Rabbi Haim Druckman, head of the Bnei Akiva yeshivas and one of the leaders of religious Zionism, came out today (Monday) with the first and most severe statement regarding GSS interrogations of the detainees in the Duma affair.

"I am shocked and hurt and ashamed of the torture that the Shin Bet used in interrogations of the youths, including minors," says the Rabbi. "Confessions as a result of such interrogations are not even worth a penny. Who gives backing to such cruelty ?! "

Rabbi Druckman gave a video interview (see link on a7) to the chairman of the organization, Honi Shmuel (Zengi) Meidad, and asked that the video be widely heard, after thinking about the subject for a long time. 

It should be recalled that recently it was revealed that the Central District Attorney's Office informed the court that it was waiving the confessions of the defendants in interrogations in which "special means" were used, referring to torture.

Dozens of city Rabbis, Yeshiva Rabbis and Yeshiva Heads to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, demanded that the legal process in the Duma case be stopped and that a commission of inquiry be established.

Attorney Zion Amir, who represented the minor in the case, said during the trial that he hopes the facts and testimonies given by Shin Bet agents will be revealed: "The public will be shocked by how deeply an investigation was conducted against a young minor who is not charged with murder, but with being connected with the murder but not the murder itself. Somehow, an investigation was conducted, which consisted entirely of threats and the use of violent means in all forms and in all kinds of ways. This is shocking to the mind, it is impossible to accept an investigation conducted in such a manner in a democratic society. נזכיר כי לאחרונה נחשף כי פרקליטות מחוז מרכז, הודיעה לביהמ"ש כי היא מוותרת על הודאות הנאשמים שנגבו בחקירות בהן הופעלו "אמצעים מיוחדים", כאשר הכוונה לעינויים.

עשרות רבני ערים, רבני ישובים וראשי ישיבות לראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו ולשרת המשפטים איילת שקד בדרישה כי ההליך המשפטי בתיק דומא ייעצר וכי תוקם ועדת חקירה.

עו"ד ציון אמיר, שייצג את הקטין בתיק מסר בזמן משפט הזוטא כי הוא מקווה שהעובדות והעדויות שנאמרו ע"י אנשי השב"כ ייחשפו: "הציבור אמור להזדעזע זעזוע עמוק מאוד כיצד התנהלה חקירה כלפיי קטין צעיר לימים, שלא מואשם ברצח, מואשם בקשר לכך אבל לא ברצח. באיזה אופן התנהלה חקירה שכל כולה איומים והפעלת אמצעים אלימים בכל מיני צורות ובכל מיני אופנים. הדבר הזה מזעזע את הנפש, אי אפשר להשלים עם חקירה שמתנהלת באופן כזה בחברה דמוקרטית, אני מאוד מקווה שביהמ"ש בסופו של יום יאמר את דברו בסוגיות המהותיות האלה".
