Re: Congress needs to fix this ban on Transgn

Bsd

Dear Senator Gillibrand,

There is a high risk of mental illness among transgenders. Do you want to add additional stress of being in a combat unit?

Are you willing to take responsibility for the emotional toll serving in a combat unit will have on Transgenders.

The bigotry is coming from within you since you don't seem to factor in the level of uneasiness straight people have among transgenders.  You are bigoted against those whose genders are consistent with how they were born as per G-d's designation be it male or female.

The bigotry is actually against the Creator of the Universe who fashioned his creations, at least all mammals, as being male or female. Females were fashioned with mammatory glands to nourish their young while males were not.

Actually being sensitive to the emotional tormoil of most transgenders is being merciful and not reckless nor hateful. Treating such dysfunctions as totally normal rather than as the dysfunction that it is, is reckless and dangerous to the psyche of transgenders and foolish.

Convincing a dog that it is a cat be quite  confusing. Convincing others that you Are a female when you were born male is not something to sneeze at let alone resorting to name-calling for recognizing that it is not normal.

Friends –

Ever since President Trump took to Twitter to announce his ban on transgender Americans from serving in our nation's military, I've heard from brave transgender service members worried about what this means for their futures. They want nothing more than to serve their country, and it's morally wrong that President Trump has derailed their lives in an impulsive fit of bigotry.

An issue this fundamental goes beyond partisan politics. That's why Senator Susan Collins and I have introduced a bipartisan amendment to block the President's reckless and hateful ban.

No one who's willing to risk their life to serve our country should face discrimination just for being who they are. Will you join me in calling on the Senate to pass this critical amendment?

Click here to sign the petition and demand that Congress block President Trump's ban on transgender service members.

President Trump's hateful policy is astonishingly cruel – and it's not clear that it's even legal. Our transgender service members deserve better, and we owe it to them to stand with them now.

Thank you for speaking out.

Kirsten
