Robin,

History repeats itself.  What we are seeing unfolding all around us in the headlines that emerge daily concerning Ilhan Omar is a modern day re-telling of the Book of Esther.  The names and faces have changed but the "spirit of Haman" lives on.  It's a story told each Purim that every Jewish child can relate to at an early age.

As debate rages over Omar's anti-Semitic remarks; her reported ties to terrorism and her refusal to willingly support Israel as a member of Congress, I'm reminded that the spirit of Haman rages on in today's world.  As in the world of Esther, it's a spirit that above all else hates the Jews.  As in the Bible's recounting of Esther, Haman built a coalition of hatred; military power and religious fervor into a plot to destroy the Jewish people.  He arrogantly took his plot to the very throne of power.

Esther 3:8 tells us: Then Haman said to King Xerxes, "There is a certain people dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your Kingdom who keep themselves separate.  Their customs are different from those of all other peoples, and they do not obey the king's laws. it is not in the king's best interest to tolerate them."

The book of Esther is a story of a jealous, anti-Semitic politician who convinces an entire nation that the Jewish people are not worthy of the King's loyalty.  Haman used the strategy of delegitimization and demonization to try to prove that the object of his hatred didn't deserve to exist.

Haman's forbearers were the ancient enemies of Israel—the Amalekites.  They were the tribe who attacked Israel in the wilderness during their exodus from Egypt.  After the Hebrews defeated Amalek, God proclaimed: Because the Lord has sworn, the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation. Exodus 17:16

The God of Israel is once again at war against Amalek in our generation.

On 9/11, we witnessed the evidence of this age-old struggle of good vs. evil in today's headlines.

We want every American to understand the national impact of the vile poison that the presence of Ilhan Omar's world-view represents in our Congress and to our future and that of our children.  Sanctions and censuring are a "slap on the wrist"—her expulsion and removal from Congress is the only acceptable remedy!

We must keep the pressure on Speaker Pelosi and the Congressional leadership!
ACT today and let your voice be heard!

Your financial support of PJTN enables us to reach millions to demand Omar's removal.

We are on the frontlines and in the headlines making sure your opinion is heard in this matter of national urgency.

I'm reminded of the admonition of Esther 4:14: "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will rise from another place but you and your father's  house will perish. And who knows were you not come to the Kingdom for such a time as this."

THIS IS OUR TIME, AMERICA,  WE MUST NOT REMAIN SILENT…WE ARE HERE FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS.

It's urgent you join us – please sign the petition today!

Blessings,

Laurie
