It seems that according to Cindy this Solidarity rally against violent antisemitism is not inviting leading Republican Lee Zeldin while others who have instigated antisemitism are coming. Huh?

Why wasn't Lee Zeldin invited, the highest ranking elected Jewish Republican in New York AND the country?

This Solidarity March is Very worrisome to me. 

I remember the solidarity demonstrations in Kfar Maimon against the Hitnatkut, the Gush Katif expulsion in 2005.  I was there with my kids ages 11,7 and 4 at the time.

They had us all corralled in the village surrounded with total control of who enters and leaves. Very narrow opening for the entrance and we were totally surrounded by IDF or Yassamnicks.

The Rabbis and  leaders of Yesha in cahoots with the government mobilized the energies of the opposition to take it nowhere. They probably organized the planning, publicity etc that brought hundreds of thousands of well meaning protestors and led it nowhere.

The Hitnatkut was executed without a hitch, 22 beautiful communities bulldozed with no serious opposition as a result of right wingers following those they trusted. 

But all these "leaders" did was lead them to circle Kfar Maimon, maybe chant some slogans, let them vent in a non violent protest and sent them home.

ADL, UJA, AJC NY Board of Rabbis dont have the best track record from my perspective in their advocacy for Israel and the Jewish People. 

This Solidarity event is probably to vent and neutralize real opposition :(

Will this Solidarity Event allow you to be critical of the Democrats who orchestrated the rise in antiSemitism? Oh no because it will be classified as divisive and contrary to the unity of this all inclusive umbrella group. I am sure Cuomo and deBlasio can give fantastic speeches against antisemitism as did Pelosi. They will empathize and stand in Solidarity with the Rabbi in a coma stabbed mpl times, also in the brain and all the other Jewish victims and pledge their resolve to stop antisemitism. Maybe Hakeem Jefferies, supporter of Iran Deal and Planned Parenthood will offer his well thought out solutions of interfaith dinners of unity and Solidarity with victims of all hate crimes and teach people how not to be antisemitic.

Can we put the blame totally on DeBlasio making him the scapegoat when there are 48 out of 51 Democrats in the NY City Council and it was we the people that elected them including electing our own religious elected officials masquerading as Democrats. How were we blindsided? They and their initiatives are powerless in a majority unG-dly Democrat Party and our G-d fearing Jewish elected representatives are clearly outsiders.

The Democratic elected politicians with their latest bail reform vote do not represent us Jews and similar minded New Yorkers!

Demanding more NYCity and NYState police patrols fighting antisemitism is not the answer to end the terror.

 How can we trust them with our safety and security knowing that the Democrat run State and City and their recent bail reform are paying their salaries. 

Any serious law enforcement must be coordinated with Jewish Armed Patrols and trusted G-d fearing leaders who make sure law enforcement reinforcements from the City and State can be trusted to protect us coupled with law enforcement that deters further attacks.  We need true leaders who won't delegate the safety and security of our Communuty of G-d fearing individuals  to others unless these others are vetted to be trustworthy. The Guardian Angels come to mind. 

We don't want wolves or foxes guarding the hen house. 

We have good reason to be wary and suspucious as our lives literally depend on it. 

We demand swift prosecution and law enforcement with real negative consequences to perpetrators. Laws that deter crime rather than the opposite, as these new laws voted by a majority Democrat Council and Assembly, have proven to be disastrous and discourage the police with arresting hate crime perpetrators  knowing they will be set free.

We demand immediate repeal of these laws!

Soros is funding decriminalization legislation.  His funds must be illegal and rejected as they promote lawlessness and anarchy. 

The only message Cuomo and deBlasio must hear is that we have lost confidence in the Democrats and the direction they are taking and we want them voted out!

As Orthodox Jewish elected officials, thank you so much for a thankless job of representing all New Yorkers in this very difficult time especially  with the rise of antisemitism and hate crimes in NY.  We surely don't envy  your job in a hostile work environment. Your devotion and hard work is greatly appreciated.

Here are important concerns regarding your letter to Governor Cuomo. [1]

When the elected Democratic Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio aligns with the likes of Linda Sarsour [2] can Governor Cuomo, a Democrat, be trusted and depended on to be in charge of enforcing and providing for  security and safety of NYCity Jews?

Case in point:

Was Governor Cuomo successful in stopping Linda Sarsour from speaking at CUNY in spite of the large protest campaign for him to do so?

 Arent the Governor's hands tied due to the political leanings of his party?

 How can we be sure the security detail of the Patrol brigade is vetted even if funding is allocated?

Is the Governors BDS Executive Order in name only or has it been enforced? What office can one turn on order to put in a claim and has any claims been investigated and found guilty  followed up with consequences?

Eg Has Park Slope Food Coop been  investigated and by whom? [3]

The latest antisemitic attack in New York, in which a man brandishing a machete attacked five religious Jews at a Hanukkah party in Monsey, has many Jews worried again about violent antisemitism.

For years, the left — and the media — have told us President Donald Trump is somehow to blame for such horrific attacks, based on false claims that he is linked to white supremacy. But the suspects in many recent antisemitic attacks have hardly been white supremacists.

The fact is that antisemitism is not just confined to white supremacists. On college campuses, antisemitism is often associated with anti-Israel activism, often (though not exclusively) by Muslim student groups. Antisemitism also persists within radical movements in the black community and elsewhere.

The good news is that antisemitism is still is a fringe phenomenon in most American communities. The bad news is that the antisemitic fringe can still be very destructive.

Unfortunately, the media have politicized the issue through shoddy, ideologically-driven reporting. When President Donald Trump recently signed an executive order protecting Jews, for example, the New York Times reported it as the opposite.

The threat is real, but misplaced, irrational fear can lead to paralysis — or, worse, to mistakes that could make the problem worse.

Fortunately, there are steps that we Jews can take to improve our own safety and well-being.

1. Support, and make use, of, the Second Amendment. American Jews have the unique advantage of living in a country where the right to keep and bear arms is enshrined in the Constitution. Jews need to make it clear that if we are attacked, we will shoot back — whether personally or through the assistance of armed guards at our institutions. Israel is strong today because it is willing and able to use force to protect itself. American Jews should be as well.

2. Celebrate and reward leaders who help Jews and Israel. You don't have to like or agree with President Trump to acknowledge what he has done more for Jews and Israel. (Alan Dershowitz called Trump's executive order "[o]ne of the most important events in the 2,000-year battle against anti-Semitism.") But too many of our Jewish leaders and institutions have treated Trump as part of the problem. Why should anyone help us, if that is how we respond?

3. Demand political accountability from minority leaders, too. Thirty years ago, during a similar period of antisemitism in New York, Al Sharpton fanned the flames of hatred. Today he is treated as a civil rights leader. He has a television show on MSNBC and every Democrat candidate for president has courted his support. Even Jewish leaders fail to call him out. Sharpton is just one example of an awful double standard that can no longer be tolerated.

4. Light candles. We Jews are understandably sensitive to prejudice and physical threats, but Jewish continuity depends on more than the absence of antisemitism. It also depends on us doing our part to keep our traditions alive, and to pass them on to the next generation. We should not just light candles at Hanukkah; we should also light our candles every Friday evening to welcome the Jewish Sabbath, a practice that has maintained us through generations.

5. Have courage, and know from Whom protection comes. There is no reason to live in fear — especially if we take the steps above. And — as bizarre as it may sound, to some reading this — we Jews need to be less hostile to expressions of faith in the public square. Though earlier generations feared coercion, for understandable reasons, that is no longer a serious risk. People of genuine faith are our best allies in this fight; we should embrace them.
