May we continue to experience success in our endeavors! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Attempted Murder of Rabbi Yehuda Glick Today's focus is on the attempted murder of Rabbi Yehuda Glick by a Palestinian terrorist in Jerusalem. Much has been written about the assassination attempt, Yehuda himself, and the magnificent work he is doing at the Temple Institute in Jerusalem. We have also read about the terrorist, a Palestinian Arab who worked at a restaurant at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center where Yehuda was shot, and who supposedly had been vetted by Israeli security. We will not be linking to articles about this, but declare once again, as we have time and again, that it is time to restore the sovereignty of Israel over the Temple Mount, and more fully over all of Jerusalem. Now is the time to shout - Yisrael Shleimah - All of Israel - is ours. Here is a summary of events: - Rabbi Glick spoke last night at the Begin Institute at an event for Jewish rights on the Temple Mount. - Outside and after the event, he was approached by a man on a scooter speaking Hebrew with an Arab accent. Once this man confirmed Yehuda's identity, he shot him several times in the chest and stomach. Yehuda was rushed to the hospital for surgery and is now in serious condition but has improved slightly. - Early today, Israeli Special Forces eliminated the 32 year old Islamic Jihad terrorist after he resisted arrest. - Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. - Israeli security and police forces closed the Temple Mount to both Jews and Arabs; this closure is still in effect. - PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas called the closing "a declaration of war on the Palestinian people". (Two weeks ago Abbas called for Palestinian Arabs to stop Jews from ascending the Temple Mount "by all means" He also said, "This is our Aqsa...and they have no right to enter it and desecrate it." He then called the Jews "a herd of cattle.") And this: - The United States State Department spokesperson stated today, "We're extremely concerned by escalating tensions across Jerusalem and particularly surrounding the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount. It is absolutely critical that all sides exercise restraint, refrain from provocative actions and rhetoric, and preserve the status quo in - on the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount in word and in practice. It must be reopened to Muslim worshippers." (emphasis added) Yes, you read that last bullet correctly. THE US STATE DEPARTMENT MADE NO MENTION OF THE RIGHT OF JEWS TO WORSHIP ON THE TEMPLE MOUNT. ONLY MUSLIMS! Actually, we have no reason to be surprised. This has been the active policy of the Israeli government since Moshe Dayan gave the keys to Har Habayit to the Muslims. As is frequently the case, we have only ourselves to blame. And finally: The following is a press release from Women in Green, reacting to the terror attack against Yehuda Glick, head of the Temple Mount Loyalists. AFSI echoes this message and prays for a speedy recovery.
Jerusalem has been abandoned. The Temple Mount is being defiled. 1. Haaretz Cartoon 2. Sweden Recognizes "State of "Palestine" The news is heating up. Here are two hot items: 1. The ultra-leftist Israeli newspaper Haaretz sunk to a new low by publishing a cartoon critical of PM Netanyahu. In the cartoon, Netanyahu is piloting an airplane about to fly into one of NYC's World Trade Center towers. This is purportedly an attempt by the newspaper to illustrate the tension between the Prime Minister and the US administration, especially in light of the recently published article by Jeffrey Goldberg in the Atlantic.

2. Pathetic: Sweden became the first major Western country to recognize a "Palestinian" state. After the declaration Israel recalled its ambassador from that nation. As Israeli Foreign Minister Liberman stated, "Stockholm needs to understand relations in the Middle East are more complicated than self-assembly furniture at IKEA." We continued protesting last night in front of the Metropolitan Opera before the showing of "The Death of Klinghoffer". At least 30 individuals braved the weather to march, hand out flyers, and engage passersby in dialogue about the opera, including those going to see it.
The next protest will be Wednesday, November 5. We will be assembling in front of the steps to Lincoln Center at Columbus Avenue and West 64 Street at 5:30 PM, and the opera starts at 7:30 PM. Please join us - our voices are being heard!
