DOCUMENTATION AND BIBLICAL REFERENCES: Defending the Covenant! Israel is the Promised Land to the Nation of Israel EXCLUSIVELY. This is fundamental to our Torah.

bs"d

Can the Rabbanim testify to the following and publicize? References follow...
  • The Land of Israel is G-d's Promised Land to the Nation of Israel as an everlasting inheritance. This is fundamental to the Torah. Anyone that denies this fundamental truth denies the Torah. Non Jews have the status of a Ger Toshav.  Ger Toshav is a term in Judaism for a non-Jew living in the Land of Israel who accepts upon him/herself Israel's Sovereignty and observes the Noahide Laws.  They too have civil rights.
  • The Land of Israel is a Holy Land. The Nation of Israel is required to settle the land and sanctify the Land by keeping the Commandments, Precepts and Ordinances in the Torah thus being a Light unto the Nations.
  • Doing so, Hashem will bestow His  Blessings upon Israel and upon the Nations of the World through them.
  • Hashem is True to Keep His Promise
  • The boundaries of Israel are delineated in the Torah in Bamidbar /Numbers. These boundaries were then divided among the Tribes according to their families based on those that left Egypt and those who entered the Land as specified in the Torah. Joshua was instructed to lead the people to conquer the Land and live a Torah true lifestyle. The entire Nation was expected to participate in conquering the Land and not to allow their fellow brother to shoulder the burden on their own.   This set a precedent for all generations.
  • The Entire Land belongs to G-d and only He has the authority to give it to whom He wishes.
  • The Shemittah year is testimony that the Land belongs to G-d.
  • Three Holiest places in Israel were parcels of land that was bought and documented purchases in the Bible. These spots are the most contested.
    • Maarat HaMachpela- Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron
    • Har HaBayit - Temple Mount by King David
    • Kever Yosef  - Joseph's Tomb in Shchem (Nablus)
  • Any attempt to give away the Land is null and void,  Great Assembly at Marienbad
Halacha LeMaaseh:   Applying These Statements to Today's Realities.
  1. It was a terrible mistake to destroy 22 beautiful communities in Gush Katif in 2005. We must learn from our mistakes!
  2. The government of Israel should not demolish any Jewish homes, not in Amona, not  in Judea and Samaria,  nor anywhere else throughout Israel as they did in Gush Katif in order to placate the Nations of the World.  It serves to nullify the Torah and brings danger, destruction and terror.
  3. The Gov't of Israel should not be afraid to assert Jewish Sovereignty  and proceed to demolish the illegal structures of the Beduin squatters in the Israeli town of Sussiya and elsewhere.  No country would tolerate the takeover of Land by a foreign entity.
  4. The Rabbis protest  UNESCO's resolutions to obliterate any Jewish connection to our H-ly Jewish Heritage sites by altering their names  Such H-ly Jewish Heritage Sites include and are not limited to
    • Temple Mount, known as Har HaMoriah. Har HaBayit, Site of the H-ly Temples, Site of Akeidath Yitzchok
    • Maarat HaMachpela - Tomb of the Patriarchs - Chevron ( Hebron)
    • Kever Rochel Rachel's Tomb - Beit Lechem (Bethlehem)
    • Kever Yosef- Joseph's Tomb Shchem (Nablus)

DOCUMENTATION AND REFERENCES:

Israel is the Promised Land to the Nation of Israel. This is fundamental to the Torah. Anyone that denies this fundamental truth denies the Torah.
Background:

G-d Promised the Land of Israel to the seed of Avrohom, Yitzchok and Yaakov. This Birthright goes to  children of Yaakov Avinu, as an everlasting inheritance.

The descendants of the Children of Yaakov Avinu became the 12 Tribes of Israel. Jews of today are primarily descendant from the Tribe of Judah, Benjamin and Levy the remnant of the dispersion of the 2nd Temple. Recently with the return of the exiles, Israel has welcomed Ethiopians Jews, Bnei Menasheh and others going back further in time.

The name Israel is another name G-d gave to Yaakov Avinu after he fought with the Sar shel Eisav, Eisav's angel. (Breishit 32:25-29)

This covenant to our forefathers was repeated to Moshe Rabbeinu following the worship of the Golden Calf. Hashem remains true to His Promise to our forefathers.

This Covenant is repeated in the Prophets and recited daily in the morning prayers (Pesukei DeZimra) (4)

The Promise is reiterated in the portions of the Tefillin

The Covenant with Avraham

Breshit, Lech-Lecha (12:1): Note the FIRST topic G-d raises with the first Jew in the world (Abraham) is  Eretz Yisrael.

Breishith 15:18-21. Extended boundaries

On that day Hashem made a covenant with Abram saying; "To your descendants have I given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River, the Kennite, the Kenizzite, and the Kadmonite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, and the Rephaim; the Amorite, the Cananite, the Girgashite and the Jebusite"

Then again in Parshas Lech Lecha before Hashem commands Avraham and his household to do Bris Mila (circumcision) Hashem says Perek 17, Pasuk 2 "I will set My covenant between Me and you and I will increase you most exceedingly". After Hashem changes Avrams name to Avraham He says Pasuk 7 "I will ratify My covenant between Me and you and between your offspring after you, throughout their generations, as an everlasting covenant, to be a G-d to you and to your offspring after you, and I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojourns - the whole of the land of Canaan -as an everlasting possession; and I shall be a G-d to them." Then Hashem describes the covenant that Avraham should keep - the Bris Milah. Pasuk 13 "Thus, My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant."

In Parshas Vayera when Hashem decides to inform Avraham of his decision to wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah, Perek 18 Pasuk 18 "And Hashem said, 'Shall I conceal from Abraham what I do, now that Abraham is surely to become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by him? For I have loved him, because he commands his children and the household after him that they keep the way of Hashem, doing charity and justice, in order that Hashem might then bring upon Abraham that which He had spoken of him."

Following the Akeida in Breishis 22 Pasuk 15 it says "The angel of Hashem called to Abraham, a second time from heaven. And he said, "By Myself I swear - the word of Hashem - that because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only one, that I shall surely bless you and greatly increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens and like the sand on the seashore; and your offspring shall inherit the gate of its enemy. And all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your offspring, because you have listened to My voice."

The Covenant to Yitzchok is Breishith 26:2-6.

"Hashem appeared to him and said, "Do not descend to Egypt; dwell in the land that I shall indicate to you. Sojourn in this land I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your offspring will I give all these lands, and establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father; I will increase your offspring like the stars of the heavens; and will give to your offspring all these lands; and all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your offspring. Because Abraham obeyed My voice, and observed My safeguards, My commandments, My decrees, and my Torahs.

The Covenant of Yaakov is in Breishis 28:13-16.

"And behold! Hashem was standing over him, and He said, "I am Hashem, G-d of Abraham your father and G-d of Isaac; the ground upon which you are lying, to you will I give it and to your descendants. Your offspring shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread out powerfully westward, eastward, northward and southward; and all the families of the earth shall bless themselves by you and by your offspring. Behold. I am with you; I will guard you wherever you go, and I will return you to this soil; for I will not forsake you until I will have done what I have spoken about you."

The Covenants and promises to the forefathers share some of the following points.
Land is promised to them and to their children afterwards
They will multiply as the dust or sand of the earth and as the stars
The Nations of the world are blessed through them
The children must keep the commandments in order to be worthy of the Land.

And G-d promised Moses that He will remember the Covenant He made with our forefathers Leviticus 26:42

42 and I will remember My covenant [with] Jacob, and also My covenant [with] Isaac, and also My covenant [with] Abraham I will remember. And I will remember the Land,
that even when Israel sins, G-d will remember the Covenant He made with our forefathers.

And indeed when Israel sinned with the Golden calf Moses prayed on behalf of Israel and begs G-d to spare them Exodus 32:13

13 "Remember for the sake of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, Your servants whom You swore by Yourself, and You told them, I shall increase their offspring like the stars of heaven. and this entire land of which I spoke, I shall give to your offspring, and it shall be their heritage forever."  translation from Stone Chumash

On Rosh Hashana in shul we include Hashem's Promise Vayikra 26 Pasuk (42) in the Zichronos
"Vezacharti as Brisi Yaakov, Veaf as Brisi Yitzchok, Veaf es Brisi Avraham Ezkor, Vehaaretz Ezkor". I will remember My Covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac, and also My Covenant with Abraham will I remember, and I will remember the Land. "

Faith-fullness to G-d's Covenant is not only basic and a fundamental principle to Judaism but is  basic and true principle for humanity. We learn this from the Covenant Hashem made with Noah and his descendants.
After the flood, God sealed a covenant with Noah with the following admonitions (Genesis 9)
The Seven Laws of Noah (Hebrewשבע מצוות בני נח‎‎ Sheva Mitsvot Bne Noah), also referred to as the Noahide Lawsor the Noachide Laws (from the English transliteration of the Hebrew pronunciation of "Noah"), are a set of imperatives which, according to the Talmud, were given by God [1] as a binding set of laws for the "children of Noah" – that is, all of humanity.[2][3]
The seven Noahide laws as traditionally enumerated are:[7]
    1. Do not deny God.
    2. Do not blaspheme God.
    3. Do not murder.
    4. Do not engage in illicit sexual relations.
    5. Do not steal.
    6. Do not eat from a live animal.
    7. Establish courts/legal system to ensure obedience to the law.
A rainbow is a reminder of the Covenant that G‑d made with Noah, his descendants, and all living creatures. Therefore, upon seeing a rainbow in the sky, we recite the following blessing:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֶלוֹקינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם זוֹכֵר הַבְּרִית וְנֶאֱמָן בִּבְרִיתוֹ וְקַיָם בְּמַאֲמָרוֹ

Baruch ata Ado-shem Elo-keinu melech ha'olam zocher ha'brit v'ne'eman bivrito v'kayam b'ma'amaro.

Blessed are You, Lord our G‑d, King of the universe, who remembers the covenant, and is faithful to His covenant, and keeps His promise.

In the prophets and every day in the Pesukei D'Zimra we remember how Abraham was a faithful servant keeping
G-d's  laws and Statutes and that Hashem will keep his part of the Covenant because He is righteous.

Nechemia Chapter 9

This Prayer recited every morning in Pesukei DeZimra

You are the L-rd G-d, Who chose Abram, took him out of Ur of the Chaldees and made his name Abraham.

Shmot 13:5

And it will come to pass that the Lord will bring you into the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Hivvites, and the Jebusites, which He swore to your forefathers to give you a land flowing with milk and honey and you shall perform this service in this month.
And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as He swore unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,

Devorim6 :10

Devorim 11: 21`
לְמַעַן יִרְבּוּ יְמֵיכֶם, וִימֵי בְנֵיכֶם, עַל הָאֲדָמָה, אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע יְהוָה לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם לָתֵת לָהֶם--כִּימֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם, עַל-הָאָרֶץ.  {ס}
 that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, upon the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth. {S}

It is the Holy Land. The Nation of Israel is required to keep the Commandments in the Torah in the Land and

The entire book of Leviticus pertains to the Service in the Temple which can only be done on Har HaBayit which is on Temple Mount.

First thing in the morning to start the daily sacrifices on Har Habayit, the observer on the roof looks towards Hebron,

 Yoma Perek Gimmel Mishneh Aleph.
The Mishneh states (Courtesy of Artscroll)
"The   Administrator said to the assembled Kohanim; 'Go out and see if the time for slaughtering has arrived,," If it had arrived, the one who sees [it] (the observer on the roof) says "Barkai!"  (the sheen of the sun can already be seen)

Mattisya ben Shmuel says: (he was the administrator of the lots) 'The whole of the east has lit up.' 'as far as Hebron?' And he (the observer on the roof) says Yes!!

The Entire Land belongs to G-d and only He has the authority to give it to whom He wishes

Bereishit (Genesis 1:1-6:8)
The First Rashi "Rebbe Yitzchak said, '[God] need only have begun the Torah from 'This month shall be to you" which is the first Commandment which Israel was commanded. For what reason did it begin with 'Bereishit'?... So that if the nations of the world will say to Israel, 'You are bandits, for you conquered the lands of the seven nations' Israel will say to them, 'The whole earth belongs to the Holy One, Blessed is He; He created it and He gave it to the one found proper in His eyes. By His wish He gave it to them, and by His wish He took it from them and gave it to us.'" (Rashi, Bereishit 1:1) Read more at http://www.aish.com/tp/i/gl/173304521.html

Delineated Boundaries of Israel

Bamidbar 34: 1-12
Numbers Chapter 34 בְּמִדְבַּר

א  וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה, אֶל-מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. 1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
ב  צַו אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם, כִּי-אַתֶּם בָּאִים, אֶל-הָאָרֶץ כְּנָעַן:  זֹאת הָאָרֶץ, אֲשֶׁר תִּפֹּל לָכֶם בְּנַחֲלָה, אֶרֶץ כְּנַעַן, לִגְבֻלֹתֶיהָ. 2 'Command the children of Israel, and say unto them: When ye come into the land of Canaan, this shall be the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan according to the borders thereof.
ג  וְהָיָה לָכֶם פְּאַת-נֶגֶב מִמִּדְבַּר-צִן, עַל-יְדֵי אֱדוֹם; וְהָיָה לָכֶם גְּבוּל נֶגֶב, מִקְצֵה יָם-הַמֶּלַח קֵדְמָה. 3 Thus your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin close by the side of Edom, and your south border shall begin at the end of the Salt Sea eastward;

ה  וְנָסַב הַגְּבוּל מֵעַצְמוֹן, נַחְלָה מִצְרָיִם; וְהָיוּ תוֹצְאֹתָיו, הַיָּמָּה. 5 and the border shall turn about from Azmon unto the Brook of Egypt, and the goings out thereof shall be at the Sea.
ו  וּגְבוּל יָם, וְהָיָה לָכֶם הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל וּגְבוּל; זֶה-יִהְיֶה לָכֶם, גְּבוּל יָם. 6 And for the western border, ye shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your west border.
ז  וְזֶה-יִהְיֶה לָכֶם, גְּבוּל צָפוֹן:  מִן-הַיָּם, הַגָּדֹל, תְּתָאוּ לָכֶם, הֹר הָהָר. 7 And this shall be your north border: from the Great Sea ye shall mark out your line unto mount Hor;

י  וְהִתְאַוִּיתֶם לָכֶם, לִגְבוּל קֵדְמָה, מֵחֲצַר עֵינָן, שְׁפָמָה. 10 And ye shall mark out your line for the east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham;
יא  וְיָרַד הַגְּבֻל מִשְּׁפָם הָרִבְלָה, מִקֶּדֶם לָעָיִן; וְיָרַד הַגְּבֻל, וּמָחָה עַל-כֶּתֶף יָם-כִּנֶּרֶת קֵדְמָה. 11 and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down, and shall strike upon the slope of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;
12 and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and the goings out thereof shall be at the Salt Sea; this shall be your land according to the borders thereof round about.'

Joshua Chapter 15 -- description of the borders of Eretz Yisrael which most certainly include Jerusalem and the entire Judea and Samaria as well as Gush Katif (note the clear reference to Gaza (the vicinity of Gush Katif) being part of  the inheritance of the  tribe of Judah.

Gemara (Talmud), Eruvin, 45 Daf 1.  Emphasizes that border communities must be defended even against Petty thieves (minor property crimes), even on Shabat. For those familiar with Talmudic logic, this teaches the importance of protecting one's borders hence one's country.

The Shemittah year is testimony that the Land belongs to G-d.
In Parshas Behar, the Torah says, "V'Haretz lo timacher l'tzmisus ki li kol ha'aretz…" "You shall not sell the land in perpetuity, for to Me belongs the entire land for you are sojourners and residents with Me." [Vayikra 25:23]

Three Holiest places in Israel were parcels of land that was bought and documented purchases in the Bible. These spots are the most contested.

It is the Cave of Machpela, the Tomb of Joseph in Nablus, and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem that are the most disputed pieces of land in Israel today?

It is these three pieces of land that are not only belong to the Jewish people by Divine right, but they were individually purchased, as well. Abraham purchased Hebron, Jacob purchased Nablus (Shchem), and David purchased Jerusalem.
Jews and Christians familiar with the Hebrew Bible are aware that the purchase of the Temple Mount by King David, the Cave of the Patriarchs by Abraham and the Tomb of Joseph by Jacob are clearly documented in the Bible.
The Temple Mount’s purchase is recorded in 1 Chronicles:
And David said to Ornan, “Give me the place of the threshing-floor, so that I may build thereon an altar to the Lord; give it to me for the full price, so that the plague be stayed from the people.” And Ornan said to David, “Take for yourself, and may my lord the king do what seems good in his eyes. See, I have given the cattle for burnt offerings, and the threshing tools for [fire] wood, and the wheat for a meal offering; I have given everything.” And King David said to Ornan, “No, for I will buy [it] for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, and offer up burnt offerings for nothing.” And David gave to Ornan for the place shekels of gold weighing six hundred. (I Chronicles 21:22-25)
The purchase of the Cave of the Patriarchs is recorded in Chapter 23 of Genesis:
And Abraham listened to Ephron, and Abraham weighed out to Ephron the silver that he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, accepted by the merchant. And so the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, facing Mamre, was established (as Abraham’s possession). [This included] the field and the cave that was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, which were within its entire border around. (Genesis 23:16-17)
The purchase of the land on which the Tomb of Joseph was built is recorded in Chapter 24 of the Book of Joshua:
The bones of Joseph, which the Children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, were buried in Shechem in a parcel of land Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred pieces of silver, and it became a heritage for the children of Joseph. (Joshua 24:32)
Although no money was exchanged, the Bible also records the burial of Rachel by Jacob:
So Rachel died, and she was buried on the road to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. And Jacob erected a monument on her grave; that is the tombstone of Rachel until this day. (Genesis 35:19-20)

Any attempt to give away the Land is null and void (8) Great Assembly at Marienbad 1937

...The text of the resolution of the Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah contains the statements:  "The foundation of the Jewish people's right to the Holy Land is based on the Torah and the prophets.... A Jewish State not based on the principles of Torah is a denial of Jewish origin, is opposed to the identity and to the true stature of our people, and undermines the basis of existence of our people...Any relinquishment of the Holy Land given to the Jewish people by G-d has no validity" (HaPardes, 11:6) See page 8  http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2014/11/knessiah-gedolah-of-marienbad-moetzet.html

Robin,

It's not as much of a smackdown victory as those who care about the Constitution, separation of powers and national security might like, but President Trump did get mostly good news from the Supreme Court about his temporary ban on immigration from six terrorism-plagued nations. The Court will hear arguments in October, and until then, the ban won't apply to the plaintiffs or people like them; for instance, American citizens who want to bring their relatives to the US or students attending college in Hawaii. But otherwise, the SCOTUS granted the Administration's request for an injunction against the lower courts' stay on the ban, upholding Trump's order as it applies to foreign nationals who have no bona fide relationship with any American person or entity. The Court also barred nonprofits from contacting would-be immigrants and establishing a relationship with them purely to help them enter the US. Foreigners who have no connection to the US have no right to demand entry.

Hard to believe a legal concept that simple had to go all the way to the Supreme Court, but then, it came by way of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. Depending on them to stop idiotic, unconstitutional arguments is like using a butterfly net for a coffee filter. Or depending on liberal judges to keep terrorists out of America.

Sincerely,

Mike Huckabee

Another victory for religious freedom from the Supreme Court: the SCOTUS ruled 7-2 in the case of Trinity Lutheran v. Missouri that the state violated a church preschool's constitutional rights by barring it from applying for a state grant for aid to resurface its playground with rubber from the state's tire recycling program. The state claimed it was a violation of separation of church and state, but the majority wrote that "this Court has repeatedly confirmed that denying a generally available benefit solely on account of religious identity imposes a penalty on the free exercise of religion." In other words, the grant wouldn't be used to promote religion; it was just to resurface a school playground, and denying the school the same benefit as all other schools just because it has a religious connection is religious discrimination.

Interesting note on the liberal Justices: Sotomayor seemed to strongly dissent, Ginsburg joined her dissent, but in a hopeful sign for people of faith, Kagan voted with the majority in favor of the church school.

The SCOTUS also agreed to hear an appeal from a cake maker with religious objections to being forced to make same-sex wedding cakes.

New Harvard poll turns heads for Trump

By Mike Huckabee

Finally, there is a general sense abroad in the land that Americans, even many Democrats, are bone-tired of the anti-Russia hysteria, the "resistance" to the honest election results, the undermining of the legally-elected President, the violent rhetoric and now actual assaults on Republicans, and the endless investigations of investigations of nothing in particular. Democratic leaders are reportedly urging party members to dial back the over-the-top Russia talk after the Georgia special election became the Dems' fourth decisive loss in a row since they tried to blame Hillary's loss on a Russian conspiracy.

A new poll by that notorious right-leaning source, Harvard, confirms that Americans' patience with political grandstanding, conspiracies and obstructionism is now as thin as a fashion model's sandwich. It found that 56% of Americans want Congress and the media to focus on other things; unimportant little side issues like terrorism, the economy, health care, national security and jobs. Sixty-four percent think the Russia probes are damaging the nation, while 73% think they're distracting Congress from more important business. Most Americans think that even if Trump or his staffers did do something inappropriate, it doesn't rise to the level of an impeachable offense. And 62% believe there is currently no hard evidence to support the whole Russian collusion conspiracy.

Of course, that last number could change. If all Americans would pay attention only to legitimate news sources and listen to the top intelligence officials and Congress members who have actually seen what the investigators of the "Russian collusion" tale have seen, then that 62% who think it's just unsupported bull droppings could well be up to 100% by August.

Gowdy grills Johnson

By Mike Huckabee

Future historians may look back on the past week as the turning point when the public's impatience with Washington's and the media's obsession over the "Russia-Trump campaign collusion" conspiracy finally reached critical mass. The sheer weight of the countless anonymous "bombshell" leaks that turned out to be bogus may have finally snapped the camel's vertebra. Millions of Americans (even many who didn't support Trump and desperately wanted it to be true) are finally starting to accept that there is no "there" there and telling their elected representatives, "Drop this garbage and get back to work!!!"

Here's a round-up of why this past week may have marked the beginning of the end of this feeble excuse for Hillary Clinton losing that's been inflated into a national crisis, or as some liberals claimed, "Treason!" (a crime they considered as passe as Blue Laws, until they thought they could accuse Trump of it.)

First, former DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson admitted under questioning by Rep. Trey Gowdy that he had seen no evidence that the Russians changed vote totals or that Trump or anyone in his campaign had "colluded, conspired or coordinated with the Russians or anyone else to infiltrate or impact our voter infrastructure." This made him the latest of a string of top intelligence officials to tell Congress under oath that they had seen no evidence of collusion, nor of Trump trying to obstruct justice by killing the investigation of the crime for which they haven't been able to find any evidence in over a year of looking.

Democrat criticizes Obama (well sort-of)

By Mike Huckabee

The Obama-Russia revelations shook up the narrative so badly, even Rep. Adam Schiff, the House Intelligence Committee's top Democrat and a rabid partisan who can find an anti-Trump spin in any story short of "Heidi," went on CNN and actually criticized Obama. Of course, he still tried to find ways to slam Trump, such as accusing him of hypocrisy for condemning Russian hacking now when he had asked Russia to hack Hillary Clinton during the campaign.

I'm getting tired of hearing that piece of fake news repeated as if it's holy writ. One more time, for the record: Trump never asked Russia to hack Hillary. He made a sarcastic joke about her utter disregard for cyber security by saying that if the FBI couldn't find the 33,000 emails she'd deleted, maybe the Russians could help them out. He wasn't urging them to hack Hillary's server (that would make no sense; by that time, it had already been scrubbed with BleachBit and smashed with a hammer). He was merely implying that they probably already had all her emails. Like all good jokes, it was funny because it's true.

New Book. More on the Fakestinian People

Bsd

History of the Palestinian People from Ancient Times to Modern History by Assaf A. Voll

University students working under harsh time constraints will find the book particularly suitable because it can be read cover-to-cover in a matter of seconds. That's because all the pages are blank save for a quote in the beginning of the book attributed to the Seinfeld character George Costanza – "Just remember, it's not a lie if you believe it."

Fwd: DO NOT COVET

bs"d

I am posting this on my blog since Roy S.  Neuberger's comments are also relevant to President Trump. The left is very jealous of President Trump's success in trying to make this world a better place.  He has succeeded in putting those who have tried to empower evil in their place and they are jealous of his power.  They want to the leaders. They are jealous of his leadership and will do everything in their power to bring him down.

He like Moshe Rabbeinu has to turn to our Almighty G-d in order to successfully continue his G-dly Agenda.

May Trump and his administration understand that to get G-d on his side he needs to take G-d's side and speak the Truth about the Land of Israel and G-d's Eternal Promise to the Nation of Israel in order to achieve an Everlasting Peace!

Speaking against UNESCO's FAKE declaration that the Cave of the Patriarchs is a FAKESTINIAN World Heritage Site is a step in the right direction!

DO NOT COVET

"Lo sachmod … You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's." (Exodus 20:14) This is the last of the Ten Commandments, positioned at the end of the series perhaps because these cosmic words would so clearly affect the future of the Children of Israel.

The antidote to covetousness is to be "sameach b'chelko… satisfied with one's lot." This ideal is held up by our Rabbis as the key to a proper life. (Pirkei Avos 4:1) Why should I try to be someone else? Hashem made me unique!

To covet is to destroy life, both one's own life and other's lives. In the history of our People, the trait of covetousness has been responsible for terrible jealousies which led to the Destruction of the Second Temple and our present catastrophic Exile. This week's Torah Portion describes an instance of jealousy which marks one of the most tragic moments in the history of our Nation.

This process all started, however, at the very beginning of history. In the Garden of Eden, Chava (Eve), our primordial mother, was not quite satisfied, although she lived in the place that was, by definition, perfect. Far be it from me to comprehend what went on in her mind, but I wonder whether it was something like this: perhaps, she thought, Hashem was not one hundred percent correct in the way He set up the universe. "Am I really incapable of handling the distinction between good and evil? After all, Hashem created me with a brain. Surely, He could have trusted me with the capacity to distinguish between what is permitted and what is forbidden."

And so, in an almost-imperceptible way, Chava asserted her desire to be at least partially on an "equal footing" with Hashem. By asserting her "disagreement" with the way He had designed the universe, she used the free will He had given her to try to disrupt His perfect plan. As a result, she introduced suffering into her own life and the life of the entire world. From that moment, death and suffering entered the world, and we are living with the results … until the day when we can rectify this terrible sin of covetousness and return to the Garden of Eden.

In this week's Torah Portion, Korach could not tolerate the leadership role which G-d had assigned to Moses. Korach was brilliant and illustrious, but he was not satisfied with his lot. As a result, the earth opened its mouth and swallowed him alive. Dissatisfaction with one's lot is a basic challenge to Hashem. It doesn't matter how talented or successful a person is, being satisfied with one's lot is independent of other factors. The consequences of coveting what is not ours are intrinsically disastrous.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to engage in a personal conversation with President George W. Bush. My late father was honored at the White House, and the family accompanied him. In this grand setting, amidst a large gathering, I wanted to use the opportunity to speak to the President about the Jewish People and the Land of Israel. Remarkably, I was able to speak personally with the President. During the course of this conversation, I told him why I believed he was suffering so much criticism from the press. I told him that, since he believed in G-d and held to high standards of morality, those who did not adhere to such standards were jealous of him and were trying to pull him down to their level. I know that he appreciated these words of encouragement. In fact, a few minutes later, one of his aides came over to thank me.

The world of politics, both past and present, is beset with such jealousies, and they introduce chaos into the world. Society can exist peacefully only if people are willing to be sameach b'chelko. The fabric of the world is pulled apart when someone cannot "fergin" another person's success. As Rabbi Chanina says, "Pray for the welfare of the government, because if people did not fear it, a person would swallow his fellow alive." (Ethics of the Fathers 3:2)

But does Hashem really expect us to control our emotions?

My friends, as challenging as this may be, this is precisely what Hashem expects of us. Otherwise, why would the Torah command, "lo sachmod?" Do we not say every day, "You shall love Hashem, your G-d, with all your heart…?" How can Hashem expect us to love Him? Well, that is exactly what He expects, and obviously, since He created us, He knows our capabilities. Working on our emotions is a major aspect of self-improvement, a subject upon which we must focus intently, especially now, during the summer months, as the Three Weeks approach and we try to prepare for Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.

During this season, we are trying to re-make ourselves into the people we should be!

Rabbi Samson Rafael Hirsch zt"l says, "He who wishes not to sin must uproot the desire from his heart, for even the desire is itself a sin in G-d's sight… A mortal lawgiver can decree, 'You shall not murder' … but only G-d can decree, 'You shall not covet.' He alone probes the mind and the heart. Before Him not only deeds, but also thoughts and feelings, are manifest…." (Exodus 20:14)

Parshas Korach teaches that we are capable of uprooting jealousy from our hearts. It is a huge avoda, but Hashem expects His children to reach the heights. This is our life work, and our success will bring Moshiach ben Dovid and the Holy Temple, may we see it soon in our days!
