This reminds me of a scenario long long ago....
When King Saul was overly compassionate with the Amalekites, Shmuel Hanavie told him.
כגכִּי חַטַּאת קֶסֶם מֶרִי וְאָוֶן וּתְרָפִים הַפְצַר יַעַן מָאַסְתָּ אֶת דְּבַר יְהֹוָה וַיִּמְאָסְךָ מִמֶּלֶךְ:
23 For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and stubbornness is as idolatry and teraphim. Since you rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you from being a king."
כד וַיֹּאמֶר שָׁאוּל אֶל שְׁמוּאֵל חָטָאתִי כִּי עָבַרְתִּי אֶת פִּי יְהֹוָה וְאֶת דְּבָרֶיךָ כִּי יָרֵאתִי אֶת הָעָם וָאֶשְׁמַע בְּקוֹלָם:
24 And Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned, for I transgressed the Lord's command, and your words, for I feared the people, and I hearkened to their voice.
One day Netanyahu, you too will acknowledge that you Binyamin Netanyuhu and your administration and the IDF under your guidance did not fear G-d but rather you feared Obama, you feared the UN, you feared the EU.

Due to recent current events I now better understand this Biblical Story.
It may appear like G-d is overly harsh with King Saul. After all, King Saul destroyed most of the Amalekites. He only left King Agag and the choice cattle of Amalek which were to be brought as a sacrifice to G-d.
King Saul actually didn't even realize that he did anything wrong. He believed he fulfilled Hashem's mission in destroying Amalek. Never did he imagine that he had committed a transgression of such magnitude where the kingdom would be torn from him.
But now in light of current events in Israel, I have gained some understanding as per the magnitude of the transgression of misplaced compassion on the evildoer.
Mothers of Soldiers who would normally be proud of their sons who wish to sacrifice their lives for the sake of their people, for their country and volunteer for Golani or for Kfir, will now discourage their sons from joining dangerous elite defense units. Why should their sons be suckers? Why should they risk entering dangerous enemy territory as one enters a trap because the proper precautions are not in place? Mothers no longer trust the IDF leadership to act in the best military interest of their soldiers ever since standard moral military decision making process have been tainted and clouded by politics.
Jewish sacrifices be it from Jenin, Operation Cast Lead, or more recently from the Duma Blood Libel, Amiram ben Uliel, Elisha Odess, Meir Ettinger ben Tova...have unfortunately taught us, Mothers of soldiers or future soldiers, that the Defense Ministry under Boogie Yaalon and the IDF considers the safety of the Palestinian terrorist before the safety of our sons, and before Jewish lives.
Under the current rules of engagement by the IDF, it is not only IDF leadership and commanders who seriously endanger their soldiers, planting seeds of doubt as per whether or not to neutralize the terrorist when in doubt but also those who are involved in rescue. MDA (Magen David Adom) and ZAKA must think twice about allowing their rescue workers to go to the scene of a Pigua, a terror attack, knowing that the IDF Soldiers will hesitate to neutralize terrorists when there is any question.
Should MDA(Magen David Adom) or ZAKA discourage rescue workers from risking their lives under Netanyahu and under the current IDF rules of engagement or should they send them like sheep to the slaughter?
