Having just said Yizkor for all our loved ones, for the millions of victims of the Shoah, the soldiers and citizens who have fallen in the many wars, and for the victims of terror attacks, we also take note of the fact that today, June 6, is the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Normandy

The cost in lives was enormous, but the invasion made the victory in Europe possible. We honor the memory of all those who so bravely fought for their country and for the freedoms that had to be preserved.

That sense of sacrifice, ethics, morality, courage, dedication, and love of country seem to be lost in a fog of inexplicable actions today on the part of our government. The release of the 5 super terrorists from Gitmo, on the ridiculous promise of "monitoring" by Qatar, endangers American lives, as well as the lives of citizens world-wide.

The urging of the Obama/Kerry team for Israel to continue negotiating with the new terrorist entity, Fatah and Hamas, is immoral, unethical, indecent, and dishonest.

AMERICANS MUST NOT BE SILENT. WRITE - SPEAK OUT- BE THERE!!

This past Tuesday, June 3, as we were preparing to close the AFSI office for the two-day Shavuot holiday, we sent out a notice about the new PUG - the Palestinian Unity Government - the PA and Hamas joining forces.

We also informed our readers that, not to anyone's surprise, the Obama/Kerry DC duo believe that Israel should continue to negotiate with this clearly terrorist organization.

Fortunately, we have members of Congress who believe otherwise. They also know that U.S. tax dollars must NOT go to fund a PA/Hamas unity government that would endanger the national security intersts of bothIsrael and America. In Tuesday's email, I asked our readers to call the offices of Congressman Doug Lamborn, Eliot Engel, Trent Franks, and Brad Sherman. It was my oversight that left off the name of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, 202-225-2331.

After calling all these offices today, I learned that the Washington Free Beacon carried an article by Adam Kredo entitled, CONGRESS SEEKS TO DESIGNATE NEW PALESTINIAN GOV'T AS A TERROR ORG - New Resolution pushes to cut aid, dissolve new Palestinian unity gov't.

The article informs us that the new resolution is sponsored by Reps. Michele Bachmann (R. Minn) and Trent Franks (R. Ariz.). Clicking on the link to the 'copy of the draft resolution' , one can read the contents of the Resolution which is expected to be introduced on Monday. Speaking for AFSI members, I have offered our services in promoting this Resolution to the extent possible

This new unity government MUST be classified as a FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION and as such MUST have all U.S. Aid removed. Of course, Obama/Kerry MUST get the message that Congress cannot be ignored on this matter, as the president likes to do with his "oversights" and flagrant use of executive privilege.

Calling your own representatives - Senators and Congress person - is essential: The U.S. Capitol Switchboard number is: 202-224-3121

 Congress Seeks to Designate
New Palestinian Gov't as a Terror Org
New resolution pushes to cut aid, dissolve new Palestinian unity

By: Adam Kredo - Washington Free Beacon - June 6, 2014

Military spokesmen for al-Qassam brigades and Hamas/AP

House lawmakers are currently pushing a resolution to classify the newly formed Palestinian unity government as a foreign terrorist organization and cut off U.S. aid following the formation of a new ruling body that includes the terror group Hamas, according to a copy of the draft resolution obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

The new resolution, sponsored by Reps. Michele Bachmann (R., Minn.) and Trent Franks (R., Ariz.), calls on the State Department to designate the Palestinian Authority (PA) and its new Hamas-backed unity government as a terrorist organization. The resolution is expected to be introduced Monday.

It additionally calls for the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) to be reclassified as a terror group and for the U.S. government to fully cut aid to the Palestinians, who have received around $5 billion in bilateral assistance since the 1990s. "The Palestinian Authority has shown its true colors by forming a unity government with the terrorist organization Hamas," Bachmann told the Free Beacon. "This nightmare scenario for the peace process means that Congress must reassert its constitutional authority and suspend foreign aid to the PA. We cannot continue to assist our enemies at the expense of our ally, Israel."

U.S. lawmakers and Israeli officials have expressed shock in recent days that the Obama administration is willing to work with the new Palestinian unity government, which united the ruling Fatah party with the Hamas terrorist group that runs the Gaza Strip.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle maintain that the unity deal violates a U.S. law banning taxpayer dollars from being sent to any Palestinian government that includes Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.

However, the Obama administration has sought to exploit loopholes in the law and announced in recent days that it is willing to work with the new Hamas-backed government, despite Israeli objections. The new congressional resolution maintains that there should be consequences for these moves and pushes for the PA to quickly dissolve the new government and outlaw Hamas. "Since Hamas and Fatah have now unified, Congress must reassess our foreign aid and support to the Palestinian Authority (PA), as foreign assistance runs in direct contravention to current law in regards to a unity government," the lawmakers wrote in a letter to fellow lawmakers urging them to support the resolution.

The resolution explicitly urges the State Department to classify the new government as a terrorist entity, which would effectively block financial transactions with it and cut it off from the international community. "Since Hamas and Fatah have unified, regardless of it being made up of technocrats from Hamas and Fatah, the secretary of state should designate the Palestinian Authority and such unity government as a foreign terrorist organization, and redesignate the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) as a foreign terrorist organization," according to the draft language.

The resolution additionally criticizes Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas for harming U.S. efforts to forge a peace deal by unilaterally pursuing statehood at the United Nations and condoning "anti-Israel incitement," according to draft text of the measure.

It also takes aim at Abbas and the PA for "rampant corruption" that includes paying salaries and "other forms of compensation" to imprisoned terrorists and their families.

"The Palestinian Authority's highly advertised terrorist salary program incentivizes killings and bombings against innocent civilians, which includes the murder of at least 54 United States citizens since 1993 and more than 83 injured," the resolution states.

Lawmakers and experts have maintained that the Obama administration is violating U.S. law by continuing to fund the PA and its unity government. The 2006 Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act explicitly states that no U.S. aid can flow to a Palestinian power sharing government that includes Hamas or any members of the terror group. The law further bans aid to any government in which Hamas is given "undue influence" over political decisions.

Aid to such a unity government would be contingent on all parties recognizing Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state and accepting all past agreements inked with Israel.

However, Hamas has vowed to continue its armed resistance against Israel and has refused to renounce terrorism against Israel. The White House's decision to work with the new Hamas-backed Palestinian government sparked a new row with the Israeli government, which publicly expressed outrage with Washington.

It was further reported this week that the Obama administration has been secretly speaking with Hamas for the past several months and may have even suggested ways it can participate in a unity government without triggering a cut in aid.

The American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the nation's top pro-Israel lobbying group, announced late Thursday that it is backing a cutoff in aid to the PA.

AIPAC, which was initially hesitant to publicly push for a cut in aid, stated in a memo that the "unity government backed by Hamas is a disturbing setback for peace."

"Congress should suspend aid to the PA while it conducts a thorough review of continued U.S. assistance to ensure that U.S. law, which prohibits funds to a Palestinian government in which Hamas participates or has undue influence, is completely followed and implemented," AIPAC wrote.

Capitol Hill insiders maintain that the Obama administration is violating the law and that Congress is prepared to crack down on the PA. "The law here is crystal clear: we must limit aid to the Palestinian Authority should it formally associate itself with Hamas," said one senior House aide working on the issue. "However, the Obama administration is likely to dodge this requirement in order to keep its failed peace process on life support. Is the White House really prepared to defend sending taxpayer dollars to a government that includes a terrorist organization?"

David's Tomb holds Catholic Mass Services, Vatican Prayer Session with Abbas and Peres, Shimon Peres legacy. We learn from King David that Going In Peace means the opposite.

bs"d

Many have been extremely worried about the Pope's most recent visit to Israel  and rightfully so.  Rav Simcha Hakohen Kook has been sending alarm bells.  Read Rav Kook's letter co signed with Rav Shteinman and Rav Kanievsky regarding transfer of Kever Dovid Hamelech, King David's Tomb to the Vatican. A letter had been written 22 years prior signed by Rav Eliashiv zt"l and Rav Auerbach zt"l and signed again now by Rav Kook, Rav Shteinman and Rav Kanievsky.

It was hard to figure out the Pope's intent during his recent visit to the Middle East.  Upfront his vision is very romantic.  Camelot.   He  shows equivalent empathy for both the Palestinians and the Jews.  He prayed at the separation wall in empathy and prayer with the Palestinians who are "suffering under Jewish domination" unable to have freedom to commit terror attacks against Israeli civilians and prays as well for the Jewish victims of terror". He didn't seem to be too concerned with the Boko Harem kidnapping of Christian girls.  He calls for a joint prayer that is apolitical. He wishes to unite all faiths under One God in their prayer for Peace.

'Prayer is all-powerful. Let us use it to bring peace to the Middle East and peace to the world,' tweets pope.

That is a beautiful!    Prayer for peace is a good thing.  Who can argue?

However, the pope does not acknowledge Israel's Sovereignty over the Promised Land nor is he bothered with the facts or address the details.  The pope did acknowledge a State of Palestine. That was a political statement in spite of his assurances that this prayer session is apolitical.

President Shimon Peres appealed for peace Sunday afternoon, in a garden of the Vatican City and apparently has faith in the Pope's prayers to bring peace.

Peres said the Bible "commands us to walk the path of peace. It demands of us to toil for its realization." He continued, quoting from the Bible: "Whoever loves life and desires to see good days, let him turn from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it." This, he said, "is a command to pursue peace.

My comments:
We all want to pursue peace.  Peres is mistaken in how he pursues peace.

Maybe we can get some clarity of the difference of going in peace and going toward's peace.  Surely this discussion is very appropriate within the context discussing King David and the pursuit of Peace.

It is pretty clear to Israel that going in peace with the Pope's vision of peace, with a Palestinian state, is going towards death.  Because a State of Palestine is not a State in Peace with Israel but rather a State at War with Israel. If we wish to pursue peace we need to stand strong in defending Israel's Sovereignty over the entire Land of based on G-d's Covenant with our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!!!

The only true to Torah answer to PUG (Palestinian Unity Government) is not to demolish Jewish Homes but to build build and build in Judea and Samaria and to annex Judea and Samaria!!!!

Bullying, Temper Tantrum Tactics and the Peace Process by Sarah Honig FRIDAY, JUNE 6, 2014

...In most individuals such shock and awe antics abate over the years. But not always. When immaturity – irrespective of chronological age – coincides with privilege and a sense of entitlement, it's liable to produce adult petulance and a proclivity for spiteful rants.

This should sound abundantly familiar to anyone who heard of the "nasty" anti-Israel "tirade" by Martin Indyk, US Secretary of State Kerry's chief envoy to the misnamed Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations. According to the Washington Free Beacon, Indyk lost his cool for a full half-hour at the bar of a Ritz Carlton Hotel shortly after delivering an address to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.....

American Taxpayers Now Paying the Salaries of Palestinian Terrorists

Z Street and the IRS By JPOST EDITORIAL 06/05/2014
The Z Street case may be what forces the IRS to pull aside its carefully constructed curtain and reveal how it made decisions regarding organizations deemed out of step with the current US administration.
...Perhaps it was J Street – as posted on its website five years ago, or The New York Times or The Washington Post, which coincidentally posted articles making similar suggestions at the same time – that led the IRS to put organizations that support Jewish life beyond the Green Line on a different, more onerous track when seeking tax-exempt status.

But unless Congress makes that decision by changing the law, the IRS is not permitted to punish any organization for its political views, even organizations such as Z Street that support the "settlers" and which do not believe Israel should negotiate with terrorists.

Israeli Official: Netanyahu Seeking Unilateral Move to Separate From Palestinians
JUNE 6, 2014 10:48 AM

In this Algemeiner article it states:
Netanyahu told Bloomberg View columnist Jeffrey Goldberg last month that "he noted that some Israelis favor disengaging from sections of the West Bank with large Palestinian populations, even if this would mean dismantling Jewish settlements."

My comments.  Actually Netanyahu didn't say he was considering dismantling Jewish Settlement but Jeffrey Goldberg felt that he hinted that he was:  In the article, Jeffrey Goldberg writes that Netanyahu also hinted (emphasis mine. Robin) that he is weighing suggestions from a large number of Israelis that he should consider taking unilateral steps to disengage from sections of the West Bank that are heavily populated by Palestinians, even if this means uprooting Jewish settlements. [Perhaps and hopefully this was conjecture by Jeffrey Goldberg and not what Netanyahu had in mind.  Actually from what Netanyahu actually said it can be argued that he is against dismantling of Jewish Settlements because it was a disaster in the past, Robin's comments]

But he was quick to add that Israelis -- himself included -- don't want a repeat of their Gaza experience. In 2005, then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon unilaterally withdrew Israeli soldiers and settlers from Gaza; it was soon taken over by the radical Islamist group Hamas, which has since used the territory to launch rockets at Israeli civilian targets.

On the other hand actions speaks louder than words and the recent destruction in Maaleh Rechavam prior to MK Livni's trip to England is very worrisome!  If Netanyahu truly does not want to dismantle Jewish Settlements let his actions be consistent with his words!

Let us hope that Netanyahu and the Knesset will annex all of Judea and Samaria and give the Palestinians and all non Jews rights of a Ger Toshav.  This means they need to acknowledge Jewish Sovereignty over the entire Land of Israel and obey the 7 Noahide Laws. They will have full human rights, like the rights to education, health care, earn a living etc.

Dear Robin
On May 14 the Israeli Border Police destroyed the homes of five Jewish families at Ma'ale Rechavam which is a small yishuv in Gush Etzion East.
These fivefamilies have been thrown "into the street", actually a hillside that  has been turned into a waste land

(the video streamed after a delay for a commercial). Amateur footage taken at the time of the expulsion is available at the following Youtube link.

The background to this
violence of the state against its own citizens
is that the day before,
Justice Minister Tzipi Livni  flew to London to participate in diplomatic talks about the failed Oslo process   You can read how she got her diplomatic immunity

Apprehending Settler Youth for handing out bumper stickers is allowable in order to prevent an intifada?????? Former MK Eldad's comments:

Former MK Eldad: Letter to Editor Jewish Press page 75 June 6, 2014 entitled "Implausible Prediction"

"...Some on the pro-Palestinian Israeli left are promoting new legislation to redefine "price tag" vandalism as akin to Palestinian terrorism.  Jewish vandals could then be prosecuted using anti-terrorism measures so severe as to be suited only for cases of extreme danger to the public.

Israel's Basic Law: Human Dignity and Liberty strictly forbids such anti-democratic legislation but has a loophole - paragraph 8 - which makes an exception for legislation "enacted for a proper purpose."

My educated guess, then, is that the unnamed officials who generated this "prediction" [ that Price Tag Vandalism Could Provoke Third Intifada, in brackets, added for clarification] may be seeking to persuade the public that ,say, apprehending youngsters for passing out bumper stickers (which actually occurred here recently) is allowable because there is a purported "proper purpose" [of] preventing an intifada. [!!!].... The reported "prediction" is utterly implausible.

Press Release: re: Sovereignty: Women in Green: Establishment of a forum of government ministers to examine the application of Israeli sovereignty over Gush Etzion

bs"d

Press release:Women in Green and the Forum for the Application of Sovereignty offer their congratulations
on the establishment of a forum of government ministers to examine the application of Israeli sovereignty over Gush Etzion.

Sovereignty over Gush Etzion is the first, and correct, step of facing the reality, toward the goal of applying sovereignty over all of Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley. For now, this is a first step of the establishment of a forum of government ministers, but the very establishment of the forum attests to the progress of the political system, to shaking off the fixation that paralyzed it in recent years and to its openness to political rejuvenation. Along with this, the Israeli government has shown that it is attentive to the mood of the people, that thirsts for a different, Jewish, moral, vision that ensures security - the vision of sovereignty.

The people in Israel sees the feeble response of the United States to the establishment of the Palestinian terror government, and internalizes that now is the time to shake off the dictates of the American administration, to take responsibility for our future, and to present a new political vision.

The government of Israel is capable of being an international beacon and trailblazer, a beacon arousing hope and inspiration, also for all of Europe, that in recent years has found itself dragged along after American policy to the Islamic abyss. Barak Obama's policy is causing the entire West to commit suicide. This policy is driven by faulty and disastrous ideology, and is not an expression of any momentary weakness of the American president. The Europeans are awakening and understand this. Europe will view the act of Israeli sovereignty that curbs Arab "might makes right" as the Israeli finger in the dam against the Muslim flood, and will congratulate, albeit relatively quietly, the Israeli step.
