Women in Green write:
Dear Friends,
Tens of thousands of Jews participated yesterday, Independence day, in activities connected to the struggle for the Land of Israel ascending and settling hills all over Judea and Samaria, proudly defying all the antisemitic decrees by internal and external enemies who try, to no avail, to disconnect us from our homeland and prevent us from building and settling.
Following are descriptions of two events:
1) JEWS HAVE RETURNED TO SANUR IN THE SHOMRON!
As you recall Chomesh and Sanur were the 2 Jewish communities that were destroyed by the Sharon government in the summer of 2005 when all of Gush Katif was destroyed too. Like the Jews of Gush Katif, the Jews of Chomesh and Sanur were expelled and put in refugee conditions for the past 3 years. Jews have returned to Chomesh over the past year and there is a constant Jewish presence in Chomesh for at least 8 months now. On Yom Haatsmaut, 15,000 Jews celebrated a real Jewish Independence there in a event organized by the local councils.
In addition, in a secret almost military operation, early this morning, at 4:00am, 150 Jewish men, women and children, returned for the first time since summer 2005, to Sanur. We urge you to click on the link and see the very moving two minute video clip of the ride to Sanur, the arrival there and the placing of a mezuza on what is leftover from the buildings there. No need to understand Hebrew. The video itself is clear enough.

Please G-d, the day will come, sooner than later, that Jews will also go back to Gush Katif and rebuild all the communities that were destroyed.
2) Description of Yom Haatsmaut on the Eitam hill in Efrat-Gush Etzion.
As you may recall, Eitam is the name of a large mountain ridge that belongs to the municipal boundaries of the community of Efrat. Nevertheless the leftist leadership of Israel wants to abandon Eitam to the Arab enemy. The Efrat and Gush Etzion action committees, with the very active support of Women in Green and Loyalists of the Land of Israel, launched the struggle for the Eitam last year bringing thousands of people to the hill for one-day activities. Though the Eitam is not yet settled on a daily basis, we believe that our increased efforts will, please G-d, soon bear fruit. The corrupt leadership in Israel will soon fall and Eitam, as each of the other hills in the entire Land of Israel that were ascended yesterday will, please G-d, be settled by many Jews.
Shabbat Shalom,
Ruth and Nadia Matar

Yom Haatsmaut on Eitam in Efrat-Gush Etzion
Baruch Hashem, a succesful day on Eitam on Yom Haatsmaut. Some 200 people arrived during the day from Efrat, Gush Etzion, Jerusalem and Kiryat Arba to Eitam and participated in the different activities on the hill. The day started with a march of an hour from the Zayit Hill in Efrat to Eitam. Heading the march was Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of Efrat . The public who was not able to walk finally drove up to Eitam by car, after disturbing struggles with the security forces who tried to prevent cars from going up, simply out of pettiness and wickedness of their superiors.
The main event on Eitam was the very moving ceremony for the laying of the cornerstone for the main synagogue on Eitam that, please G-d, will be built there. Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of Efrat, Rabbi Shimon Golan, member of the Rabbanut Efrat, Rabbi Shlomo Kimchi, Head of Yeshivat Orot Yehuda and Rabbi Natan Siegel of Efrat signed on a "megillat yesod" (a declaration of our loyalty to the Land of Israel) which was then buried in a vase and covered with cement.
After tefillat mincha the public enjoyed a performance by singer Ari ben Yam who sang songs of Eretz Yisrael and also protest songs, including a very moving song calling for the release of Jonathan Pollard.
All participants felt that on this Yom Haatsmaut, when enemies from within and without threaten the existence of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel, there was no better way to spend the day than ascending a hill that our enemies want to take away from us, with the very clear message: the Land of Israel belongs to the People of Israel. We will settle Eitam and each and every part of Eretz Yisrael!!
This Shabbat, Shabbat Parashat Emor, please G-d, tens of youth are going to spend Shabbat on Eitam.
