Robin,
I hope you were all able to survive, despite the government being shut down for all of Monday morning. We were told millions would die, but I hope they managed to hold on until lunch time without Uncle Sam to give them mouth-to-mouth.
In the meantime, if you're wondering why Chuck Schumer gave up holding the government hostage and folded like a cheap card table, here's one unsurprising answer: the polls terrified him. A Democrat super PAC commissioned a quick poll in 12 battleground states, and it turned out voters weren't too keen on the idea of holding up military pay and poor children's health insurance funding to try to extort citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants. Chuck's priorities might be out of whack, but at least he hasn't forgotten the politician's #1 priority: getting reelected.

Fingers crossed

By Mike Huckabee
A Democratic pollster actually has a suggestion for President Trump that he believes would make him wildly popular and prevent future government shutdowns: make it so all future shutdowns cut off Congressional paychecks.

Maeve gets it

I'm a little concerned today about CNN political reporter Maeve Reston, who may have caused irreparable damage to her career by admitting the truth on-air: that all CNN talks about is the hysterical "Russian collusion" narrative, and outside the DC media bubble, nobody cares.

Great Moments in Loony PC Virtue-Signaling

By Mike Huckabee
L'Oreal Paris is congratulating itself for showing diversity and inclusion by paying actual money to run an ad for shampoo featuring a Muslim model wearing a hijab. You know: a scarf that completely covers her head. The message is that she cares about her hair, even though nobody can see it. Which is fine for her, I guess, except…isn't L'Oreal supposed to be selling shampoo? And toward that end, shouldn't the people they're trying to sell shampoo to be able to see the hair model's hair?
This is sort of like Chevrolet showing us a picture of a garage and assuring us that there's a new Camero in there, and the guy who owns it really likes it.

Huck's criminal mastermind

By Mike Huckabee
Today's Huck's Criminal Mastermind proves the old adage that "fools' names and fools' faces often appear in public places." And thanks to social media, they appear in public places 24/7.
Florida rapper "Kodak Black" (Dieuson Octave) was already on probation for previous crimes when he was busted by Broward County Sheriff's deputies on multiple charges for allegedly rolling and lighting joints and playing with a handgun with some "associates" in his bathroom, with his infant son just inches away. Police knew he was doing this because he was live-streaming it to his five million Instagram followers. In fact, they even got to see the bust, because the police arrived right in the middle of the show.
Man, talk about a Kodak Moment!

The punches to the face keep coming

By Mike Huckabee
Take that, you evil corporations! Some California politicians want to put a big tax on companies to take back much of the GOP tax cut that so many employers are using to give raises and bonuses to workers, and to expand and create new jobs. The pols in Sacramento know better how to use that money: to provide more "social services." Which Californians will probably need, when they don't get raises or find jobs because all the businesses are moving to Texas. But hey, Californians: no need to thank them! It's just what liberals do!
