Fyi Fwd: Fw: Implicit Bias Training - Encore Session. Adult Education for State Employees.

Bsd

Lichvod Rabbonim, Community Leaders and Jewish Media, Shlita

This equity and bias training for State Employees leads us to wonder. What "education" are the public schools and colleges now offering to decent yet clueless and open minded kids?

Please investigate the course material and textbooks etc. as many Orthodox Jews are employed by the State.

Mark Levin on his program exposed that the United States Navy encouraged the Naval officers  to read a book that suggests that White People are racist.

Mark Levin calls for firing of Naval chief: He's pushing a 'racist' book by 'Marxist' Kendi

This G-dless culture seeps into it's environment unless we are proactive.

The only way to stop it is to expose it and denounce it.

Being in denial or burying ones head will allow this evil to gain momentum and strength.

These "values" are reminiscent of the Generation of the Deluge and Sodom and Gomorrah.

Heavens and earth then cleansed society.

Are we waiting for that to happen?

Not to speak is to speak.

The HCR Office of Training & Professional Development (TPD) has partnered with the Office of Diversity & Inclusion Management (ODIM) to host a series of Implicit Bias Training workshops.

The Implicit Bias training is the first of many steps the Agency will take as part of a larger Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative.

This year we look forward to engaging HCR staff with additional training sessions, facilitated workshops, and opportunities for staff to participate in long-term strategic programs that will help ensure we are cultivating an inclusive culture that represents all individuals.

Implicit Bias Training is not mandatory. However, it is encouraged that all staff participate as we move forward in creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. If you have already participated in a previous Implicit Bias Training, please disregard this invite as this is an additional session of the same presentation. However, you are more than welcome to attend again if you choose.

Workshop Description

This class is designed to be interactive, engaging the target audience in a discussion about implicit bias, and the benefits of promoting an environment that is diverse, and a work culture that is inclusive, through the lens of current events. The training seeks to define and it discusses "Bias" as beliefs or attitudes that are activated automatically and without an individual's awareness.

Following the discussion, learners participate in a series of exercises designed to underscore how biases are reinforced daily without us knowing or thinking consciously about it, reflect what we see and hear every day, not what we consciously believe about what we see and hear – making the point that, it is possible for people to hold unconscious stereotypes that they consciously oppose.

Pre Workshop Assignment

Prior to attending the Implicit Bias training, all attendees are encouraged to click here to take an Implicit Association Test (IAT) from a list of possible topics, including but not limited to gender/career, age, weight, religion, and several racial/ethnic categories. These tests are designed to measure implicit attitudes and beliefs associated with the selected topic and results are anonymous.

Technical Requirements

This training is interactive with multiple computer integrated learning components that will require attendees to participate in the training via a laptop or desktop computer with audio capability (audio connectivity can be achieved by calling into the WebEx presentation if you are unable to connect through your computer). Video connection is not required.
