Pikuach Nefesh (Savings one's life) Who can endure administrative detention which translates to charges, prosecution, imprisonment, interrogation without due process , slander and torture for a crime one does not commit?

We can therefore safely assume that this is a matter of Pikuach Nefesh and the Duma suspects' lives, physical and emotional health, are in a precarious state along with all the other Settler Youth who are suffering Post Trauma Stress Disorder following unfair, unjustified, criminal treatment...)

Pidyon Shvuyim -- Pidyon Shvuyim (Hebrew: פִּדְיוֹן שְׁבוּיִים‎, literally: Redemption of Captives) is a religious duty in Judaism to bring about the release of a fellow Jew imprisoned unjustly by the authorities. Just because the majority of the media and political figures and even Rabbanim have condemned hilltop youth for Price Tag vandalism, arson and the murder of innocent Arabs we may not pervert justice and must conduct a fair investigation as to precisely what exactly happened and not rely on forced confessions..

3 Neither shall you glorify a poor man in his lawsuit.   

ג וְדָל לֹא תֶהְדַּר בְּרִיבוֹ: It must be a fair investigation

(As does the Torah, I am now embedding in our discussion about pursuing justice the Pesukim regarding helping with your enemy's donkey. There is much we can learn from this juxtaposition. Many Rabbanim hold that Meir Ettinger and the Hilltop youth reject and threaten Rabbinic authority when they promote going up to Har HaBayit etc. and in this respect consider them their enemy. Yet the Torah says that when our enemy is down we come to his aid.  What a tremendous Kiddush Hashem it would be if Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah and the Aguda would demand a fair and open investigation of the hilltop youth! 4 If you come upon your enemy's bull or his stray donkey, you shall surely return it to him.   

ד כִּי תִפְגַּע שׁוֹר אֹיִבְךָ אוֹ חֲמֹרוֹ תֹּעֶה הָשֵׁב תְּשִׁיבֶנּוּ לוֹ: Please restore the good name  of these boys who have been slandered as Jewish Terrorists in a blood libel against them.

5 If you see your enemy's donkey lying under its burden would you refrain from helping him? You shall surely help along with him.

They have been outcasts either by choice or by force, many of them never recovered from the severe trauma and betrayal they experienced from the expulsion from Gush Katif and Amona or of a similar nature. The Jewish people owe them an apology rather than to compound the trauma)

7 Distance yourself from a false matter; and do not kill a truly innocent person or one who has been declared innocent, for I will not vindicate a guilty person.   ז מִדְּבַר שֶׁקֶר תִּרְחָק וְנָקִי וְצַדִּיק אַל תַּהֲרֹג כִּי לֹא אַצְדִּיק רָשָׁע: The hilltop youth claim that the allegations against them are false and fabricated and they deny the allegations… that is until they were tortured. One just turned 18 Jewish boy, a Duma suspect, who happens to be an American citizen, showed the scars of an attempted suicide following being tortured..

8 You shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe will blind the clear sighted and corrupt words that are right.   ח וְשֹׁחַד לֹא תִקָּח כִּי הַשֹּׁחַד יְעַוֵּר פִּקְחִים וִיסַלֵּף דִּבְרֵי צַדִּיקִים: Does government funding for Political entities and Yeshivoth come into the picture that distorts clarity of what really happened in Duma and their quick condemnations of hilltop youth?

Vayikra Perek 19 Pesukim 15-18

15 You shall commit no injustice in judgment; you shall not favor a poor person or respect a great man; you shall judge your fellow with righteousness.   טו לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ עָוֶל בַּמִּשְׁפָּט לֹא תִשָּׂא פְנֵי דָל וְלֹא תֶהְדַּר פְּנֵי גָדוֹל בְּצֶדֶק תִּשְׁפֹּט עֲמִיתֶךָ: The truth must be investigated and the words of influential politicians or even influential Rabbinic or governmental leaders should not be taken more seriously than the words of the poor and vulnerable.  

16 You shall not go around as a gossipmonger amidst your people. You shall not stand by [the shedding of] your fellow's blood. I am the Lord.

  טז לֹא תֵלֵךְ רָכִיל בְּעַמֶּיךָ לֹא תַעֲמֹד עַל דַּם רֵעֶךָ אֲנִי יְהוָֹה: The slander regarding the Duma case clearly reminds us of this Pasuk where almost everyone was quick to condemn them thereby engaging in character assassination and a blood libel.. These condemnations were public, are on the record, in the news and have been dutifully noted and documented and can easily be found on the internet.

17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your fellow, but you shall not bear a sin on his account.

יז לֹא תִשְׂנָא אֶת אָחִיךָ בִּלְבָבֶךָ הוֹכֵחַ תּוֹכִיחַ אֶת עֲמִיתֶךָ וְלֹא תִשָּׂא עָלָיו חֵטְא: Silence of evil is evil, to quote Glenn Beck.  How can we be silent at this travesty of justice? Not coming to their defense points to Sinat Chinam against the hilltop and Settler youth in our hearts and fueling Sinat Chinam between Chareidim and Dati Leumi communities. Will we allow them to be locked up to satisfy our own agenda?

18 You shall neither take revenge from nor bear a grudge against the members of your people; you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.

Duma Plea Bargain. A Terrible Deal not for the sake of Truth! The Public Wants to Know! What Really Happened at Duma? With Real Facts and Evidence!

Will we rely on testimony of a kid that is threatened with years of imprisonment for crimes he never committed unless he plea bargains??  

What value is Elisha's confessions at this point?  He admitted he would confess to anything to stop the ongoing torture! This charade of justice is psychological torture at it's best. 

These confessions only benefit the prosecution who advocates for those who prematurely slandered the Settler youth with the Duma arson.  This confession like the others was coerced and is worthless if it's the truth you are seeking. Who indeed were the perpetrators of the Duma arson?  Did anyone check out the Dawabshe family for clan infighting? Apparently not, as they don't fit the Given, the predetermined fact of the investigation, the Duma Blood Libel that they must be Jewish terrorist arsonists who murdered the Arab parents and their baby 

Facts and search for truth is the only evidence that should be permitted. Not self incrimination by someone whose freedom is being threatened if he doesn't comply.

Confessions by the tortured Duma suspects,  even in a plea bargain, are low life attempts to conceal the real guilty parties.

who rushed to condemn acts of terror by Jewish Settler Youth. 

They are desperate for Elisha to plead guilty because if Elisha and or Amiram aren't guilty, and there are no Jewish Terrorists connected to this arson, then they are the guilty ones. 

They, using their positions of authority, speaking with confidence from positions of authority, generated a hoax narrative of an arson terror attack in Duma allegedly perpetrated by Jewish Settler Youth within 24 hours of it happening without seriously examining the evidence before rushing to conclusions and condemnations. 

Tens of Hilltop Youth among them Meir Ettinger and followers of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane were detained, interrogated, traumatized.  They came up empty handed! This was going on for a few months.  In December they were desperate. 

 Elisha and Amiram were their next scapegoats.   
Elisha and Amiram were separated from other religious youths, placed in isolation and in conditions that befit a ticking time bomb terrorist, denied habeas corpus, denied rights to see a lawyer. Elisha was placed in a staged prison with actors who acted like terrorists, terrified and traumatized to get him to confess. Duma happened in 2015. That is 3 years of harsh incarceration and trauma for a crime this minor never committed!

Elisha's lawyer does not represent Elisha.  Elisha's lawyer represents Netanyahu and all the above mentioned authorities in positions of power that put Elisha in prison for no reason. 

They were responsible of taking away his innocent youthful years....  They were responsible for torturing him physically and emotionally, he and his family,  on and off, these past three years. 

They smeared and slandered the name of innocent  Jewish Kids in order to produce a narrative that show that there are Jewish Terrorists just like there are Palestinian Terrorists.

Someone who would really represent Elisha would sue all the guilty ones for slander, physical and emotional trauma to last a lifetime and would win hundreds of millions of Shekalim.  They wouldn't plea bargain 5 years instead of 15 years with time off for good behavior. .

Shameful and Dirty Deal !!

Dear Friends,

 For a long time, you have not been informed of what is happening in the Duma trial. The reason for this is that in recent months there has been a process that we could not report in which a minor deal was offered to the minor in the trial, which was secretly conducted behind the scenes. Tonight we reveal the main points of the deal that will be discussed in court tomorrow.

Let us recall that in the trial, the court rejected all the confessions linking the minor to the deceased. At the same time with regard to Amiram Ben Uliel, the court prepared the confessions and the recovery despite the presence and intervention of Miguel, head of the investigation team, the GSS response.

 Now, during the investigation of the prosecution witnesses, it turns out that Amiram's confession does not hold water. It is inconsistent with reality on the ground and not with the testimonies from the incident.

What to do???

Here comes an amazing initiative in its depravity !!

Proposal for a plea bargain with the minor. The minor, who apparently has indeed become entangled in several other cases, will admit that he planned to carry out a terror attack with someone without mentioning the name Amiram. He would admit that he was a member of a terrorist organization, without mentioning any other members. In return, we will lower the charges for 15 years to five years, and in fact we will remove him almost without punishment because the whole period of detention can be considered part of the punishment.

In this proceeding, the State Attorney's Office continues the line outlined by the court in advance. We'll get the boy out of the story in exchange of Amiram's head. The removal of Amiram's name from the minor's agreed-upon letter of complaint is throwing sand in the eyes. The minor who in internal conversations continues to claim that he is not connected to the story of Duma nor Amiram, can not resist the temptation to leave this story with this proposal which in reality amounts to nothing. The bitter truth is that the State Prosecutor's Office has no evidence or even half an evidence that links Amiram to the event in Duma. The minor's admission of guilt in the plea bargain is the gold on which the entire tower of proof will be built against Amiram.

 No judge will accept Amiram's sweeping denial of any connection to an event,  that it has not been proven it was committed by Jews, and the high probability is that it was carried out in the context of the local arson incitements there, when there is an admission of a Jewish terrorist organization that planned Duma.At the expense of extracting from the minor such nonsense that he has confessed without any connection to Duma, the prosecution will be able to incriminate those who, in our opinion, are innocent and have no evidence against him.

We can not replace the minor and his family in this attempt. Indeed, the fear of seeing your child spend about 15 years in prison can drive everyone crazy.

If the minor was really a partner in the Duma event and he is religious, we would not say anything. But when the clear statement is that the confession is part of a plea bargain that has nothing to do with truth, we believe that the public must know and understand that this is the most despicable conduct imaginable by the State Prosecutor's Office. It is simply a bribe to incriminate an innocent person in exchange for a lighter sentence.

We expect the minor and his family to understand the tremendous damage they are going to do in submission to the State Attorney's Office pressure.

And again in order to be clear whether this is a true confession we are silent and say that the offenders will be punished. But if the confession is only for the purpose of a plea bargain, we expect you not to be swayed by the threats directed against you by the prosecution. Azzur Kach said no to the shameful deal !!

עסקה מלוכלכת ובזויה!! 

חברים וחברות יקרים,

 כבר זמן רב לא עדכנו אתכם מה קורה במשפט דומא. הסיבה לכך היא שבחודשים האחרונים התרחש תהליך שלא יכולנו לדווח עליו במסגרתו הוצעה לקטין במשפט עסקה מלוכלכת, שהתנהלה בחשאי מאחורי הקלעים. הערב אנו חושפים את עקרי העסקה שמחר תידון בבית המשפט.

נזכיר, במשפט הזוטא בית המשפט פסל את כל ההודאות שקושרות את הקטין לדומא. במקביל ביחס לעמירם הכשיר בית המשפט את ההודאות והשחזור על אף הנוכחות וההתערבות של מיגל ראש צוות החקירה, המענה בשב"כ.

 עתה, במהלך חקירת עדי התביעה מתברר שההודאה של עמירם לא מחזיקה מים. היא לא מתיישבת עם המציאות בשטח ולא עם העדויות מהאירוע. 

מה עושים??? 

כאן באה יוזמה מדהימה בשפלותה !!

הצעה לעסקת טיעון עם הקטין. הקטין שכפי הנראה אכן הסתבך בכמה פרשות אחרות, יודה שהוא תכנן לעשות פיגוע בדומא עם מישהו בלי להזכיר את השם המפורש 'עמירם'. הוא יודה שהיה חבר בארגון טרור בלי להזכיר כמובן אף חבר אחר. בתמורה נוריד את הטענות לעונש מ-15 שנה לחמש שנים ובעצם נוציא אותו כמעט בלי עונש כי אפשר להחשיב את כל תקופת המעצר כחלק מהעונש. 

בהליך זה ממשיכה הפרקליטות את הקו שהתווה בית המשפט מראש. נוציא את הקטין מהסיפור תמורת ראשו של עמירם. הוצאת שמו של עמירם מכתב התביעה המוסכם של הקטין היא זריית חול בעיניים. הקטין שבשיחות פנימיות ממשיך לטעון שהוא לא קשור לסיפור דומא ולעמירם, לא מסוגל לעמוד מול הפיתוי לצאת מהסיפור בהצעה זו שלכאורה אין בה דבר. אבל האמת המרה היא שלפרקליטות אין ראייה וחצי ראייה הקושרת את עמירם לאירוע בדומא. הודאתו של הקטין במסגרת עסקת הטיעון היא ראיית הזהב שעליה ייבנה כל מגדל ההוכחות כנגד עמירם. שום שופט לא יקבל את ההכחשה הגורפת של עמירם לגבי כל קשר לאירוע שאין הוכחה שנעשה על ידי יהודים, והסבירות הגבוהה היא שנעשה במסגרת קרב ההצתות במקום, כאשר   יש הודאה בקיום ארגון טרור שתכנן את דומא. במחיר הוצאת הקטין מהשטויות שהוא עשה בלי קשר לדומא, תרוויח הפרקליטות הרשעה למי שלדעתנו חף מפשע, ואין לה שום ראיה נגדו.  

איננו יכולים להיכנס במקומו של הקטין ומשפחתו בניסיון זה. אכן החשש לראות את ילדך מבלה כ-15 שנים בכלא יכול להטריף כל אחד. 

לו הקטין היה באמת שותף באירוע דומא והוא חוזר בתשובה לא היינו  אומרים דבר. אבל כשהאמירה הברורה היא שההודאה היא במסגרת עסקת טיעון שאין בה לבין האמת כלום, אנו סבורים שהציבור חייב לדעת ולהבין שמדובר בהתנהלות הכי בזוייה שניתן להעלות על הדעת על ידיי הפרקליטות. זו פשוט הצעת שוחד להפליל בן אדם חף מפשע תמורת הקלה בעונש. 

אנו מצפים מהקטין ומשפחתו להבין את הנזק העצום שהם הולכים לעשות בכניעה ללחץ הפרקליטות. 

ועוד פעם כדי להיות ברורים אם מדובר בהודאה אמתית אנחנו שותקים ואומרים העבריינים יענשו. אך אם מדובר בהודאה רק לצורך הסכם טיעון אנו מצפים מכם שלא תכנעו לסחיטה באיומים שמנהלת הפרקליטות כנגדכם. אזרו כח אמרו לא לעסקה המבישה!!

I don't trust Shabak.  I also don't trust the Dean.

When examining a case in a Jewish Court of Law the judge must consider all sides as guilty at the onset until all the evidence is presented. 

Shabak is under lots of heat and pressure to produce a Jewish Terrorist. They will stop at nothing, torture, lies, blackmail etc.

They probably changed the charges to manslaughter so that they can negotiate  reduced charges because Shabak right now is losing credibility. They don't look so good in the media. Especially in social media which is harder to control.  

They can save face from mounting allegations and negative public opinion against them of fabricating evidence to manufacture Jewish Terrorists by offering a plea bargain deal letting the kid go off easy with Manslaughter charges rather than murder charges by suggesting that they  are saving Tzvi Nerya  from a 25 year prison sentence. 

Tzvi Nerya if innocent should never agree to a plea bargain but maintain his innocence.!

What would motivate Tzvi Neriah to stone an Arab car.

It is against Halacha. Neither his Parents or his Yeshiva would condone it.

He wasn't a rebel kid or kid at risk and why would he purposefully commit an act contrary to Halacha and contrary to what he was taught?

Why would Shabak assume these kids believe throwing rocks at random Arab cars is permissable Halachically. Indeed they don't brag about it or admit they did it and they deny vehemantly all allegations?

As soon as the heat is off Shabak, they probably won't care about sacrificing another kid on the alter if they can get away with it, and renege on the plea bargain like they did with Jonathan Pollard.

Sorry for being cynical.

Several questions come to mind.

Was the Rosh Yeshiva either entrapped or blackmailed to providing a refutation  of the students Alibi. That was my first reaction.

Why didn't this Rosh Yeshiva help Meir Ettinger,  Elisha Odess and Amiram Ben Uliel from trumped up Shabak  charges and protest 3 and a half years these Duma suspects have been suffering with no credible evidence? Was he afraid that they would come after him and his Yeshiva? Even now they refuse to speak about the Duma suspects and connect the dots.

Why would a Rosh Yeshiva testify against his Talmid?

So if we are to judge the Rosh Yeshiva in a positive light he either lied to protect Tzvi Nerya and provide him with an Alibi but it was inconsistent or if we judge the Rosh Yeshiva in not such a positive light, he  lied to protect himself. 

The Rosh Yeshiva could have easily been blackmailed. This whole Parshah is a black stain on Shabak and they can blackmail almost anyone. What comes to mind several possibilities.  He could have been blackmailed that he would lose all the stipends of each student declaring the yeshiva a hotbed of terrorism  thereby effectively closing down the Yeshiva. This has happened in the past.

Or perhaps they caught him or a family member doing something illegal  or immoral and exposing it would cause the Rosh Yeshiva terrible embarrassment. Netanyahu and Sharon and all politicians are not immune to such blackmail.

If he submitted a fake Alibi to save Tzvi Nerya from prosecution wouldn't he have colluded with the family and the lawyer so it would have been consistent?

In either case, we can conclude that if his story is inconsistent with the Alibi of the defendant than the Rosh Yeshivas story was suspect.

If it was a descrepant Alibi The Rosh Yeshiva must have made it up since if it was the truth and an Alibi  it  would have been consistent.  

If it was the truth why would the lawyer suggest Tzvi Nerya give another Alibi other than the truth?

If the Rosh Yeshiva had no clue where Tzvi Nerya was, he should have been honest and said he really didn't know.

If the Rosh Yeshiva was present where Tzvi Neriah claimed to have been and didn't see him  why would he agree to testify and be a  key witness against his Talmid. Why didn't he just keep his mouth shut and judge his student favorably rather than help Shabak who have a history of torturing Hilltop youth. . 

There is no explanation why Tzvi Neryas Alibi would differ than the Rosh Yeshivas. 

Now either Tzvi Neryas Alibi is a lie, or  the truth.

It seems to me that if Tzvi Nerya is innocent he would say the truth.

There are different possibilities.

Perhaps his lawyer advised him to lie  because the lawyer thought the truth wasn't an Alibi enough.

Perhaps the Rosh Yeshiva lied for him because he thought the truth wasn't an Alibis enough.

Did the lawyer instruct the kid to give an Alibi that wasn't truthful?

Or perhaps the Alibi Tzvi Nerya submitted was accurate.

But, either way the Rosh Yeshivas testimony is suspect and is not credible.

Tzvi Nerias  Alibi is really the one that should be examined closely.

Shabak's reasoning:

Shabak needs  a discrepancy to invalidate Tzvi Nerya's Alibi and who but the Rosh Yeshiva is more credible?. After all, noone would question a Rosh Yeshivas word.

Why should the Rosh Yeshiva be believed over Tzvi Nerya?  He can easily be blackmailed as we discussed or he felt he could justify a lie to protect Tzvi Nerya. His testimony is completely suspect and not to be believed.

What the Rosh Yeshiva says is irrelevant unless he was an accomplice to the Stone throwing murder trying to hide evidence and obstructing justice or an accomplice to Shabak trying to save his own skin 

It isn't smart of him to testify against Tzvi Nerya as it might only incriminate himself.

Since the Arab heard the stone throwers speak in Hebrew  from his moving vehicle there should be at least another accomplice. 

How come all the other students had credible alibis?

Meir Ettinger, Rabbi Meir and Libby Kahana's grandson, and other hilltop youth were interrogated and treated as ticking time bombs following the Duma arson. Meir Ettinger wasn't able to attend his own son's Bris as a result of his detention and  went  on a hunger strike.  He was released but since then he has been silent.

We can only imagine the terms of his "freedom".

The Shabak then targeted Amiram ben Uliel and Elisha Odess as the perpetrators of  the Duma Blood libel.

Everyone is absolutely certain that Jews burned an Arab home and murdered the parents and an 18 month old Arab baby. This is the Duma Blood Libel.

The only question remains is which Jews did it?!!!?

Recently, the blood libel has spiraled from Hilltop Youth to Yeshiva Pri Haaretz  with allegations of Jewish Youth murdering  an Arab women who was apparently stoned by Jews based on the testimony of her Arab husband.  While driving, he testified  that he saw and heard Jewish stone throwers...

This doesn't sound plausible if his windows were closed.   Was the scene of the crime investigated, her car carefully examined  and was  her body examined to even verify that it was a stone that killed her?

Yet Aisha Rabi, the Arab woman  "died from  rocks thrown by Jews", murder by Jewish Terrorists according to all reports.

Compare the investigation and the rush to condemn Jewish Settler Youth and this "Jewish Act of Terror" with that of Hadas Tapuchi Hy"d the Jewish Settler women who died after a head on collision with a truck after her car swerved after rocks found on the scene, were thrown at her car most likely by Arabs. That was deemed an accident requiring no further investigation.

Halachically,  Jews are not permitted to throw rocks on  Shabbat nor any day, at random cars, be it an Arab's car or a Jew's car. These kids respect the Halacha and  Torah teachings.  There is no motivation from their perspective to throw rocks at random cars.

Halacha,  Jewish law, allows an individual to protect oneself  in self defense and  permits one to kill someone to preempt getting killed themselves,  but otherwise a random attack on innocent civilians by individuals taking the law into  their own hands is not permissable according to Halacha. First of all...Where is security for the Residents of Judea and Samaria?  They are Tax Paying Citizens. Their children serve in Combat units protecting all of Israel in higher numbers porportionately than the rest of the population!!? Do they have no rights? Are their lives Hefker?

Let's demand some answers. Was there a thorough unbiased investigation to determine credible evidence as per how this Arab woman was murdered or was the unsubstantiated testimony of this Arab the sole justification of rounding up an entire Yeshiva.... just like Hebrew Graffitti was the sole justification  of the Duma charges against Jewish youth  rounding up, interrogating, arresting and imprisoning sometimes torturing  tens, maybe more Hilltop Youth?

Were Arabs investigated as well since there is a stronger likelihood that they are the perpetrators? Maybe they made a mistake and accidentally stoned one of their own thinking it was a Jew.  Or perhaps this Arab wanted to frame the Jews and maybe the death wasn't even caused by a stone?

Believing Arabs as credible witnesses over Jews is disengenuous. 

 40-60 Jewish students of Pri Haaretz a nearby Yeshiva who denied all allegations were subjected to traumatic interrogations and 5 arrested, denied due process, denied right to an attorney or to meet with their parents for a week all under gag order supposedly to protect them as minors.

I understand that they all have alibis including Tzvi Nerya the Yeshiva Bachur still held in jail with problematic DNA evidence against him, indicted for manslaughter, with an Alibi but condemned by the media and others quite liberally as a "Jewish  Terrorist" along with his entire Yeshiva etc.

It's gone way beyond slander. 

Elisha Odess then a minor, a Duma suspect tried to slash his wrists while this was happening to him. Now 3 and a half years later he is released under harsh terms of house arrest to his grandparents . In these 3 and a half years he was subjected to  torture,  imprisonment, isolation etc and there is still no credible evidence that he was involved and the trial recently threw out his forced confessions so there is no case against him that he was guilty in the Duma arson 

In an unbiased court of law this case would have been thrown out at the get-go for lack of evidence.  Habeas Corpus Act.

Will we continue to sit idly by? In 2016 a letter was sent to Rabbi Reuvein and Rabbi Dovid Feinstein asking them to follow in the footsteps of their Revered Father the late Rav Moshe Feinstein to write a letter asking  to free Meir Ettinger from Administrative Detention.

In 1980, Rav Moshe Feinstein took an active stand and wrote a letter on Rabbi Kahana's behalf  to free Rabbi Meir Kahane  from Administrative Detention based on humanitarian concerns as well as concerns for his safety.  A Telegram was hand delivered to Prime Minister Begin at the Jabotisky Dinner of November 1980. Failing to receive a response, Rabbi Avraham Fishalis coordinator of the initiative sent another telegram.

Mr. Yechiel Kadishay, the Prime Ministers personal advisor telephoned the Torah Leader and said it was out of his hands and it was a legal matter and that there wasn't much the Prime Minister can do.

Rabbi Meir Kahane was released a month later so maybe the efforts on his behalf did make a difference.

Unfortunately Parshas Duma goes to the very top echelon of the Israeli government including the President of Israel, the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, Knesset Members, the  Israel Supreme  Court and influential Rabbanim in Nationalist circles who rushed to judge and condemn prematurely without  any credible evidence incriminating the Hilltop and Settler Youth. Even Naftali Bennett put in an OpEd in the New York Times, of all places...

condemning acts of Jewish Terror a mere week after Duma happened before there was even an investigation... his condemnation on Jewish Terror, nationalist crimes, based on Shabak's word and Hebrew Graffitti.

It looks like these nationalist, religious, idealistic kids are pawns in a political war where religion and the Torah is seen as a terrible threat to the political powers at play.

For whatever reason, beyond my limited understanding, it seems that political survival and power and funding in Israel  is dependent on acknowledging and accepting as a given, the existence of Jewish Terror, and when necessary produce Jewish Terrorists whether or not they actually exist.
