Jewish Minor Under Shabak Interrogations Rushed to Hospital

Bs"d

http://www.jewishpress.com/news/breaking-news/jewish-minor-under-shabak-interrogations-rushed-to-hospital/2016/04/15/

A Jewish minor who was picked up by Shabak for interrogations a few days ago, without seeing an attorney or his family, was rushed to hospital Friday afternoon from the Shabak facility. He is suffering from urgent medical complications.

His family has issued a statement saying, "Now the suspicion that he was being tortured has become a certainty. We call on anyone who can do anything to help. It is a matter of life and death. They took from us a healthy child and now he is being rushed to hospital."

The Shabak informed the family that their child was being rushed to a medical center but interrogators refused to permit his parents to meet or accompany him.

Attorney Adi Keidar of legal aid society Honenu whose appeal to let the minor be accompanied by a parent was rejected, said that "the contempt for the right of people under interrogation has gone up a notch to a contempt for their state of health. We view very seriously the fact that despite the medical complications the intensive interrogation persists as does the refusal to permit family or an attorney to see him."

Shabak Interrogation: Violence, Humiliation, Shabbat Violation on Jewish Hilltop Youth under Immoral Administrative Detention

BS"D

ISA Interrogation: Violence, Humiliation, Shabbat Violation

Thursday, April 14, 2016, 22:11 After 10 days of interrogation in ISA facilities, one of the five detainees in a current case, Shenior Dana, met for the first time with an attorney. Dana revealed to Honenu Attorney Aharon Roza what he had experienced and painted a grim picture of violated rights, humiliation, brutality and trampled religious rights.
Dana told Roza that the interrogations were carried out during most of the hours of the day and the night, severely depriving him of sleep for days on end. During interrogations his arms were handcuffed behind his back for many hours, causing pain, and from time to time he was subjected to actual physical violence, sometimes as if it was accidental.
The interrogators also denied the detainees their religious needs and purposefully offended their religious sensibilities. Dana stated that during Shabbat, for many hours, loud music was played in the interrogation rooms, the interrogators smoked very close to him and from time to time offered him a smoke. Additionally all week long he was refused time to pray.
Dana reported that during interrogations the ISA interrogators humiliated him and threatened him, saying that they have various ways and methods to injure him and his relatives.
Honenu Attorney Aharon Roza responded to what he heard from Dana: "Today, in a discussion I was permitted to have with the detainee Shenior Dana, after he had been barred from meeting with me for almost 10 days, I was horrified to hear that in the framework of the ISA investigation, and in the framework of interrogation methods which someone delusional thinks are legitimate, a religious man was taken for interrogation on Shabbat, a telephone playing extremely loud music was placed in front of his face, cigarettes were lit in front of him, and he was offered a smoke. There are no words to describe the goings-on other than embarrassment and disgrace."
On Thursday, April 15, the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court extended Dana's remand by four days, until Monday, April 18, at which time he will be brought with the other detainees to a court deliberation.
The four other detainees in the case have not been allowed to meet with an attorney, some of them for over 10 days. This situation necessitated special authorization from the Central District Court, which authorized the order prohibiting the detainees from meeting with an attorney for an additional four days.

Continued Incarceration of Meir Ettinger, Immoral Administrative Orders in Israel against Jewish Hilltop Youths, Lobbying Rabbanim, Please Lobby the Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah to get involved and not to be passive!

bs"d

The following was sent to many Rabbanim a few days ago right before the Moetzet meeting in the hope that this topic would generate  awareness and the subject be raised and discussed at the Moetzet meeting.

Rabbi Mordechai Tendler writes letter on behalf of Meir Ettinger!!! Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah Meeting today 4 Nissan 5776. Rabbanim called upon to make a Statement to Free Meir Ettinger from Jail under immoral Administrative Detention Orders

Unfortunately, Rabbi Feldman did not bring the matter up at the Moetzet meeting. We don't know why not.

We believe that when other Rabbanim and regular Baal Baatim lobby members of the MGH (Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah) it will encourage them to take a more active role rather than just allow events to unfold in a negative sense, with  the continued GOI (Government of Israel)  harassment against fellow Jews.  This harassment would never happen if there was a strong outcry of opposition. Protest would surely be a strong deterrent of these practices if  thousands of caring Jews would follow MGH's lead.

Lichvod HaRav, and Community Leader, amv"sh

If seeing our brothers incarcerated without charges and without a fair trial based on trumped up allegations by Shabak bothers you, please write a public letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu.  If you carry any influence among fellow Rabbi's  or among your congregants, please encourage public letters to Prime Minister Netanyahu to stop immoral Administrative detention orders.  This  has enabled the fabrication  of false charges by Shabak and gave the Israeli Judiciary the legal authority  to torture innocent Jews into forced confessions of the Duma arson (Elisha Odess and Amiram ben Oliel). Demand an open and fair investigation by an objective source other than the Defense and Judiciary investigating itself.  Administrative Detention and Orders violates basic human rights. Either Israel tries Meir Ettinger or frees him. The same with the others.  Let us collectively protest  Administrative Detention especially on Jewish Youth with absolutely no solid family history or evidence of terror activity.  Allegations by Shabak alone should not be sufficient to arrest them as it may be politically motivated. Arabs as well should have fair and due process of  the law.  In most situations there is clear documentation, video  etc. that replays the terror act that incriminates the suspect.   Suspects must have the right to an attorney  protecting their fundamental and basic civil rights and a fair trial.

Fwd: BH Lerner Drops Case Against Rachmuth Family - Legal Bullying to Silence Speech about Legitimate Concerns of anti-Semitic Tendencies Backfires! Our Next Battle?... How about Brooklyn Park Slope Food Coop !!!!

bs"d

Dear Fellow Activists....May we go MeChayil El Chayil. from Strength to Strength.

Thank you Richard Allen for keeping us in the loop. By our letter writing, sending out emails, using social media etc. we B"H were successful to help the Rachmuth Family face their bullies head on.  This gave them the inner strength to stand up for Israel and not cave into submission by those who punitively were out to discredit the Rachmuth's. The Rachmuth's were targeted because they exposed Lerner's anti Israel, pro BDS support that was embedded in their institution, their staff and curriculum.  Being that Lerner is a Jewish Institution they probably thought they could get away with it beyond reproach.  Sadly to say, as we see with Bernie Sanders and Simone Zimmerman his latest Jewish Liason, being Jewish does not necessarily translate into being Pro Israel and pro Jewish.  Sometimes Jews are useful idiots for our enemies with short term gains and long term betrayal to their people.

May we continue to build on this victory to fight the next anti Israel BDS battle :
This leads us to a discussion to a current battle between Brooklyn Park Slope Food Coop and 4 of its long standing members recently suspended by the Park Slope DC (Disciplinary Committee) because they dared to disrupt a false, offensive, anti-semitic and anti-Zionist BDS presentation at the Park Slope General Meeting on April, 2015.

However, in this ongoing legal battle, with G-d's help, may they stand strong, unapologetic, just like the Rachmuth's in spite of their suspension and in spite of those who benefit from the Coop applying all kinds of personal and public pressure. This will not silence their speech and their voice that expresses outrage and legitimate concerns of an anti-Semitic bias of the Park Slope Food Coop.  This bias against Israel is clearly evident in the Park Slope Newspaper publication Lineswaiter and in the Park Slope Food Coop Reading Series, Wordsprouts. Has Lineswaiter ever featured Judea and Samaria products or spoke of Judea and Samaria Organic Farming?  Has Wordsprouts ever featured a series on the Shemittah, Sabbatical year, once in 7 years when the Land of Israel, Judea and Samaria inclusive within Israel's Biblical borders, is let to lie fallow? This is a clear demonstration that the entire Land belongs to G-d (not to Palestinians and not even to the Jewish Farmer).  Worsprouts Reading Series have featured a pro Islamic Bias.  Those that decide the Agenda of the Coop have taken over the will of its membership infiltrated by BDS  rather than the Agenda of the original members and the majority  of the Coop members which is a love for Organic Food and a healthy lifestyle much more in line with the values of the Jewish Settlers living in Judea and Samaria than the hate filled agenda and education of the Palestinians out for the destruction of Israel. .

Brooklyn Park Slope Food Coop in the News Again! ! 4 Long Standing Pro Israel Members of Park Slope Food Coop get suspended for protesting BDS Agenda Item. Time to Sue the Park Slope Food Coop for defamation, slander libel, lies and falsehoods. Time to represent Organic Farmers and Business in Judea and Samaria!!! Time and stand up to Anti-Israel BDS Agendas

We are pleased that public pressure has finally forced the Lerner school's hand in dismissing their meritless lawsuit against our family. After we found, to our astonishment and horror, that the only Jewish school in a 50 mile radius employed professional and prolific anti-Israel BDS activists as teachers and administrators, the school initiated what amounts to legal bullying as part of a larger coordinated attempt to silence our speech about legitimate concerns of anti-Semitic tendencies of Lerner school teachers and administrators.
While they'll try to claim otherwise, the countless internal documents from the school and supporters clearly state their intent to harm our family, legally and otherwise.
Over the past 638 days (or 21 months) we were subjected to a clear attempt to intimidate, smear, and stifle our ability to express legitimate concerns about anti-Israel, and anti-Semitic activities by people associated with the school.  The allegations and the strategy behind bringing the suit were carefully calibrated to defame and harass our family into submission. School administrators and their supporters repeated slanderous claims that we were liars, bigots, and scofflaws in every forum on a continuous basis.  As such, we have been incorrectly portrayed as villains who want to destroy an innocent school and have become object of scorn in the community where we run a business and raise our children.
The strategy failed to silence us and crush our spirit has failed.

We have leaned on our families and friends in the broader global Jewish community who have ardently stood by our side against during this attack.  We were not silenced into submission, and we are not finished defending our family against the  anti-semitic and defamatory tactics of this BDS movement here in Durham, North Carolina.

Please see court filing attached.

Best regards,

Israel's Slippery Slope to Political Wimpishness by Sarah Lehmann

Israel's Slippery Slope To Politically Correct Wimpishness

Published: April 14th, 2016

A few weeks ago an IDF soldier shot and killed a neutralized Palestinian terrorist who had just stabbed and wounded an IDF officer in Hebron. The soldier claimed he shot the terrorist due to his fear that the terrorist had an explosives belt hidden under the suspiciously heavy coat he was wearing (it was a mild day).

After a partial video of the event was released by the left-wing NGO B'Tselem, the soldier was promptly pounced upon by Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ya'alon, and just about every leftist in Israel euphoric at the opportunity to nail a soldier with sanction from the higher ups.

Without waiting for an investigation, Netanyahu and Ya'alon figuratively shot one of their own soldiers in a preemptive attempt to placate critics of Israel who look for every excuse to blast Israel for the use of "excessive" force against terrorists.

"Whatever happened in Hebron doesn't represent the values of the IDF," Netanyahu said. "The IDF expects its soldiers to behave level-headedly and in accordance with the rules of engagement." Ya'alon said the soldier's apparent actions were "in utter breach of IDF values and of our code of ethics in combat."

Netanyahu and Ya'alon quickly backtracked after an outpouring of Israeli public sentiment in support of the soldier. But the damage was done. And those on the right side of the political divide were swift to point that out. Education Minister Naftali Bennet accused the two of rushing to "dance to B'Tselem's fiddle." Yisrael Beiteinu chair Avigdor Lieberman demanded the impeachment of Ya'alon and called the prime minister "spineless."

No one disputes the need for cases like this to be tried in a fair and equitable manner. But the prime minister's political calculation, which took the side of a terrorist over a soldier before any of the facts were in, misfired. Not only did it do little to assuage the false claims of anti-Semites against the "oppressive" Israeli army, it further impeded the fight against terror.

Soldiers need to know their backs are covered – or they'll be less inclined to cover the backs of innocent civilians. If they are forced to quash split-second decisions in their favor as they battle an insidious enemy, they end up betraying both themselves and the people they are protecting. A soldier who dies due to an absurd overabundance of caution for terrorists is a tragic loss of life and a symbol of his army's diminished will to fight. A terrorist who dies has simply accomplished his goal.

Terrorists do not abide by rules of engagement. And any fool who tries to accommodate them is not only foolish; he becomes complicit in those acts of terrorism himself.

In an era when every Israeli move is scrutinized and demonized, Israel's leaders need to be especially stalwart defenders of their army. With every knife in the back of a Jew, Israel should defy its critics by doubling efforts to crush the enemy rather than cave to it.

Back in February, Netanyahu slammed Swedish Foreign Minster Margot Wallstrom for accusing Israeli forces of conducting "extrajudicial executions" of Palestinians during the recent wave of violence. Netanyahu would have been wise to maintain a consistent defense a few weeks later in Hebron, because it seems to make no difference to Sweden whether Israeli soldiers are justified or not.

Sweden and other countries hostile to Israel have long pointed fingers at the Jewish state. Whether goaded by outright anti-Semitism or fear of their overwhelming and growing Muslim populations, they seem to believe that every terrorist's life is worth saving and every Jew's life is worth endangering.

Likewise, Netanyahu's protestations against U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy's recent indictment of Israel rings feeble and false when the prime minister maintains an inconsistent front. Leahy, a longtime critic of Israel, and ten House members sent a letter to Secretary of State Kerry asking the State Department to investigate claims of "gross violations of human rights" by both Israel and Egypt. It's a move that could potentially threaten U.S. military assistance to Israel.

Netanyahu responded that the IDF protects civilians from "bloodthirsty terrorists who come to murder them." But those civilians would feel more confident if their leader had demanded investigations into "bloodthirsty terrorists" in Hebron and their accomplices like B'Tselem rather than an Israeli soldier concerned for his safety and the safety of his colleagues.

As a combatant on the front lines of the fight against terrorism, Israel has a moral imperative to powerfully confront the enemy in a battle that goes far beyond its own borders. With Islamist terrorism sweeping the world, Netanyahu's political posturing in a local Hebron skirmish has regional and even global ramifications.

Netanyahu should be exposing rather than obscuring the suicidal realities of leftist policies. American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan long complained of having to fight with their hands tied behind their backs. They too were and are simultaneously fighting a real and figurative enemy. And it would be easier for them to take their cue from Israel as a vanquishing fighter rather than a vacillating wimp.

There are real and tragic consequences to America's self-imposed constraints on the battlefield. As Islamist terrorism continues to expand, so will the death toll of American fighters who have to consult lawyers before combating the enemy. It has morphed into a military farce of ask questions first, maybe shoot later.

With pushback from common-sense Israelis and, hopefully, from a new U.S. administration come next January, there may yet be hope for sanity to prevail on the military battlefield. But that sanity has to prevail on the political battlefield first.
