It's Not Just Getting Hot - It's Boiling!

Events regarding "the deal" with Iran are occurring at breakneck speed. Just yesterday and today:

- Prime Minister Netanyahu, via live webcast, made the case against the deal with Iran, with an American, primarily Jewish, audience.

- Several Members of Congress indicated their disapproval of the deal

- Several Members of Congress indicated their approval of the deal.

- The American Jewish Congress (AJC), under the leadership of David Harris, announced it opposes the deal.

- President Obama stated that if Congress kills the deal, rockets will fall on Tel Aviv.

- President Obama, in his continuing criticism of Netanyahu, went on national television to plead his case for the deal.

- The Israeli government responded, issuing a statement reading in part, "This agreement does not prevent war, but brings it closer, because it gives international legitimacy to Iran to build the infrastructure to create an arsenal of nuclear bombs, and is financing the terrorist machine and its aggression with hundreds of billions of dollars."

- Secretary of State Kerry expressed doubt that Iran wants to annihilate Israel, even in the face of repeated statements to that effect, plus the release of a new 400+ page book detailing step-by-step how Iran plans to destroy Israel.

- The Israeli-based rights group, Shurat HaDin filed an injunction in New York to block the release of $100 billion in frozen Iranian assets in the United States.

- Perhaps unsurprisingly, the U.S. intelligence community has informed Congress of evidence that Iran was sanitizing its suspected nuclear military site at Parchin, in broad daylight, days after agreeing to a nuclear deal with world powers.

- And finally, Chuck "the Shomer" Schumer has continued to maintain silence. He is probably still poring over the details of the deal to make an "informed decision". Or, holding his finger up determining which way the wind is blowing.

There is some great analysis out there, way too much to be included here. However, here are a few links to some choice pieces.

Last Night's Memorial Tribute to Ze'ev Jabotinsky

AFSI and the Nordau Circle hosted last night's Memorial Tribute to Ze'ev Jabotinsky, on the occasion of his 75th Yarzheit.

A meaningful and enjoyable time was had by all. Judy Kadish, AFSI's Co-Executive Director, opened the evening with eloquent introductory remarks, followed by AFSI's Chairman, Mark Langfan who offered greetings to the assembly. Mark, without his usual complement of maps, gave a sobering view of what could befall Israel, the Middle East and the entire world if Iran were in possession of nuclear weapons.

Rabbi Avi Weiss, just back from Israel, made a welcome and surprise appearance to honor our guest speaker, Ronn Torossian. Rabbi Weiss spoke most vividly about his recollections of the significance and beauty of Gush Katif before the expulsion in 2005.

The guest speaker for the evening, Ronn Torossian presented an intensely interesting and thought-provoking comparison of the 1930s vs. today, and a brief history lesson of Jabotinsky, the world in which he lived, and the ideology that drove world events in his time and today.

Helen Freedman, AFSI's Executive Director discussed the situation the Jews from Gush Katif have endured for the past 10 years following their expulsion by the Sharon government. This was followed by a short, emotional film about the expulsion and its aftermath.

The crowd enjoyed and appreciated the evening, and we hope to see all of you at next year's commemoration.

More in tomorrow's email!

OBAMA, The Emperor’s New Clothes; Obama, the President, and his New Nuclear Deal With Iran; Obama - Unconstitutional, Executive Power Grab -

bs"d

"The Emperor's New Clothes" (DanishKejserens nye Klæder) is a short tale by Hans Christian Andersen about two weavers who promise an Emperor a new suit of clothes that is invisible to those who are unfit for their positions, stupid, or incompetent. When the Emperor parades before his subjects in his new clothes, no one dares to say that he doesn't see any suit of clothes until a child cries out, "But he isn't wearing anything at all!"

Here we have some honest politicians innocent like children,  who expose the Obama Deal with Iran for what it is
In just seven minutes, US Senator Tom Cotton, a war veteran and Harvard Law School graduate, grilled Secretary of State John Kerry, questioning the Iran deal and exposing its absurdity.

Cotton began his attack on Kerry by stressing that he had to uncover the "secret" and unprecedented side deals between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Kerry claimed that he had not seen the text of these deals.
The Ayatollahs know exactly what the agreement entails, but not the Americans.

Is this not absurd? Please watch and share this video.

Iran Deal Secrets Slowly Leaking Out
http://www.algemeiner.com/2015/08/03/iran-deal-secrets-slowly-leaking-out/
Well, they signed a secret deal.

....A deal so secret that it is off-limits even to the United States and will not be provided by the Obama administration to Congress for their 60-day review.

But these deals are there – and they've crippled the IAEA.

During an interview for Iranian TV discovered by MEMRI, Ali Akbar Salehi, chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, told a reporter that the Iranian government would not have to worry at all about the upcoming IAEA report on the military dimensions of their past nuclear programs. Any problems with the IAEA, he volunteered, had been resolved on a "political level." The IAEA would not act freely, he went on, but would be forced to act "reasonably." "In short, they will be the losers."

The IAEA report has been predetermined by political pressure from higher ups. The Iranians have nothing to fear, which makes an absolute mockery of the entire deal.

Friend,

President Obama's crusade against carbon shows he's more committed to confronting American coal miners than Iranian clerics who chant 'death to America.' Obama's job-killing EPA rule is a handout to Chinese businesses, Arab oil sheiks, Russian energy despots, and Washington insiders completely detached from reality. How can this administration pretend to care about ordinary Americans and then unleash an unconstitutional, executive power grab (my emphasis RT) that will kill 1.4 million American jobs and cost the average American family $800 per year? America should feed, fuel and fight for itself, and this hundred-page Washington mandate is an attack on self-reliance, hard work, and American energy independence.

Sincerely,

Mike Huckabee

Sen. Cruz said if we give Iran $100 billion in this deal, "America will become the #1 provider to terrorism in the entire world!"  Thus we will be aiding and abetting Iran to gain weapons of mass destruction, helping them achieve their goals of universal conquest much sooner .

"Jewish" Arsonist a Frameup? The long list of Arab Attacks over Shabbat following Demolition of Jewish Homes by the Gov't of Israel

bs"d

Arabs Name 'Jewish Arsonist' - but He's in Jail
Arabs claim they found the arsonist from Duma - except he has been in jail since last December; family plans to sue over dangerous framing.

A pattern of Arab Violence surge following demolition of Jewish Homes in Judea and Samaria. http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2015/07/a-protest-letter-to-knesset-members.html, and see long list below.  HaKol Hayehudi has compiled a list of 50 Arab terror attacks and riots over the weekend. This list is not complete…also followed by "staged?" Jewish price tag condemnations perhaps to psychologically justify the demolitions and demonize the settlers?

Often there are reports of violent Jewish Price Tag payback by Jewish Settlers which are nothing less then a blood libel against the Hilltop Youth. Jewish Politicians rush to condemn these price tag attacks allegedly committed by Jews, and the innuendo is that they are probably settlement youth without a shred of real evidence. The damage is done even when no one is actually convicted.

Congresswoman Kathleen Rice  (D-NY) representing the 4th District of New York, has joined the bi-partsan movement to block the Obama/Kerry inspired Nuclear Arms Deal with Iran. She is one of the growing list of democrats to declare her opposition and break with her party's leader.

She released the following statement on her website opposing the deal:

"IRAN DEAL IS A RISK I CAN'T SUPPORT" - Today Kathleen announced her opposition to the final agreement with Iran. Click the link below to read her op-ed in the 5 Towns Jewish Times explaining the reasoning behind her decision.

"
This deal represents a pause, not an end, to Iran's quest for a nuclear weapon. While no deal or action – whether economic, diplomatic, or military – can ensure a disarmed Iran in perpetuity, this deal's search for peace seems too willing to gamble on social progress in Iran, especially when Iranian leaders show little interest in helping to foster it – and even less in becoming anything near a responsible ally in the region. Here, the President is displaying an admirable political vision and optimism, but I just don't trust the progress of that social experiment enough to pay the cost of this gamble's security risk.

And the fact that sanctions can snap back into place if Iran cheats doesn't give me enough confidence to counter that risk. The sanctions we imposed on Iran that proved successful were only successful over time. No matter how quickly we can re-impose these measures in the event we catch Iran cheating, it will take years to recreate the economic pressure that we know influences their decision making.

One of the biggest questions throughout this process has been whether outside inspectors will have the ability to tell if Iran is abiding by this deal. I'm skeptical that they will. The fact that Iran would not agree to "anywhere, anytime" access is troubling - and an apparent continuation of Iran's history of deception."

Please take 2 minutes to call Congresswoman Rice at 516-739-3008 and thank her for her leadership in standing strong, as she always has, in support of the safety and security of both the United States and Israel. You can also email her by clicking here

This is a direct result of your efforts, and it should make you proud. But there is more work to be done. We hope this inspires you to work even harder to encourage our Senators and other Member of Congress to join her in opposing this Iran deal.

Sample text and phone message:

"I am calling to thank Congresswoman Rice for opposing the Iran nuclear deal, and for her leadership in standing strong, as she always has, in support of the safety and security of both the United States and Israel."

Thank-you calls are every bit as important as calls urging a member to do the right thing.   The administration will be pulling out all the stops to get her to change.

Background Information

After more than 20 months of negotiations, the United States and its negotiating partners announced a nuclear agreement with Iran. Throughout the negotiations, AIPAC outlined five critical criteria for a good deal. Unfortunately, the proposed agreement is fundamentally flawed in each of these vital areas.

The Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 established a procedure for congressional review of any nuclear agreement with Iran. Congress must now oppose this deal, which would leave Iran as a nuclear threshold state, thereby jeopardizing U.S. interests and posing an existential threat to Israel and other American allies.

Please call or email your Members of Congress today and urge them to oppose this deal.

Contact Senator Chuck Schumer :  Email, click here   322 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, D.C. 20510 Phone: (202) 224-6542 Fax:  (202) 228-3027 TDD:  (202) 224-0420.  He is critical in this process and needs to be convinced that siding with the President is a mistake.

Phone Script for Other Members of Congress
"I am calling to urge the senator/representative to oppose the Iran nuclear deal because it will not block Iran from getting a nuclear weapon."

Talking Points

I have consistently supported diplomatic efforts to peacefully prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. I appreciate the hard work of the administration to reach a deal.

Unfortunately, the proposed deal will let Iran become a threshold nuclear weapons state and will not guarantee international inspectors access to suspicious sites in Iran.

Congress and the president have repeatedly said, "No deal is better than a bad deal." This is a bad deal.

Congress must oppose this agreement, and urge the administration to negotiate a better deal that will truly prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon.

Fwd: Why is The DC Federation Silent on the Iran Deal?

This Is Not The Time For Our Federation to Be Sitting On the Fence on the Iran Deal

Dear Friends,

Why is our D.C Federation silent so far? The DC Federation and JCRC are dithering and equivocating on the Iran nuclear deal, conspicuously avoiding taking a position. They have issued statements saying we need to review the deal closely. They are arranging speakers to talk about the deal. But they have failed to take a position.

Federations in Boston and Miami have opposed the Iran nuclear deal and are calling on their members and Congressional representatives to vote against approval of the deal. The JCRC of New York has publicly expressed grave concerns over the deal and has stated that it will not prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Federations in Phoenix, Los Angeles, South Palm Beach County, Detroit, Dallas, Philadelphia and elsewhere have spoken out to express opposition to the deal. In Israel opposition to the Iran deal crosses political lines, with the Left, the Right and the Israeli public virtually unanimous in their opposition. AIPAC, Simon Wiesenthal Center, World Jewish Congress, Zionist Organization of America, The Israel Project, EMET, CAMERA and most other major pro-Israel groups are publicly expressing disapproval of the Iran nuclear deal. President Obama himself, before the deal was finalized, repeatedly said "No deal is better than a bad deal." Only the most radical groups in Israel and the US (i.e., J Street, Jewish Voice for Peace, Americans for Peace Now, Ameinu, etc) are supporting the deal, and this is just one more instance in a long history of conduct by these groups that undermines Israel.

So, why is our DC Federation silent in the face of this existential threat to Israel? Is this yet another example of a misguided solicitude by the DC Federation to the few extreme voices in the Jewish Community? Is this what happens when those advocating for a "Big Tent" turn a blind eye to Israel's welfare in order to avoid offending those who care the least about Israel's welfare?

Please call and write to Steve Rakitt, CEO of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington <steve.rakitt@shalomdc.org>, and Ron Halber, <rhalber@jcouncil.org>, Executive Director of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC -- a subsidiary of the Federation), urging them to take a public stand against the Iran nuclear deal and to contact our congressional representatives in the DC area to express their opposition.

Now is not the time for fence sitting. The deal explicitly authorizes Iran to continue developing ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) which can quickly be armed with nuclear warheads and used to target Europe and the US. Future generations of American and Israeli children will grow up under the specter of nuclear attack from Iran if this nuclear deal goes through.

Calls and emails from constituents to their Senators and Congressmen are also vital, so please contact your congressional representatives in the DC area to express your opposition to the Iran nuclear deal. The contact web page and telephone numbers for your senators and representatives can be found here:
