...Ground operation is exactly the trap which Hamas wants us to fall into.
We have to create a situation in which launching rockets is too costly for

Re: Arab teen murdered by Jews. Comments by Robin Ticker Fwd: Anarchy by Shalom Pollack of Honenu

bs"d

This is all conjecture as I really don't have all the facts and I am only responding to what I read and my own life experiences.

It still is really hard to believe that 6 Jewish boys committed such a crime for no good reason. I am for now accepting the fact that this crime was indeed committed by Jewish teens as news reports have indicated.

Israeli society must be introspective and analyse what led to this.senseless, cruel and inhumane murder.  The education, occupation and recreation of these Jewish boys need to be examined.  There is nothing in Torah that would justify something like this.  I don't get the impression that these boys are typical settler youth.  Perhaps they are influenced by extreme Arab culture that justifies burning of humans and this deviant and criminal mindset permeated their psyches..

If these kids were minors, we seriously need to see if proper limits and guidelines were in place for these kids when they acted out in the past,  Were detected issues,  addressed or alternatively, simply let to lie under the radar?  Chances are, had they been addressed professionally and responsibly,   this tragedy never would have happened.

I don't think that the government's failure to protect Judea and Samaria from terrorists was the primary motivating factor of this crime.

I would like to add however that the government is truly at fault with 44 attempted kidnappings prior and no proper precautions put in place to properly protect the residents of Judea and Samaria from acts of terror and kidnappings.

One can agree that this gruesome criminal act of burning an Arab teen is perhaps in response to the government's failure to protect its citizens from evil.  Evil can assert itself  in various fashions.

One example of Evil is rewarding terrorists for terror and releasing them to society.

I believe in this case evil is manifested as a mindset and culture that is evil and societies' ignoring or perhaps looking the other way and refusal to seriously acknowledge a problem exists or rationalizing it's not serious when it is, or passing the buck and collectively failing to address evil in an effective manner. Let me explain. I am basing my assumptions on the conclusions of Soccer Thugs Burned a Palestinian Boy Alive in Jerusalem By Liel Leibovitz A close-knit gang of Beitar Jerusalem fans known as ‘La Familia’ ignites the Middle East

My gut feeling is that these kids were troubled teens with emotional deficiencies from before this incident, and were under observation as per news reports but their issues were not adequately addressed and things got out of hand and  tragedy struck. Were they under the influence of alcohol or drugs for example?

I've noticed that this is not a unique scenario.  Often society chooses to look the other way hoping kids especially teens, will miraculously straighten themselves out. They don't limit their access to alcohol, cigarettes or drugs.  Society tends to marginalize them and ostracize them rather than to help them address their issues with healthy dose of discipline and education when necessary. Other kids will be told to stay away from them and their bad influences. Sometimes kids manage to straighten out on their own, more often issues which are never addressed have repercussions lasting a lifetime that effects future relationships.  These same issues often continue to the next generation and if not addressed are played out even worse with the next generation. As a result family members suffer terribly and have to live with unhealthy dysfunctional spouses, parents, children and siblings unable to address the matter on their own. It can play out with incidences of domestic violence. The recent murder of 2 children by their father ages 14 and 10 demonstrates how things can escalate years down the road. Another example is the murderer of Leiby Kletzky.  Was there no indicators that he was unstable and dangerous before the tragedy occurred? Howard Greenberg, the defense attorney who clutched Aron's hand during the brief court proceeding noted that his client had untreated mental illness and came from a family with a history of schizophrenia. Maybe they were descendants of Holocaust survivors affected by the Holocaust generations later.  Unfortunately,  it takes a tragedy of great proportions to finally address the matter by society. Then it's too late.  Lives are lost. And that's when society will learn from the tragedy and institute reforms so that such a situation never happens again. Unfortunately, that's the best case scenario after the tragedy.  Alternatively, society can choose to merely memorialize the victims and then continue as usual blaming G-d for the tragedy without taking any responsibility or reason to address the direct cause.  They might even give inspiring lectures about Emunah and Bitachon and accepting G-d's decrees when all along it was negligence on the part of society to address evil that brought on the tragedy and not a simple a happenstance decree of G-d.

While kids need to grow and work things out in their own way, we can not afford to wait too long once ills of society and/or of an individual, is identified as pathological and evil. It must be addressed before much harm is done to hurt oneself or hurt others and society. It is the responsibility of the community and their government to be more proactive to protect society.

Condemning the kids alone is not fair.  In fairness, society is to share in shouldering responsibility for not educating, mentoring and addressing evil before tragedy struck..

We are all collectively to blame and no one including myself is exempt or guilt free.

It's something all those who were so quick to condemn these kids who perpetrated the crime should be thinking about.

As  I write  these  lines,  over  a million and  a half  Israelis are told  they should be ready at any moment to take  cover as scores of missiles  are slamming into  southern Israel at this  moment  from Hamastan / Gaza;( the  same place we brutally cleared of thousands of Jews and  handed over to our  worst enemies which was  supposed to bring peace)
Hamas  has issued terms for a cease fire including the release (again) of hundreds of Hamas terrorists

Flash: Now  it is  reported that sirens  are heard in  Jerusalem and we await the  decision of Hamas to fire  away or not...

Recently  Arabs brutally  murdered  three young  Jewish boys, killed  an off  duty police officer as he drove his family to a Pesach seder, and butchered a Jewish girl - all in the last weeks. No Jewish riots. Arabs continue to move  freely  and enjoy the  benefits  of the Jewish state.

For  a very long time, Israelis  have witnessed with  great perplexity and frustration as they are increasingly unsafe in their own country
.
Israel's Arabs began wide scale rioting all over the country in response to the Israeli army dragnet seeking the  killers of the three boys.   Israeli Arabs  celebrated the news of their death including Arab  students  studying in Israeli universities.

Israeli Arab politicians refused to label the killers  as terrorists.

Israelis are continually told  by the Left media and intellectuals in academia that we are not  at  war. There are no enemies. We  have  a "situation' and we dare not loose our moral high ground.
Of course we really do have an enemy, a very determined one. Most normal Jews in Israel know this but are made to feel something is wrong with them if they want to engage the  enemy as  one does in a real war

When government does not protect its citizens  anarchy reigns.

In conditions of anarchy the worst comes out in some people. Fear, anger and , frustration rule.,.  Six Jewish boys lost it and  killed an Arab.,a tragedy for  all involved
This can be laid at the feet of those who have  continually refused  to do their job and lead and protect.

Fwd: Honor Killing: Burning People Is a Muslim Thing

bs"d

News has it that they have Jewish suspects for murder of Arab teen.

I personally don't know what happened but my gut agrees with this post following this comment. It just not a Jewish thing to randomly pick a random Arab kid and burn him in revenge.  I have blogged about attempts to frame settler youth with Price Tag Vandalism.  Often it turns out that Arabs were perpetrators even though often political leaders and Rabbi's prematurely condemn the youth before there is any conclusive evidence or conviction.

I still wonder about the Rabin Murder and about Shabaq agent Raviv.

I still wonder how Baruch Goldstein went crazy and shot a bunch of Arabs unprovoked.  I personally knew him and his family and it just doesn't add up. He was a caring doctor . His Mother was President of Emunah women who loved Israel. She was typical American Dati Leumi Zionist. They were a family we all admired.  From my personal interaction with him, as neighbors,  I would never imagine him to lose it and just randomly shoot anyone unprovoked except of course for self defense.   I can not believe that he randomly wanted to kill a bunch of  Arabs because he hated all Arabs.  That wasn't the Baruch I knew.

I don't know what happened that day and I don't know what happened with this Arab Teen but I pray to G-d that in both cases the truth comes out.  Meanwhile my gut feeling is like the author below that Jews are being framed in order to create moral equivalency.  Creating moral equivalency will then in turn justify a Palestinian State since any terror activity on their part is no different than "alleged" terror activity on the part of Jews. This of course is false.

Jews are entitled to the Land if Israel and the borders are delineated.  All opinions agree that Judea and Samaria fall under the proper borders within Israel, promised by G-d as an inheritance to Israel and not an inheritance for  Arabs.  Jews are obligated to keep the commandments of the Land and Arabs are not.  Jews have no predisposition or anything to gain of taking the life of  an innocent soul be it Arab or Jew and burning it. We value human life.   It is against our Torah.  It is against our very nature.

There is a concept in Tanach of "Goel Hadam".  Family members are allowed to go after someone who accidentally killed their family member.  The Torah provides places of refuge, 6 Levite cities and other designated refuge cities, to this killer because it was not an intentional act of murder but rather an accident.  In the case of an intentional murder, society is obligated to find the murderer and he needs to be brought to justice and killed as punishment for having purposefully taken a life. That is why Refuge cities were set up for those who killed accidentally.  Please see a discussion on this topic by Rabbi Frand. http://www.torah.org/learning/ravfrand/5768/masei.html

Blood libels are part of the Jewish historical narrative and I would not rule out that this too is fabricated and a blood libel.  Before anyone rushes to condemn the "Jewish" murderers, before it is proven conclusively, I would advise to withhold judgement, apologies or comments.

[Might as well bone up on Islam now. The Jihad is getting closer and there will be a test later. Below, a timely message from an Israeli friend – a lawyer. df]

Jews do not burn bodies but Arabs do.

Burning a corpse is strictly forbidden by Jewish law.

In stark contrast, burning someone alive is one form of the traditional ritual of Muslim honor killings. ,

Three weeks ago, in Tunisian news, A Father Burned His 13-Year-Old Daughter to Death for Walking Home With a Boy. Tunisian

Last week a news wire reports: A 17-year-old girl and her husband were killed by her family for marrying without its consent, and another young woman was burned alive by a man for refusing his proposal in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, police said Sunday.

In Yemen, a 15-year-old Yemeni girl was burned to death by her father for getting in touch with her fiancé before their wedding

In old news:

Horror in Nigeria: pupils burn to death in boarding school attack by Boko Haram

400 women burned in Iraq

Rarely does a victim of attempted honor killing by being burnt alive survive but one did and bravely told her story in her paperback book, Burned Alive: A Survivor of an "Honor Killing" Speaks Out. When Souad was seventeen she fell in love. In her West Bank village, as in so many others, sex before marriage is considered a grave dishonor to one's family and is punishable by death. This was her crime. Her brother-in-law was given the task of meting out her punishment. One morning while Souad was washing the family's clothes, he poured gasoline over her and set her on fire. Miraculously, she survived, rescued by women of her village, who put out the flames and took her to a local hospital. Horribly burned over seventy percent of her body and still denounced by her family, Souad was able to receive the care she needed only after the intervention of a European aid worker. Now in permanent exile from her homeland, she has decided to tell her story and reveal the barbarity of a practice that continues to this day. Burned Alive ...is the first true account ever published by a victim of an "honor crime." Souad's inspiring testimony is a shocking, moving, and harrowing story of cruelty and incomparable courage...and an inspiring call to action to end a heinous tradition.

In a study on Honor killings about half are not killed but tortured to death which includes being burned to death. This appears to be an age old method which is found in the Qur'an (48:29) - "Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. ... Muhammad orders his men to burn alive those who do not present themselves at the mosque for ...

In some perverse sense bringing alive is one way that the sinner can still get into heaven as a martyr. A family who is shamed by the adulterer or homosexual and is charged with the obligation of executing the honor killing finds in this a method so that their wayward relative is not forever damned.

The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said, "The martyrs are seven, other than the one who is killed in the Way of Allaah, Ta'aalaa:
- one who dies of plague,
- one who drowns,
- one who dies of pleurisy,
- one who dies of stomachache,
- one who dies due to burning

- one who dies under a demolition (by accident)
- a woman who dies with a baby in her womb."
(Maalik, Aboo Dawood, An-Nasaaee, Ibn Maajah, Ibn Hibban, Haakim, Ahmad. Authenticated by al-Albaanee)

The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: "Getting killed in the Path of Allaah Ta'aalaa is martyrdom,
- (death in) confinement during childbirth is martyrdom,
- (death by) getting burned (by accident) is martyrdom,
- (death by) drowning (by accident) is martyrdom,
- (death due to) tuberculosis is martyrdom,
- (death due to) stomachache is martyrdom."
(Tabaraanee, Ahmad, authenticated by al-Albaanee)

Someone who "knew" the victim in the biblical sense claims that this 16 year old was at one time his consort.

In a new video you can see the faces of the abductors – no way settlers or Jewish.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.

The Tragedy in Eretz Yisroel! Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz speaks Sorting it out Ourselves; Explaining it to Our Children

bs"d

Dear Friends and Activists,

Rabbi Yaakov Horowitz has an amazing series on Project Yes teaching Personal Safety for Children. (Please check out his links 5-minute child safety videos, Child Safety Video #1Child Safety Video #2, and Child Safety Video #3)

He apparently spoke tonight on the topic  "The Tragedy in Eretz Yisroel – Sorting it Out Ourselves; Explaining it to Our Children."

It upsets me that there seems to be total resignation that what happened comes from Hashem and that all is for the good and we are incapable of understanding why Hashem is sending us such tragedies.  Isn't it also true that if we go in happenstance (Kerry)  Hashem sends us curses?.....

Rabbi Horowitz asked for questions.  So I asked him some rather down to earth questions....  I also had some answers that I thought would help....

Dear Rabbi Horowitz, amv"sh

How after 44 or so, failed kidnapping attempts and finally a "successful" attempt, 3 brutally kidnapped and murdered, can we reassure our children with confidence that there won't be any more kidnappings and murders.

What if anything is deterring the terrorists?  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/182448#.U7TPD_ldXOg.

When Yesorim, afflictions come, we need to ask ourselves what message is Hashem sending us.  Yefashfesh Adam Bemaasav....Let us examine our deeds.

Project Yes has been proactive with Summer Safety messages to prevent tragedies. If known pedophiles were allowed freedom to roam the streets and access to classrooms and camps, all your education would be compromised and made so much harder!

I believe this tragedy of kidnapped teens in Israel is first and foremost a wakeup call that we need to confront evil, specifically Hamas and Fatah..  There is a danger of just focusing on Emunah and Betachon and accepting that what Hashem does is ultimately for good when one does not confront the evil itself.

Will we then blame G-d or recognize that we perhaps were at fault?   Adults know this and will have a hard time explaining the failure to act with resolve and strength to protect society and kids will sense it as well.

I hear you say. there is nothing I personally can do, "It's not my place but the Government of Israel to act. All I can do is strengthen my Emunah and Betachon." This reminds me of a true story that happened in my community.  A Rebbe's young son hurt his finger. The boy's mother took him to the doctor who bandaged the wound and told the mother to keep the bandage on and to come back in a week.  The mother tried to comply with the doctor's orders.  The kid was in a lot of pain and the doctor insisted it would heal and be fine.  On Shabbos the pain was too great and they took the kid to a neighbor who was a PA.  The PA took off the bandage and saw that the problem was that the bandage was on too tight cutting off circulation. Baruch Hashem the finger was saved.

Sometimes, even a lay person needs common sense.

How can we explain to kids what could be done differently so that this doesn't happen again.

If you suggest teach them never to hitchhike, is that a solution? Stopping to hitchhike in Judea and Samaria where buses don't run frequently and are often not affordable, will significantly disrupt how people live their lives.  Hitchhiking is a common practice and an accepted way to commute within a close knit trusting community.  Blaming the hitchhikers puts blame on the victims.  It's like telling young children who were abused that their skirt was too short and if they dress with longer skirts this wouldn't happen.  Sure precautions, more buses and phone apps should be taken but the emphasis must be on stopping the perpetrators, the murderers and kidnappers.

Emunah and Bitachon

Let us have Emunah and Bitachon that Hashem Promised the Land to Am Yisroel and not the Palestinians and that in the Torah, only those who accept Jewish Sovereignty and 7 Noahide Laws are welcome as Ger Toshav entitled with full human rights as specified in the Torah (VeChai Imach)
35 And if thy brother be waxen poor, and his means fail with thee; then thou shalt uphold him: as a stranger and a settler shall he live with thee.
It seems to me that we must take care of the Ger Toshav, a non Jew in Israel, by making sure that they have a livelihood and that they don't get too poor. Human rights like medical benefits and education seems to be in order. However, if they don't accept Jewish Sovereignty and the Noahide laws, this does not apply.  Those that celebrated the kidnappings and murder do not fall into the category of Ger Toshav.  For these individuals, there are 22 neighboring Arab countries  with 800 times the land mass of Israel where Arabs can find their relatives and their respective communities and tribal affiliation.http://www.standwithus.com/booklets/25Answers/ page 2

Frankly, it seems pretty clear that there is no strong deterrence for terrorist and in fact the opposite.  Terrorists have it pretty good in Israel: They are rewarded with money, education, power, honor and even eternal blessings.  Check out these links.

The world says that Jews are "occupying their land". They have stolen our Identity and we do not protest.

Jews have yet to unite and assert our entitlement to Eretz Yisroel based on Torah.

I am a bit cynical of those who memorialize the victims when they empower evil to begin with. Why did Shimon Peres have to speak at the Levaya?  http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/244698/president-peres-eulogy-at-the-funeral-for-eyal-yifrach-naftali-frankel-and-gilad-shaar.html
I didn't appreciate him lecturing about Torah or offering to talk to Obama ,

Therefore, let us trying a different approach! Even if you don't actually live in Eretz Yisroel, the Land is also your inheritance.

Each and every person can do their little part to convince themselves, their Rav,  the government of Israel to Annex Judea and Samaria  Accept Levy Report.
Buddy Macy suggests these s
imple steps:

1) Open a second email window.
3) Copy & paste the following to the Subject Line of the email: HONOR OUR BOYS: ANNEX JUDEA & SAMARIA NOW!
4) Type your name and country in the text of the email; feel free to include a brief message, if you'd like.
5) Forward this email to everyone on your email, Facebook, LinkedIn and/or Twitter lists!!!

Here are additional suggestions:  Some of these points are discussed at length at http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2014/06/more-on-bring-back-our-boys-hardline.html
  • Ask your Rav to speak out for our entitlement of Judea and Samaria.  Ask Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah, Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation,  Agudath Yisroel of America, Young Israel, Chabad, OU, RCA etc to say Judea and Samaria is part of Biblical delineated boundaries.
  • Speak out for our entitlement of Har Habayit, Hebron, Kever Yosef, Kever Rochel, Kever Dovid Hamelech etc. all of our Holy Sites situated in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria in areas conquered in 1967 after our enemies attacked us from all sides.
  • Encourage Building in Judea and Samaria instead of the opposite slowdown of building in Judea and Samaria.
  • Collective Punishment on PA and Fatah when the situation calls for it
  • Throw out Arab Knesset MK's who don't recognize Israel's rights to Judea and Samaria. Deny voting rights to those who don't accept Israel's Sovereignty over the entire Israel.
  • Stop libeling, arresting, provoking, condemning and vilifying settler youth of Judea and Samaria. They have witnessed expulsions, homes cruelly demolished, their Yeshiva taken over and friends kidnapped and murdered.
  • Hitchiking:  There are those who believe that it's a way of life in Judea and Samaria that has many pluses.  (Of course we need to take proper precautions. Robin)
  • Try to visit Israel and work towards Aliya.  Just look at the US National Debt and your confidence in the dollar will plummet.
