Action Alert : Pollard: 'I Can’t Get Out of Jail without Israel's Help

bs"d

What we can do in America to help Pollard? Take the contact information presented below.  While on the phone with the Foreign Affairs Committee in Congress, lobbying about removing constraints to kill terrorist leaders, bring up Pollard.

Tterrorist leaders if caught alive have been put into Israeli prison and serve as professors for advanced terrorism courses to other Palestinians sitting in jail thereby upgrading their fellow Palestinians with relative unsophisticated knowledge of terror to a higher level.  Many of these students and sometimes the terrorist leaders themselves with blood on their hands are then released only to continue in their acts of terror on a more sophisticated level.

Compare this with Pollard who is also sitting in prison, who the gov't of Israel has abandoned  and mention that his motivation was to share intelligence regarding a matter of Israel's security, with Israel, an ally. The intelligence he shared was intelligence to which Israel was rightfully entitled according to the existing agreement with Israel and USA.  Ask why America did not share the intelligence themselves as they were obligated to,  putting Jonathan Pollard in a moral dillemma????  Say you believe that indeed Jonathan Pollard is a hero of the highest moral character and it is a national crime of the highest degree that he has been sitting in jail !

Subject: Attn US citizens: Ask Congress to remove constraints on Israel to kill terror leaders and kill human shields in Gaza

US policy presently allows Israel to shoot at rocket launchers in Gaza -  not those who give the order to shoot from Gaza..

Each time Israel mounts the slightest military operation towards Gaza, the US intervenes.

We in the world of  journalism can easily locate and reach Gaza leaders who  give the orders to fire mortars into the Western Negev.

The IDF can also locate and reach the same culprits.

The US State Dep't has repeated time and again that Israel must not kill non combatants, including people who give orders to fire.

There are several US groups who now organize massive pressure on the US  to not allow Israel to respond militarily.

The answer must be stated simply: Dead terrorists cannot give orders to kill.

It is vital for US citizens to bombard members of the Middle East Subcommittee of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee with one message:

Here are the members:

The tel. of all congress people is: 202-224-3121

The Message:

STOP RESTRAING ISRAEL'S HAND.

ALLOW ISRAEL TO KILL TERRORIST LEADERS AND KILL HUMAN SHIELDS

THERE IS ONE KIND OF ACCEPTABLE TERROR LEADER: DEAD.

SHEICK YASSIN IS VERY LONELY DOWN THERE

Hundreds of people must flood Rep. Howard Berman, chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee and Rep. Gary Ackerman, chairman of the Middle East Subcommittee of the US House Foreign Affairs committee with that message

Speaking personally, the lives of my children in  Sderot depend on this message being delivered to those who can remove US restraints on Israel.

(IsraelNN.com) Jailed American Jonathan Pollard, imprisoned for life
for passing on classified information to Israel 23 years ago, told
the Hareidi religious daily HaModia that the American government will
not pardon him without the involvement of the Israeli government. He
stated that former Prime Minister Ministers Yitzchak Rabin and
Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu are the only two leaders who acted on his
behalf.

Pollard stated, "The people in the White House are not stupid; they
see the negligence of the Israeli government and the Jewish
community."

He added that the American Jewish community also needs to play a
larger role in his appeal for relief from the severe sentence, which
usually is no more than four years in prison for similar offenses.
"If the Jewish community here would have understood this to be their
moral obligation - if not for me, for you yourselves, I would have
gotten out," he said n an interview. "And it is not too late…. My
message to the Jewish community is if you won't speak up about it,
then you are agreeing with it

Golan Promise (1981)

http://drybonesblog.blogspot.com/
With all the talk about Israel giving the Golan Heights back to Syria "in exchange for peace" I decided to search the Dry Bones archives for cartoons about the Golan and about Israeli "concessions for peace".

I was shocked to discover a fact that everyone (your faithful servant included) has forgotten. Following the 1973 Egyptian Yom Kippur War surprise attack on Israel, the Israelis pushed the Egyptian invading force out of Sinai.

In the ensuing "search for peace", America put heavy pressure on Israel to withdraw from the Egyptian Oil fields in Sinai.

What I (in 2008), and apparently President Ronald Reagan (in 1981) forgot was that Israel had received something tangible from the Americans in return for the unilateral withdrawal from the oil fields:

"the tangible benefit for Israel from its agreement to a unilateral withdrawal from the Egyptian oil fields was a presidential letter from President Ford concerning the vital importance of Israel holding on to the Golan Heights, which Israel had taken from Syria in 1967 following 19 years of Syrian shelling on Israel's northern communities from the towering Golan Heights, and Syria's incessant attacks from the Golan on the Sea of the Galilee – Israel's only fresh water resource, from where Israel's National Water Carrier pumps water to the whole country." -more
In the letter, Gerald Ford, 38th President of the U.S. gave an assurance that
"The U.S. will support the position that an overall settlement with Syria in the framework of a peace agreement must assure Israel's security from attack from the Golan Heights. The U.S. further supports the position that a just and lasting peace, which remains our objective, must be acceptable to both sides. The U.S. has not developed a final position on the borders. Should it do so it will give great weight to Israel's position that any peace agreement with Syria must be predicated on Israel remaining on the Golan Heights." -more

Thank you Akiva for your excellent comments.  Besides the typo of Kassam instead of Yassam, it's pretty apparent that the Security of the Jewish people be it  IDF, police or Yassam is as Akiva puts it a tool for the political class or as David Bedein says acting in response to American intervention, removing functional generals and replacing them with like-politically-minded sycophants.

We can say the same thing about the Judicial system.  Judges do do not carry out justice but are the same like-politically-minded sycophants.  What is with Misphat Ivri?

Apparently the police serves not to protect the security of the citizens rather are the same like-politically-minded sycophants..

How about the Media. Where is the voice of Judea and Samaria.  Why is A7 banned? Same as the above in the mainstream media.

How about the Rabbinate? Are they speaking up for Torah or appointed by the political class and misrepresent that as Torah?

So .....
Isn't there a Higher Authority?
What are officers to do when commanded to carry out immoral orders?

What are citizens to do when their legal system is corrupt and not just.  What's the point of going to court?

What are religious Jews to do when their appointed Rabbis of the political class promote the political agenda rather than Torah.

Akiva writes:
I agree with what you wrote, but a few fact corrections:

2. Amona - Select Kassam units of the IDF cruelly commit a pogrom on unprotected, unarmed G-d fearing Jews primarily a bunch of teenagers.

- Yassam, not Kassam.
- Yassam is a special riot police division, who receive crowd brutalization training. (really)  They are not army, nor even regular police.  I have a picture of this from an event where they tore down a synagogue in Hevron last night I'll send you (you'll see the difference).

3. The IDF command structure was changed under the Sharon & Peres regimes, removing functional generals and replacing them with like-politically-minded sycophants.  They revamped the IDF battle structure to fit their new-middle-east world view, which of course didn't really exist.  You know the results.  My point being, the IDF is a tool of the political class, not an independent entity.

3. S'derot - same statement, the IDF provides or doesn't the coverage or defense that the political class orders.  They present attack plans and are told not to.  They present defense plans and are also told not to.  S'derot is not being left out to dry by the IDF, but by Kadima.

7. No, the police did.  I'll send pictures so you have an example.  Same story as above.

I don't idolize the IDF, but neither do I condemn them for following orders.  That's what we expect armies to do.  When they don't, we call it a military coup.

ACTIION ALERT! SUPERURGENT! Halamish brothers ordered to Jail by Arab Judge.

bs"d

Superurgent

The Halamish brothers from Gush Etzion were just ordered, by an Arab Supreme Court judge, to present themselves for imprisonment first thing tomorrow morning. (It's nice to have plenty of notice about these things…). This order was given a few minutes ago. The Supreme Court judge was to have held a hearing pursuant to a District Court decision which referred the case to him, however, he has refused to do so. This is standard, unfortunately, when settlers are involved.

So, the Halamish brothers, guilty of shooting only in the air and injuring no one responsive to a security event – in other words, innocent of any crime – will go to jail tomorrow. Women in Green request your presence at a demonstration at the Migrash haRusim – Russian Compound – in Jerusalem at 9 AM tomorrow morning (Monday). For details Nadya 0505500834 or Datya 0505246770

Action Alert: Pidionshvuim7&8 Halamish brothers, family in Negahot

bs"d

Action Alert:  In addition to calling up the Embassy [telephone 202-364-5500], here are additional email addresses to express your outrage at the arrest and pending imprisonment of the Halamish brothers whose crime is protecting a Jewish community.

Apparently, American Foreign Policy rather than legitimate Israeli security considerations are dictating IDF.  Dismantling 50 roadblocks as well as supplying Fatah with arms that find themselves in the hands of terrorist are other examples. where American Foreign Policy   has taken priority over security considerations, thereby endangering the lives of Israeli citizens.   Evicting a family from their home on the Eve of the holiday by the IDF is another proof that the IDF will operate in order to please American Foreign Policy rather than behave with human decency and concern for their fellow Jew.

Pidion Shvuim Alert:
No. 7
Halamish Brothers Land in Legal Limbo; Could Be Arrested Any Moment

Hours before they were scheduled to begin their prison sentence in
connection with protecting a Jewish community, the Halamish brothers won
what turned out to be a very short reprieve.
Jerusalem District Court Judge Moshe Ravid stayed the prison sentence of
Danny and Yitzhak Halamish, scheduled to enter jail on April 10. At first,
Ravid ordered a hearing after Passover to discuss why the request by the
brothers to stay their prison sentence was rejected without explanation. But
a day later, Ravid said the hearing would take place on April 11 at 9:30
a.m. Why? Call it pressure from his superiors.
At the hearing on April 11, Ravid, who pleaded ignorance to the details,
said he did not have authority to decide the case. The prosecution was
pleased, but then asked the judge to order the arrest of the Halamish
brothers so that they would not be declared fugitives. The judge refused,
and suggested that the court that sentenced the brothers be approached
instead.
The bottom line is that the Halamish brothers are free, but could be
arrested at any moment. The brothers plan to again appeal the Supreme Court,
which already rejected a previous motion.
In March, we reported on the case of Danny and Yitzhak Halamish, two
members of an Israel Army-sponsored unit abandoned by the military and
sentenced to jail for protecting a Jewish community in Judea and Samaria.
Since then, at least 1,000 people have either telephoned
their outrage to the Israeli military or signed a petition for the
suspension of theit sentences.
Ravid's ruling not to hear the Halamish case could give the brothers
another chance to prove their innocence. The brothers argued in their appeal
that a third member of the unit had been kept of out prison until he
was pardoned by then-President Moshe Katsav. The Halamishes have submitted a
similar
pardon request to President Shimon Peres.
Dear lovers of Zion, there is no question that your pressure helped keep
the Halamish brothers out of prison. Now, we must redouble
our efforts so that the Israel Army assumes responsibility for its soldiers
and
either bails them out or tries the brothers in a military court..
Call the Israel embassy  [telephone 202-364-5500] and ask to speak to
the military attache. Express your outrage that the Israel Army abandoned
its fighters for protecting Jews.. Don't argue. The military attache's office
knows exactly what you're talking about.
Stress that you are an American citizen whose support for the Israeli
military is based on its protection of Jews. Say that you also plan to
discuss this case with your member of Congress who decides on U.S. military
aid to Israel.
The Olmert government, with an approval rating of near zero, has refused
any accountability to the Israeli people and fears only the Bush
administration. Unless we act now, there will be many more young Jews in
jail. The Jewish holiday of Passover is about redemption. Let's work to
redeem our fellow Jews.

With Love of Israel,
Datya Itzhaki
