Robin,

Republicans in Alabama voted their consciences Tuesday, and the result is that, for the first time in 25 years, Alabama has a Democrat in a Republican Senate seat that should have been the safest safe space this side of UC-Berkeley.

Despite the crowing from the media and the national party, this doesn't represent any great realignment or rising wave support for liberal policies in Alabama. If Luther Strange or Mo Brooks had been the candidate, this would've been a rubber-stamp footnote of a story. Instead, it represented a "bridge too far" uneasiness with a particular candidate that caused many Republicans to stay home and just enough (nearly 23,000, or 1.7% of the vote) to write in a different candidate, and hand a squeaker victory to Doug Jones over Roy Moore by 49.9% to 48.4%. Even with an Obama-level turnout of black voters for Jones in urban areas, he was unable to top 50% and would have lost handily if so many Republicans hadn't rejected their own candidate and stayed home.

Texting on the job

By Mike Huckabee

Are you starting to suspect that the investigation of Russian collusion by the Trump campaign is cratering into a corrupt, money-squandering waste of time ($7 million and counting, and the only collusion it's turned up so far is between Hillary's campaign and Russia, and its own investigators colluding to defeat Trump)?  Well, never fear: Washington is a bottomless pit of endless, expensive investigations, which are a heck of a lot more fun than actually getting anything done.  Here's the investigation news round-up so far this week (and it's only Thursday):

Some of the texts exchanged between two FBI agents who were formerly on Robert Mueller's investigation team have been released.  Peter Strzok and Lisa Page wrote them throughout the election and were allegedly having an affair (is that now called "colluding" in Washington?)  As expected, they prove both agents despised Trump and called him "idiot," "loathsome" and other nasty names. Interesting twist for liberals: They also hated Bernie Sanders. Page was apparently such a Hillary Clinton partisan that she texted that she'd just seen her first "Bernie for President" bumper sticker and it "made me want to key the car."  Strzok texted back that Bernie is an idiot, too.  You know, all this might lead a cynic to suspect that they were biased and perhaps didn't belong on an impartial investigation of a political figure they openly despised.

Investigating the special investigator

By Mike Huckabee

Along with all the previous revelations of bias, leaks and cover-ups by Mueller's team, Trump attorney Jay Sekulow is calling for a special counsel to investigate the special counsel.  When I predicted that very thing a while back, it was sort of a joke, but this shows how difficult it is to make a joke these days that won't immediately become a real news item.  Sticklers argue that a DOJ inspector general is the official who investigates a special counsel.  Fine, but don't be surprised when there's a special counsel to investigate the inspector general who's investigating the special counsel (I give that joke six weeks before it comes true.)

New line of attack

By Mike Huckabee

Next, as if to tacitly signal that the "Russia collusion" hunters have got nuthin', Brave New Films, a "documentary" film company associated with Media Matters and George Soros, is promoting three women who accused Donald Trump of sexual harassment during the campaign.  They are repeating their charges and demanding that he resign.  More than 50 female Congress members immediately demanded an investigation into alleged sexual misconduct by Trump, all of which he has denied.

----------------------

Word of the year

By Mike Huckabee

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary has been leaning more and more PC in recent years, so it's no surprise that they just declared "feminism" to be the "word of the year" for 2017.  Okay, I can see that.  But here's a challenge for them: now define it in a way that everyone agrees with.

-----------------------

The moral high ground

By Mike Huckabee

One lesson that I seriously doubt the media will absorb is that it shatters the ridiculous narrative currently being peddled by the Democrats that they are suddenly the "moral high ground" party and it's Republicans who will abandon their moral principles for expediency.  If conservative Christians in Alabama really were hypocrites who practiced DC-style situational ethics, they would've pulled the lever for Moore without a second thought.  As for their support of Trump despite sexual harassment allegations against him, perhaps they forgot voters had two choices; and the Democrats were offering up the Clintons, the poster children for sexual misconduct and smearing the victims.  And that was after 25 years of the party telling us that character doesn't count and sexual behavior is personal and irrelevant for office, specifically to protect the Clintons!

Fwd: from Voice of Judea...regardless who wins, American Jews are in deep trouble (only if we dont put our faith in G-d...Robin)

Bsd

Many of these predictions of doom can actualize chas veshalom. However, those who trust in Hashem and remembers that He is All Powerful must have deep faith in His Salvation and trust in His Salvation.

However, now we need to earn His Salvation. Let us fight for an Israeli Judicial System consistent with Torah. Let us assert our rightful claim to Judea and Samaria and Har HaBayit.  Then we deserve for G-d to then fight our battles.

Let us acknowledge and appreciate the Republican Platform which has left out the 2 State Narrative and calls to move the embassy to Jerusalem. The most pro Israel platform ever!

Trump is surrounded by G-d fearing people! At this point this is our greatest weapon!

Agudah and OU have lost their religious compass and are digging themselves in a hole by either openly endorsing Hillary or with a non vote message that both candidates are bad.

We still have a way out.  Placing our faith in the Almighty and His Torah and Ein Od Milvado.

Let's reiterate! G-d fearing Judges! Let us assert Jewish Sovereignty on Har HaBayit and Judea and Samaria and support Jewish Settlement in Judea and Samaria, revoke Oslo and the 2 State Solution as it annuls G-ds Torah

Many continue to demand the resignation of the Jerusalem Magistrate judge who released the terrorist thereby enabling him to carry out the fatal terrorist attack that left two Jews dead.
> Last week another Israeli judge came under fire. Raffi Carmel a Jerusalem District Court Judge was condemned even by the leftist media in Israel for giving a mere 9 year prison term sentence to Arab terrorist Jon Kakish, who was convicted of stabbing two Jews, despite the 20 year sentence maximum for a serious stabbing terror attack. The average sentence ranges from 8 to 16 years. The judge explained that although the prosecutor's request and the average sentence suggest a harsher sentence, he decided to show compassion on the terrorist, because his motive was not only hatred of Jews but also due to his sister's drug addiction. Whatever that is supposed to mean? The terrorist had a criminal record prior to the incident in which he stabbed two Jewish youths who were on their way to the Kotel on Shevuot Eve.

We have not seen the High Court attempt to limit the Israeli senior's Party from fielding a list composed strictly of seniors. We have seen no High Court intervention against Arab political parties fielding a Knesset list which is free of Jews. Even in Poland Jewish religious political parties were permitted to associate and to run for parliament, added Eichler.

This he said came as a warning from a close friend who knows what he is talking about.

This year 4-5 new High Court Judges will need to be appointed to replace judges who are due to retire. It is no secret that the Israeli courts are not loved by the general Israeli public composed primarily of rightwing traditional people who oppose the super-liberal, pro-Arab and anti-Torah rulings of the courts.
>
> The grassroots in Israel were outraged with the indictment of Seargent Elor Azarya (the soldier who killed an Arab terrorist) and the soft treatment given to Arab terrorists. The time is ripe to demand drastic change within the Israeli Judiciary. In Israel and anywhere else everything is timing. There is a time for everything. It is now ripe to rally the people behind demanding such change now, before the next judges are appointed. Will they be judges who love Judaism and Jews or judges who favor universal western style democracy and who all too often favor our enemies before their own people - placing Israel's security and Israel's Jewish character at risk.

> It is a no-win situation for the Jew in America. Allow me to explain. If Hillary and her openly anti-Israel VP Tim Caine are elected, they will clearly continue the anti-Israel pressure exhibited by the Obama regime. Let us not forget that 20 percent of Hillary's election war-chest comes from Saudi Arabia and that Hillary feels forever indebted to George Soros and other extremist self-hating Israel-bashers such as her buddy and email pal Blumenthal. Huma Abedin her number one long-term aid who would likely receive a high post in Hillary's back-office - perhaps a powerful position such as Chief of Staff, or a behind-the-scenes equivalent in Hillary's White House is highly connected to extremist Islamic terrorists and maintains strong ties with Saudi Arabia through a network of organizations and close relatives who she remains affiliated with. She herself lived in Saudi Arabia from age 2 through the age of 18.
>
> If Trump wins, something which is becoming more and more feasible as we approach the election's finish-line, we could expect Obama to pull the rug out from under Israel's collective last leg in the United Nations. It has become open knowledge that Obama plans on dealing Israel a diplomatic death blow sometime between November's elections and the transfer of power in January. Everybody knows that there will be no smooth transition of power on any front, especially when it comes to Israel. Obama clearly wants to leave office and to leave his mark on establishing the guidelines for a two-state solution and for the suicidal terms he plans on dictating and imposing upon Israel. This is the type of stuff that will fuel anti-Israel sentiment and will empower movements such as the BDS on campuses throughout the U.S. Israel will be blamed for their "intransigence". Arab terror and the instability in the Arab Islamic world will all be erroneously blamed upon Israel's "intransigence". Anti-Israel, anti-Jewish - anti-Semitic incidents will flourish as American Jews will indeed begin to feel what it is like for French and European Jews who live in fear in this type of hostile environment.
>
> Anyone who expects a smooth transfer of Power from Obama to Trump has got to be kidding themselves. Anyone who predicted that Trump would be a sore-loser has seen nothing. Clinton had a hard time accepting an ABC – Washington Post poll that showed Trump leading by one percent, two days ago. There is no way that the corrupt establishment and the powers that control Hillary will accept a defeat. Minorities and others backed financially with millions of dollars from the likes of Soros and Saudi Arabia will potentially finance well-organized riots in the streets most likely targeting Jews more than anyone else, creating havoc on the streets of major cities with large Jewish population centers. There has never been greater potential for the eruption of race riots in America more than these volatile elections which threaten to unravel the very social fabric in America. Social and economic unrest will challenge Trumps newly elected government and the weakest link; the usual resident scapegoat; none other than the Jew.
>
> Jew, read the writing on the wall and get out of that mess while you can. There is no future for the Jew in the Exile. Things are changing rapidly and with a passion, like a hurricane. Modern technology enables the immediate transfer of information. People can be incited and organized at the click of a key stroke on a keyboard. One minute, millions of people can be moved and swayed to support Trump and then to support Hillary. Facts become meaningless in the game of incitement online. The same crowd that chants "lock her up" and "clear the swamps," with their fists clenched and waving in the air, can tomorrow wear white sheets and chant "burn the synagogue". The white people wearing white sheets can be replaced by people of color locking hands with those wearing colorful Muslim headdress as they chant slogans against Israel and all Jews. Technology and world events, coupled by racial and social unrest can create an explosion at any time. A Trump victory would be more than enough to trigger a living hell for the Jewish scapegoat, who would be blamed for Trump, the failing American economy all of the other ills which embrace America. Nobody will even remember that the Jews ironically and foolishly supported Hillary. Time to come home to Israel!

Rabbi Pruzansky Aliya Essay

Bsd

Here is a thoughtful essay by Rabbi Steven Pruzansky, formerly of Teaneck, NJ, who has just made aliyah. Barch Haba! Hatzlacha!

Last week my wife and I made aliya after more than six decades of life in the United States. We are officially Israeli citizens, which affords me the right to criticize the Israeli government without being told to move here if I want to have a say, and the right to denounce American Jews for remaining in the fleshpots of the exile. But I'm going to hold off on both for the time being...

It would be easy to make Aliya if we were fleeing persecution but that is not the case, notwithstanding that rabbis have always been among the most persecuted Jews, and usually by other Jews. But that is not why. It would be easy to make Aliya if America had become unlivable, a place without a long-term Jewish future, and one can make a compelling argument that the handwriting is presently on the wall waiting to be read. Nonetheless, when I announced to the shul eighteen months ago that we would be making aliya in July 2020, the United States was peaceful and prosperous, President Trump was cruising to a (narrow) election victory, and pandemics, economic collapse and race riots were not even on the horizon. That we left amid all this turmoil in American life is a coincidence and not the proximate cause of our departure. In any event, "coerced Aliya" (running from something) is not as salutary or enjoyable as "voluntary Aliya" (running towards something). We are in the latter category in fulfillment of the verse in Shir Hashirim (1:4), "Moshcheini, acharecha narutza." Pull me and I will run after You.

It would be easy to make Aliya if our children lived here – and two children already do, with grandchildren, but two still live in the US with grandchildren. We have experienced the range of emotions, of farewell and reunion, as can be expected. It would be easy to make Aliya if I was out of a job and had nowhere else to turn, but that would also be untrue. I could have stayed. It was a l'chatchila choice (ab initio, even granting the long time abroad), not a b'diavad (post facto).

Politically, it turns out to have been a lateral move. I went from one country (the USA) where leftists and anarchists are daily and violently protesting the government's failure to deal effectively with the Coronavirus and where the media elites despise the head of government to another country (Israel) where leftists and anarchists are daily and violently protesting the government's failure to deal effectively with the Coronavirus and where the media elites despise the head of government. Like I said, a lateral move.

So why make Aliya now? And the simple answer is: it was time. Personally, professionally, and ideologically, it was time to make the move that is the mandate and destiny of all Jews.

For one thing, the future of the Jewish people is in Israel rather than anywhere in the exile. If the events of the last few months (or century) have not demonstrated that, then nothing will ever be sufficiently convincing. The exile is drying up around us. More Jews live today in Israel than in the rest of the world combined. Moreover, after millennia of persecution, punitive measures, and harsh restrictions directed against Jews generally and specifically those who wanted to dwell in the land of Israel, today there is no Jew in the world living in a country from which he or she cannot freely emigrate and come live in the land of Israel. And if there are (Cuba?), there are just a relative handful. That is a divine gift.

It was time to be a player in the grand game of Jewish life rather than just a highly interested and vocal spectator. And I do not doubt that for all the dedication of rabbis, teachers and professional leaders in the Jewish world – and for all the vast investments in Jewish infrastructure that makes the United States such a hospitable and pleasurable exile – life in the exile is a holding pattern. We are trying to hold on to something – powerful in its own right and indispensable for almost two centuries – that cannot be sustained in perpetuity. We are not building as much as we are trying not to fall. We are walking on a ledge rather on solid footing. And now this is true not only spiritually but also physically and politically.

Few will deny that America has experienced two terrible traumas in the last five months, both unpredictable but both bearing an imprint that will leave a long term mark on American life. The Coronavirus pandemic exposed the greatest vulnerability in America today: the polarization that is itself an epidemic. The hatred of the President has reached self-destructive proportions, in which his legion of political and media enemies would rather see the country collapse further than recover even gradually. The tirades about Trump's failures to halt the pandemic or economic dislocation are vociferous, and inversely proportionate to the suggestion of any alternative plan or approach. It is particularly unctuous, which is to say typical of politics at its worst, to criticize every policy without offering even a hint of how you would have done it differently or better. So they do what politicians love doing – printing money and claiming credit for distributing it to the voters, and trying to WIN at all costs.

What is most damaging to American society is the growing notion among the elites – not the mob of racists and anarchists – that America was conceived in sin, nurtured in criminality and has no redeeming value. In the turbulent 60's, the elitist institutions protected themselves against the anarchists. Today, the corporations, media and universities join hands with anti-American anarchists to stifle liberties like freedom of speech, assembly and worship in the name of some higher dogma, and routinely purvey lies, untruths and distortions of reality – in order to both protect and encourage the anarchists and, it can't be denied, win an election. "Systemic racism," all the rage today, is an indictment without any possible defense (to defend against it is itself racist); it is a cudgel more than it is a complaint.

Opposing sides that no longer share common values, a definition of truth or reality or even rules of speech cannot interact. When one side of a debate is perceived by the other not just as wrong but as evil and immoral, public discourse ends and mob rule begins. That the mob now rules – anarchists destroying private or government property, assaulting innocent people in the streets, attacking the police, "canceling" those who disagree with them (the latter, woefully predicted by Orwell) – will only be tempered and then only momentarily if President Trump is defeated in November. And if he loses by a whisker, amid allegations of voter fraud abetted by mail-in ballots, harvested ballots, forged ballots, and on line voting in key swing states, then all bets are off and the hostility will no longer be unilateral. And if Trump wins, as is eminently possible given the lies people tell pollsters and the fear of expressing public support? There will be even more violence. Uneasy times are ahead.

Jews should especially take note of this because we are in the unenviable position of being perceived as part of the privileged white establishment by the minorities who are now protesting across the country but not by the privileged white establishment itself who see Jews as outsiders. Jews will have no natural allies in the coming struggle, which will come as a shock to liberal Jews who think their liberalism and historic support for civil rights inoculates them from the disruptions ahead. The liberal Jew of old –tolerant, open, respectful, and supportive of even anathematic views like the right of Nazis to march in Skokie – is a dinosaur, because that type of liberalism has disappeared. The Democrat party of old, the church (or synagogue) of most modern Jews, no longer exists. It too pays obeisance to the leftist mob, and is unsympathetic to Israel and to the Jewish ethos, not that most Jews realize it.

In the best sense, none of that is a reason to move to Israel, although it might be the tipping point in people's otherwise positive decision. Jews have an unblemished record of staying in the exile a bit too long and paying a heavy price for it. But more importantly, we all recognize certain basic truths about Torah and Jewish life. The long prophesied "Kibbutz Galuyot" (ingathering of the exiles) has not only occurred but is actually entering its final stages. Jews from over 130 countries today live in Israel. The return to the land of Israel, itself a biblical prophecy, is something that we now take for granted. Most Jews alive today cannot envision a world without the Jewish state of Israel. Even in quarantine (where I now find myself, in escalating tedium, life on hold), I realize that centuries of Jews would have given their right arms to be able to quarantine in the land of Israel.

It is not without its problems. As I am sure I will note in the coming years, many of the afflictions of the more modern, leftist, faddish elements of Orthodoxy, and its neo-Conservative offspring, exist here as well, along with the clamor for a more malleable mesorah and elastic morality. There is much to do here, especially in warding off the displacement of Jewish morality by Western morality. But these are the problems of growth, of building the future, rather than trying to preserve the past.

I feel blessed that I am able to be here, as I feel blessed to have succeeded in my careers in the exile. Even as a rabbi, I never hid the fact that Aliya was both a Torah value and an imperative, even if it was against my interest in saying so. I certainly don't disparage the USA or its people, or my Jewish brothers and sisters there. I was the beneficiary of prior generations who not only built the wonderful Jewish community of Teaneck but who constructed the edifice of American Jewish life that enabled survivors and refugees to rebuild Torah after the horrors of the Holocaust. For that, I will always be appreciative of America, its history, its aspirations and the haven it provided to Jews and others.

Nonetheless, we should not let our gratitude and nostalgia for the past cloud our vision of the present and future. With blessings from Israel!

OpEd: US Netanyahu UAE agreement will hurt Trump's reelection campaign and is a Very Bad Deal For Israel Because Eretz Yisroel Is Not For Sale!!!

Bsd

אל המקום אשר...

DNC Caucus and Council Meeting: Muslim Delegates and Allies Assembly leave out G-d in Pledge of Allegiance.

Please President Trump. Don't leave out G-d. Only  He holds the key to Victory.

Jared Kushner stated: "President Donald Trump was able to get Israel to agree to a two-state solution with the Palestinian people—and, for the first time in history, agree to a map that outlined the territory.". See link to statement below.

Kushner, Bin Zayed: Israeli Relations with UAE Depend on Palestinian State
By David Israel -
This was preceded by Trump's statement on Thursday that sovereignty was "more than just off the table," Israel has committed not to bring it up again.

Many avid Trump supporters are deeply upset and totally against the recent agreement with UAE, known as the Abraham Accord... especially with the declared United States clarification that indeed this is to advance a Two State Solution.

The True Biblical Abraham Accord  has boundaries of Israel going to the Euphrates River!

Breishit Genesis Chapter 15
18 On that day, the Lord formed a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt until the great river, the Euphrates river. יח בַּיום הַה֗וּא כָּרַ֧ת יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־אַבְרָ֖ם בְּרִ֣ית לֵאמֹ֑ר לְזַרְעֲךָ֗ נָתַ֨תִּי֙ אֶת־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את מִנְּהַ֣ר מִצְרַ֔יִם עַד־הַנָּהָ֥ר הַגָּדֹ֖ל נְהַר־פְּרָֽת:

This Accord is therefore bound to backfire for Trump.

No wonder Biden and Thomas Friedman of the New York Times backed this unG-dly agreement. That alone should raise a red flag!

President  Trump's strongest backers, people of faith, can not in good conscience support this Accord.

It will weaken his base significantly.

This Accord disregards a G-dly vision of peace and prosperity for the Middle East as spelled out in the Bible.

How can the President and his G-d fearing team disregard G-d's Covenant,  with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?

Time to declare...

G-d Owns the Land!

We are mere caretakers!!!

Let us not overextend our human and legal authority.

Re:
Joint Statement of United States, The State of  Israel and United Arab Emirates

"Israel will suspend declaring Sovereignty over the President's outlined Vision of Peace".

My comments:

Would the President agree to the following proposal?

"The President will suspend declaring Sovereignty over the Oval Office" in return for full normalization with the Democratic Party and its leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer while continuing to occupy the West Wing of the White House.

This historic diplomatic breakthrough will advance peace in the Capitol and is testament of the bold vision and courage of the Democratic Party and of  President Trump to chart a new path."

This "historic" agreement  would give the  Democrats full access to the Oval Office and in a showmanship of peace, they will allow President Trump access to the Oval Office so long as he doesn't sign any Executive orders.

Of course if President Trump signs Executive Orders to the Democrat's liking, they might make an exception.

This sarcastic unrealistic hypothetical proposal makes a point..

Why is Trump and his advisors pushing such a bad deal on Israel? What goes around comes around.

Purposefully placing a  misleading clause in the agreement  that each side interprets as they wish, is a sure recipe for disaster.

President Trump and Jared Kushner clarified their intention  to push a 2 State solution. This greatly justifies our apprehension.

When Netanyahu presented a 2 State Solution in the 2009 Bar Ilan speech knowing fully well there was no chance of implementation, he was being dishonest and he opened a Pandora's box that led to terror and rocket attacks.   It gave the Palestinians false hope for a "homeland" within Israel's ancient and Divinely Promised Homeland.

The White House analogy above makes it clear that 2 competing  powers can not be in charge.  Only one power can be in charge. Being open ended as per who's the boss, is interpreted as a sign of weakness, not strength.

Israel is strong when it stands strong on its Biblical and International legal Rights of Sovereignty over the entire Judea and Samaria with Jerusalem as it's capital and Temple Mount under Israel's Sovereignty!

That is the secret to World Peace and Prosperity! Those Who Bless Israel Will Be Blessed.

Read this past weeks Torah reading in Devarim (Deuteronomy),  Parshat Reeh. Moshe Rabbeinu warns Israel to drive out the inhabitants in the Land less the Israelites learn from their evil ways.
Here is a present day example of evil ways.
Israel’s New Peace Partner: A Look at UAE Slavery, Torture, Executions
By Jewish Press News Desk -

Why do we not listen to His Voice!

We all need G-d on our side...

And especially now, President Trump! COVID-19, Democrats stealing the election, death in the family the same day this deal was announced, rockets in Gaza.  Is this mere coincidence or is there a Higher Force at play?

From an Orthodox Jewish Perspective, other than the references to Jesus, this Archbishop is on the mark.

Archbishop Viganòs analogy between the woman and the snake is consistent with Rabbinic teachings

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, published and spoke about the Seven Laws of Noah many times. He taught, based on a detailed reading of Maimonides' Hilchot Melachim, Talmud and Scripture, that the Seven Laws originally given to Noah were given yet again, through Moses at Sinai, and it is exclusively through that giving of the Torah that the Seven Laws derive their current force.[15] What has changed with the giving of the Torah is that now, it is the duty of the Jewish people to bring the rest of the world to fulfill the Seven Laws.[16]

Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò warns the president that the current crises over the coronavirus pandemic and the George Floyd riots are a part of the eternal spiritual struggle between the forces of good and evil.

Now NY Democratic failed leadership has failed to protect the property and lives of New Yorkers and have tied the hands of NYPD putting all of New York, lives and property at risk causing unnecessary death and anguish.

They had resources which they squandered or failed to use.

After rioting and looting and lawlessness she is calling to further weaken the NYPD when their orders often was to standby, as criminals took over the city with no real consequences nor deterrence to stop.

We voted them in.

Leave the Democrats en masse, an illegitimate and unG-dly party less we become enslaved, Heaven forbid,  under Democratic tyranny to the point of no return.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Louis Calls for NYPD Budget Cuts

Amid Shortfall, Pandemic, and Protests

BROOKLYN, NY — Today, Council Member Farah N. Louis (D-Brooklyn) issued the following statement calling for cuts to the NYPD's budget as the city faces a $9 billion budget shortfall due to resources exhausted in the fight to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NYPD, which has a $6 billion budget, was largely spared in contrast to the proposed cuts to city agencies such as the Department of Education, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; Department of Homeless Services; the Department of Housing Preservation and Development; the Department of Youth and Community Development. Our city's budget is going to be balanced by jeopardizing the education, health, and livelihoods of our most vulnerable communities. That is not an option, given the uncertainty of the level of support that our city must be prepared to provide thousands of families and small business owners in the aftermath of a global health crisis.

STATEMENT BY COUNCIL MEMBER LOUIS

"As the City of New York, once the epicenter of the pandemic, begins to recover from the health and economic toll, New Yorkers will need assurance that housing, mental health, and housing assistance is readily available.

"After touting historic lows in crime and other so-called progress in community-police relations, the NYPD's response to peaceful protesters in the days following nationwide protests against police brutality and racial injustice have been abhorrent. There is no way to justify a significant reduction to health and social services as well as the elimination of the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), while our city is overrun by officers who are ill-equipped to address those immediate needs or patrolling our streets without endangering Black and brown lives. We need more community programming and counselors, not additional cops.

"With the City Council working to adopt a budget by the June 30th deadline, we have to shift our focus and priorities to ensure that we pass a fair and inclusive budget that will help and not harm New Yorkers," said Council Member Farah N. Louis, a member of the Council committees on Youth Services; Education; and Finance.

READ THIS NEWSLETTER ON MIKEHUCKABEE.COM.

Robin,

Everyone this morning is talking about the 6th District Georgia House race as if it held cosmic significance (it didn't, unless you own a local TV station that was selling ad time; if so, then it changed your life the way winning the lottery would.) It's estimated that as much as $50 million may have been spent on donations to the candidates or various PACs, with Democrat Jon Ossoff outspending Republican Karen Handel by 7-1 and still losing to Handel by nearly 53-47%. Still, it could have been more embarrassing. Ossoff didn't live in the district and couldn't even vote for himself. What if he'd lost by only one vote: Karen Handel's?

The ballots had barely begun to be counted before angry liberals on Twitter were blasting Ossoff as a terrible candidate who didn't articulate why working class voters should support him. And yet, when Hillary lost, it could only have been due to a Russian conspiracy. How do they know some Russians didn't get misled by their iPhone Maps app, end up in Roswell, Georgia, instead of the Republic of Georgia, and stuff the ballot boxes? Hey, there's as much evidence of that as there is that they colluded with the Trump campaign.

But Ossoff and the "rage against Trump can win elections" crowd are hardly the only losers in this race. Right up until the polls closed, we were assured this would be a "nailbiter." It was more of a nail-filer. Just two weeks ago, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll had Ossoff up by 7 points, and he lost by about 5. Either the vote swung against him by 12 points in two weeks, or else polls are now the only section of the newspaper less reliable than the Horoscope column. Personally, I wasn't surprised by the latest pollster face-plant. I took a lot of ribbing for dismissing the polls showing Hillary was a lock, too (look at yesterday's post, where I made a sarcastic joke about the polls, which turned out to be a joke about a joke.)

Another big loser in this race was Californians, especially in ultra-liberal enclaves such as Hollywood and the San Francisco Bay area, who thought they were going to buy themselves an extra Representative. Ossoff got nine times more donations from California than he did from Georgia, which Republicans made sure local voters heard about, and that pretty well negated any advantage from the money. You'd think the results might cheer up Democrats, since they're always demanding campaign finance reform to keep big money from buying elections. Well, rest easy: this proves it doesn't. As did November's race, where Hillary outspent Trump by 2-1, and that doesn't even include all her PACs.

Nancy Pelosi was also a big loser. Just as Democrats tried to tie Handel to Trump, Republicans warned that Ossoff would to go DC and do Pelosi's bidding, and that turned out to be the more frightening scenario for voters.

If it's any consolation to the Democrats, all of these special elections have been in Republican districts, to replace people who took jobs in the Trump Administration. There are nearly two dozen House elections in 2018 where Republican incumbents are running in districts Hillary won. Maybe that will increase their chances, although I wouldn't count those chickens just yet either. As a Democrat who knew how to win elections (Tip O'Neill, now deceased) once said, "All politics is local." Georgia voters didn't want some liberal kid whose resume says he's a political filmmaker to go to DC and obstruct Trump's agenda of bringing back jobs, replacing Obamacare and increasing national security. Handel held real jobs with several major companies before going into charity and public service. Voters elect a Representative to represent their interests, not the feverish political dreams of the far-left wing of the Democratic Party. I already wrote a book to try to explain this to them, but they don't listen to me. So, one more time:

Democrats, your problem isn't that your message isn't getting through or that Americans are "voting against their own interests." They know what you stand for. They got a big load of it during the Obama years (slow job growth, bloated government, skyrocketing debt and insurance premiums, open borders, weak leadership abroad leading to the rise of ISIS and the Middle East on fire, etc, etc.). Having you in power may be in your interests, but most non-coastal voters think it sure as heck isn't in theirs. Until the Democrats actually try listening to the American people, rethink their policies and find candidates with life experience outside of politics, they're going to keep losing. Right now, it's hard to find Democratic candidates who've had real life experience in dealing with the government from the perspective of a worker or business owner, because they tend to be Republicans.

Finally, before we bid this story farewell, the award for the best line of the night goes to Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro, who tweeted, "Planned Parenthood sponsors thousands of abortions per year. Add Ossoff's campaign to the list."

Leave me a comment.  I read them.

Sincerely,

Mike Huckabee

President Trump responds to North Korea

By Mike Huckabee

Early in his Administration, President Trump had a successful and productive meeting with President Xi of China. And he has been patient in allowing China to try to rein in the ever-more-belligerent North Korean dictator, Kim Jong Un. But that insane rogue regime is not only holding Americans in jail, it has, to put it bluntly, murdered an American citizen by allowing student Otto Warmbier to waste away in a coma for month after month without returning him home or providing him with proper medical care.

I'm sure that Trump doesn't want to launch a military response, but we cannot allow rogue regimes to murder American citizens with impunity. And the longer we wait to deal with it, the more dangerous North Korea becomes as it continues its tests of ICBMs that could carry nuclear warheads.

Yesterday, Trump sent out a tweet that expressed his appreciation to China for trying to help with North Korea, but added that "it has not worked out. At least I know China tried!" If you don't get the message, trust me, China gets it loud and clear. Trump signaled to China and the world that their efforts to rein in Kim Jong Un have failed, and something new must be tried, but this need not affect the US-China relationship if they don't want it to. However, it also lets China know that if they don't want America to take over dealing with Kim, then they'd better move fast. I don't think there's ever been an example of so much diplomatic meaning packed into fewer than 140 characters.

Leave me a comment.  I read them!

Reviewing the Beatles

By Mike Huckabee

Fun piece from the New York Times archives of 1969: music reviewer Nik Cohn (who later sold a story that became a classic movie, and later still admitted it was fraudulent) reviews the Beatles' "Abbey Road" album and finds it to be an "unmitigated disaster." There are only 15 minutes worth listening to, and they don't include the two George Harrison songs that are "mediocrity incarnate" ("Here Comes The Sun" and "Something.") It seems "the badness ranges from mere gentle tedium to cringing embarrassment," with lyrics that are "limp-wristed, pompous and fake." The "only interesting failures" are "Come Together" and "Oh Darling." In fact, this woeful "Abbey Road" disaster suffers from the same "overkill" that ruined the Beatles previous album, a double-disc that was "boring beyond belief" and filled with "profound mediocrities" (you know it as "The White Album.")

This story is a few years old, and the review is 48 years old, but it's still a timely reminder that for the "paper of record," getting things wildly wrong isn't something they only took up since Trump was elected.

Please Forward! Today!!! Washington Rally Iran Deal. Bus Information from NY/NJ. Toronto Rally in Solidarity for Yezidis and against Iran Deal: Torah Devarim 20: When You Go Out To War....

bs"d

WE HAVE JUST BEGUN TO FIGHT!  This email is being sent  too late for most people, but let us take the position that we are simply getting warmed up.

Next rally, G-d willing, buses should be coming from every single school, be it Yeshiva/Hebrew school and non Jewish Private School and from every institution that supports Israel, Jewish or non Jewish,  religious, secular,  private or public.  Every House of Worship that supports Israel should organize a bus.  United! Hundreds of thousands of NOAHIDES should descend upon Washington DC!!!!!  Every Rabbi/Spiritual Leader who truly deserves the title, should not be afraid to assert Israel's rights to the Land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria, and Israel's role to be a Kingdom of Priests, a world leader. From Zion will Torah come forth and the Word of G-d from Jerusalem (and not Iran)!  https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah+2:3 Isaiah 2:3.  Those who Bless Israel will be Blessed!

IT must be Bi Partisan, Republican and Democrat!  Orchestrated by those who Trust In G-d and not in Man.  By those who are not hampered by small numbers and know that G-d sends His Legions to those who are righteous and who trust in His Salvation.

Mike Huckabee today came out with a statement that America should not criminalize those who act true to their Faith! Watch Huckabee with a touching video standing by Kim Davis, county clerk as she was released from jail.  http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/kim-davis-treated-rock-star-she-speaks-rally-her-honor  America was built on Judeo-Christian Values, Western values.  Leaders of America have become weak in standing strong for the cornerstone foundations upon which America was established.

America should not empower those who hate what America stands for,  nor should America empower those who claim that Islam is a religion like all religions.  The teachings of Islam and the examples set by Mohammad their Prophet is mutually exclusive with what we know of Universal Morality!  Islam's implementation under Sharia law violates the 7 Noahide laws  http://www.chabad.org/therebbe/article_cdo/aid/62221/jewish/Universal-Morality.htm

It is undisputed, video after video of mass beheadings, decaptitations, enslavement, child and all kinds of rape and abuse, glorification of jihad, suicide bombings by adult and children, use of human shields, sex slaves,  torture, torchings, limb detachment, beatings, hangings,  permitted by Allah sanctioned by Sharia, Islamic law, is nothing short of whitewashing tyranny and permitting severe human rights violations.

MANY GET DISCOURAGED WHEN THE NUMBERS SHOWING UP AT RALLIES ARE LOW.  This is a terrible mistake which only discourages activism and sets one up for failure. Numbers is not necessarily a true indicator of success or failure.

REMEMBER THAT G-d's LEGIONS ARE BEHIND US!

I feel that the Rabbis March in 1943 should have been followed with another such march even stronger. The Rabbi's march was not a failure.  It was not an embarrassment.  Even if there was no obvious positive end result, the action itself was balm to the soul.  G-d surely graded them for effort even when it didn't achieve noticeable victory.

Victory is often the accumulation of many failures!

They should  have persisted and not have given up... Their march unbeknownst to them, actually did breed positive results. Read article below and the work of the Wyman Institute on Holocaust Studies.

Robin,

Dear Board Members:

It appears that I will make history as having the shortest tenure in the history of the CMA Foundation Board. I genuinely regret that some in the industry were so outraged by my appointment that they bullied the CMA and the Foundation with economic threats and vowed to withhold support for the programs for students if I remained. I had NO idea I was that influential! I'm somewhat flattered to be of such consequence when all I thought I was doing was voluntarily serving on a non-profit board without pay in order to continue my decades of advocacy for the arts and especially music.

The message here is "Hate Wins." Bullies succeeded in making it untenable to have "someone like me" involved. I would imagine however that many of the people who buy tickets and music are not that "unlike me."

I hereby tender my resignation effective immediately. I hope this will end the unnecessary distraction and deterrent to the core mission of the Foundation which is to help kids acquire musical instruments and have an opportunity to participate in music programs as students.

A tariff primer

By Mike Huckabee

For those baffled by all the fury and debate over President Trump's announcement of new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, here's a quick primer on what tariffs are, why they're imposed and what their effects can be. As I pointed out here, though, despite all the apocalyptic predictions, it's impossible to say yet what the effects will be, because so far, there are no details of what Trump wants to do that couldn't fit into a tweet. Read this and you'll be prepared when the plan actually appears.

Guns save lives

By Mike Huckabee

In an age when Van Jones on CNN can make comparisons of the NRA to the KKK and not be called on it, it was good to see former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice shock the women on "The View" by saying that she supports the Second Amendment because privately-owned guns saved her and her family from racists.

Click the link to read her harrowing account of how, as a little girl in mid-century Alabama, she and her family and neighbors were targeted by the White Knight Riders. Her father and his friends would stand guard at the head of their neighborhood and fire guns into the air to scare them away. She said they knew that Birmingham's notoriously racist "Commissioner of Public Safety," Bull Connor, and the police department wouldn't protect them.

To deflate the hosts' misconceptions even more, Rice added, "I'm sure if Bull Connor had known where those guns were, he would have rounded them up. And so I don't favor some things like gun registration."

https://ijr.com/ijr-red/2018/03/1072094-condoleezza-rice-view-bull-connor/

So just to clarify this history lesson for CNN commentators: The White Knight Riders she referred to were the KKK, an organization founded by Southern Democrats. Bull Connor: also a Democrat. The black people who asserted their Second Amendment right to own personal firearms to defend themselves when the government couldn't or wouldn't also formed chapters of the NRA to protect those rights (the NRA allowed blacks to join and form NRA chapters when many other organizations refused them entry). So you see, it was black NRA members against the KKK, not KKK-loving NRA members against black people.

If you're interested in learning more about the history of African-Americans using private firearms and forming NRA clubs to protect themselves from racists, here's an in-depth article about it at Ammo.com. Note that after his house was fire-bombed in 1956, Martin Luther King Jr. applied for a gun permit, which the State of Alabama declined to issue. Guess which organization fought state permitting laws that denied the Rev. King his right to protect his home and family from violent racists? I'll give you a hint: three letters, and they aren't K-K-K.

History lesson

By Mike Huckabee

Interesting history lesson: I wonder how many Trump-hating New Yorkers who are paying a month's rent for "Hamilton" tickets realize that the hero of that hip-hop musical would have been outraged at liberal judges overreaching their very limited powers to block the President's immigration and national security measures.

The View

By Mike Huckabee

I enjoy sparring with the ladies of "The View," but I was taken aback recently when Joy Behar suggested that Vice President Mike Pence, and anyone who thinks that Jesus has spoken to them, is mentally ill. That's the kind of statement that can come back to bite you, and not just when your time is up on Earth. It's also pretty uncomfortable for a liberal talk show host when someone points out that the god you do believe in – the great and mighty Oprah – believes in all sorts of New Age spiritualist ideas, and she even said she asked God to tell her whether to run for President. When you depend on the approval of "The View's" audience for your livelihood, you may be able to get away with insulting Jesus, but not Oprah.

Personally, of course, I don't think anyone is mentally ill for seeking the guidance of Jesus in deciding what political policies to pursue. Seeking guidance on how to run the country from "The View" -- now THAT'S crazy.
