Dear Fellow Activists, amv"sh
It's Yud Aleph Cheshvan, the Yahrzeit of Rachel Imeinu. Evelyn Haies and the RCRF (Rachel's Children Reclamation Foundation is having it's annual Dinner in Brooklyn NY. This Dinner always has plentiful and delicious food (buffet syle) and a rich program. It supports an organization that has an active Jewish living presence in in Beit Lechem. The RCRF is a major property owner adjacent to Kever Rochel and this past year especially has done a lot to see that there constant activity. While other organizations raise plentiful funds to bus people back and forth to Kever Rochel to pray at her grave, The RCRF has ongoing classes and events at Beit Bnei Rachel so that there is an active living Jewish presence in Beit Lechem adjacent the Kever of Rochel Imeinu. She has hosted Bat Mitzvahs and Hachnasot Sifrei Torah. She has wonderful speakers and active womens' learning groups, lectures and yeshiva learning whicih emphasize the beautiful middot of Rachel Imeinu. She has held annual Tu Bishvat events and Evelyn's entire life has been devoted to promoting Rochel Imeinu's legacy. She is planning a Museum of Aliya at Beit Bnei Rachel which will document Aliya from the Diaspora to Eretz Yisroel.
In the Diaspora she holds a yearly dinner on Rachel Imeinu's Yahrzeit 11 Chesvan, that raises awareness not only to Jews but also to public officials serving in government in the USA as per the importance of Kever Rochel. This Dinner helps those of us in Chutz LeAretz be part of Yishuv Eretz Yisroel especially at the Kever of Rochel Imeinu who cries for her children "VeShavu Banim LiGvulam!"
If you know Evelyn's work please send in your letters of support as you have in the past. Please promote her work and what her organization is doing. Of course all contributions are welcome and appreciated as well. It gives her strength to carry on. If you live in the New York area please come to her Dinner and enjoy a wonderful evening featuring a delicious fleishik buffet with wonderful speakers. If you are single, it's an opportunity to bring a friend or friends and socialize while supporting an organization that represents the selfless middot of Mother Rachel and if you are retired it's a wonderful night out that includes supper and entertainment. If you are married with littlel kids it's a great excuse to find a babysitters for a few hours and enjoy the evening while mingling among fellow lovers of Judea and Samaria. If you are a kid, you can play with Evelyn's beautiful grandchildren and help sell raffle tickets. It's an evening where all are welcome as long as you love what Rachel Imeinu stands for.
