Trump's Record Towards Jews and Israel Before He Became President

** by Dan Feinreich@DanFined

After seeing so many Jews say such horrible things about him, I decided to look further into Trump's background to learn more about his feelings toward the Jews. This is what I learned:

Let's start with the biggest influence in Donald Trump's life, his father. Fred C. Trump welcomed plenty of Jewish tenants to his properties, and, perhaps, as a result of these relationships, Fred became a generous donor to Jewish and Israeli causes.

Fred made generous donations to the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, supported Israel bonds, and served as the treasurer of an Israeli benefit concert. He was so active in Jewish causes that some believed that he belonged to the Jewish faith.

In 1956, Fred Trump also donated land to the Talmud Torah of the Beach Haven Jewish Center in Flatbush, New York. The Center is still active today and offers programs for the youth and elderly, as well as an active synagogue. A plaque in the Beach Haven building reads: "Fred C. Trump, Humanitarian: A Sagacious Man Person Deserving of Every Plaudit and Tribute given by Our Community"

During the 1980's, Fred Trump became friends with the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations in Manhattan at the time, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Donald Trump continued his father's pattern of donating to Jewish & Israeli causes. In 1976, Trump received the Humanitarian Awardfrom Jewish National Health, a Denver hospital doing research/treatment in respiratory & related disorders.

In March 1983, Trump was awarded the prestigious "Tree of Life" award by the Jewish National Fund (JNF), an organization that raises money to finance large projects in Israel. The award is the highest humanitarian award that honors individuals and families "in appreciation of their outstanding community involvement, dedication to the cause of American-Israeli friendship, and devotion to peace and the security of human life."

JNF officials said that Trump was part of a consortium of donorsinvolved in various projects in Israel, including financing a playground in the town of Yokneam and another in Sufa, a kibbutz in southern Israel.

Trump also donated to help build new infrastructure in the Israeli Negev for Jews from the Sinai that were forced to evacuate under the terms of Israel's peace treaty with Egypt in 1979.

Trump's donations were used to build greenhouses, homes, and roads for evacuees. A plaque bearing Trump's name in English and Hebrew appears on a wall in Moshav Dekel, in the Eshkol region, to honor all the donors that contributed to the resettlement.

In 2003, Trump was part of a group of New York donors who gave to JNF to finance the construction of a reservoir in the western Negev. In 2005, Trump also contributed toward the creation of new communities for Israeliswere evacuated from the Gaza Strip.

According to former JNF chairman Effie Stenzler, the Israeli govt requested assistance from Jewish organizations, like JNF, to help pay the costs of resettlement. JNF "sought donations in the U.S. and one of them was Trump, who is considered to be an avowed supporter of Israel," Stenzler said.

According to TheGivingTrump.com,in 1985, Trump was Chairman of JNF's Annual Real Estate Divisions Dinner Dance where over $700K was raised, the largest fundraising affair ever for any JNF event.

July 4, 1984 Trump Attended the 1984 American Friends of Hebrew University Annual Sports Award Fundraising Dinner to Memorialize the 11 Murdered Israeli Athletes During the 1972 Munich Olympics.

In the 1990's, Trump tried to convert his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Palm Beach, FL into a country club, but the town council placed restrictions on his club. He filed a lawsuit claiming the council was discriminating against his club, partly because his club was open to Jews and blacks, while other established clubs excluded Jews and blacks. "The episode shook the Palm Beach establishment, unaccustomed to having its linen, dirty or not, aired publicly." Trump had "elevated the issue of discriminatory policies at social clubs."

Abe Foxman of the ADL, said Trump "put the light on Palm Beach. Not on the beauty & glitter, but on its seamier side of discrimination. It had an impact." He said he received calls from Jewish residents telling how Palm Beach clubs were changing & began to admit Jewish members.

In 2000, "Trump was recognized by UJA Federationof New York's Hospitality Division for being an industry leader. He received the Hotel & Real Estate Visionary of the Century Award. He gave the org a $25,000 donation in 2012 and another $15,000 in 2014."

In addition, "Trump gave a $10,000 donation to the Museum of Jewish Heritage in 2003, according to spokeswoman Lisa Safir, and a gift in 2012 for general operating expenses amounting to $100,000, an amount which puts Trump's name on the museum's wall of contributors."

He has also been a regular contributor to Friends of Israel Defense Forces, according to a spokesman. Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is a member of that organization's national board.

A spokesman for the ADL said Trump had donated a total of $56,000 to the ADL since the 1970's.

"In 2014, Trump donated $3,750 to the Institute for Jewish Humanities; $5,000 to the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY; $2,500 to the Gurwin Jewish Geriatric Center; and $18,000 to the American Friends of the Jaffa Institute, a nonprofit child welfare agency in Israel."

In 2003, Trump donated $10,000 to American Friends of Beit ElInstitutions, a fund for religious institutions in the Jewish community of Beit El in Samaria. Trump made the donation in honor of his lawyer, David Friedman, who served as its President.

In 2004, Trump was chosen to be the grand marshal of the Salute to Israel Parade, which was the largest single gathering in support of Israel, with an estimated 1 million spectators, 40 floats, 16 marching bands and dozens of entertainers.

In 2006, Trump announced plans to build "Trump Tower Israel" in Ramat Gan, a city on the outskirts of Tel Aviv. The tower, the tallest in Israel when completed, was supposed to be a 70 story luxury apartment building.
Trump also had plans to build the first Trump luxury hotel in Netanya. In 2008, Trump sent his daughter, Ivanka, to Israel to study the local real estate market. In 2013, Trump announced plans to build Israel's first Trump golf course in Ashkelon, which would have included a resort village, convention hall, country club, and commercial shops.

The Israeli govt released a file in 2017, called the "Trump file," which detailed Trump's visit to Israel in 1989. Trump was interested in visiting Israel because he was considering several business deals.

Although all these attempts to bring the Trump brand name to Israel fell through, for various reasons,Ivankawas quoted in 2016 as saying, "we will definitely continue looking into luxury residence and hotels in Israel in the future."

In 2013, Trump appeared in a video from his Manhattan office endorsing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "My name is Donald Trump and I'm a big fan of Israel." "Frankly, a strong prime minister is a strong Israel."

In 2014, Trump pledged to donate more than $100,000 to the Israeli emergency rescue service, United Hatzalah, for the purchase of four ambulances that each cost $26,000, according to the Algemeiner Journal, a Jewish newspaper based in New York.

In 2015, Trump received the Liberty Award from The Algemeinerfor his contributions to U.S.-Israel relations. Trump accepted the award at "The Algemeiner's 'Jewish 100' Gala" in NYC and was introduced by his daughter Ivanka.

At that event, Trump said "I have a Jewish daughter. This wasn't in the plan, but I'm very glad it happened." He also added, "We love Israel. We will fight for Israel 100 percent, 1000 percent. It will be there forever."

In late 2016, Ivanka visited a Florida synagogue & spoke to the audience about her father's reaction to her conversion to Judaism in 2009. "There was no question, there was no argument," she said, adding that her father supported her "from day one." www.algemeiner.com/2016/10/28/

So this was a summary of Donald Trump's involvement with the Jewish community and with Israel before he became President. His record of friendship, generosity and affection for the Jewish community in the US and in Israel is stunning and extraordinary.

Yet, how has the American Jewish community responded to him? Rather than express gratitude and appreciation for all Trump has done on behalf of Jewish causes, the reaction of American Jews toward Trump was, and continues to be vile, vicious, virulent, venomous and vitriolic.

The response from American Jews was to cherry pick isolated quotes, look for "dog whistles" in campaign ads and interpret them all in the worst possible way, while completely ignoring all his other statements/actions where he expressed tremendous support for the Jewish people.

If this is how US Jews respond to someone who has done so much for Jewish causes, no future President will have any incentive to do the same. More than 75% of Israeli Jews consider Trump a great friend and perhaps the best friend Jews have ever had as President. Are they wrong?

After reviewing the history of Trump's relationship with the Jewish community, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that the main reason Trump has been the most pro-Jewish, pro-Israel President in US history is precisely because…that's who he is.

The Re-branding of Donald Trump

Throughout the Republican primary season this past year, Donald Trump enjoyed near rock star status after being left largely alone by the mainstream media.  Their coordinated goal was to tolerate the positive media attention given to Trump so that he could succeed in winning the Republican Party nomination.  According to this logic, Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio would have been much more formidable candidates for Clinton to overcome, so let Trump win.  Endless stories branded Trump as the voice of the angry silent majority tired of big government and political correctness and, most of all, tired of Obama and the Democratic Party.

All this ended abruptly the day Trump clinched the Republican nomination. It's as if the dams burst, filling the airwaves, newspapers, blogs, websites, social media, and news shows on all the TV stations (controlled by the Democrat-oriented media) with vile, irrational hatred of Donald Trump the candidate.  All you could hear was a systematic process of demonization, an unabashed, uncalled for fanning of flames of hatred for Trump.

What had Donald Trump done that can explain this lynch mob mentality?  What was it that ushered in this wild, impassioned "kill the beast" atmosphere?  How can one explain or even comprehend that politicians and citizens who normally exhibit sensitivity and civility in the public discourse becoming so brazen in stating lies, baseless accusations, and general nastiness as they bare their teeth in a frenzy of violent self-righteousness?

So begins the re-branding of Donald Trump, with the mainstream media running an intense, coordinated media campaign turning the huge tide of public support Trump had garnered against him and depriving him of the unbiased media exposure he needs to convince the American people to vote for Trump on Election Day.

Trump has been transformed into the naysayer.  The heretic.  Roaming the countryside much like Johnny Appleseed, from town to town, and from state to state, going against the grain by repeating fearlessly that Obama and the Democratic Party are running America into the ground.  Trump explained, for those willing to listen and to packed audiences, his tremendously popular messages of law and order, immigration enforcement, border security, and pro-growth economic policies.  Trump repeated again and again that the threat of Islamic terror is real.  Despite Obama's efforts to deny and refuse to confront Islamic terror; Fort Hood, San Bernardino, Orlando, and Dallas have all proven that Trump is right and that the Democratic Party, led by Hillary Clinton, is sweeping under the rug what every American knows is true about the clear and present danger Islamic terror is for Americans.

In the meantime – as crowds pour into Trump rallies throughout the country, waiting in long lines for a chance to be part of the "shake-up" Americans are hoping and praying for, to hear and cheer for Trump.  Hillary Clinton is forced to make a rare appearance before unquestioning Hispanic and black news reporters who at the end of the staged press conference give her an unprofessional round of applause.  It was at this event that she claimed that she had "short-circuited" in response to the FBI report that questioned the truthfulness of her claims.  Clinton will continue to keep herself at a safe distance and appear before small, sympathetic audiences and interviewers, while Donald Trump will continue to hold rallies with tens of thousands who want the wall, who want illegal immigration stopped, who want to keep hostile Muslims far from America, and who want America to be great again.

So as the press manufactures one phony article after another re-branding Donald Trump as an unelectable candidate, it is essential that we be aware that what we are observing is the collapse of the old media and the rise of the new social media.  Donald Trump has harnessed social media to spread his agenda and policies.  Trump is attacked by the old media for his Twitter observations, yet by the time the old media attacks him, Trump has moved on to tweet another thought-provoking response for the public to ponder and to which the old media must respond.  In so doing, Trump has kept the old and democratically controlled media off balance, focusing on him and his message.  Donald Trump tweets away effortlessly, making the lies and the rebranding efforts of the old media meaningless.

In so doing, not only has Trump become the news, but he creates a focus on Trump the candidate.  Donald Trump dominates social media, reaching out directly to the American public avoiding the minefields of the biased and largely unsupportive old media, leaving them in the dust.  As a result, the old media is perceived as a Democratic-slanted propaganda machine unable to free itself from the shackles of political correctness and presenting viewpoints that are the antithesis of what Americans actually believe in.  This past year, major media events culminating in reports on Ferguson, Black Lives Matter, Dallas, and San Francisco have all contributed to mainstream media losing the trust and truthfulness associated with them in the past.  They, the mainstream old media outlets, are even willing to sacrifice their "Temple of Truth" because they are acutely aware that if Trump can somehow penetrate the massive Democratic-inspired propaganda erected against his campaign, the election is over, and Donald Trump will be president.

The good news is that on Election Day, the American people have to leave their homes and get in line to vote.  In most elections, it's hard to get even 50% to turn out to vote.  And therein lies the Trump advantage in November – who is going to have the most motivated, most inspired voters show up to vote?  You know the answer to this question.  Who's the candidate with the most committed supporters?  Whose election-day activists are going to be up at 5 AM on Election Day, volunteering all day long, all the way until the last polling place has closed, making sure every Tom, Dick, and Harry and Shirley has cast his or her ballot?  That's right.  That's why the rebranding of Donald Trump will fail, and he will go on and win the election on November 8.

A Year of Russian Collusion

Posted: 29 Jan 2018 12:44 AM PST

September 2009.

Obama hadn't even been in office for a whole year when he gave in to Moscow's biggest demand by dropping the missile defense shield for Poland and the Czech Republic. During his campaign, he had enthusiastically backed the defensive program, declaring, "We have to send a clear signal that Poland and other countries in that region are not going to be subject to intimidation and aggression."

Like all of his campaign promises that were based on political triangulation, law enforcement, counterterrorism, Jerusalem and gay marriage, it was a campaign lie to be thrown out after the election.

Putin praised Obama's sellout of our allies as a "brave decision." In his first year, President Trump touted the sale of Patriot missiles to Poland. That was a truly brave decision.

After the Russian invasion, Obama refused to provide Ukraine with military assistance. While he had handed out weapons to Islamist terrorists in Syria and Libya, the Ukrainians were only offered MREs. The same administration that covertly shipped a fortune in foreign currency on unmarked cargo planes to Russia's Iranian allies took months to meet Ukrainian requests for boots and spare tires.

The Trump administrated unapologetically approved the sale of sniper rifles to the Ukrainians.

"I'm aware of not only the extraordinary work that you've done on behalf of the Russian people," Obama had gushed during his meeting with Putin. There were no protests from the same media that has since then repeatedly suggested that Trump's praise for Putin indicated a soft spot for dictators.

Looking back at Obama's first year and Trump's first year, it's easy to assess who was giving Moscow more. It wasn't just missile defense. In the spring of '09, Hillary was in Moscow toting a misspelled Reset Button swiped from a swimming pool. But it was Obama who had first urged a "reset or reboot". That was the month he sent a secret hand-delivered letter to Russia offering to kill the missile shield. The Russians turned down his proposed deal, but he went through with the appeasement anyway.

Trashing missile defense was just one step in a larger effort to revive Jimmy Carter's defense policies. In his first year, Obama began the push to ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty. CTBT would have allowed the Russians (and everyone else) to build up their nuclear arsenals while crippling our own. The new START treaty was drafted in '09 and signed next year. And Russian violations of it were ignored.

It took a new administration to change that.

In his first phone call with Putin, President Trump blasted the START treaty as a bad deal that gave Moscow a free ride. Next month, the Pentagon officially came out and said what everyone knew.

This was a sharp contrast with the previous administration which had refused to detail Russian violations. It falsely claimed that it couldn't answer the question because "the New START treaty forbids releasing to the public data and information obtained during implementation of the treaty."

Before the Iran deal, the Russia deal had been Obama's legacy. And the same lies, echo chambers and spin that would be used to cover up Iranian violations were being deployed to mask Russian violations.

The Russians couldn't have been too surprised at Trump holding their feet to the fire. Trump had blasted the START treaty during the third presidential debate while Hillary Clinton had rambled on about cyberattacks. The Russians would have been far more concerned about nukes than keyboards.

That was the same debate where Hillary Clinton had accused Trump of being Putin's "puppet".

But if that's true, where are the concessions and the appeasement? Every tangible foreign policy issue that the commentariat at conspiratorial lefty media outlets like the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and ThinkProgress had seized on as evidence of Trump's collusion has come up short.

Remember when Trump was secretly conspiring to lift sanctions for Exxon-Mobil's Russian drilling project?

"Could Massive Russian Oil Deal with Exxon Explain Why Putin Appears to Have Meddled in US Election?", Democracy Now shrieked. "Trump-Putin Bromance: Election Hacking, Oil Drilling," the Huffington Post caterwauled.

ThinkProgress made them seem restrained. "Trump, Putin, and ExxonMobil team up to destroy the planet."

"Pick of Exxon CEO for Secretary of State clarifies why Putin wanted Trump elected: a $500 billion oil deal killed by sanctions," the sub yammered. Trump, Putin and oil represented "the gravest threat to humanity (and democracy) since the rise of the Axis powers".

Just one problem. Trump refused to let the deal happen. So much for that conspiracy theory.

Seizing on the potential Exxon deal was an act of desperation. The left was quick to juggle Russia collusion theories, but had trouble coming up with anything that Russia actually got from Trump.

Not only wasn't there anything like Obama's Year One windfall of appeasement, but Moscow was getting nothing but trouble. The new National Defense Strategy lists Russia as a major threat. It's a return to the Republican view of Russia as a geopolitical threat that Obama had mocked Romney for.

The Washington Post, which boasts a new Russia-Trump conspiracy theory every five hours, responded by claiming that Trump's policy of confronting Russia is exactly what Vladimir Putin wants. "Trump's strategy pushes confrontation with Russia, and Moscow is pleased," a Post op-ed declared.

What better evidence could there be that Trump is Putin's puppet than that he's standing up to him?

The new Russia conspiracy meme borrows the old Obama spin on Iran and ISIS which accused critics of "playing into their hands" by trying to fight them, instead of appeasing them. It was classic Orwellian spin. "Weakness is strength", "lies are truth" and "opposition is collusion". But it said something about the weakness of the collusion reality that the Post was forced to rely on such weak Rhodes-ian spin.

What had Trump done for Russia? Well he stood up to it. And that's exactly what Putin wants.

The media's case for collusion comes down to the hacking of Democrat emails. But while having Podesta's missives exposed to daylight was clearly a traumatic event for the Dems, it's not exactly up there with letting the Russians have a free hand in Europe. Or letting its Iranian allies go nuclear.

The media has blasted us with headlines about the meeting between Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer about the Magnitsky Act. But a year later, the Magnitsky Act is doing just fine. There's been no review. Obama had singlehandedly dismantled the Cuban embargo. If Trump had really wanted to, the sanctions on Russia would be a memory. But instead the sanctions keep on coming.

The media made much of Trump's signing statement to CAATSA criticizing its intrusion on his authority. Obama had repeatedly made similar objections, though using very different rhetoric, in signing statements to previous bills. When the administration missed the October 1 sanctions deadline, the media again rolled out the conspiracy theories. "The Trump administration is delaying Russia sanctions that Congress demanded," Vox bleated. The sanctions were sent in the very next day.

The media has come to specialize in spinning conspiracy theories out of process. It's safer to focus on the trees, because then they don't have to notice that there's no forest. But it's a sign of just how little it has to work with when it comes to real life policy as opposed to the conspiracy theories of its bubble.

"What did Putin want from Trump and what did he actually get?" a Newsweek article inquires. It's forced to conclude that the answer is nothing. Russia received a whole lot from Obama in his first year. Trump has dealt it a series of setbacks instead. Newsweek concludes that Putin helped elect Trump, but got nothing in return. That would make Putin rather stupid. And no one has yet accused him of that.

But that's what the current collusion conspiracy theories of the left have irrationally been reduced to. Putin helped elect Trump. And got nothing from Trump for it. Now it's time to impeach Trump anyway.

Backing Trump never made any sense. Republicans have traditionally been more hostile to Russia. And Trump's entire pitch was nationalism. Nationalist leaders in small countries might collaborate with Putin, but the nationalist leader of the United States could only end up on a collision course with Russia.

Obama's first year was a golden period for Russia because he didn't believe in national interests. Trump does. The left inevitably accuses the right of its own sins. Trump didn't collude with Russia. Obama did.

Donald Trump and the Jewish Media

bs"d

update: March 9, 2016
In opposition of Donald Trump:
In support of Donald Trump in the News:
-----
Frankly I am turned off by the Republican candidates bashing each other in order to win the election.  I watched the early debates but then stopped when I saw that instead of focusing on Iran and Isis, the economy etc. they were destroying each other. It was a turn off.

But when Moshe Feiglin blasted Donald Trump in an Arutz7 article
and then not long after I read in American Thinker  about Donald Trump having a narcissistic personality disorder more dangerous than Obama
I decided to go back to watching the debates to see whether there was something that I had missed.

In my gut I believed and still believe that the essence of Donald Trump is on the side of good.  Calling someone dangerous and even worse, a Narcissistic Personality Disorder psychopath is character assassination.  I feel that Donald Trump sees the Forest from the Trees. He sees the big picture and doesn't get caught up in the details. He is not afraid to switch course when his knowledge expands to include information he didn't have previously.  He calls this flexibility.  His goals are to better society. Sometimes money, greed and power get in the way. He needs to be surrounded by honest advisers to keep him on track. .

Yes there are/were negative character traits in Trump that I personally found offensive.  Like when he bashes those who publicly criticize him.  He lashes back with such gusto and even at times vengeance that it's hard not to be blown away. Sure it keeps the opposition in its place. One learns not to start up with Donald Trump or else risk being fired if Donald Trump gets his way.  It is not fun to oppose Donald Trump. He digs it in and even turns the knife when he is attacked even when he is in the lead making someone feel very small especially when they are the underdog. This way he makes sure that they stay there. He has coarse (prust in Yiddish) and popular appeal which comes from man's basic human drives. He will lower the bar of a debate to a new low while at the same time make us laugh as we are reminded of our commonality and that we all are made of the same stuff, flesh and blood with basic human drives and urges...  just in case someone thinks that they are above that.  He has been a businessman that will buy off politicians if he can get away with it if it helps his business not addressing the greater common good.   He promises things that people would like to hear, things that are popular yet when it's all said and done, he delivers far less.  Yet in his mind he has gotten the best deal.

One thing Donald should learn is that people take the side of the underdog and bashing them too much is also counterproductive. This time he is the underdog, or at least it seemed to me reading these posts,  and it worked in his favor.

I decided to watch the latest Republican debate and see for myself if the claim that he has a dangerous character personality holds water.

Before I actually watched the debate this is basically the letter I wrote Moshe Feiglin:

Dear Moshe Feiglin, amv"sh

I generally have tremendous respect for your policies.  I admire your stand to annex Judea and Samaria.  You have been forthcoming in protesting immoral administrative detention for hilltop youth.  You encourage Jewish Identity and the people involved in Zehut,  as they were when you were Manhigut Yehudit, are passionate for Israel, love the Torah and love the Jewish people.  However, in all due respect, my gut feeling,  is that you are off about Trump.  All that you may dislike about him may be accurate but it seems to me that there is a deficiency in your analysis.

Trump's inner soul is what you need to tap into. I see this as a failure on your part to be able to discern between unadulterated evil coming from a deeper source and simply negative character traits.

Sometimes it is very hard to discern evil. I don't claim to be able on the level to judge accurately as only G-d can be Bochen Balev, know exactly what is in Man's heart.

I believe that Donald Trumps heart is in the right place.  I admire that he is not afraid to talk about decapitation of heads and why waterboarding is not such a big deal for these animals.  All the other candidates shy away from some graphic details and seem to be afraid to acknowledge the evil out there that can't be addressed by western standards and values. Ted Cruz for example is still talking as if we are fighting a civilized society. These are subhumans and one needs only to watch some Yezidi documentaries to see what we are dealing with.  These barbarians need to be afraid of the President of the United States and Donald Trump gets it. They need to understand that we will deal with ruthless behavior in kind.

My father ob"m survived WWII even though his first wife and his daughter did not, and found himself at the very end of the War together with some comrades in charge of captured Nazis officers.   They were given the liberty to deal with them as they wished.  I don't know exactly what they did but my impression was that somehow Justice was served.

It seems to me that Donald Trump and Mike Huckabee have mutual respect for each other.  Mike does not share Trump's coarseness nor Trump's drive for material wealth nor Trump's bad bedside manner when one disagrees or gets on his bad side.

He also does not share Trump's popular support.
It seems to me that such  character traits, when channeled properly are precisely the traits necessary to fight evil as long as a clear vision is there.  In Judaism we learn that we can not designate one's nature as purely good or evil.  It is G-d's will as per His commandments and the context of the situation that defines whether it is good or evil.  So killing is bad almost all the time, yet wiping out Amalek, the symbol for unadulterated evil, and killing every man, woman and child from Amalek is a Mitzva we are required to remember and never forget. Being merciful to the cruel is being cruel to the merciful we have learned.  Jews especially have a  very difficult time with this commandment since by Nature we are a compassionate people.  Jews must fight their nature to keep this commandment.

Mike Huckabee a minister, has a theological vision I trust that can fight an ideological war with Isis and Iran.
By bashing Trump or for that matter any of the Republican candidates, we weaken our fight against evil! We sometimes destroy the very medicine that can save us.

It is possible that with proper vision, maybe with Mike Huckabee on his team to provide a theological vision as well as to serve as a character role model being that Mike Huckabee is greatly admired and receives high marks for his sterling character traits, Donald Trump will reach great heights.   Trump can channel all his character traits into fighting Isis and Iran and the immigration crisis not to mention Obamacare and fighting the terrible deficit in the budget.  It's however a total waste channeling it on Rubio or Cruz who are basically good guys who have been serving the United States honorably and have an excellent track record regarding Israel.  If all work together we can succeed to overcome all obstacles,  Obama and Hillary and Sanders, Iran and Isis etc.

Donald Trump has been there and done that.  He has accumulated vast sums of money. One would hope that it is harder to buy him off since it takes one to know one.  He will see through those who try to buy him off,  or at least have advisers who see through the payoffs and bribes for personal gain.  His goals now are hopefully the betterment of society rather than just personal accumulation of wealth.  He has an insider story of which legislation would encourage less dependency on foreign markets at the expense of American workforce and how to grow the local economy so that jobs stay here in America.

Cruz, Rubio and Kasish each have their strengths and weaknesses.  Let the Candidates work together as a team....The one who can bring out the strengths of those on his team is the greatest leader.

So I am not very happy that the Republican candidates are bashing each other right now.  Trump is not innocent in this regard.  But Rubio especially and Cruz as well are ganging up on him and picking fights knowing how he responds. They should unite to fight evil and end character assassination of each other.

Moshe Feiglin,  I feel that your anti Trump post, only serves to weaken  Israels position to fight the evils of Isis and Iran!

Fighting negative character traits is important but for now must not take center stage. Fighting radical Islam,  Isis and Iran must be our priority!

Sincerely,
Robin Ticker

After the watching the Debate my opinion of this letter did not change.  Trump does not strike me as dangerous to Israel.  He denounced David Dukes on multiple occasions

He called Isis animals. He supported the 2nd amendment and came out against assault weapons being banned even though initially years ago he was for it.  He accurately described the scenario where tens of people were shot before the terrorist was neutralized and this could have been prevented had they been neutralized sooner with proper weapons.

His children seem like decent kids one of whom converted to Judaism and married an Orthodox Jew, a strong supporter of Israel.

I too am flexible and if his actions prove me wrong, I will have no problem reevaluating.  But so far I don't see an issue worth worrying about.
As for Sam Vaknin's depiction of Donald Trump as a psychopath, it seems pretty clear that he is totally off.  Surely his statement
"I regard him as much more of a menace than Obama ever was to the future of the USA and, by extension, the world. I am shocked that -- despite an increasing awareness of the dangers of narcissism in the media and in the public -- Trump is still making any headway in this election cycle"

is nothing less than character assassination.

Has Trump empowered the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran as does Obama?   Does he surround himself with advisers who are supporters of Islam? The evils of Islam includes pedophilia, Sharia Law and those who pride themselves on following the example of Mohammad the "Prophet" who deals with infidels by decapitating the men and taking the women as sex slaves.   By calling Donald Trump more of a menace than Obama, he has lost credibility. Trump has no history of empowering evil regimes that defies basic universal morality.

Money, greed, power are all negative character traits that destroy a person and peoples.  Yet these are personality failings.  If the mission is to wipe out G-d's name and G-d's truth and G-d's Word, it is unadulterated evil and must be addressed as such.
Sincerely,

Robin Ticker

Excellent article and to the point. Obviously none of the alphabet soup news channels will give Trump any credit for anything, as they all have a vested interest in seeing him fail. And I doubt that many working for these news organizations have thought through the points made in the article, rather preferring to pick out the surface negatives in Trump's meeting with Xi to gain points with their Democrat base.
I have not listened to how FOX reported this but I am sure that the astute Dr. Krauthammer would have recognized what was being achieved, per the article.

It appears he is, especially in negotiations and deal making, now converted to Geo-Political activities. The article below is an indication of the tricks of a wile old fox. Beats leading from behind, a strategy that assures weakness and being left behind. Can you say irrelevant? I like it better this way.

Maybe it's because the complexity is difficult to distill; maybe it's because some just can't give President Trump any credit; or maybe it's because the scope is too challenging to comprehend against the constant belittlement meme du jour; regardless of reason, President Trump is fundamentally realigning international geo-political alliances and almost no-one is connecting the dots.
President Trump obviously held a long-ball strategy with the Chinese; he's described the approach in his books and lived the approach in his business life:
At the outset, position yourself at the furthest oppositional point when it costs you nothing; then leverage inward toward your opponent as they expend their resources to meet your stance.
Almost no-one is noting the scope of what President Trump has accomplished simply by positioning himself at the furthest extreme from the best interests of China, and then working his leverage back toward dual-interests as the Chinese expend capital to meet the point of mutual benefit.
President Trump has expended nothing other than his sheer will, and yet he has leveraged gains that are jaw-droppingly consequential.
What's the goal of identifying China as a currency manipulator?  To stop China from manipulating currency, right?  Well, arm-chair opposition says President Trump has reversed his position simply by 'not doing something'.   However, that opposition doesn't seem to acknowledge the end-goal of the labeling has been achieved without expending an effort.   The doing is unnecessary when merely the threat of the doing changes the behavior of the doer.
In two days, April 6th and April 7th, President Trump met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.  What actions has President Trump taken, other than 'not' doing something, and what actions has President Xi Jinping taken?

At the outset, position yourself at the furthest oppositional point when it costs you nothing, and leverage inward toward your opponent as they expend their resources to meet your stance.
Think about this when considering the consequences:
China agrees to the framework of a 100 day outline to assemble the trade way-points for renegotiated bi-lateral trade deals.
What did that action cost Trump?
For the first time ever, China did not support Russia in a U.N. Security Council veto vote surrounding Syria.   China abstained.
What did that action cost Trump?
China turned around 12 fully loaded cargo ships laden with imported coal from North Korea.  400,000 metric tonnes refused unloading.   China begins an embargo against North Korean coal.  China begins importing coking coal for steel-making from the U.S. coal mines.
What did that action cost Trump?
Additionally, in furtherance of economic sanctions – China halts oil exports to North Korea.
What did that action cost Trump?
Additionally, in furtherance of political isolation – China halts direct flights between Beijing, China and Pyongyang, North Korea.
What did that action cost Trump?
And in the most stunning seismic shift of geo-political alliances, China says it is now open to discussions of a denuclearized North Korea, meaning getting rid of N-Korean nukes, WITHOUT N-Korea being included in the talks. Hello?  China, the United States, Japan, Russia and South Korea discussing how to de-nuke North Korea.  (A new Marshal Plan of sorts)
What did that action cost Trump?
See how this works?  What affirmative action did President Trump have to take in order to get China to move toward the position of mutual benefit?
Answer: None!
Foolish people think President Trump doesn't know what he's doing.  Again:
…Position yourself at the furthest oppositional point when it costs you nothing, and leverage inward toward your opponent as they expend their resources to meet the position of mutual benefit…
To gain all of the aforementioned action, massive benefits in U.S. interests, President Trump has done what?
"Not" labeling China as a currency manipulator is not affirmative action.  It is actually the absence of action; POTUS Trump is not doing something.  President Trump positioned himself at the furthest oppositional point during the election, and immediately thereafter.
He staked out this position with an intention to leverage action toward his needs.
The affirmative action President Trump is doing, very publicly, is complimenting the friendship he has begun with Xi Jinping; and praising President Xi for his character, warmth and leadership.
To build upon that mutually beneficial friendship – President Trump seeded the background by appointing Ambassador Terry Branstad, a 30-year personal friend of President Xi Jinping.
To enhance and amplify the friendship and personal respect – U.S. President Trump used Mar-a-Lago as the venue for their visit, not the White House.  And President Trump's beautiful granddaughter, Arabella, sweetly serenaded the Chinese First Family in Mandarin Chinese song showing the utmost respect for the honored guests.
Unfortunately most people are unfamiliar with the severity of Chinese tradition as it relates to family and respect.  However, these gestures are intensely well received.  Russia's Vladimir Putin can deliver nothing even remotely comparable to the charm of the granddaughter of the U.S. President singing for President Xi and his wife in their native tongue.
Do not underestimate the value of these gestures and how it was perceived by the recipients as personal respect – far above the level of traditional political respect which would be customary during such encounters.   President Trump made this visit personal, and his words after the meeting were all personal, not positional.
Whether or not people want to give President Trump credit for the approach, no-one should be able to challenge the outcomes all listed above.
Grandfather President Trump has highlighted Grandfather President Xi as a person, not a political figure.  Trump sets the relationship as personal, and with mutual human benefit.
One thing is certain, North Korea will NOT make any hostile action toward the U.S. because President Trump has elevated President Xi to a role beyond politics in the words highlighted within Chinese media.  The panda fur has not only been stroked perfectly, it has been elevated in its own magnanimity without even so much as a bow.
As a consequence it would now be a matter of personal disrespect for North Korea's Kim Jung-un to take hostile action toward the U.S. President who has exhibited such personal respect to the regional Goliath.
Three things appear odd:  #1) How no-one amid almost all media can see how effective this approach by President Trump has been; and #2) Nothing has been expended in order to achieve these remarkable results; and #3) Accepting all of the above, Donald Trump has planned this out for a long, long time.
