Fwd: Letter to Rav Porush re:IDF from Shmuel Koenig

Bsd

Dear MK Porush, amvsh

The ideas expressed in Shmuel Koenig's  email below re: the necessity of a Jewish army is one that is consistent with Torah.   A majority of Jews, Chareidi, Dati Leumi, modern Orthodox and secular all agree with Israel's need for an IDF especially when under intense rocket attack.

Why when there have been mass demonstrations against a Chareidi Draft, hundreds of thousands of G-d fearing Jews mobilized,  this distinction of a having a Machanecha Kadosh is not made? At these rallies, the Govt of Israel is slandered by allegations that the army uproots Yiddishkeit with Pritzus etc and that justifies no participation in the army altogether.

Will we throw the baby out with the bathwater?

The massacre of Har Nof could have been greatly reduced without a 7 minute wait till a Druze officer came on the scene.

The Gerrer Chosid from Ashdod was hit no different than other innocent civilians.

Pritzus in the army was not at fault. Amalek on the other hand probably was.

Re:  Sanhedrin.   The time has come to use our Gevura to initiate change in the Israel Judicial System to one that is respectful of Hebraic Law, Torah Shebichtav and Torah Shebaal Peh as per the Resolution of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah in Marienbad in 1937.

The present Israel Supreme Court is corrupt, self perpetuating and hostile to Torah with a leftist progressive agenda.

There is no mitzva in the torah not to have an army.

We need an army.

However, the army has to be "machanecha kadosh"

If we join the army and unite all of klal yisrael, it will bring a bracha on all the people.

When we negotiate with likud, we should not oppose joining the army; however we should demand that it be kadosh.

Members of the moetzet gedolai hatorah Rabbi Aaron Feldman and Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky support this idea.

Please bring it up with  the rabbonim in eretz yisrael.

Also, we should have a sanhedrin.

With best wishes for the geula,
Shmuel Koenig
