Lubavitcher Rebbe: Protest falls squarely on the shoulders of the Rabbis

BS"D

I am not the typical Lubavitcher. Yet, I sometimes feel like I am conducting a single women campaign, helped by Shmuel Koenig activist and encouraged or discouraged by fellow activists to entreat the Rabbinic Leaders, and the major religious Jewish Organizations and their media to be more proactive in the fight for Judea and Samaria.  What does amaze me is that their responses or rationalizations of not protesting or taking action was foreseen by the Lubavitch Rebbe and he is the one that is providing answers to them.  It is for this reason I ask that the Print and Radio media create a discussion whereby it is politically correct to question the Silence of our Leaders regarding our entitlement to Judea and Samaria and against a PA/Hamas State.

When we asked Rav Perlow and Rav Shmuel Kamentsky to be more proactive they replied and "Perhaps what we say won't make a difference"  The Rebbe answers that in any case we must protest (see point # 7).  When we asked Yechiel Kalish from Agudah he replied we need first to wait for direction of MKs Litzman in the Agudah party of UTJ.  The Rebbe answers that in point #5. When in 2005 we spoke to Avi Shafran, he said that the Rabbanim feel that it is permissible to give away parts of Eretz Yisroel because of Pikuach Nefesh, the Rebbe answers that in point #2. When we asked Agudah for a meeting with David HaIvri they were busy with Dinners and wanted to push it off.  The Rebbe addresses pushing it off in point #3. When Shmuel Koenig calls the Agudah office this past week and there is a Global March to Jerusalem scheduled for this Friday and Migron is slated to be bulldozed he is told to call back at a later date. Again see point #2 and #3. The Rebbe clearly says that one is not allowed to push off matters related to Pikuach Nefesh. Who am I to argue with them but clearly everyone will agree that the Lubavitch Rebbe zt"l was a Gadol Hador, great in Nigle and Nistar, the revealed Torah and the hidden Torah,  and his words should be taken seriously.

These are points of the Lubavitch Rebbe, zt"l

  1. The current situation in Israel is such that the duty to protest falls squarely on the shoulders of the Rabbis. This obligation falls upon all Rabbis who arbitrate practical matters of Jewish law, and especially those Rabbis who have at one time expressed an opinion on this issue, no matter where they are — whether in Israel or in the Diaspora.
  2. The ruling must be explicit and definitive, being the result of exhaustive consultation withpresent military authorities who have actual firsthand knowledge about these issues, and who express their opinions through purely security-oriented considerations, and not political ones.
In order to save the Rabbis the trouble of researching the issues which are required for a ruling, the Rebbe informs us that he has already investigated the matter, and the conclusions are:
    1. Those involved in military affairs say that surrendering any portion of the West Bank and Gaza, places untold numbers of Jews in danger, G-d forbid.
    2. The past is well known (e.g., Golda Meir not listening to the Israeli Military Intelligence prior to Yom Kippur War).
  3. A ruling must be issued quickly, and a Rabbi must not wait until he is asked about the matter. Rather, he must see to it that the law is publicized everywhere — to the extent that "there will not be a single individual who has not heard of this ruling." This is because regarding these matters, "he who asks (rather than acts) is a spiller of blood, and the one who waits to be asked is contemptible" for not having publicized his opinion.[35]
  4. Similarly, one should publicize the decision of the "Great Assembly" of 1937 [36] which states that "it is forbidden to cede to a non-Jew, even a tiny strip of the Land of Israel." This should be publicised until the entire Jewish people are aware of this ruling.
  5. Every Jew, regardless of where he lives, is connected with every other Jews in the rest of the world. Therefore, according to Jewish law, he must protest any action taken by another Jew which is not in accordance with Jewish Law. Protest is required even if the forbidden action took place a great distance from him — because he is still obligated by the command, "Thou shalt not stand idly by thy brother's blood."
  6. At times the situation is such that there is nothing left to do but to protest. This is a precise indication that our task in this situation is to protest.
  7. The claim that protest will not affect the situation does not absolve any of the Rabbis, no matter where they are, from their obligation to publicize a clear ruling because:
    1. Who knows where we would be if no one were to speak up.
    2. Regarding the mitzvah to admonish one's fellow man, the Talmud says, "even one hundred times," meaning, if one unsuccessfully gave rebuke ninety-nine times, one is bound by Jewish law to engage in rebuke a hundredth time, for it could well be that the hundredth time will be decisive.
    3. The Rabbi must do his job and protest without fear, and without considering the reaction which may follow his ruling (such as being ignored); especially because this is an ongoing matter, which concerns saving Jewish lives.
    4. The obligation not to stand idly by while your brother's blood is being spilled, applies in every situation, even when one is uncertain that his protest will have any effect. Even if the chance that protest will assist is only one thousandth of a chance, or a fraction of that, one is obligated to protest, because this is the law in the Code of Jewish Law.
  8. Even if the majority remain silent, and those protesting are in the minority, nevertheless, the minority is taken into consideration.
  9. The Rabbis who remain silent cause the greatest damage. This is analagous to the Talmudic law concerning seventy Rabbinic judges who rule for or against a certain side, with one judge "abstaining." In such a case, Jewish Law requires the entire trial to be rendered null and void.
  10. The Rebbe's opinion is that were there to be a sustained protest, carried out with the greatest intensity — as the present situation clearly demands — it would eventually succeed, in the near future.

Know your enemy! Stay tuned for the next email which clearly talks about our obligations and especially upon all Rabbis to Protest.

As much as I hate sending this kind of material out we can not be naive as per whom is our enemy and as per whom we are empowering by our Silence.

A Call to action from Rabbanim, also youtube for a better understanding of what is happening in Migron - Animated story youtube with English subtitles

bs"d

Chashuva Rabbanim, amv"sh

This is a letter addressed to Rabbonim, calling the Rabbonim to end the Silence!

Gush Katif happened.  Nobody would have believed that it would happen yet it did happen! Tehillim rallies were conducted after the fact.  Will we be silent now when there is a court order to destroy Migron or will we prevent it from happening? Will we choose  to avoid political backlash and refrain from saying anything that might be considered politically incorrect and then say Tehillim to "share the pain" after the fact chas veshalom?????

This is not just about Migron.  Statements were made by major Jewish Organizations such as Agudah, OU, Young Israel condemning the recent acts of terror in France. Public statements are not uncommon by these major Jewish Orgnaizations.

To my Dear Activist List who Love Eretz Yisroel,

Let us have a strong letter writing, calling campaign to all these major Jewish Organizations and affiliated Rabbanim, and let them know that Am Yisroel would like to hear loud and clear statements coming from these organizations as per our rightful, Biblical and Historical claim to Eretz Yisroel!  We need to stop the millions of tax payers dollars allocated to support UNRWA and protest the acceptance of "Palestine" into UNESCO.  Will we continue to be silent when Temple Mount, Maarat Hamachpela, Kever Rochel, Kever Yosef are transformed into Palestinian cultural sites?  We call on these major Jewish Organizations with influence and membership numbering collectively in the hundreds of thousands not to disappoint us and address the Chillul Hashem blatantly taking place under our very eyes If you are in the Media please print this call to action for major Religious Jewish Organizations in your news publication or radio spots! http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2012/03/press-release-extreme-serious.html

Please watch the following animated youtube. It is very enlightening for understanding the struggle of Migron.  Thanks.

Press Release: Extreme serious developments against Judea and Samaria - Neemanei Eretz Yisroel hold their first conference calling for alternative to Likud

bs"d

Please read the background material of recent disturbing current events (from Mattot Arim) that clearly illuminates the necessity to find an alternative to Likud.

From Mattot Arim:

Extremely serious developments against Judea and Samaria as radical pro-Palestinian Chief High Court  of Justice Judge Beinish struggles to leave "scorched earth" behind her as she retires. Amazingly:

a. the Supreme Court has just rejected the Government of Israel's policy on 50-family neighborhood of Migron and is insisting that the Government raze the entire community, in August. The date is... the 7th anniversary of the Gush Katif expulsion....

b. The Supreme Court also, a few days ago, outlawed the Jewish community's sole method, practically speaking, for buying land in Judea and Samaria. The method just outlawed by the Supreme Court, developed because a contract, if publicized, showing that an Arab had sold you land, was tantamount to sentencing that Arab to barbaric extra-judicial death as reported here:http://www.jpost.com/MiddleEast/Article.aspx?id=188604. Therefore, Jews had to discretely  buy land from the many willing Arab sellers, paying the purchase price but not presenting any sale documents to the land registry so as not to expose the Arab seller in any way. The Jews would then cultivate the land for the 10 years mandated by the (just eradicated) law, and then claim 10-year-squatter's rights, as soon as more than 10 years had elapsed. At that time, the Arab seller would hasten to express in front of cameras and microphones, photogenic rage and shock at the land having been "stolen" from him, so as not to be accused of treasonable sale to Jews; however, since the law supported squatters' rights after 10 years, the Arab's "rage and shock" did not nullify the sale.  It is this method which has now been blocked, using a legal tool called Tzav Shimush Mafria. This criminalizes an entire Jewish community of almost 500,000 persons, who will henceforth, barring new legislative remedies on the part of the Knesset, be incapable of buying desparately needed land in any legal way.

What is needed, as MKs Danny Danon, Zevulon Orlev and Uri Ariel say here:http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/154132  and here: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/154133 is fast-track legislation, Pessach or no Pessach, to modify the laws that the Supreme Court is using, or abusing, in time to save Migron and the Jewish farmers in Judea and Samaria in general.

Please SMS to the above ministers and MKs משה כחלון  M. Cachlon 050-6845584
יולי אדלשטיין  Yuli Edelstein 050-3334298
גלעד ארדן  Gilad Erdan  050-5936500 *
      קרא איוב Ayoub Kara  050-6233617
זאב אלקין  Zeev Elkin 050-4623582;
  ציפי חוטובלי Z. Hutabeli 050-7423350  *
   *  ישראל כץ 050-6233939 Yisrael Katz
(Cachlon, Edelstein, Erdan, Kara, Elkin, Hutabeli, Katz) about this.  The above ministers and MKs are all jostling to be elected as chairpersons of various Likud institutions, after Pessach. It is crucial for us, the public, to create in their minds the impression that the public will support them only if they REALLY WORK on the CENTRAL ISSUES of Yehuda and Shomron. Many ministers and MKs -- too many -- are convinced that if they find some money for a new traffic circle or school, they will get your vote. If so, there's no need for them to work really hard on the difficult, central issues which will really save Judea and Samaria, is there?  And they don't. We need to change this. So the SMS we recommend sending to the above addresses, specifically to the candidates who will need votes in a few weeks, is this (Hebrew and English versions):

כמועמד לראשות מוסדות הליכוד, אבקש שתפעל יום ולילה לקידום החוק להסדרת המאחזים ולביטול הצו נגד החקלאים!!
or, in English: PLS GET MAACHAZIM LAW VOTED ON IN KNESSET BEFORE PESSACH & NEUTRALIZE DRACONIAN TZAV SHIMUSH MAFRIA!

Thank you very much. Your actions are  helping Israel stay away from the 67 borders. Please pass this on.

The Eretz Yisroel Conference: An Unprecedented assault on Our Land Israel! The pro Palestinian Supreme Court is the heart of the nation's cancer

More than five hundred delegates to the Conference of the Land of Israel from all over the country, gathered Monday night at the ZOA House in Tel Aviv, to the first gathering of the Eretz Yisroel Movement and saluted their Representative in the Knesset MK Dr. Michael Ben-Ari. Among the decisions of the conference was to hold primaries among all the Land of Israel Faithful and open negotiations of forming a coalition of  Land of Israel Faithfuls for the upcoming elections as an alternative to Likud. Following the Court's decision to destroy Migron, leaders attacked the Chief Justice Grunis and declared that this Supreme Court was the cancer in the heart of the Nation. The MC of the evening was Shai Gefen.

Michael Ben Ari, who opened the conference said that the majority justices in the Supreme Court were members of a private closed and racist junta which discriminates between "blood and blood and judgement and judgement". The enlightened  judges of the Supreme Court  do not enforce the law in Rahat, they do not enforce the law in Umm al-Fahm , but are mighty to enforce it against the heroes of Migron.

In points raised,  Ben-Ari called for the residents of Migron to stop negotiations with the government.  He called upon Migron to stop being naive.  He compared the Land of Israel to our mother and one does not make compromises regarding their mother. He impressed upon the delegates the need to  confront the essence of the struggle. In  reference to the political situation in the right camp, Ben Ari  calls for unity in the Orange camp and emphasized that it is very important that all streams go together.  He added that it is no secret that most in the orange camp supports uncompromising struggle and steadfastness on principles.  Even if there are differences between the political parties Bayit Yehudi and Ichud Leumi, most people support the position of no compromise regarding the uprooting of settlements.  He said that the public wants us to connect to the  people, and that we must fight illegal infiltrators, fight our enemies in the Knesset and fight unfair judges such as Grunis, Beinisch, and Gibran. If there is a disagreement he proposed to hold primaries that will decide once and for all what the national camp wants.

Ben Ari suggested that the movement be an alternative to the Likud, and not merely another sectarian movement or the protest of a faction.  "We held the conference in Tel Aviv, not only because I was born there, but because whomever gives away Migron for being "occupied territory", .tomorrow will give away Tel Aviv which was built on Sheikh Munis.

. Leaders of Eretz Yisroel Shalanu, Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpo and Baruch
Marzel, attacked the High Court in harsh terms. Rabbi Wolpo attacked the Chief Justice and Supreme Court decision regarding Migron, stating that "the Supreme Court is the cancer in the heart of the nation." Rabbi Wolpo called on all parties to resign from the Netanyahu government so as not to give a hand to the destruction of Migron - Decisions of the High Court and Netanyahu government will lead to civil war and to this we do not join hands! Rabbi Wolpo called on all the Land of Israel Faithful Movement supporters to unite under the clear message of loyalty to Israel

Baruch Marzel, also attacked the Supreme Court and said: I warned in
advance, Grunis and Beinisch are both not Kosher and are more dangerous than Iran, as they are destroying us from within.

MK Aryeh Eldad honored the convention with his presence.  He said especially in light of recent calls for the establishment of another religious party for the Nationalist camp,  here in this conference, there is a call to unite all true nationalists of the Land of Israel, the patriots who believe that the Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel! Eldad also called to hold primaries for the Right camp as an alternative to the Likud.

Rabbi Israel Ariel said that the public message should be made very clear that the Land of Israel only belongs to Israel.
Prof. Israel Hanukoglu was Netanyahu's adviser, called for everyone to
unite around the leadership of Michael Ben Ari, and lead to the Land of Israel Faithful to our victory.
The Conference was addressed by many delegates from across the country.
Among the decisions made at the conference was to prepare for elections to the Knesset,  to open negotiations with representatives of the various parties to form a joint list, while calling for early elections
During the conference there were blessings of Rabbi Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba and Rabbi Yaakov Yosef.

Home singer Ariel Zilber jazzed the crowd and swept the conference delegates.
