In response to Berel Wein's articles "Disappointment" and "Pruzbul"

Re:  http://www.rabbiwein.com/Jerusalem-Post/2007/08/245.html  Disappointment by Rabbi Berel Wein

Rabbi Berel Wein talks about Disappointment and I am very disappointed in Berel Wein. I liked the first 2 paragraphs of this essay. Yishayahu and Yirmiyahu are correct to be disappointed in Am Yisroel.  Yes I do expect more from Rabbi Wein and from Am Yisroel.  We can do much better and in fact in we don't get down to business, I fear we are in big trouble.  Berel Wein talks about our disappointment in the Zionist State.  Is he excusing his own unwillingness to claim Eretz Yisroel as his rightful heritage.  Zionism with the formation of the State of Israel has its failings but in fairness, did Torah Jewry at the time claim Eretz Yisroel.   Is Berel Wein not addressing and/or excusing our own unwillingness to observe the Mitzvot at face value.  Hasn't Berel Wein instead lowered his expectations from Hashem in delivering His promises if we keep the Mitzvoth and fails to accept any responsibility on the part of Rabbinic Leadership as per how Am Yisroel has properly been keeping Mitzvoth.  Let Rabbi Wein ask himself how is it possible to keep the Mitzvoth in Chumash Devarim which are primarily Mitzvoth that we are to observe in Eretz Yisroel if the mainstream Rabbanim have not even publicly declared that Eretz Yisroel is our rightful Heritage.  Rabbi Wein may answer as other Rabbinic Leaders, that if we do not have the Land then we are excused from keeping the Mitzvoth dependant on the Land.  If this is the case, should we allow our right hand  to be cut off so that we be excused from keeping tefillin. Let's say, our right hand is sick.  Should we attempt to amputate it or cure it?   How can we function properly without a right hand? No wonder Zionism was such a failure.  The majority of Shomrei Torah and Mitzvoth do not even think that Eretz Yisroel is necessary to keep the Torah.  2000 years of Galus has shown that we can properly keep Torah without Eretz Yisroel.  Ki Mitzion Tezei Torah!  Why isn't Torath Eretz Yisroel coming from Rabbi Berel Wein?  There is no outcry from the majority of mainstream Rabbinic Leaders when Bush talks about a 2 State Solution.  Only the Evangelical Christians like John Hagee quotes from Chumash Breishis and the Covenant Hashem makes with Avraham.  What is Rabbi Wein and the other Rabbinic Leaders thinking when they says in Selichos  Vayikra 26 Pasuk (42) "Vezacharti as Brisi Yaakov, Veaf as Brisi Yitzchok, Veaf es Brisi Avraham Ezkor, Vehaaretz Ezkor".  Please visit http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/search?q=Vezacharti+

One can and should have great expectations from Hashem.  However, if we fail to keep our end of the bargain then Hashem doesn't keep His.   If we find that we have indeed kept all the Mitzvoth as the Torah requires then we can say that these times are Yesurim shel Ahava.  However, if we are honest, then we will clearly see that we need to raise the level of our observance and surely Hashem will raise His level of blessings.  Any other conclusions regarding the Zionist State as being disappointing is only because we fail to look inward at our own observances and find them disappointing.    It is no surprise that Rabbi Wein finds that Hillel's institution of Pruzbul as having many positive results. See http://www.rabbiwein.com/Jerusalem-Post/2007/09/250.html It seems to me quite clear that Rabbi Wein is not connecting the dots.  Keeping Shmita properly brings security in the Land.

Rabbi Wein does not seem to see any connection between the bombardment of Sederot with the abandonment of Gush Katif.  The Abandonment of Gush Katif was clearly because Am Yisroel did not cry out against it and allowed it to happen.  Did Rabbi Wein and the mainstream Rabbanim in Eretz Yisroel (the  Gedoilim) or in America (e.g. Agudath Yisroel of America, the OU etc) at any point speak out against the destruction of beautiful communities and their means of Parnassa? Did they carefully examine the observance of Shmita and the other Mitzvoth teluyot Baaretz in Gush Katif? Doesn't Hashem promise that if we observe the Mitzva of Shmita properly than we will live securely in our Land.  Anita Tucker told me that she had in fact wish to let the Land fallow.  However, the Badatz Hashgacha begged her to follow their direction as per keeping Shmita so that they wouldn't have to do business with the Arabs.  Did it occur to Rabbi Wein that perhaps the Rabbinic dispensation were not sufficiently good enough for Hashem?  Maybe Hashem said what He meant and meant what He said.   Apparently, Hashem is not happy with how we keep or rather how we are not keeping Shmita properly.  Tosfos you mention says that indeed Shmitta was never kept properly.  However, do you really think Hashem wishes to curse us?  Lo Bashamayim hi and the Mitzvoth are in our reach to do them.  We need the desire and longing. Let's for a moment suppose that it is not sufficient for us to rely on Rabbinic dispensations such as Pruzbul. People release their loans.  People need not pay back their debts.  Okay it would cause chaos.  However, Katrina and the War in Lebanon did not result in Chaos? Let's our imagination run a bit wild.   How about a nuclear attack on Washington DC or a Hurricane in NYC.   CHAOS!  Two small planes caused chaos on 9/11. Maybe Hashem wants us to experience a bit of Chaos and if not will force us in a situation where we are forced to share our resources.  Perhaps Pruzbul gives us the illusion that we are observing Shmita properly just like the security wall gives the residents the illusion that they are protected.  In fact quite the opposite is true.  The terrorists can throw over the wall or dig under the wall and when you try to catch them, the wall is blocking you from seeing where they are..   This was the advice an army general told the residents of Efrat when the intifada began. He advised them not to build a wall.  However as soon as the general became involved in politics, pleasing the public was more important than actual security. He then agreed to building the wall because it gave the public the illusion of security and thereby satisfied their need to feel secure as opposed to actually being secure.  If you wish to know the name of this general please contact Yossi Baumol that lives in Efrat.

So does Berel Wein want  the people to have the illusion that they are keeping Mitzvoth properly or does he really want to keep Mitzvoth properly?  Does he simply want to be a historian of all of history's failures and repeat them or does he want to make history by truly living Torah and Life and learning from History's mistakes.

Rabbi Yitzchok Sorotzkin Teshuva: Stop the Talking Campaign. Going one step further... Yearn for Malchut Shamayim, Malchut Beit David, Beit Hamikdash.

bs"d

Rabbi Yitzchok Sorotzkin's Stop the Talking campaign going around, to encourage people to stop talking in shul https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6WgMPCtm1Y&safe=active leads us to a Yalkut Shimoni which describes how Am Yisroel must do Teshuva to dispel the prosecutors up in Heaven.

Let us get to the root of the matter....

Let's talk about Har Habayit, Temple Mount.  We can no longer afford to push off this discussion.

First thing in the morning to start the daily sacrifices on Har Habayit, the observer on the roof looks towards Hebron,

 Yoma Perek Gimmel Mishneh Aleph.

The Mishneh states (Courtesy of Artscroll)

"The   Administrator said to the assembled Kohanim; 'Go out and see if the time for slaughtering has arrived,," If it had arrived, the one who sees [it] (the observer on the roof) says "Barkai!"  (the sheen of the sun can already be seen)

Mattisya ben Shmuel says: (he was the administrator of the lots) 'The whole of the east has lit up.' 'as far as Hebron?' And he (the observer on the roof) says Yes!!

This Mishneh is talking about how when the sacrifices in the Har Habayit in Yerushalayim commence each morning, it must be determined that indeed it is daylight. The Mishneh discusses how this is determined and Hebron, the burial place of our forefathers is a key player.

Our discussion about Hebron leads us to digress a bit to talk about the Covenant that G-d made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob buried in Hebron.

Vayikra 26 Pasuk (42) "Vezacharti as Brisi Yaakov, Veaf as Brisi Yitzchok, Veaf es Brisi Avraham Ezkor, Vehaaretz Ezkor". I will remember My Covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My covenant with Abraham will I remember, and I will remember the Land. (43)The Land will be bereft of them; and it will be appeased for its sabbaticals having become desolate of them; and they must gain appeasement for their iniquity, because they were revolted by My ordinances and because their spirit rejected My decrees.

The Covenant of Yaakov is in Breishis Perek 28 Pasukim 13-16.
The Covenant to Yitzchok is Breishis Perek 26 Pesukim 2-6.
The Covenant with Avraham is Breishis Perek 15 Pesukim 18-21.

The Covenants and promises to the forefathers share three points.
1. Land is promised to them and to their children afterwords
2. The Nations of the world are blessed through them and
3. the children must keep the commandments in order to be worthy of the Land.

How can we be complacent regarding giving away Judea and Samaria?

Surely we forego any possibility of observing the Shemittah or the rest of the commandments dependent on the Land.

Where is the cry "THIS IS OUR LAND"?

Why has there been silence when the White House annuls the Covenant between G-d and our forefathers and the people of Israel by accusing us of "an occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years".

The Six Day War in 1967  won by Israel via open miracles not legitimate? Is the Covenant that G-d sealed with us when He took us out of Egypt to bring us to the Land of Israel not binding in our day and age?

 ZOA  reports:
In a critical moment, Mr. McDonough adopted Palestinian talking points, declaring, "An occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years must end.. and the Palestinian people must have the right to live in and govern themselves in their own sovereign state." ('White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough Remarks As Prepared at J Street Annual Conference,' March 23, 2015).

The Torah in Nitzavim Perek 29 Pasuk 23 says And all the nations will say, "For what reason did Hashem do so to this Land; why this wrathfulness of great anger?" (24)And they will say, "Because they forsook the Covenant of Hashem, the G-d of their forefathers, that He sealed with them when He took them out of the Land of Egypt, and they went and served the gods of others and prostrated themselves to them, gods that they knew not and He did not apportion to them. So G-d's anger flared against that Land to bring upon the entire curse that is written in this Book; and Hashem removed them from upon their soil with anger, with wrath, and with fury and He cast them to another land as this very day! The hidden[sins] are for Hashem, our G-d but the revealed [sins] are for us and our children forever, to carry out all the words of this Torah."

Our Rabbis instituted prayer as a temporary substitute ever since the Temple was destroyed.

If one delves into every part of the liturgy, starting with Modeh Ani, going to the Bracha of Tzizit, Tefilin, Mah Tovu, reciting of Akeida, Karbanot, .....Yearning for Har Habayit, the Temple Mount, is central to every single prayer.

So let us return to our discussion about the Tefilla campaign.

This Tefila campaign, not to speak in the Beit Knesset, the shul,  which is a Beit Mikdash Mi'at, a little Temple, must connect to the very root, which is our deepest yearning to return to the Avoda in the Beis Hamikdash, Temple Mount, the very place Chosen by G-d, the Great Temple.  This in turn connects us with Hebron and the Covenant G-d made with our forefathers.

Tefilla as did Sacrifice, is supposed to lead us to closeness to G-d.  When we consider our prayers akin to the sacrifices, we need to cry because in Today's world we can't serve G-d in the Temple like we once did.

After the Har Nof massacre in the Beit Knesseth, and after the terrible fire in Flatbush with 7 pure souls were returned to G-d in heaven, we are in deep pain because we sense that if we did have the Beit Hamikdash and the ability to bring the Karbonot it would have been Mechaper us an atonement. Does Hashem have no better option than to take human sacrifice like in Har Nof or in Midwood to be Mechaper Israel r"l.

Rabbi Sorotzkin seems to strongly give over the message that talking in Tefila is an insult to G-d and that has brought upon Israel horrible tragedies.

Surely this makes sense because to be Mezalzel Tefila, to make light of our prayers,  is to be Mezalzel the Avoda, to make light of Temple service in the Beis HaMikdash.

Only G-d can read the service of the heart.  While it is true that talking instead of praying is indicative of lack of respect and shows lack of reverence it is also true that one can be saying all the right words, have impeccable decorum, yet still lack closeness to G-d.

Most of us can attest that at times prayers can be mere lip service..

In fact Rav Sorotzkin ends his talk describing a scene where all the Tzadikim righteous souls are defending Israel saying how much Chesed, kindness the People of Israel do and how many Mitzvoth they do etc. yet it is not enough...

He then brings down a Yalkut Shimoni that there are three things that Israel despised

Maasu B'malchut Shamayim They despised the Kingdom of Heaven
not machshiv Beis Dovid       and the Davidic Kingdom
Ubibinyan Beis Hamikdash    and the building of the Beis Hamikdash.

and until there is a Tikkun on these three things, we won't be zocheh to leave this Galus.

Let us elaborate...

Maasu B'Malchut Shamayim.  Despising the kingdom of heaven...

We remember the Malchut Shamayim on Rosh Hashana in Malchiyut.  We pray that all the Nations of the world will recognize Hashem and His Kingship.  For that we need to be willing to take a leadership position in the world.  Har Habayit is the key for this to happen.  The Nations of the world will stream to Jerusalem and bring gifts to Hashem.

 Isaiah Chapter 2

1. The word that Isaiah, son of Amoz, prophesied concerning Judah and Jerusalem.  א2. And it shall be at the end of the days, that the Mountain of the Lord's House shall be firmly established at the top of the mountains, and it shall be raised above the hills, and all the nations shall stream to it.   ב3. And many peoples shall go, and they shall say, "Come, let us go up to the Lord's mount, to the House of the God of Jacob, and let Him teach us of His ways, and we will go in His paths," for out of Zion shall the Torah come forth, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.   ג4. And he shall judge between the nations and reprove many peoples, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift the sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.   ד5. "O house of Jacob, come and let us go in the light of the Lord."

Isaiah 11:9  "They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as water covers the sea"

We need to be Mevakesh these three items as it says in Hoshea 3:5
5. Afterwards shall the children of Israel return, and seek the Lord their God and David their king, and they shall come trembling to the Lord and to His goodness at the end of days.

Achar  Yashvu Bnei Yisroel, if Bnei Yisroel will return once again,
Uvikshu es Hashem Elokeychem.  They will ask for Hashem their G-d.  (This is Malchut Shamayim)
Ves Dovid Malchum  They will ask for the Kingdom of David
Upachado as Tuvam, they will want His goodness, this is the Beis Hamikdash.

Hoshea   tells us the importance of understanding the Chashivos (great importance) of
  • Chashivus Malchus Shamayim
  • Chashivus Malchus Beis Dovid
  • Chashivos Malchus Mikdash

Yerushalyim Ircha BeRachamim Tashuv.

Surely one can not imagine that in Har Nof there was lack of decorum, among those brutally murdered....

Hoshea may be the key to better understand why this tragedy happened.

The key is Unity of Am Yisroel so much noted by the parents of those recently sacrificed namely the parents of the 3 boys and the family members of the Har Nof massacre and the Father of the Sassoon family.

Let me suggest the following:

The Secular yearn for a Malchus Shamayim.  A Jewish Kingdom where Israel is involved in Tikkun Olam and being a light onto the Nations.

The Chareidim yearn be be Holy and separate.

When there is appreciation between the Secular and Chareidi Jews of the value of each others yearning, to be a Kingdom of Priests, a Holy Nation serving the Nations of the World then we will be deserving of dissipating our enemies without war and without human sacrifice.

Let us yearn for the return o the Davidic Kingdom and the return of the Temple and the Holy Sacrifices where Israel will be known far and wide as a Mamlechet Kohanim veGoy Kadosh a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation..

DOCUMENTATION AND BIBLICAL REFERENCES: Defending the Covenant! Israel is the Promised Land to the Nation of Israel EXCLUSIVELY. This is fundamental to our Torah.

bs"d

Can the Rabbanim testify to the following and publicize? References follow...
  • The Land of Israel is G-d's Promised Land to the Nation of Israel as an everlasting inheritance. This is fundamental to the Torah. Anyone that denies this fundamental truth denies the Torah. Non Jews have the status of a Ger Toshav.  Ger Toshav is a term in Judaism for a non-Jew living in the Land of Israel who accepts upon him/herself Israel's Sovereignty and observes the Noahide Laws.  They too have civil rights.
  • The Land of Israel is a Holy Land. The Nation of Israel is required to settle the land and sanctify the Land by keeping the Commandments, Precepts and Ordinances in the Torah thus being a Light unto the Nations.
  • Doing so, Hashem will bestow His  Blessings upon Israel and upon the Nations of the World through them.
  • Hashem is True to Keep His Promise
  • The boundaries of Israel are delineated in the Torah in Bamidbar /Numbers. These boundaries were then divided among the Tribes according to their families based on those that left Egypt and those who entered the Land as specified in the Torah. Joshua was instructed to lead the people to conquer the Land and live a Torah true lifestyle. The entire Nation was expected to participate in conquering the Land and not to allow their fellow brother to shoulder the burden on their own.   This set a precedent for all generations.
  • The Entire Land belongs to G-d and only He has the authority to give it to whom He wishes.
  • The Shemittah year is testimony that the Land belongs to G-d.
  • Three Holiest places in Israel were parcels of land that was bought and documented purchases in the Bible. These spots are the most contested.
    • Maarat HaMachpela- Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron
    • Har HaBayit - Temple Mount by King David
    • Kever Yosef  - Joseph's Tomb in Shchem (Nablus)
  • Any attempt to give away the Land is null and void,  Great Assembly at Marienbad
Halacha LeMaaseh:   Applying These Statements to Today's Realities.
  1. It was a terrible mistake to destroy 22 beautiful communities in Gush Katif in 2005. We must learn from our mistakes!
  2. The government of Israel should not demolish any Jewish homes, not in Amona, not  in Judea and Samaria,  nor anywhere else throughout Israel as they did in Gush Katif in order to placate the Nations of the World.  It serves to nullify the Torah and brings danger, destruction and terror.
  3. The Gov't of Israel should not be afraid to assert Jewish Sovereignty  and proceed to demolish the illegal structures of the Beduin squatters in the Israeli town of Sussiya and elsewhere.  No country would tolerate the takeover of Land by a foreign entity.
  4. The Rabbis protest  UNESCO's resolutions to obliterate any Jewish connection to our H-ly Jewish Heritage sites by altering their names  Such H-ly Jewish Heritage Sites include and are not limited to
    • Temple Mount, known as Har HaMoriah. Har HaBayit, Site of the H-ly Temples, Site of Akeidath Yitzchok
    • Maarat HaMachpela - Tomb of the Patriarchs - Chevron ( Hebron)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DOCUMENTATION AND REFERENCES:

Israel is the Promised Land to the Nation of Israel. This is fundamental to the Torah. Anyone that denies this fundamental truth denies the Torah.
Background:

G-d Promised the Land of Israel to the seed of Avrohom, Yitzchok and Yaakov. This Birthright goes to  children of Yaakov Avinu, as an everlasting inheritance.

The descendants of the Children of Yaakov Avinu became the 12 Tribes of Israel. Jews of today are primarily descendant from the Tribe of Judah, Benjamin and Levy the remnant of the dispersion of the 2nd Temple. Recently with the return of the exiles, Israel has welcomed Ethiopians Jews, Bnei Menasheh and others going back further in time.

The name Israel is another name G-d gave to Yaakov Avinu after he fought with the Sar shel Eisav, Eisav's angel. (Breishit 32:25-29)

This covenant to our forefathers was repeated to Moshe Rabbeinu following the worship of the Golden Calf. Hashem remains true to His Promise to our forefathers.

This Covenant is repeated in the Prophets and recited daily in the morning prayers (Pesukei DeZimra) (4)

The Promise is reiterated in the portions of the Tefillin

The Covenant with Avraham

Breshit, Lech-Lecha (12:1): Note the FIRST topic G-d raises with the first Jew in the world (Abraham) is  Eretz Yisrael.

Breishith 15:18-21. Extended boundaries

On that day Hashem made a covenant with Abram saying; "To your descendants have I given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River, the Kennite, the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, and the Rephaim; the Amorite, the Cananite, the Girgashite and the Jebusite"

Then again in Parshas Lech Lecha before Hashem commands Avraham and his household to do Bris Mila (circumcision) Hashem says Perek 17, Pasuk 2 "I will set My covenant between Me and you and I will increase you most exceedingly". After Hashem changes Avrams name to Avraham He says Pasuk 7 "I will ratify My covenant between Me and you and between your offspring after you, throughout their generations, as an everlasting covenant, to be a G-d to you and to your offspring after you, and I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojourns - the whole of the land of Canaan -as an everlasting possession; and I shall be a G-d to them." Then Hashem describes the covenant that Avraham should keep - the Bris Milah. Pasuk 13 "Thus, My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant."

In Parshas Vayera when Hashem decides to inform Avraham of his decision to wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah, Perek 18 Pasuk 18 "And Hashem said, 'Shall I conceal from Abraham what I do, now that Abraham is surely to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by him? For I have loved him, because he commands his children and the household after him that they keep the way of Hashem, doing charity and justice, in order that Hashem might then bring upon Abraham that which He had spoken of him."

Following the Akeida in Breishis 22 Pasuk 15 it says "The angel of Hashem called to Abraham, a second time from heaven. And he said, "By Myself I swear - the word of Hashem - that because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only one, that I shall surely bless you and greatly increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore; and your offspring shall inherit the gate of its enemy. And all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your offspring, because you have listened to My voice."

The Covenant to Yitzchok is Breishith 26:2-6.

"Hashem appeared to him and said, "Do not descend to Egypt; dwell in the land that I shall indicate to you. Sojourn in this land I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your offspring will I give all these lands, and establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father; I will increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens; and will give to your offspring all these lands; and all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your offspring. Because Abraham obeyed My voice, and observed My safeguards, My commandments, My decrees, and my Torahs.

The Covenant of Yaakov is in Breishis 28:13-16.

"And behold! Hashem was standing over him, and He said, "I am Hashem, G-d of Abraham your father and G-d of Isaac; the ground upon which you are lying, to you will I give it and to your descendants. Your offspring shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread out powerfully westward, eastward, northward and southward; and all the families of the earth shall bless themselves by you and by your offspring. Behold. I am with you; I will guard you wherever you go, and I will return you to this soil; for I will not forsake you until I will have done what I have spoken about you."

The Covenants and promises to the forefathers share some of the following points.
Land is promised to them and to their children afterwards
They will multiply as the dust or sand of the earth and as the stars
The Nations of the world are blessed through them
The children must keep the commandments in order to be worthy of the Land.

And G-d promised Moses that He will remember the Covenant He made with our forefathers Leviticus 26:42

42 and I will remember My covenant [with] Jacob, and also My covenant [with] Isaac, and also My covenant [with] Abraham I will remember. And I will remember the Land,
that even when Israel sins, G-d will remember the Covenant He made with our forefathers.

And indeed when Israel sinned with the Golden calf Moses prayed on behalf of Israel and begs G-d to spare them Exodus 32:13

13 "Remember for the sake of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, Your servants whom You swore by Yourself, and You told them, I shall increase their offspring like the stars of heaven. and this entire land of which I spoke, I shall give to your offspring, and it shall be their heritage forever."  translation from Stone Chumash

On Rosh Hashana in shul we include Hashem's Promise Vayikra 26 Pasuk (42) in the Zichronos
"Vezacharti as Brisi Yaakov, Veaf as Brisi Yitzchok, Veaf es Brisi Avraham Ezkor, Vehaaretz Ezkor". I will remember My Covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My Covenant with Abraham will I remember, and I will remember the Land. "

Faith-fullness to G-d's Covenant is not only basic and a fundamental principle to Judaism but is  basic and true principle for humanity. We learn this from the Covenant Hashem made with Noah and his descendants.
After the flood, God sealed a covenant with Noah with the following admonitions (Genesis 9)
The Seven Laws of Noah (Hebrewשבע מצוות בני נח‎‎ Sheva Mitsvot Bne Noah), also referred to as the Noahide Lawsor the Noachide Laws (from the English transliteration of the Hebrew pronunciation of "Noah"), are a set of imperatives which, according to the Talmud, were given by God [1] as a binding set of laws for the "children of Noah" – that is, all of humanity.[2][3]
The seven Noahide laws as traditionally enumerated are:[7]
    1. Do not deny God.
    2. Do not blaspheme God.
    3. Do not murder.
    4. Do not engage in illicit sexual relations.
    5. Do not steal.
    6. Do not eat from a live animal.
    7. Establish courts/legal system to ensure obedience to the law.
A rainbow is a reminder of the Covenant that G‑d made with Noah, his descendants, and all living creatures. Therefore, upon seeing a rainbow in the sky, we recite the following blessing:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֶלוֹקינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם זוֹכֵר הַבְּרִית וְנֶאֱמָן בִּבְרִיתוֹ וְקַיָם בְּמַאֲמָרוֹ

Baruch ata Ado-shem Elo-keinu melech ha'olam zocher ha'brit v'ne'eman bivrito v'kayam b'ma'amaro.

Blessed are You, Lord our G‑d, King of the universe, who remembers the covenant, and is faithful to His covenant, and keeps His promise.

In the prophets and every day in the Pesukei D'Zimra we remember how Abraham was a faithful servant keeping
G-d's  laws and Statutes and that Hashem will keep his part of the Covenant because He is righteous.

Nechemia Chapter 9

This Prayer recited every morning in Pesukei DeZimra

You are the L-rd G-d, Who chose Abram, took him out of Ur of the Chaldees and made his name Abraham.

Devorim 11: 21`
לְמַעַן יִרְבּוּ יְמֵיכֶם, וִימֵי בְנֵיכֶם, עַל הָאֲדָמָה, אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם לָתֵת לָהֶם--כִּימֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם, עַל-הָאָרֶץ.  {ס}
 that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, upon the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. {S}

Yovel May Moshiach come and tell us which tribes we belong to.

The entire book of Leviticus pertains to the Service in the Temple which can only be done on Har HaBayit which is on Temple Mount.

The Entire Land belongs to G-d and only He has the authority to give it to whom He wishes

Bereishit (Genesis 1:1-6:8)
The First Rashi "Rebbe Yitzchak said, '[God] need only have begun the Torah from 'This month shall be to you" which is the first Commandment which Israel was commanded. For what reason did it begin with 'Bereishit'?... So that if the nations of the world will say to Israel, 'You are bandits, for you conquered the lands of the seven nations' Israel will say to them, 'The whole earth belongs to the Holy One, Blessed is He; He created it and He gave it to the one found proper in His eyes. By His wish He gave it to them, and by His wish He took it from them and gave it to us.'" (Rashi, Bereishit 1:1) Read more at http://www.aish.com/tp/i/gl/173304521.html

VaYikra 25:23. Eretz Yisrael must not be sold to others (and obviously not given away to them for free!)

Bamidbar 34: 1-12
Numbers Chapter 34 בְּמִדְבַּר

א  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
ב  צַו אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם, כִּי-אַתֶּם בָּאִים, אֶל-הָאָרֶץ כְּנָעַן:  זֹאת הָאָרֶץ, אֲשֶׁר תִּפֹּל לָכֶם בְּנַחֲלָה, אֶרֶץ כְּנַעַן, לִגְבֻלֹתֶיהָ. 2 'Command the children of Israel, and say unto them: When ye come into the land of Canaan, this shall be the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to the borders thereof.
ג  וְהָיָה לָכֶם פְּאַת-נֶגֶב מִמִּדְבַּר-צִן, עַל-יְדֵי אֱדוֹם; וְהָיָה לָכֶם גְּבוּל נֶגֶב, מִקְצֵה יָם-הַמֶּלַח קֵדְמָה. 3 Thus your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin close by the side of Edom, and your south border shall begin at the end of the Salt Sea eastward;
ד  וְנָסַב לָכֶם הַגְּבוּל מִנֶּגֶב לְמַעֲלֵה עַקְרַבִּים, וְעָבַר צִנָה, והיה (וְהָיוּ) תּוֹצְאֹתָיו, מִנֶּגֶב לְקָדֵשׁ בַּרְנֵעַ; וְיָצָא חֲצַר-אַדָּר, וְעָבַר עַצְמֹנָה. 4 and your border shall turn about southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass along to Zin; and the goings out thereof shall be southward of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall go forth to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon;
ה  וְנָסַב הַגְּבוּל מֵעַצְמוֹן, נַחְלָה מִצְרָיִם; וְהָיוּ תוֹצְאֹתָיו, הַיָּמָּה. 5 and the border shall turn about from Azmon unto the Brook of Egypt, and the goings out thereof shall be at the Sea.
ו  וּגְבוּל יָם, וְהָיָה לָכֶם הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל וּגְבוּל; זֶה-יִהְיֶה לָכֶם, גְּבוּל יָם. 6 And for the western border, ye shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your west border.
ז  וְזֶה-יִהְיֶה לָכֶם, גְּבוּל צָפוֹן:  מִן-הַיָּם, הַגָּדֹל, תְּתָאוּ לָכֶם, הֹר הָהָר. 7 And this shall be your north border: from the Great Sea ye shall mark out your line unto mount Hor;
ח  מֵהֹר הָהָר, תְּתָאוּ לְבֹא חֲמָת; וְהָיוּ תּוֹצְאֹת הַגְּבֻל, צְדָדָה. 8 from mount Hor ye shall mark out a line unto the entrance to Hamath; and the goings out of the border shall be at Zedad;
9 and the border shall go forth to Ziphron, and the goings out thereof shall be at Hazar-enan; this shall be your north border.
י  וְהִתְאַוִּיתֶם לָכֶם, לִגְבוּל קֵדְמָה, מֵחֲצַר עֵינָן, שְׁפָמָה. 10 And ye shall mark out your line for the east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham;
יא  וְיָרַד הַגְּבֻל מִשְּׁפָם הָרִבְלָה, מִקֶּדֶם לָעָיִן; וְיָרַד הַגְּבֻל, וּמָחָה עַל-כֶּתֶף יָם-כִּנֶּרֶת קֵדְמָה. 11 and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down, and shall strike upon the slope of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;
12 and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and the goings out thereof shall be at the Salt Sea; this shall be your land according to the borders thereof round about.'

Joshua Chapter 15 -- description of the borders of Eretz Yisrael which most certainly include Jerusalem and the entire Judea and Samaria as well as Gush Katif (note the clear reference to Gaza (the vicinity of Gush Katif) being part of  the inheritance of the  tribe of Judah.

Gemara (Talmud), Eruvin, 45 Daf 1.  Emphasizes that border communities must be defended even against Petty thieves (minor property crimes), even on Shabat. For those familiar with Talmudic logic, this teaches the importance of protecting one's borders hence one's country.

The Shemittah year is testimony that the Land belongs to G-d.
In Parshas Behar, the Torah says, "V'Haretz lo timacher l'tzmisus ki li kol ha'aretz…" "You shall not sell the land in perpetuity, for to Me belongs the entire land for you are sojourners and residents with Me." [Vayikra 25:23]

Three Holiest places in Israel were parcels of land that was bought and documented purchases in the Bible. These spots are the most contested.

It is the Cave of Machpela, the Tomb of Joseph in Nablus, and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem that are the most disputed pieces of land in Israel today?

It is these three pieces of land that are not only belong to the Jewish people by Divine right, but they were individually purchased, as well. Abraham purchased Hebron, Jacob purchased Nablus (Shchem), and David purchased Jerusalem.
Jews and Christians familiar with the Hebrew Bible are aware that the purchase of the Temple Mount by King David, the Cave of the Patriarchs by Abraham and the Tomb of Joseph by Jacob are clearly documented in the Bible.
The Temple Mount’s purchase is recorded in 1 Chronicles:
And David said to Ornan, “Give me the place of the threshing-floor, so that I may build thereon an altar to the Lord; give it to me for the full price, so that the plague be stayed from the people.” And Ornan said to David, “Take for yourself, and may my lord the king do what seems good in his eyes. See, I have given the cattle for burnt offerings, and the threshing tools for [fire] wood, and the wheat for a meal offering; I have given everything.” And King David said to Ornan, “No, for I will buy [it] for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, and offer up burnt offerings for nothing.” And David gave to Ornan for the place shekels of gold weighing six hundred. (I Chronicles 21:22-25)
The purchase of the Cave of the Patriarchs is recorded in Chapter 23 of Genesis:
And Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver that he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, accepted by the merchant. And so the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, facing Mamre, was established (as Abraham’s possession). [This included] the field and the cave that was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, which were within its entire border around. (Genesis 23:16-17)
The purchase of the land on which the Tomb of Joseph was built is recorded in Chapter 24 of the Book of Joshua:
The bones of Joseph, which the Children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, were buried in Shechem in a parcel of land Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred pieces of silver, and it became a heritage for the children of Joseph. (Joshua 24:32)
Although no money was exchanged, the Bible also records the burial of Rachel by Jacob:
So Rachel died, and she was buried on the road to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. And Jacob erected a monument on her grave; that is the tombstone of Rachel until this day. (Genesis 35:19-20)

Any attempt to give away the Land is null and void (8) Great Assembly at Marienbad 1937

...The text of the resolution of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah contains the statements:  "The foundation of the Jewish people's right to the Holy Land is based on the Torah and the prophets.... A Jewish State not based on the principles of Torah is a denial of Jewish origin, is opposed to the identity and to the true stature of our people, and undermines the basis of existence of our people...Any relinquishment of the Holy Land given to the Jewish people by G-d has no validity" (HaPardes, 11:6) See page 8  http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2014/11/knessiah-gedolah-of-marienbad-moetzet.html

Pope Francis visit to Israel and to the "State of Palestine"????. Please Rabbanim, Speak up כי מציון תצה תורה, ודבר ה' מירושלים...נֵצַח יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יְשַׁקֵּר

Here are some recent news items and posts and comments as per Pope Francis's recent visit to the Middle East.

Pope to Abbas: Mr President, you are known as a man of peace and a peacemaker. Our recent meeting in the Vatican and my presence today in Palestine attest to the good relations existing between the Holy See and the State of Palestine.

Reported around the world:

Euro News
Pope Francis says only message to Holy Land is one of Peace
"We are praying from our hearts and we'd like to see today an end of Israeli occupation; we want to see an end to any suffering, any people killed for nothing. We look at him praying and from this visit can hope for our people to have freedom like his, having our own state and to having our capital in Jerusalem," said one elderly local man.http://www.euronews.com/2014/05/25/pope-francis-says-only-message-to-holy-land-is-one-of-peace/

JERUSALEM (AP) — Pope Francis delivered a powerful boost of support to the Palestinians during a Holy Land pilgrimage Sunday, repeatedly backing their statehood aspirations, praying solemnly at Israel's controversial separation barrier and calling the stalemate in peace efforts "unacceptable."  Palestinian officials hailed Francis' decision to refer to the "state of Palestine." In its official program, the Vatican referred to President Mahmoud Abbas as the president of the "State of Palestine," and his Bethlehem office as the "presidential palace." He pointedly called Abbas a "man of peace." http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/05/25/pope-francis-refers-to-state-of-palestine-on-holy-land-trip-calls-mahmoud-abbas-a-man-of-peace/

Pope Makes Surprise Stop to Pray at Bethlehem Separation Wall

In Bethlehem on Sunday morning, Francis stopped for a moment of prayer at the security barrier on his way to celebrate a Mass at Manger Square. His friend, Rabbi Skorka, who traveled with him, told Army Radio that in that moment Pope Francis prayed for peace so the wall could be dismantled. (see Robin's comment #1)

PM Netanyahu's Remarks at his Meeting with Pope Francis at the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center
(Monday, May 26th, 2014)

At Monday's meeting with Pope Francis, Netanyahu also told him about a televised report on Channel 10, which showed children in a refugee camp in the West Bank Palestinian city of Jenin, who held up toy guns and said that they wanted to die, so Israel would die."

"That is the true face of Palestinian incitement," Netanyahu said.

Yasher Koach to Prime Minister Netanyahu for telling the Pope that Jesus spoke Hebrew not only Aramaic.( Even Reuters and Ala Arabia admit Netanyahu, son of a historian had a valid point).

Hebrew or Aramaic? Pope, Netanyahu spar over Jesus' native language

This is an especially important lesson after Mahmoud Abbas Claimed Jesus was a 'Palestinian'. PA chairman's Christmas message contains worn canard about Jesus. Israel quips: 'We forgive him, he knows not what he does.'

Minister Bennett Says Pope's Eyes are 'Kind'

Robin's Comments:

Netanyahu to Pope Francis. "We have to build walls against those who teach the other side"

My comments:  If Israel would be Sovereign over Judea and Samaria and reject those teaching hate on the other side and only accept and welcome in as residents, those who welcome Jewish Sovereignty and abide by the Seven Noahide Laws, we would be able to take down the walls and there would be peace and prosperity!

Pope Francis explained that Israel has a right to exist and to be recognized internationally, while the Palestinians have a right to a sovereign homeland at Ben-Gurion Airport, where he was welcomed by Peres, Netanyahu, government ministers, and spiritual leaders,
My comments:Why do the Palestinians have a right to a Sovereign Homeland in Jerusalem, Judea and  Samaria?  Doesn't the Pontiff read the Bible? To whom was the Land of Israel Promised? Is the Pope familiar with G-d's Covenent  with Abraham and with Isaac and with Jacob and reiterated by Moses and the Prophets?http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2013/12/fwd-ey-eretz-yisroel-passages-in.html
What was the covenant promised individually to each of our Forefathers? The Covenant of Yaakov is in Breishis Perek 28 Pasukim 13-16. The Covenant to Yitzchok is Breishis Perek 26 Pesukim 2-6. The Covenant with Avraham is Breishis Perek 15 Pesukim 18-21. The Covenants and promises to the forefathers share three points. 1. Land is promised to them and to their children afterwards 2. The Nations of the world are blessed through them and 3. the children must keep the commandments in order to be worthy of the Land.

Pope to Abbas: Mr President, you are known as a man of peace and a peacemaker.
My comments: If Abbas is a Man of Peace and a Peacemaker then why did he join with just join with Hamas the Terror Organization???

Pope to Abbas: Our recent meeting in the Vatican and my presence today in Palestine attest to the good relations existing between the Holy See and the State of Palestine.
My comments:State of Palestine?  Actually Einat Wilf of the New York Post addresses that one pretty wellhttp://nypost.com/2014/05/22/what-pope-francis-can-do-for-mideast-peace/

Shimon Peres to the Pope: A society in which freedom of speech, the right to express oneself and the respect of holy sites are cornerstone values.
My comments: Is Freedom of speech limited to the Pope and the Palestinians but denied to the Settlers? Please read:

Letter from Eliezer re: Israel Police in Hysteria over the Pope's Visit

Shimon Peres to the Pope: I believe that your visit and call for peace will echo through the region and contribute to revitalizing the efforts to complete the peace process between us and the Palestinians, based on two states living in peace. A Jewish state – Israel. And an Arab state- Palestine.
My comments:Bad enough the Pope is talking about a Palestinian State. It's about time we cut our losses while we still can and we are still like the Lion King before Scar took over.

Robin's Final Comments In reading all the comments of the Pope that he made to the Palestinians and to Israeli's I think that the analysis of Rabbi Boteach hit it on the nose.  The Pope does not want to confront evil even when it is staring him in the face. Childlike Naivite.  Deep in his heart only G-d knows what he feels. I would like to believe as does Naftali Bennett that his eyes are Kind.  I would like to believe that he was sincere in trying to give over a message of peace to the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem known for his views that Jews are destined to be exterminated by Arabs  "May no one abuse the name of God through violence! May we work together for justice and peace! Salaam!"

How clueless can he be about the fact that a substantial percentage of the Christian population fled Bethleham and the widespread reports of Muslim Violence against Christians under Islam.

etc.

All I can say is that the time is ripe for our own Rabbi's to speak up and tell the world as did MK Naftali Bennett  "Welcome to the state of Israel," Bennett told the pontiff. "The state of Israel is the realization of the vision of the prophets, who foretold our return to the Holy Land, in the spirit of the verses 'the eternity of Israel shall not lie' and 'Torah shall spring forth from Zion.'"
