Fwd: Stop Iran Now Rally Today!; AFSI on the Frontlines

Bsd

Please read till end.  Plan to join protests and Press Conferences in Washington Sep 8 and/or 9. Urge your Rabbi to join other Rabbis in DC as well. The very act of not standing by idly has intrinsic  value in and of itself.  Ty.

AFSI on the Frontlines!

1.
On Monday, August 31, Americans for a Safe Israel, Zionist Organization of America, Veterans Against the Deal, StandWithUs, Young Israel of Hollywood and Aventura, and the Israeli American Council, co-sponsored a rally outside of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz's office in Aventura, Florida.

Carol Flatto and Sid Kulick

AFSI's South Florida Chapter Chair, Carol Flatto was quoted:
"The cross-section of the hundreds of people who gathered in 95 degree weather outside of Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz's office for over two hours exemplifies how critically opposed we are to this Iran deal. We had Jews and Christians, Hispanics and Anglos, Army veterans, and even an Iranian all coming together to raise our collective voices in opposition to this Iran deal. We elect our representatives to represent us, and the several hundred who gathered here are just a tiny fraction of her constituency who adamantly oppose the JCPOA. The Congresswoman has to decide whether her loyalty lies with President Obama and VP Biden or the safety and security of a world threatened by a demonstrated terrorist regime that cannot be trusted. She can be remembered like Queen Esther who saved her nation, or Neville Chamberlain, whose name is synonymous with appeasement and world war."

AFSI is mentioned in an article in today's Haaretz newspaper, by Seth Lipsky.

Excerpts:
The New York Times is out with a story about U.S. President Barack Obama's appeal to a Jewish community that is, in respect of the Iran deal, "divided and troubled." I don't buy it. I haven't done a double-blind study, but looking back over my 35 or more years covering the Jewish beat, I find it hard to think of a major question on which the Jewish community has been more united than it is in its opposition to Obama's compact of appeasement with Iran.

It's not only left and right in Israel that the Iran appeasement has brought together. It's also made bedfellows of an astonishing array of Jewish organizations in America. The Anti-Defamation League is in agreement with the Zionist Organization of America and the revisionists of Americans for a Safe Israel and the American Jewish Committee. When does that happen? Most of the federations in the big cities are against the deal, even if New York's has stood neutral.
