Moshe Feiglin vs Naftali Bennett - Likud vs Bayit Yehudi, Jewish Home - Chanuka and Elections: - My Analysis

bs"d

In my last post http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2012/12/shame-idf-soldiers-run-away-rather-than.html I put in a good word for Naftali Bennett of Bayit Yehudi, Jewish Home.  Today I received a Manhigut Yehudit newsletter entitled "Moshe Feiglin on Jewish Home party and more" http://www.facebook.com/JewishLeadership  which included a link to Feiglin's Platform. http://www.mflikud.com/eng_contents/articles/73/Feiglinplatform.html.  In the newsletter he addressed the struggle between Likud and Jewish Home.

I see things differently than Moshe Feiglin.. What follows is my opinion.

I am under the impression that even though Likud has some excellent Nationalist candidates for Knesset, under Netanyahu they are impotent.

Because if they were not impotent they would have insisted and demanded under no uncertain language and terms under threat of leaving the Likud, in response to the recent UN vote granting the PA a nonmember State, that their party, the Likud officially adopt the Levy Report and that Judea and Samaria be annexed.  I have been sick to my stomach at some recent emails I have been receiving. How can Likud still be advocating a 2 State Solution knowing as clear as day that it's based on a lie and we all know that they know that a 2 State Solution can never be a Solution? Netanyahu plays politics and in politics we mask the truth.

I get the sense that Moshe Feiglin plays politics as well and masks the truth because he does not want to appear politically incorrect.  I am referring to his discussion about his opposition to a "religious party".  Feiglin does not feel comfortable talking about the Torah and Halacha (Torah Shebichtav and Torah Shebaal Peh).  He claims that to do so would be to have a sectoral party.  He is more comfortable with terminology like "faith based" Jews.  Apparently, in Moshe's opinion, one can be faith based and not 'religious".

But it's just a political game and using language as a political weapon. Moshe Feiglin knows that his platform is basically based on Torah Shebichtav and Torah Shebaal Peh.  But I believe his unwillingness to call a spade a spade will cause him to go astray. He claims a "religious" party will coerce but a "faith based party" will not coerce.  So for example if the majority of a community in Israel does not want to observe Shabbat they don't have to.  Let's run this by a Kingdom of days gone by!

A religious party in his opinion would "coerce" people to keep Shabbat.  Here is the flaw that I see in this argument.  A Davidic Kingdom like Solomon's Kingdom was the greatest Kingdom in the World it its time!  King Solomon was proud of the Torah since he knew it was the best road map for humanity.  I am sure that King Solomon would not be happy with a democratic vote of whether to keep Shabbat or not for the Jews living in Israel.  After all keeping Shabbat is in their best interest.  Rather, a wise Solomon would use the most successful Kiruv techniques and professionals and PR people out there to convince the population of the beauty of Shabbat.  Chabad and other Kiruv professionals disagree on approach. Chabad will say that unaffiliated Jews should drive to shul.  Other Kiruv professionals say absolutely not.  But we all agree that in the realm of Torah Shebeal Peh, Rabbinic Law, Eilu veEilu.. each approach is valid as long as it has Rabbinic endorsement and backup.  Other approaches are respected and valid as well.  The Talmud is full of such scenarios and that is what is meant by a Machloketh LeShem Shamayim, and argument for the sake of heaven..  There are 70 faces to the Torah.  But neither side would be happy with a secular democratic vote on whether or not the Torah is right or wrong.

When it comes to right and wrong the written and Oral Torah is our guide.  Feiglin is fearful to take this approach since he does not wish to be branded as a religious extremist fanatic like fundamental Islam.

Well in my opinion we can learn some things from our enemies and since we never can fathom success using a politically incorrect approach, G-d gives success to our enemies to prove to us that it can be done.  For example: Hamas' slogan is "Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur'an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief".  Slowly this religious slogan is taking over the world by storm.

Of course Hamas'  "religious" message is horrible. However....

Maybe G-d is sending us a message that a religious message can actually be popular and doable and not to be so afraid to sound religious! But rather than death, Jews choose LIFE!

The Miracle of Chanuka is that there were a few brave individuals, known as the Maccabees who were not afraid to tell the truth.  They did not care about being politically correct.  Matithyahu refused to play the game even though the Greeks would have compensated nicely for such an individual like Matisyahu to have played along.  The miracle of the oil also reflected an unwillingness of the Maccabees to use oil that was merely tainted because it was touched.  The Greeks weren't interested in destroying the oil.  They merely wanted that it be tainted and then used. Lenny Goldberg of Tapuach at Afsi's Chanukah Party in Manhattan enlightened us with his history lesson of the Maccabees. He said that these few individuals brought holiness into the world because they did what they did for G-d's sake alone. Similarly the Chanuka lights must be for G-d's sake exclusively and may not be used for any other purpose. Veein lanu Reshut LeHishtamesh Behem. It is forbidden to use Chanukah lights....Lenny Goldberg contrasted this period in history where the Maccabees succeed in overcoming their enemies with the history of the destruction of the 2nd Temple.  In that period of time there were many groups of Jews who wanted to fight the Romans.  However, they had self interest and each group wanted to take lead in winning the Romans.  So they were splintered and basically  destroyed each other.    What a lesson for our times.

I pointed out that inj a previous email that Likud is carrying too much negative baggage.  Moshe Feiglin has a valid point that Jewish Home has its share of skeletons in the closet.  So here is a suggestion. Start a new party and call it  "Zocher Habrit".

http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2012/07/re-prof-paul-eidelberg-hebraic-origins.html Let us see and review how Hebraic Law had it's origin in all political systems.

Every member must be willing to forego their place in the sun for the greater good. Zocher Habrit must put G-d's Covenant as #1 priority and personal gain must take a back seat burner. Everyone agrees that the existing way the political parties and cabinet is set up in Israel is not conducive to acting according to G-d's Torah and to voting according to ones inner beliefs of what is right and wrong.

As you can see from these links we are talking about Fatah and Hamas, an enemy determined to be united and no different than Nazis.  The reports of women and Christians being terrorized is the horrible consequences of our enemies eing given a free reign. Jews are the caretakers of the entire world.  When we do G-d's word the entire world is a safer more peaceful place.  When we don't,....it's Holocaust for humanity.

No I don't believe a "religious platform",  that is, one that openly calls for Torah SheBichtav and Torah Shebaal peh platform is sectoral.

LeHefech, the opposite, it is the only platform that is all inclusive.  Any other platform is sectoral including  Likud's or Manhigut Yehudits

 Shabbat Shalom Umevorach!

SHAME! IDF Soldiers run away rather than shoot! Ezra House in Hevron, belongs to Jewish Owner or Arab Tenant? Naftali Bennett. I like him

bs"d

Dear Friends of IDF, Media and newly elected Likud Candidates for Knesset amv"sh

Who is responsible for giving the orders to the Chayalim not to shoot when attacked? Are they clerks or politicians or military experts?

If the IDF is functioning based on misplaced concerns about how they look in the Media when they DO WHAT IS MORALLY RIGHT AND DEFEND THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL then HOPEFULLY this video will cause them to worry about how they look when they DO NOT DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND FAIL TO defend themselves and the people of Israel!

Therefore I am sending this shameful and embarrassing video to all the AMERICAN FRIENDS OF THE IDF who want the IDF Soldiers to be soldiers and not wimps.  Please put the pressure on the powers responsible for this shameful conduct.

In addition, I have sent this video to Likud candidates and my contact list and media list and posted it on my blog. Many Arabs would love scared pictures of Israeli soldiers running from Arabs but unfortunately they are smart enough to know that aggressive Arabs is bad PR and hurt Palestinians is good PR so my guess is that they will not overly promote this video.

I hope those who are so afraid of the International Media will now be significantly embarrassed because Israel's weakness to act responsibly is now exposed. The people of Israel deserve better.   IDF soldiers are being placed in harms way because of irresponsible orders coming from politicians and not generals.

Too many fatal statistics and news items prove that roads are unsafe in Judea and Samaria and lives are in danger as a result of stone throwers unchecked!
Likud under Netanyahu's watch is ultimately responsible.  Likud has too much baggage weighing it down to act, too concerned with public opinion to act with strength in action consistent with its rhetoric. In fact I seriously believe that their rhetoric is deeply flawed making it impossible to act with inner strength.  Only Ourselves to Blame.  http://yoelmeltzer.com/only-ourselves-to-blame/

On the other hand,  I really like what I am hearing from Naftali Bennett of Bayit Yehudi.

I liked Naftali Bennett's no nonsense approach to CNN!  http://www.gruntig.net/2012/11/cnn-interviews-naftali-bennett-major.html

The IDF is not the only one getting orders from those unqualified and unauthorized and Naftali Bennett speaks out on this as well.  He has an innate ability to identify and expose the root or shall we say rot of the problem.

Re: Ezra House in Hevron:

Mattot Arim writes:

Praklikud

The Praklitut is the Hebrew term for the State Attorney's Office. Over the years, this office has become a pro-Palestinian stronghold which works energetically against Judea and Samaria and much less energetically on everything Israeli society really needs.

To change this, the Likud needs to act like what it really is-- the ruling party. The Likud must stop being a Praklikud -- in which senior ministers and even the prime minister himself take their marching orders from shadowy State Attorney's Office personnel who run a policy approved by no-one.

So who's running for office this election day - Likud or Praklikud? We will find out this coming week – when the issue of Ezra House in Hebron comes up.

Fwd: Voter Fraud? Was the election stolen? An Urgent Appeal from a Patriotic Voter in NW Ohio

bs"d

I read the following post and had to describe my own voting experience in NYC.

I personally had very bad vibes when I went to vote.  I suspected voter fraud as soon as I was in the voting area.

I worried about the possibility before election day http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2012/11/more-anti-obama-posts-i-just-hope-and.html but it never occurred to me that my fears would actualize in the place I actually voted.  I feared that there would be some places where voter fraud might take place but I didn't suspect it would have anything to do with my vote.

I have been voting in the same place for many years and I'm familiar with the typical demographic of those manning the tables and voting booths, generally middle age to elderly primarily white but not necessarily so, multicultural and multi ethnic reflecting the general population in my area,  This time it seemed very weird that in an almost white neighborhood all the individuals manning the actual voting stalls were African Americans. I am not racist but this did not make sense to me.  The mix of voting personnel manning the voting booths should reflect the general  population as it usually does.  This indicated to me that they imported these people from other areas or took them from a skewed group of people.  I never remember such a phenomenon and that raised a red flag.

Neither I nor my husband felt there was any privacy. This disturbed me so much that before I actually voted I called up an elected official giving them the name of the actual Public School where i was voting asking them to please check out my particular voting district and make sure that everything was on the up and up.

It surprised me that Obama won so strongly. It shocked me that in some districts he received 100% of votes.  I know that African Americans as well as Hispanics campaigned for Romney. I couldn't believe that even in districts with many African Americans and Hispanics there was absolutely noone voting for Romney!  Another red flag.    In my daughters private school,  the kids had a mock election.  It did not surprise me to learn that Romney won over 470 votes and Obama got around 30 in her school. Kids grades 3-8 voted.  This probably was very indicative and a reflection of the voting patterns of their parents.  If any other elementary school or high schools in the area,  public or private had mock elections I would be interested to see if they were  in any way consistent with the vote tally in the actual districts.

Personally I really hate the new system of voting in NYC.  It definitely seemed much less secure than the old way of voting.  Why for heavens sake in this age of technology and computers is there a 2-4 step process whereby you have to take a paper and color it in in a "closed booth" and then go out of the closed booth to another area where you are assigned a number to a scanner and  it is openly scanned and manually manned by individuals who can often see how you voted on your paper.  In my case, I was first cleared to vote.  They then gave me a card with a number and a ballot. I handed the card to one of the people by a scanner and  was assigned to a particular scanner.   I didn't realize that first I had to fill in the ballot before getting assigned to the scanner. So  I filled in the ballot in a "closed booth" and once again went out in the open area to get it scanned.   I accidentally picked a different scanner than the one assigned to my voting card.  I wouldn't have realized that this was an issue except that the person who originally took by voting card  realized that I had used a different scanner than the one assigned to me and commented on it.

Why are all these steps necessary I thought to myself.  I wondered if having used  a different scanner for my ballot than the one assigned to me made my vote invalid?

Why can't it just be one secure step where it is all online computerized electronically and one goes to a closed room with a computer and a touch tone screen and you identify yourself electronically, pick your choices of whom you wish to vote using the touch screen, and then it asks for your confirmation, you say yes and your vote gets registered? I am sure there are many high tech people who can make sure that the security is not breached.

The old way was not computerized but it was at least the voting process was private. Perhaps what happened after the voting process took place alllowed room for unlawful intervention.

I imagine that a smart online program would ask you for your signature or thumbprint  or voice recognition to verify and make sure you are who you are and that you are indeed registered to vote.  This can be reinforced with someone checking your photo ID.  This way even someone who is away from home can vote online and the system makes sure that there are no impostors and no way to alter the vote by an unethical employee or supervisor who gains access somewhere in the process. Such a system would eliminate a separate count going on district by district which leaves room for intrusion as well.  Every vote would go instantaneously and securely to one central source and a back up source leaving it almost impossible to penetrate the voting process by unscrupulous forces.  TV audiences vote for their pick of a Star in a Talent show.  Now a days everything is done online so why not vote online?

I really hope that people in Congress and the Senate take this investigation very seriously.

From Rob in Northwest Ohio:

What follows below is a slightly edited version of a letter that I sent to my own member of the House of Representatives, Bob Latta. I sent a similar communication to my GOP Senator, Rob Portman, and to the Speaker of the House, John Boehner. I would urge all of you to write similar letters to potentially sympathetic members of Congress, or other relevant government officials, and to forward this e-mail and ask your like-minded friends to do the same.  A few letters here and there will do nothing, but if enough of us write, perhaps there will be some result.

Dear Representative Latta,

In the wake of what could well have been the most consequential election in U.S. history - certainly in our lifetimes - I am gravely concerned that we have just witnessed the greatest example of election fraud in our history.

Our Founding Fathers designed an ingenious system.  I consider the four-year presidential term to be just the right amount of time to determine if a given newly-elected president is "up to the job".  In addition to the checks and balances of our courts and the legislative branch, this is also a critical "check" on an inept or even destructive president.

Yet, in this case, the "check" clearly failed.  Despite a singularly dismal record on nearly every major issue, foreign and domestic, this president was re-elected anyway.  Was this simply because the GOP is allegedly 'out of touch' on social issues, as some claim? How could this be when exit polls showed that jobs/economy was the #1 issue, and moreover, reliable polling showed that voters trusted Romney more than Obama on these issues in any event?  Was this merely on the strength of the Hispanic vote over immigration?  Hispanics generally favor the Democratic party; could Obama have really won on the strength of that one constituency?

I submit to you that something of a much darker nature has happened.

Consider, given Obama's record, the incredible sense of urgency about replacing Obama that I encountered among every Republican or Republican-leaning independent I met or with whom I communicated; surely this was your experience as well.  Yet, Obama "won" with less votes than McCain got in '08, and Romney got just over two million fewer votes than that, with an overall turnout less than even the '04 election

That we saw such turnout results in an election in which the presidential debates - particularly the first one - garnered an unprecedented viewing audience, is simply incredible to me.

In such an environment, that we couldn't even turn out as many votes for Romney as we did for McCain four years ago is nothing short of surreal...and completely lacking in credibility as an honest proposition, given the above.

Look at what happened right here in NW Ohio.

You saw the huge number of yard signs everywhere for Romney, vastly outnumbering those for Obama.  And then there were the "Protect Religious Freedom" yard signs; since when in living memory, if ever, did anyone consider that necessary?

Surely, you know of the vast disparity in enthusiasm for Romney at his rallies, versus Obama at his.  I've heard countless anecdotal reports of this.  You must have heard about the local union types who, the week before the election, were caught stealing Romney yard signs; that is the sign of a desperate campaign if ever there could be.  Our ground game here in NW Ohio was far beyond what was done in '08; the Tea Party that greatly augmented the GOP efforts in this regard both here and nationally - and which produced decisive results only two years ago - didn't even exist when McCain ran in '08.  Yet Obama "won" in Wood County...how could this be?

The evidence of election rigging goes on even from there.  How about Federal efforts to halt purging of voter rolls in Florida, interference with enforcement of our own voter ID laws right here in Ohio, pressure on Pennsylvania to postpone enforcement of their own newly-enacted voter ID law until next year?

Is it not suspicious that Obama did not win a single state with voter photo ID laws on the books?  That he won every major swing state otherwise, despite the volatility of the polling in these states leading up to the election?

I could go on with even more examples, but I'm sure you see my point by now, and you may have seen these and more examples yourself from other sources.

I am writing to tell you that, as a voter, as a citizen, as someone with no special inside knowledge, it is clear and obvious to me - and many others I know - that this election was stolen.

Where presidential elections are concerned, have we now sunk to the level of Venezuela?

I am just a factory worker.  I do not have the resources, the power, or the influence, beyond my vote - Does this matter anymore? - and my small circle of like-minded family and friends, to address this crime.  For that is what it was:  a crime against this nation and her people.

I have to count on people such as yourself, my elected representatives at the national level, to investigate and pursue this matter for a just resolution.  This has got to be investigated, and exposed.  Hearings have got to be held.  Responsible parties must be brought to justice.

This historic travesty cannot be allowed to stand.

Thank you for your efforts.

URGENT! Palestinian UN move against Israel tomorrow November 29th

bs"d

Dear Elected Likud-Beytenu Representatives: Will you be true to your constituency? Tomorrow will be the  test to see if you will really make a difference in the Likud party or whether you will be a bunch of sitting ducks.

The hostile and dangerous 29 November Palestinian maneuver is shocking.

ISRAEL HAD BETTER ACT NOW WITH STRENGTH!  Right Wing Likud Knesset members must apply pressure to Netanyahu to act with strength:
  • APPLY JEWISH SOVEREIGNTY IN JUDEA AND SAMARIA
  • RATIFY LEVY REPORT
  • TERMINATE ISRAELI PAYMENTS TO PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY
  • DEMAND AMERICA To WITHHOLD PAYMENT TO FUND THE PA WHICH USES MONEY FOR TERROR
  • DEMAND AMERICA TO WITHHOLD PAYMENT TO UN AS LONG AS IT USES MONEY TO FUND TERROR
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING FOR CHIZUK!

http://mad.ly/0bf943?pact=12878887502&fe=1

Dear Knesset Members:  Mazal Tov on winning a top spot in the Likud primary.  I campaigned for many of you.  But...If your influence is not significant, and Likud continues to appease, that is an indication that Likud is impotent, incapable of change under Netanyahu (probably due to its excess baggage and misdeeds in the past weighing it down). Consider starting anew,  establishing a new party by remembering our past and merge with other Nationalist parties and MK's. http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2012/06/zocher-habrit-news-fit-to-print.html

Sunday likud primary Who to vote for. Please forward to your friends, lists

bs"d

Likud Primaries - Recommendations

Likud primaries have been announced for THIS SUNDAY 25 November. Voting hours are 9 AM to 10 PM. If you are registered, you got a letter announcing this. Please bring your ID card (teudat zehut) and, preferably, also the letter. Voting locations are ANY of the following:https://www.likud.org.il/images/elections13/atarim08112012.pdf  i.e. you do NOT need to vote where you live.

You MUST vote for EXACTLY 12 candidates, plus 1 more in your "machoz" (geographical area), total 13 candidates. Our suggestions below are based on Mattot Arim comparative parliamentary achievement reports throughout the term http://heb.mattotarim.org/index.php/reports, plus opposition to Palestinian state, plus realistic chances (for example - the slot reserved for olim is so low that it is unlikely to yield an actual Knesset seat). Suggestions:

1-6 - "Must" level: There appear to be 6 candidates who are a "must" on each ideological voter's ballot. These are MK's Zipi Hotovely (women's slot), Danny Danon, Zeev Elkin, and Yariv Levin who were high achievers in ALL of the Mattot Arim achievement reports throughout the term (their Mattot Arim achievement scores are a whopping 94, 98, 98 and 98 respectively!!!). Yuli Edelstein was the highest achiever among the ministers. Finally there is a new, very well known hence very realistic, strong Eretz Yisrael candidate - Moshe Feiglin.

7: Keti Shitrit -- National Camp candidate, reserved slot ("new women candidates") placed high enough to get into Knesset, running against a less desirable candidate associated wih the left.

8: DrGabi Avital  - National Camp candidate, believed to have a realistic voting base hence capable of entering the Knesset

9, 10, 11, 12: Select from among the following, who oppose Palestinian state and whose Mattot Arim achievement scores are indicated: Ofir Akunis 84, Gilad Erdan 69, Gila Gamliel 71, Ayub Kara 74, Yisrael Katz 73, Leah Nes 67, Zion Pinian 86,  Miri Regev 86, Ruby Rivlin 81, Gidon Saar 69, Silvan Shalom 75, Moshe-Bogy Yaalon 77. Anglos who are more aware than Hebrew speakers of the dangerous diplomatic currents in the world which are reported mainly in English, may wish to particularly include Gidon Saar who led ministerial opposition to the disastrous notion of Palestinian state.  Note that candidates not listed above, are not believed to be realistic OR are not expected to devote themselves to prevent Palestinian state & to other National Camp strategic goals.

13: Candidate in YOUR geographic area (find your geographic area here: https://www.likud.org.il/images/elections13/מפת_המחוזות_נספח_א.pdf): This 13th vote may not sound important, but it is:

Shfela - Meir Malka -  important new ideological pro-Eretz Yisrael candidate in a realistic slot, running against powerful competition who are  -- to put it delicately -- not Eretz Yisrael supporters;

Jerusalem – Moshe Ifargan,  Galilee – Davidi Harmelin, Negev – Itzik (Yizhak) Danino; Mishor haChof - Zadok Cohen, Moatzot - David Grosberg, Gush Dan - Yosi Fuchs (Anglo), Tel-Aviv - Lior Ben-Ezra. A less desirable candidate, Sinai Kehat, is shown here consorting with Arafat, hoping to encourage others to do so: http://mattotarim1.blogspot.co.il/2012/11/sinai-kehat-visits-arafat.html

MK Zion Pinian has asked us to clarify that he too opposes Palestinian state.
