he nations from upon our necks, and guide us speedily with upright pride to OUR LAND. For the G-d Who performs salvation are YOU. And us, You have chosen from among all peoples and tongues. ....Blessed are You Hashem Who chooses His people Israel with love.

"אני נלחם רק נגד הרוח האנטי דתית של ההתיישבות החדשה, כי הארץ הקדושה צריכה להבנות בקדושה... אמרתי לד"ר ווייצמן: אם "מפני חטאנו גלינו מארצנו", איך הוא מתאר לעצמו שיבה לארץ וגאולתה מחדש בלי תורה ובלי אמונה...
"- יש אומרים, העירותי כאילו כדי לקנטרו, ודוקא בשם הרב, שיהודי דתי אסור לו לעלות לארץ ישראל. הזדקף רבי חיים וקולו נעשה יותר צלול ותקיף, והכריז: "חס וחלילה, דוקא היהודים הדתיים מחוייבים לעלות ולבנות את הארץ על טהרת הקודש, כי הארץ מחכה להם שיגאלוה משוממותה". ועל האחרים, המשיך רבי חיים, כתוב "ובא לציון גואל ולשבי פשע ביעקב" - מקודם תהיה הגאולה ואחר כך יחזרו החוטאים בתשובה, ואני מאמין שכל חלוץ המשתתף בבנין הארץ, תעמוד לו זכות ארץ ישראל שיזכה לחזור בתשובה. הלא גם אלה שעלו מבבל בימי עזרא ונחמיה לא היו צדיקים גמורים, כמסופר בספרי הקודש שחללו את השבתות והמועדים, ובכל זאת נבנה בית המקדש על ידם וחזרו בתשובה...".
הגידו ליהודים: "חיסלו עסקיכם ועלו לארץ"!
"כשבאו לקבל ברכת פרידה, לפני שובם לארצם, שאלוהו חברי המשלחת, מה עליהם למסור בשמו לקהלת קלויזנבורג הגדולה. קם מורנו מכסאו, וכדרכו בשעה של התרגשות, השעין כפות ידיו על שולחנו ואמר: "הגידו לכל היהודים בקלויזנבורג ובגלילותיה... כי עתה הוא הזמן לחסל את העסקים ולעלות מיד לארץ ישראל, ואין לחכות יותר".
