This Paratrooper did the right thing. The Media War is the enemies greatest weapon that binds the hands of the IDF. The enemy can't compete militarily. Their greatest weapon is their camera which demonizes the IDF and Israel. This demonization is the first step and justification for denying Israel's right of self defense. MK Smotrich is on target. IDF should have the right to smash every camera that is being used as a lethal weapon in  the Propaganda War against Israel.

A deputy company commander in a paratroopers brigade was charged Thursday with breaking the cameras of an Italian left-wing activist in Hebron.

As part of a plea bargain, the officer will be sent to 22 days in military prison.

According to Army Radio reports , a left-wing activist took part in a Palestinian riot in Hebron and documented it in two cameras while cursing the soldiers.

The paratroopers stopped the activist after disturbing them and led him to their outpost, where the company's deputy commander broke his cameras.

It should be noted that most violent incidents of this type end in disciplinary proceedings. This time, the State Attorney's Office decided to aggravate and indict the officer.

MK Bezalel Somotrich (the Jewish Home) responded harshly: "I simply can not understand the absurdity in which we abandon our soldiers and sacrifice them as a scapegoat, and the military justice system suffers from moral and moral blindness and endangers the security of Israel."

Samotrich intends to submit a bill that will grant immunity to IDF soldiers. "At the beginning of the session, I will submit, with the help of God, a bill that will grant immunity to IDF fighters and a very cautious mechanism for removing it. Our soldiers deserve backing. "

Response of the IDF Spokesperson: " Today, August 30, 2018, an indictment against an officer with the rank of lieutenant was filed with the military court for the offense of causing damage to property while exceeding authority.

According to the indictment, in February 2017, at a military outpost, the officer broke without operational justification, two cameras of a foreign citizen who had previously been arrested by an IDF force for participating in a disturbance. The officer's behavior at the event was contrary to what was expected of IDF commanders and soldiers. "

Military sources added, "The officer is expected to confess in the coming days to the indictment, as part of a plea bargain, according to which he will be sentenced to 22 days in prison and a suspended sentence. The arrangement has not yet been presented to the military court, and it will be brought before it for approval
