Robin,
Must-read article: David French in National Review cites several tweets from a wounded warrior to explain why President Trump's use of a MOAB in Afghanistan is a game-changer, and not just because he used that weapon but because of the way he framed the ordering of future bomb strikes.
This is in line with what former Navy SEAL Carl Higbie told Fox & Friends this morning. He said there were much better munitions we could have used to penetrate and destroy tunnels, but the huge MOAB was chosen to send a message that American leadership is back. Higbie said he got fed up with Obama's handwringing, his lack of fortitude and his rules of engagement that tied soldiers' hands. He noted before Obama, commanders who needed to order a bomb strike simply did it. Under Obama, those decisions were taken away and given to lawyers, academics and bureaucrats who'd never even served. When troops were under fire and need backup, a call had to go up and up a long chain of command, seeking permission from every layer, then the decision had to come all the way back down. By the time the commanders got word on whether they were allowed to bomb the enemy, the battle was over and Americans were dead and wounded.
By dropping that MOAB, Trump didn't just destroy a network of ISIS tunnels, he also blew away one of the most self-defeating aspects of Obama's crippling rules of engagement that sent our own troops into battle with handcuffs on.

And in case you missed these:
David Gregory
By Mike Huckabee
CNN political analyst David Gregory is raising eyebrows among his media peers by praising President Trump for his "sophisticated" actions in dealing with Russia and NATO. He also belatedly slammed Obama for falsely claiming that all of Syria's chemical weapons were gone.
Gregory spent most of the election season as every other liberal media commentator did: praising Obama and disparaging Trump as stupid, uninformed and unqualified. Now, his peers seem surprised and baffled at how he's flipped. Maybe it's not that his viewpoint has changed so much as that Gregory finally reached an intellectual breakthrough they've yet to achieve: he stopped reflexively believing DNC talking points as if they were holy writ and started coping with reality. Now if only the Democrats could just stop believing their own unfounded propaganda, maybe we could finally get to work together on fixing what's broken.
Can't Take Them Seriously
By Mike Huckabee
Senate Democrats are trying to revoke Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner's security clearance over allegedly undisclosed meetings with the Russian ambassador and a Russian banker. They cite a (surprise!) New York Times story, and ominously rumble that knowingly falsifying a federal disclosure form is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Kushner's attorney said the omission was just an error caused by prematurely submitting the form, and he told the FBI the next day that he'd be supplementing it with more information.
I'd take the Democrats' quivering outrage about contacts with Russia a bit more seriously if they hadn't wanted to make someone President whose husband took a $500,000 speaking fee from a Russian banking consortium, whose family foundation took millions from Russian sources, and who signed off as Secretary of State on selling a fifth of our uranium supply to Russia. I have to assume that the very next day after Election Day, they punched Hillary's infamous "Russian reset button" extra-hard.
By the way, judging from the Democrats' own behavior and public stances in recent years, I not only don't believe they're really all that concerned about Russia, I also don't believe they think that any felony violation of federal law should be punishable at all, unless a Republican committed it.
