*Honenu Organization: Attorneys for those detained in connection with the assault on a diplomat and an American reporter state: "This is yet another 'blood libel'—much ado about nothing."*

*This morning (Tuesday): An appeal will be filed regarding the extended detention of 7 of the individuals; 3 have been released to house arrest.*

Following hearings on the extension of the detainees' custody—during which the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court ruled last night (Monday) that 7 of them would remain in detention for only two additional days—attorneys from the 'Honenu' organization have issued their first response after reviewing the case's investigative materials. It appears that the detainees were all swept up in a "wholesale" arrest by the police—capturing everyone who happened to be in the area that Saturday—despite the fact that there is no evidence or proof linking any of them to the commission of a crime.

One of the detainees is a practicing medic who provided a solid, verifiable alibi; he had arrived at the scene to assist the injured and even sent real-time updates and messages regarding his actions. Nevertheless, he too found himself arrested and held in extended custody.

*Attorneys Daniel Shemeshvili and Asaf Gonen, representing the 'Honenu' organization—who are set to file an appeal this morning (Tuesday) regarding the extended detention of the 7 individuals—stated at the conclusion of the hearing:*

"Having reviewed the police's claims in court, we state clearly: these are baseless arrests." "Regarding the incident involving the French diplomat on Saturday—the investigative material presented to us reveals that he was not injured at all. Furthermore, he did not even file a complaint regarding the incident; there is likely a good reason for that."

"As for the American reporter involved in Friday’s incident—there is absolutely no evidence linking any of the detainees to an assault. Serious accusations require evidence and proof, neither of which exists in this case file. 

What the file *does* contain is footage of this reporter spending a considerable amount of time alongside masked Arab individuals armed with slingshots and stones—which raises the question: why would a supposedly innocent reporter be in the company of terrorists?"

"Ultimately, it appears this is yet another element of a smear and persecution campaign—a mass arrest operation that has absolutely nothing to do with fair legal proceedings. These arrests are clearly intended to appease external pressure and satisfy outside parties." "Once the 'storm in a teacup' is forgotten, those who were wrongfully arrested will be left—and no one will compensate them for the days that were taken from them."

"Let us pose again the question we asked within the courtroom: What is an American reporter doing—accompanied by masked terrorists—at violent events on Fridays and Saturdays?"

לגבי האירוע של הדיפלומט הצרפתי ביום שבת - מחומר החקירה שהוצג לנו, התברר שהוא כלל לא נפצע באירוע. מעבר לכך, הוא אפילו לא הגיש תלונה בעניין האירוע וכנראה יש סיבה טובה לכך".

"בעניין הכתבת האמריקאית מיום שישי  - לגבי אף אחד מהעצורים אין כל ראיה שהיה חלק מתקיפה. לצד האשמות קשות - יש צורך בראיות והוכחות, שלא קיימות בתיק.
מה שכן יש בתיק הוא תיעוד של אותה כתבת מסתובבת משך דקות ארוכות לצד רעולי פנים ערבים חמושים בקלע דוד ואבנים, כאשר נשאלת השאלה מדוע כתבת תמימה כביכול שוהה לצד מחבלים?"

"בשורה התחתונה כך נראה, מדובר בעוד חלק ממסע הכפשה ורדיפה, ובמעצר סיטונאי שאין לו דבר וחצי דבר עם עם הליכים משפטיים צודקים. אלה מעצרים שנועדו להשביע לחץ חיצוני וגורמים חיצוניים. כשהשערה בכוס מים הזו תישכח, ישארו אותם עצורים שנעצרו מעצרי שווא ואותם  אף אחד לא יפצה על הימים שנלקחו מהם."

"נשאל שוב את השאלה ששאלנו בין כותלי בית המשפט: מה עושה כתבת אמריקאית בליווי רעולי פנים מחבלים עם קלע דוד באירועי אלימות בימי שישי ושבת?".

Dozens of security coordinators from Judea and Samaria are currently demonstrating in front of the Kirya base in Tel Aviv, in protest of the arrest of the Ravshatz, Security Officer of the Reches Gideonim, the Gideonim Ridge,  in Itamar, who was taken to the Shin Bet's dungeon.

The unusual protest joins an urgent letter sent last night by about 100 Rabbis from across the country to the Minister of Defense, in which they expressed strong criticism of this occurrence.

"We find it difficult to accept the fact that a man who dedicates his life to protecting the residents and the security of the settlement is being arrested and treated like the worst of the terrorists,  violating his dignity and status as a civilian security officer," the Rabbis wrote in their letter.

"We see particular severity in the conditions of his detention, including his detention in a cell measuring approximately two meters by two meters by two meters.  These conditions raise serious questions regarding the proportionality of the treatment towards him and the justification for holding him like this."

The Ravshatzim added and emphasized that "the arrest of our friend is not just his private matter. It concerns the status of  Ravshatzim and civil security personnel, who bear heavy responsibility and tire every day for the security of the residents. A red line was crossed.  We will not stand by and we will not remain silent!"

המחאה החריגה מצטרפת למכתב בהול ששיגרו אמש כ-100 רבש"צים מרחבי הארץ לשר הביטחון, בו הביעו ביקורת חריפה על האירוע.

"אנו מתקשים לקבל את העובדה שאדם המקדיש את חייו להגנה על התושבים ועל ביטחון ההתיישבות נעצר ומטופל כאחרון המחבלים, תוך פגיעה בכבודו ובמעמדו כאיש ביטחון אזרחי", כתבו הרבש"צים במכתבם.

"חומרה מיוחדת אנו רואים בתנאי המעצר, לרבות החזקתו בצינוק שגודלו כשני מטרים על שני מטרים על שני מטרים. תנאים אלה מעוררים שאלות קשות באשר למידתיות היחס כלפיו ולהצדקה להחזקתו באופן זה".

הרבשצים הוסיפו והדגישו כי "מעצרו של חברנו אינו עניינו הפרטי בלבד. הוא נוגע למעמדם של הרבש״צים ושל אנשי הביטחון האזרחי, הנושאים באחריות כבדה ופועלים יום־יום למען ביטחון התושבים נחצה קו אדום, לא נעמוד מנגד ולא נשתוק!".

French Mayor of Taiba Provocation: Called for Sanctions on Israel and Raised Palestinian Flag in his City Hall

Dozens of foreign and Israeli anarchists who arrived today for a picket provocation - along with senior anti-Semitic figures - in the area between the village of Taiba and the settlement of Ofra were reportedly attacked by Jewish residents who tried to remove them from the scene.

The IDF says that French Mayor Bernard Baudoux, who led the event, did not coordinate his arrival in the area with the IDF, as all senior foreign figures do - which increases suspicion of a planned provocation.

A check of him online shows that he is a clearly anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian figure. Baudoux has previously called for sanctions on Israel and officially raised the Palestinian flag on his city hall, which caused a local uproar from the French authorities, who eventually ordered it removed.

 Bernard Baudoux, who serves as mayor of Aulnoy-Amery in northern France, is a member of the French Communist Party (PCF), which presents a clearly anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic line, including support for boycotts and sanctions on Israel, as well as an arms embargo.

Quite a few question marks hover over why he was even allowed to enter Israel, and why the security forces did not monitor in advance his intentions to carry out provocations during this sensitive season.

ברנאר בודו המכהן כראש עיריית אולנואה אמרי בצפון צרפת הוא איש המפלגה הקומוניסטית הצרפתית PCF, המציגה קו אנטי ישראלי בואכה אנטישמי מובהק כולל תמיכה בחרם וסנקציות על ישראל וכן אמברגו נשק.

לא מעט סימני שאלה מרחפים מדוע בכלל הורשה להיכנס לישראל, ולמה כוחות הביטחון לא ניטרו מראש את כוונותיו לבצע פרובוקציות בעונה הרגישה הזו.

The alleged attack on European diplomats: Serious accusations require solid evidence.

We call for caution before drawing conclusions from reports published today, according to which European diplomats were attacked by masked Israelis in Judea and Samaria. Any violence towards diplomats is unacceptable. The more severe the accusation, the greater the need for convincing evidence.

These are the facts known to us:

- The diplomatic delegation entered a sensitive area, where clashes have occurred in the past, without prior coordination with the IDF, as the army officially confirmed. Such coordination is essential for the protection of diplomats visiting the area and to prevent violence.

- The visit was attended by Bernard Baudot, a mayor on behalf of the French Communist Party, who previously hoisted the Palestinian flag over his city hall building, and as a result the authorities in France ordered it removed.

- In the documentation published, masked people are seen confronting a diplomatic vehicle. In separate photos a smashed window and a person lying on the ground are seen. These pictures in themselves do not make it possible to determine the full sequence of events or the personal responsibility of those involved. The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.

- Israel Police and forensic investigators opened an investigation to clarify the facts and identify those responsible.

_These reports are published against the background of concern about a coordinated campaign to defame Israel and the Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria during the annual olive harvest season, relying on sensational headlines even before the facts have been fully clarified.

It is possible that in the coming days additional accusations will be raised. Until the evidence is examined in depth, the reputational damage that will be caused as a result of hasty conclusions may already be irreversible.

We call on the public and responsible journalists to demand verifiable evidence, to reject unfounded rumors and to refuse to turn unproven accusations into a collective indictment against the Jewish residents in Judea and Samaria.
