AMERICANS FOR A SAFE ISRAEL/AFSI has written often about the indignities suffered by Jews at Israel's holy sites. The AFSI Chizuk group has visited the Temple Mount many times, escorted by Rabbi Richman of the Temple Mount Institute, and we are always subjected to indignities. I, personally, was detained by the police a number of years ago because I had a prayer book in my possession.
Below is a report from Arutz Sheva about the latest outrage at the Temple Mount and MK Dr.Aryeh Eldad's call for an end to Muslim Occupation of the Mount.
Below that is a letter I wrote to the Jewish Press in response to an article by Michael Freund on the same subject. My letter covers a small sampling of Jewish holy sites that have been given away to the Arabs by the Israeli government, or which are in danger of being lost to Jews. The letter was published in the June 22, 2012 issue of The Jewish Press. Your comments are welcome.

1. MK: End Muslim Occupation on Temple Mount
by Maayana Miskin
MK Aryeh Eldad (Ichud Leumi) called Thursday to end Muslim control over visits to the Temple Mount.

"The time has come to end the occupation," he declared in a letter to Minister of the Interior Yitzchak Aharonovitch. "The Muslim occupation that occurred 1,300 years ago, and is still in effect on the Temple Mount, of course."

Eldad was angered by the arrest of a Jewish visitor to the Temple Mount on Thursday morning, and the police's decision to ban Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, who heads the Temple Mount institute, from visiting the holy site.

"This is an unacceptable escalation of the affront to freedom of worship in Israel, and another step toward abandoning the Jewish people's holiest place to the Arab enemy and the Waqf," he charged.

Rabbi Yehuda Glick said that Rabbi Ariel had been refused entrance to the Temple Mount on Wednesday as he attempted to ascend in honor of Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of the next Jewish month. Police told Rabbi Ariel that he was permanently banned, and would not say why, Rabbi Glick said.

The Jewish man arrested Thursday morning was detained after quoting to his companions from the Mishnah, Rabbi Glick added. Jews are forbidden to pray on the Temple Mount, but are normally allowed to speak.

Also Thursday, a Jewish visitor to the Temple Mount complained that Islamic Waqf officials had ordered him to remove his kippah because it offended them.

Jewish Holy Sites

Michael Freund's June 15 column, "Take Back the Holy Sites," touched a deep chord in me, since my AFSI Chizuk mission was in the ancient synagogue in Naaran in April of this year. We had stopped in the Jordan Valley, close to the area where Joshua crossed into Jericho, and then drove into a beautiful nature preserve. We walked through bountiful banana fields in order to reach the beautiful synagogue. We were overwhelmed by the setting, the mosaic floor, parts of which were still intact, the beautiful pillars, and the spirituality of the holy place. We were escorted there by a group of soldiers, many of whom joined in the Minchah prayers that were said at the site.

You can imagine our distress when we read about the desecration of the synagogue.
We felt that same distress when we read about the destruction of Joseph's tomb in Shechem by marauding Arabs, immediately after the holy place had been turned over to the Arabs for "protection." Kever Yosef had been one of our regular visiting sites on our AFSI Chizuk missions. The last time we were able to go there, it was only at midnight, on a specially arranged bus, with military escort.

The Temple Mount in Jerusalem is another holy place on every AFSI Chizuk itinerary. The shameful, humiliating treatment we receive when we arrive there, escorted by Rabbi Chaim Richman, is disgraceful. But we usually manage to ascend the Mount, followed by Arab Waqf members who walk closely behind, checking to see that we don't move our lips in prayer. Israeli police follow us also, to reinforce the Waqf's demands.

At the Cave of the Patriarchs, in Hebron, we must also usually suffer the indignity of having most of the rooms closed to Jews throughout the year. Jews pray in an open courtyard, covered with a tarpaulin that is fails to keep out cold, heat, rain and snow. We will be visiting this November 10 to commemorate Abraham's purchase of the tomb for his wife, Sarah. On this special Shabbat, Parashat Chayei Sarah, the cave is entirely open to Jews. How tragic it is that in the Jewish land of Israel, Jews suffer so much intolerance and degradation when it comes to our holy sites.

Freund is absolutely right. Israel must take back sovereignty over its holy sites.

Journalists:  Please do some investigative reporting!  Indeed it is very worrisome and confusing why all of a sudden Ketzeleh and Rabbi Melamed are encouraging the settlers to not protest in any significant way.    Daisy Stern of Hebron is Barry Chamish's source.  Please check out what they are reporting!  "Daisy Stern" <daisystern1@gmail.com>, "Barry Chamish" <chamish@netvision.net.il>,

Barry Chamish writes:
Ketzaleh and Rabbi Melamed were the main purchasers and builders of the piece of real estate named Givat Ha'Ulpana, see first of all their bravado after hearing about the plans to use brutality against the residents, see how right away they said ' no violence', how Ketzaleh described the savage attackers as the residents' brothers, and then observe how they immediately folded. See how the Yesha Council, and Zambish himself, are directly involved in the Givat Ha'Ulpana situation, and how once again the residents trust him completely, even coming to his defense; naivete knows no bounds.  What's going ON???????  This is very strange.  Also please rewatch the Miraglim series.

Letter to Rabbanim. Tough Choices. Impossible choices. Moral Dilemma's in fighting Rocket attacks of Hamas. What is Daas Torah?

bs"d

bs"d

See Yosef's comments to my letter below.

Yosef, amv"sh

It seems that the Rabbanim of the Galut have removed themselves from the conversation but it need not be that way.  I believe that this generation, hopefully  the generation of Moshiach is the Generation of  Tikkun Chait HaMiraglim.  Apparently the Yetzer Hara of the Miraglim is a Yetzer Hara that is extremely difficult to overcome if not impossible and even Kalev and Yehoshua needed much Siata Dishmaya, help from the One Above.

The response of Kalev ben Yefuneh and Yehoshua bin Nun:
Bamidbar - Numbers - Chapter 14

7. They spoke to the entire congregation of the children of Israel, saying, "The land we passed through to scout is an exceedingly good land.
8. If the Lord desires us, He will bring us to this land and give it to us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
9. But you shall not rebel against the Lord, and you will not fear the people of that land for they are [as] our bread. Their protection is removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them."

Unfortunately in the desert, the people took the side of the Miraglim.  In our generation, our purpose is to correct their mistake.  We must counter discouraging reports of Israel and not cry but rather praise Hashem for His unceasing miracles to protect His people. He is an Almighty G-d much stronger than all our enemies combined!!!

Often kids at risk, OTD, off the Derech, want to go back on the Derech but can't seem to help themselves even when they try to the best of their ability.  They can eventually be brought back on Derech if we only connect to their precious Neshomah, daven and pray and be their guarantors by adding our own Mitzvoth and putting it into their account. Do we feel their emotional pain being disconnected to Hashem and the rest of His people?  We plead with HKBH to bring them back to the fold, and to help instill in  them fear and love of  Hashem and Hashem's commandments.. By doing so, we ourselves become closer to Hashem and have reason to feel confident that one day, should we ever need the favor returned, the very souls that we once helped save will then return this favor and save us back in kind.

Each Neshoma is precious and we can't abandon even one because we are ONE and if we lose a Neshoma we lose a part of ourselves.  Al Achas Kama Vekama, how much more so with precious Neshomoth of our Rabbanim, our leaders,  the guiding light of hundreds of thousands of Neshomas. Shall we be callous to the sorry fate of the Miraglim???

Perhaps here too, the Tikkun can only come from the outside, from others davening and crying on their behalf and being Areivim, literally paying the deficit, as a guarantor does for someone who defaults on a loan. The people in the Desert were faulted for having cried after hearing the evil report of the Miraglim.  They should have replied as did Yehoshua and Kalev  that Hashem has promised the Good Land to us and we shall prevail because Hashem is protecting us as he promised.

Rav Shteinman recently acknowledged, http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/249670/maran-rav-shteinman-we-are-witnessing-nissim-vniflaos.html that we are witnessing miracles. "Rav Shteinman explains that there is not a single person among Am Yisrael that has not witnessed the miracles taking place around Israel during the military operation and we must be genuinely aware of HKBH’s intervention."

Surely that is a good first step!

We hope and pray that we establish a Sanhedrin in Yerushalyim, BaMakom Sheyivchar Hashem, in Har Habayit,  together with those who look towards Hebron with the dawn of light each morning as they start their Avoda.  We daven  Hoshiva Shofteinu KavRishona....that the Sanhedrin will be accepted by Rov, the majority of Am Yisroel and represent Rabbanim and Torah Scholars in Israel and worldwide in Chutz Laaretz.

Please G-d, Return us and We will return as One People United to the Good Land.

Hashiveinu Hashem Elecha, Venashuva Chadesh Yameinu KeKedem.....

It has taken me a while to draw this unfortunate conclusion, but it is now clear to me that the Rabbanim of Galut are not able to answer these questions.  They have removed themselves from the conversation as did the ancient Rabbanim of Bavel who refused to join Ezra and Mechemya and are irrelevant.

May the Rabbanim of Chutz Laaretz urge their flock to return to the Good Land and to stop worshiping idolatry in purity.

2. And it will be, when you approach the battle, that the kohen shall come near, and speak to the people.
3. And he shall say to them, "Hear, O Israel, today you are approaching the battle against your enemies. Let your hearts not be faint; you shall not be afraid, and you shall not be alarmed, and you shall not be terrified because of them.
4. For the Lord, your God, is the One Who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

On the Case of Yesha Autonomy Part 2, Tikkun Chait Meraglim

bs"d

Lichvod Rabbanim and Chavrei Knesset, amv"sh

Please visit On the Case of Yesha Autonomy  Part 1

I am of the opinion that the purpose of our generation is  to be Metaken the Chait of the Miraglim.    It was the philosophy of the Spies in the Desert (the Miraglim) to continue in their lofty level of Ruchniyus, spirituality, living off of the Manna in the desert without entering the Land of Israel.   The concept of glorifying learning Torah without keeping the Mitzvoth Teluyot Baaretz seems to be in sync with the philosophy of the Miraglim in the desert.  According to this opinion, there is no need to serve in the army since learning Torah is all that is needed and Hashem will fight our battles. According to this philosophy,  Eretz Yisroel is not even necessary in order to observe Torah. It is the opinion of many Gedoilim of our generation that Mitzvoth Teluyot Baaretz are not obligatory but rather optional MItzvoth, Mitzvoth Reshus and not Chovah (obligatory), as has been the case for two  thousand  years. They encourage their students that going to War to defend the Land and working the Land are not necessary because Hashem will protect us and provide for us if we engage merely in Torah Study.

This seems to be the root of our problems. What follows are arguments refuting this ideology that sitting and learning Torah is sufficient and actually the preferred method of being the ultimate observant Torah Jew:

Why would Hashem give us commandments about having a Machaneh that is Kadosh if there is no need for a real army?   Why did Moshe Rabbeinu strongly rebuke the Tribes of Reuvein and Gad comparing them with the spies saying that by not going into the Land to help fight and conquer it since they were discouraging the rest of the Nation? http://www.chabad.org/parshah/article_cdo/aid/679195/jewish/Were-the-Tribes-of-Reuvain-and-Gad-Scared.htm

Even if according to the Ohr Hachaim these Tribes reasoned,  that G-d will fight Israel's battles and they weren't  needed to fight, Moshe made it clear to them that they must go to fight and indeed they did go, in the front lines.

Let us look at sources from Tanach which show that this passive approach is very wrong.

At Kriat Yam Suf the miracles only happened when they jumped in.  It wasn't only Nachshon that jumped. They all jumped up till their noses.

Didn't Moshe Rabbeinu actively lead the Jews into battle with Sichon and Og as an example of what they were supposed to do in Eretz Yisroel? Surely Hashem performed miracles for them but they did their hishtadlus.

Yehoshu conquered Yericho and the Nation as a whole did their Hishtadlus even though it was quite obvious that it was miracles that defeated the enemy.

Why is  Neviim Rishonim, Yehoshua, Shoftim etc. and Neviim Achronim a series of narratives rebuking the Israelites for not conquering the Land,  and rebuking them for not destroying  the inhabitants and idols and as a result the Pelishtim gained the upper hand and was a source of much suffering.  Please reread Shirat Devorah where she was quite specific in her praise for those that helped in battle and critical of those that didn't.

True Hashem fights our battles but we must do our Hishtadlus in order to be a vessel for G-ds miracles.  This means actively going to War and observing all the Mitzvoth for the soldiers that are applicable.

The concept of sitting and learning and not needing to work the Land seems to contradict the commandments of 6 years we work the Land and the seventh year we rest (the Sabbatical Year).  Sitting and learning seems appropriate for the Shemittah year but not for the other 6 years.   Isn't Yom Shekulo Shabbat and Gan Eden for Olam Haba after Moshiach comes and not for now? Perhaps it is appropriate for Shevet Levi or Yessachar but doesn't seem to be the way for the majority of the Jewish People. Of course there might be some exceptions. But if the entire nation is learning full time on off Shemittah years,  then how will the Nation get food? How will the Levites be supported?  How will the poor survive w/o Leket, Shikcha and Peeh? Surely, you will be the first to say that one  is not allowed to bring the Ketz prematurely. After 2,000 years we finally have Jewish Sovereignty.  That is miraculous, a dream come true as a result of decision made by the League of Nations.

Now the Torah demands that we have a Jewish army and keep the relevant Mitzvoth and we work the Land for 6 years and keep the Mitzvoth Teluyot Baaretz.  On the Shemittah year we rest.  Isn't Sefer Devarim also known as the Mishneh Torah, Moshe's direction of how to keep Torah in the Land.  Do all the Mitzvoth we read about on Hakhel serve no real purpose as is the case when we don't work the Land?

So how can we be Metaken the Chait Hamiraglim? This can done by Rabbinic and Public Jewish leaders remembering G-d's Covenant with the Jewish People, declaring Eretz Yisroel as  our entitlement from Hashem, and proudly declare like Calev ben Yefunah and Yehoshua bin Nun "Aloh Naaleh, Veyarosh Nirash Osah Ki Yachol Nuchal la".  It requires a willingness to fight and conquer the Land, removing all the idol worship, and establishing a Torah Sovereignty that only accepts non Jews who accept a Torah Sovereignty.

As The Case of Yesha Autonomy Part I suggests Let us start a public debate about a prototype Torah State in Yehudah and Shomron.   The establishment of the State of Israel had a serious flaw.  This flaw was the rejection of Torah.  The Medina in 1948 tried to erase religion as was clear with their treatment of the Yemenite population. Over the years the Medina did build up Yeshivoth etc. The flaw was masked.  However, now, the government is acting in ways that are anti Zionist, anti Torah and  self destructive.  This flaw has now turned into a crack.

Let us unite with authentic Torah leaders who might have rejected the State because of rejection of Torah in 1948 but have still the flame of hope and desire to establish a Torah government is burning strong.  Zeh Hashem Kivinu Lo, Nagila VeNismacha Biyeshuaso,

The "Peace Process" is the Hellinization of our generation. The Hellinists believed that Torah must conform to foreign influences.  They did not reject Torah outright, they merely diluted it with foreign ideas saying that the two can live side by side in peace and harmony. .

It seems therefore that intentionally or unintentionally, the Likud gov't,  Shas and UTJ are actual partners with the Hellenists of our time. The Hellenists are clearly the Left (Labor,  etc). The Peace Process is clearly an act of annulling the Torah.  Those that claim to observe Torah while at the same time sit passively while they join with a government that accepts the concept of a Palestinian State Chas veshalom, have been part of this modern day Hellinization process and have been actively engaging in violating many Mitzvoth D'Orayta.  Al Taamod al Dam Reiaacha (allowing terrorists to be freed, roadblocks dismantled etc), Gezela (destruction of property in Neguhot not to mention the destruction of homes in Gush Katif and the Shomron. ).  The list of Biblical violations go on and on....

Rather then ring our hands and say that there is nothing to do, we must take the cue from Yehudah Hamakabee with Mi LaHashem Eilai.

First, let all Rabbanim daven and prostrate themselves in Hebron by the Kivrei Tzadikim Avraham Yitzchok and Yaakov Avinu.

Let us call for an actualization of our Tefillot each and every day for a governing Authority based on Torah.

Let us challenge the Rabbanei Yesha  who are Anavim to take the Leadership role of Mi LaHashem Eilai and protest a Palestinian State and against an IDF that expels Jews.  I have great admiration for Rav Yinon Ilani  from Arad who stood his ground. He was not afraid to stand up to his colleagues publicly and withdraw his Yeshiva from Hesder in spite of loss of gov't stipends.

But when the Roshei Yeshivot are ambivalent and silent and there is a Chillul Hashem, then individual soldiers had no choice but to protest... Isn't it the JOB of each and every Hesder Rosh Yeshiva to PROTEST against the policies of the gov't and the IDF to enlist soldiers to expel Jews from YESHA?

The Roshei Yeshivot should declare that Torah is above the State Law and that soldiers are forbidden according to Torah to expel Jews.  In addition all Torah observant Jews should do whatever they can to build up Yehudah and Shomron  and protest quite vociferously any destruction of any home on any settlement and the dismantling of any roadblock within Eretz Yisroel Hashelima whose boundaries are delineated in Parshat Masei.

Today on Radio 10 on 95.1 in Brooklyn NY, a Rav was speaking about the time of Moshiach.  I wish I heard who the Rav was and who he was quoting.  He quoted a source that  said in the time of Moshiach , the Nationalist camp will have a stronger  Tikkun of the Nefesh.  This camp which represents the Nefesh of Am Yisroel will desire a Zionist State and aspires for  Eretz Yisroel to be a leader among the Nations. However the Chareidi camp, those not Zionistic will have a stronger Tikkun on the Ruach  with Yirei Hashem and observing the Torah. They will be successful in bringing back Hamonei Am, multitudes of unobservant Jews back to Torah and Mitzvoth.  This indeed is the reality of our generation.

Moshiach will come and unite the 2 camps.  The Nationalist will learn from the Chareidim to observe Torah Properly with sanctity and the Chareidim will learn from the Nationalist about Jewish Pride and being Holy KIngdom among Nations.

If anyone can elaborate on these thoughts and provide sources, please email me.

This will be posted on Shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com

Lmaan Zion lo Echesheh

bs"d

The following is a response to Hakhel's message (see below).

Again, beautiful in words but empty in action. Like the Emperor's garments. Your Torah is dressed in the most beautiful of finery and the most eloquent Divrei Torah. Yet where is a united proclamation that Eretz Yisroel is the Inheritance of Am Yisroel? The Promised Land was promised to our Patriarchs starting with Avraham as an inheritance for their seed as an eternal possession. Doesn't eternal include the present? Aren't Jews all over the world and Israel their seed? If there was a true Tzipisi Leyeshua, these words would replace the words of your Divrei Torah. The Convergence Plan and Roadmap are against the Torah. A child of 5 knows the first Rashi of Breishis. Yet the Gedoilim have been silent.

The Children will speak the truth and the Leaders will be embarrassed. It's even worse. The chait of the Miraglim was akin to idolotry. They didn't merit Olam Haba. They perished immediately for misguiding the hundreds of thousands of their followers. The rest of the Nation were allowed a gradual punishment. In fact, those that sat in meetings, many members of the Sanhedrin joined with Korach and they perished. These are two blatant examples where the Leaders were wrong and were punished severely.

Let me add that Gedoilim alone is a bathroom word. Without Torah, Gedoilim Batorah are simply Gedoilim.

These are words of harshness. Yet, it is not nearly as harsh as the Chillul Hashem that is as a result of the Silence. Is the Admor M'Gur, Rav Shteinman, Rav Kanievsky, Rav Eliashiv, Rav Kamenetsky of the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation speaking out? Are their Shamashim even allowing them too or updating them on current events? Is this lack of Emunas Chachamim? Or is it simply exposure of an Avoda Zara that has pervaded Orthodox Jewry. To put our blind trust in people who are simply human beings rather than in believing in Toras Moshe MeSinai and really believing in the fundamental Truth that has been repeated hundreds of times in the Torah that Eretz Yisroel is our Inheritance and we are obligated to keep the Mitzvoth. The second Dibra of the 10 Commandments is that we shouldn't have other Gods. If only these Gedoilim would make this Kol Korei that Eretz Yisroel is the Divine Ordained Land for Am Yisroel the Seed of the Patriarchs, exclusively, and that the Convergence Plan and Unilateral Withdrawal and the Roadmap are all a contradiction to the Torah. If only they would say please voice a protest by calling the White House or sending an email or supporting the March of the Youth (Separate marching for boys and for girls) over the Land of Eretz Yisroel fulfilling Kum Hishalech command to Avraham Avinu and to future generations.. These youth are acting on their love and yearning for the Land. Why not admit it? If only they would speak out and end the Silence as is the group L'Maan Zion Lo Echesha, then hundreds of thousands of people would follow their lead. The expulsions would be stopped in its tracks. The Chillul Hashem would end.

The Miraglim were Tzadikim before the Chait Hamiraglim. Let this generation be the rectifiers of this Chait. Let individual Gedoilim Batorah stand up and collectively take a claim to Our Land. Let the Chofetz Chaim Foundation be Metaken the root of Lashon Hara this Tisha Baav which stems from Chait Miraglim. Or will it simply not be on the Agenda? Please Hashem, let my words prove to be false. I wish to be proven wrong because I know how desperately we need our Gedoilim Batorah.

Sincerely,

Robin Ticker

Hakhel Email Community Awareness Bulletin-One of Only Six

ONE OF ONLY SIX

One of the six questions a person is asked after his 120 year stay in this world is "Tzipisa Li'Yeshua"--did you sincerely await the Redemption (Shabbos 31A)? Indeed, the Rambam writes in the 12th Foundation of Faith that we must await Moshiach every single day. Further, as we all know, in the 15th brocha of Shemone Esrei we all plead "...for your salvation we hope every day."

We asked HaRav Yisroel Belsky, Shlita, for the Makor, for the source, in Torah that we must wait for this fundamental principle. HaRav Belsky, Shlita suggested two possible sources. First, the Pasuk in Beraishis(49:18): "LiShuasecha Kivisi Hashem"--for your Redemption I wait Hashem. It is well known that the Brisker Rav Z'tl could recite this Pasuk several times during any given day. Various explanations may be given for his practice. We suggest that perhaps he was careful to constantly remind himself throughout the day to await redemption--by reciting its Makor in the Torah. Moreover, it is interesting to note that the nusach of the 15th bracha of Shemone Esrei seems to indicate that our longing for redemption should go on throughout the day ("KOL HAYOM"), and not necessarily be limited to our thrice daily recitation in Shemone Esrei. Although the Avudraham and Radak in Tehillem seem to learn that "KOL HAYOM" simply means ever day and not throughout the day, it is conceivable that the Brisker Rav felt that the literal translation of the words "KOL HAYOM" mean that one has to await Moshiach throughout the day, and not necessarily at a formal or fixed time.

The second possible source for this fundamental principle of our faith suggested by HaRav Belsky, Shlita,is the Pasuk in Chabakuk (2:3) "Im Yismahmeah Chakeh Lo"--if he be delayed await him-- which is the phrase utilized by the Rambam in the Ani Maamin mentioned earlier. For further explanation on the meaning of this Pasuk, see the Malbim there.

Now that we have identified Torah sources for our longing, WHY is it that we are to long in this way? HaRav Belsky, Shlita, explains: "The main reason is that no one should come to terms with a world that is devoid of Kedusha, Chochma and Gilui Shechina and a host of other attributes." HaRav Belsky, Shlita, referred us further to the words of the Rambam which immediately precede the 13 Foundations of Faith ,which are presented by the Rambam in his Introduction to the 11th Perek of Sanhedrin. There, the Rambam writes that we strive for the times of Moshiach not for the resulting glory, grandeur or riches, but rather for man's resulting advancements in wisdom, proper conduct and closeness to Hashem... so that at long last our hearts of stone are replaced with hearts of inspired and sincere, truly righteous behavior, from young to old.

Is this not worth thinking about more than in a flashing moment or two in the course of a day beset by the problems, or at least issues, of this world?

We are about to enter the heart of Tammuz. We must recognize that the times and dates in the past which have been so extremely unpleasant for us and our people could provide just the opposite experience for us. Have you thought about what would have happened on the 17th of Tammuz had B'nei Yisroel not made the Eigel--we would have forever possessed the unbroken, original first set of Luchos!

Similarly, if the spies would have come back with the right report on Tisha B'Av, it could have been a day of rejoicing--and not crying----all these years! These days are days of happening. Let us break away from the estrangement and void that we have brought upon ourselves--and strive to draw closer to man's true fulfillment.

Perhaps we can start by especially thinking, hoping and praying for the Yeshua just a little bit more during these days--from time to time through the day. In this zechus, may we directly see and experience the Kedusha, the Chochma, the Gilui Shechina we so sorely, sorely lack--speedily and literally in our days!

Police who Threaten Nationalist with Taser at Home and another Jew arrested for bowing on Har Habayit. Rabbanim sign Declaration!

 bs"d

Dear Rabbanim, Print and Radio Media, and Activist List,

Gemorrah Hakones 55b It was taught in a Baraisa - R' YEHOSHUA SAYS - THERE ARE FOUR CASES  of monetary loss FOR WHICH THE PERPETRATOR IS NOT LIABLE to pay UNDER THE LAWS OF MAN, BUT IS LIABLE UNDER THE LAWS OF HEAVEN - THEY ARE ......(the fourth one) AND ONE WHO KNOWS TESTIMONY  beneficial TO HIS FELLOW BUT DOES NOT TESTIFY ON HIS BEHALF.

The avoidance of giving testimony is a violation of the Biblical exhortation:

א וְנֶפֶשׁ כִּי-תֶחֱטָא, וְשָׁמְעָה קוֹל אָלָה, וְהוּא עֵד, אוֹ רָאָה אוֹ יָדָע; אִם-לוֹא יַגִּיד, וְנָשָׂא עֲוֹנוֹ. Vayikra 5:1

If a person will sin; he accepted a demand for an oath, and he is a witness - either he saw or he knew  - if he does not testify, he shall bear his iniquity.

This talks about the situation whereby one is called upon to testify by a litigant, he is required to testify.  According to Tosfot  the "iniquity"  it mentions is carried by anyone who fails to give critical testimony, even if he did not take an oath.

I suggest that the Yesha residents call upon Gedolei Hador BaTorah UbaMitzvoth to testify that homes in Judea and Samaria are legal properties and should not be destroyed.  Let them issue a halaachic ruling that no soldier is permitted to demolish another Jews home for political purposes of the Government of Israel under the IDF or under Civilian administration of the Military. Please forward this to as many Rabbanim, Hesder Rabbanim especially, and Media personalities as possible. Let us not forget those Rabbonim who collaborated with the government of Israel during the Disengagement.

There are numerous examples of Yesh Din Veyesh Dayan of those who were responsible of the Disengagement who are in bad shape today.  There seems to be a direct correlation between those who assisted in the Disengagement and those who are experiencing all kinds of heavenly or human punishment.

We therefore call upon all Rabbonim to provide critical testimony to prevent further expulsions, further harassment and demolitions of homes in Judea and Samaria and we call upon the media to report on it. It would be wise to learn from previous mistakes.

Failure of a Jew to testify in order to prevent property damage to a fellow Jew is liable under the laws of Heaven.

If any Rav needs a wakeup call just listen to this audio of Rav Weissmandl speaking about the Silence of American Jewry in an election year on their failure to scream out to stop the systematic murder of 10,000 to 15,000 Jews a day in Hungary and their failure to get the Americans or British who controlled the airspace to bomb the train tracks to Auschwitz.

Please take the time to read this still very relevant post written in 2008 calling on Rabbonim to end the Silence..  shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2008/09/57681218-israel-land-of-my-possession.html

Video: Police Threaten Nationalist with Taser at Home

Footage shows how police harassed nationalist Pinchasi Bar-On inside the home where he is under house arrest.

Gil Ronen

Video footage (below) shows police officers harassing a nationalist, Pinchasi Bar On, inside his own home at Esh Kodesh, near Shilo.

Bar On, a soldier in the IDF, was arrested three weeks ago on suspicion of leaking military information to other residents in Judea and Samaria (Yehuda and Shomron, or Yesha). After more than a week of strenuous interrogation in the National Unit for Investigation of International and Serious Crime, he was released to eight days' house arrest after no connection was found between him and the alleged offenses.

During the days he was in house arrest, in the home of a relative in one of the communities in Binyamin, police came to the home twice a day, ostensibly to make sure that he was there. Every night, police visited the home in the wee hours of the night, between 1:00 and 3:00 a.m.

On the night between Wednesday and Thursday the police came at 2:40 a.m. Bar On opened the door and the police demanded identification. He told them – as he had told all policemen who visited the home previously – that his ID card had been left behind at Hadarim Prison, where he had been held, and that he had no other ID on him.

These police told him that he was being detained and taken to the police station for identification. Bar On objected and said that the police have other ways of ascertaining his identity besides dragging him off to the station at 3:00 a.m.

When the policemen insisted, Bar On said the arrest was unlawful, and refused to go along. In response, policeman Tomer Elias pulled out a taser gun and threatened to use it against Bar On, even though Bar On had used no force against the policemen.

Bar On was eventually handcuffed and taken to the police station, where he was charged with attacking Elias...

Bar On denied the charge and said Elias was deliberately harassing him for fear that Bar On would file a complaint against him. He was then locked up all day and cuffed during a large part of the time.

NGO Honenu that assisted Bar On said: "It appears that the police have decided to use the tools their disposal to get revenge on a person whose guilt they were not able to prove. This is a scandal."

Public Declaration

"They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain" (Isaiah 11:9)

End the Persecution of Jews on the Temple Mount!

We are shocked to learn that Jews, who ascend to the permitted areas of the Temple Mount in accordance with the rulings of their rabbinic authorities, are maltreated by the Israeli Police. It is incomprehensible that the State of Israel, which defines itself as "Jewish and Democratic", would act most un-Jewish and un-Democratic by implementing policies of harassment and discrimination against Jew's who ascend the Temple Mount!

After investigating the claims of those who regularly ascend to the Temple Mount: We find the Israeli Government guilty of implementing and enforcing the following policies that violate both civil and Torah principle!
  • Only Jews must wait in a special security line before entering the Mount

  • Only Jews must show their ID's before entering the Mount

  • Only Jews are subject to special "ritual item searches" before entering the Mount

  • Only Jews are divided into groups when ascending the Mount and are forbidden from walking on the Mount alone

  • Only Jews are followed and filmed by both Israeli police and representatives of the Muslim religious authority (aka. WAKF) during their entire stay on the Mount

  • Only Jews are arrested for crimes, including the following: praying; learning Torah; holding religious books; wearing tallit or tefilin  closing eyes, swaying;  bowing; singing; dancing, ripping ones shirt in mourning for the Temple or picking up dirt to be placed of the forehead of a groom

  • Only Jews are prevented from ascending the Mount more than once a day

We the undersigned, call upon the Israeli Government to immediately end these policies, which contradict the most sacred values of the Jewish Nation. We will not stand silent as Jews are humiliated, the Torah denigrated and the Temple Mount betrayed at the hands of the Jewish State. The Government of Israel should remember that it was only 63 years ago that the British enacted such decrees against the Jews at the Western Wall. We call upon all Jews to protest this ongoing travesty of justice through every legal and democratic means possible.

We urge the Government of Israel to adhere to what is written, "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." (Isaiah 11:9)

PM orders emergency meeting on settler violence

bs"d

"Settler Violence" does not happen in a vacuum! see comment below! I urge you to visit the Arutz7 reports posted last night regarding this matter and watch the Miraglim youtubes.

Netanyahu Vows to End Violence Against IDF

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu condemned the violent raid on an IDF base in Yesha saying "we will stop it now."
By Gavriel Queenann

After reading this Arutz piece all I can say is to the following leaders in the Nationalist camp is "shame on you"  for condemning the angry settlers and the "minority" of them who acted "despicably" and depicting those that are angry as radical .  Pinchus Wallerstein is a known traitor from the Gush Katif saga but Ketzele and Danny Dayan? I hope not!  But I am afraid that they are falling into a trap. i recommend that they watch the Miraglim youtubes so as not to be used by the evil forces.

Let's say that this "violence" was perpetrated by provocateurs as Ketzele and Danny Dayan suggest.   Still, the reality is such that settlers are subject to day to day violence from Arabs and from the IDF and this violence directed against them is tolerated. It is not a minority of settlers who are very angry at the IDF for expelling Jews from their homes.  It is not a minority of caring Jews all over the world who are angry at the IDF for violence directed at settlers!  Whether or not settlers perpetrated this act of Violence, does not hide the fact that indeed they were provoked either by actual violence directed, such as the expulsion from their homes or by provocateurs implanted by Shabak who led them to believe that they and their homes will be attacked and they must do something in self defense.   Let say that some of these settlers that perpetrated these "acts of violence" had intelligence that Ramat Gilad as well as 5 other outposts was going to be raised as was Givat Aryeh. Let us even say for arguments sake that this intelligence was planted falsely by Shabak.   Are they totally unjustified to burn tires or even throw rocks at an IDF who is oblivious to rocks thrown at them?

If you say that they are unjustified, let me remind you of the intolerable acts directed against the American pioneers that brought on the American Revolution.  Freedom of Self Defense and Freedom to Bear Arms are built into the Bill of Rights of the American constitution.  The settlers of Judea and Samaria are not merely suffering from Taxation without Representation.  They are suffering from intolerable acts.

Settlers do not want to fight the IDF.  They do not want a civil war.  But the government of Israel is not allowing them basic freedoms and are not protecting them as governments are  required to.  Shame on Ketzele and Danny Dayan for not emphasizing these truths but rather worrying about how the settlers are depicted in the Press.   You and I know that the settler movement  is not a "home grown terror organization".  By suggesting credibility in your statements of this being a possibility by a minority of settlers, strengthens the arguments of the government and makes you their tool to divide the Nationalist camp into 2 camps.  Those who are "violent" and those who are not.

I suggest you emphasize the American Colonists and the Intolerable Acts that led to the American Revolution.

From YNet

PM orders emergency meeting on settler violence

Netanyahu to convene IDF chief, police commissioner and defense minister to discuss ways to handle settler violence, vows to take firm hand against rioters

Attila Somfalvi

Published: 12.13.11, 11:52 / Israel News

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered an emergency meeting following settler violence directed at the IDF. The discussion will be attended by the IDF chief of staff, police commissioner, Central Command chief, defense minister and internal security minister.

"This is an intolerable state," Netanyahu said. "Tonight's events are very serious. We shall take a firm hand," a statement on behalf of Netanyahu said. The prime minister will demand explanations and will search for ways to toughen handling of rioters.

Related stories:

The IDF is also taking the events seriously. IDF Spokesman Yoav Mordechai described the incident in which Ephraim Brigade commander Ran Kahana was hurt. "He was hit by a rock and was lightly bruised," he told Ynet. "Later on a bus arrived and unloaded 40-50 rioters who entered the base, hurled stones at military vehicles, broke windows and punctured tires."

Marks of burning tires (Photo: Yoav Zitun)

Mordechai said that a red line had been crossed. "Hurting military officials and IDF bases is intolerable. There is an attempt to drag the army into the political discourse with violent means and provocation." He called on Yesha leaders and leading rabbis to condemn the event in an unequivocal manner.

Asked about the army's handling of the violence he said that the IDF will draw lessons from the event and noted that the IDF chief of staff is personally dealing with the issue.

Traces of burning tires can still be seen near the Ephraim Brigade base. An IDF officer whose car tires were punctured described the events. "They opened the gate by force and hit anything they came by, throwing stones, bottles of paint and puncturing tires. By the time the police came they had ran away. The whole thing lasted 20 minutes."

Talking to Ynet Minister Dan Meridor responded to the violence and said, "I don't want to think what would have happened were they not Hilltop Youth members but Palestinians. I think this is a cause for serious concern for us all."

He added, "When the rule of law is being violated there is no end to the phenomenon. Some say 'price tag' acts against Arabs aren't so bad because it's against Palestinians. Then it's being done in Israel and people say it's not so bad because it's against leftists. And now it's being done against the army. This challenges the authority of the state and the government. Such violence against IDF soldiers must be met with a firm had and in accordance with the law."

Yair Altman contributed to this report

My comments:

There is a direct correlation between "Settler Violence" and Police violence directed against settlers and their homes and properties.  When stones are thrown at settlers  by Arabs, do the Police and IDF call it intolerable and  then take a firm hand against the Arab rioters and stone throwers?  Sadly to say, not only do they not take a firm hand against the Arab stone throwers, they instead take a firm hand against the Jewish victims.   These Jewish victims are afraid to report any Arab violence out of fear of being accused of being the perpetrators and then prosecuted in Israeli court.  Check out the work of Honenu
