Fwd: Tamar Adelstein of Shleimus HaAretz on the Attack- please pass on her post

bs"d

Righteous women see things so clearly.  Bizchut Nashim Tzidkaniyot..... Read what Tamar Adlestein has to say and let us hope that our prayers on Yom Kippur are not merely lip service and Hashem will answer our prayers since without Hashem's help we are just not getting it.  Please fwd Tamar's post. Hopefully her arrows of rebuke will penetrate our hearts.

Circumcise our hearts to love and revere Your name as it is written, Hashem, your G-d will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring to love Hashem your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul so that you may live.  Bring back our captivity and have mercy on us as it is written, Hashem your G-d will bring back your captivity and He will have mercy upon you and He will once again gather you in from all the peoples that Hashem your G-d scattered you thereto...

Dear Editor,

If the situation weren't so serious, we might find ourselves chuckling over the incongruities conveyed by Prime Minister Netanyahu in his speech last week at the UN. Unfortunately, though, his joke is hardly the stuff of some fun night out at a Tel Aviv comedy club.  Like the foolish Jewish politicians who've come before him and the other misguided name-seekers on the peace trail, Mr. Netanyahu's jesting poses a real threat to the welfare and security of Jews living in Eretz Yisroel; all of which leaves us with a sense of urgency to respond and unmask the perils he and his cronies have placed us in.

To begin with, it seems Prime Minister Netanyahu is rather fond of recalling his special encounters with the Lubavitcher Rebbe from many years before when he was the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations.  Back then the Rebbe sought to inspire him to stand up for the Jewish People, demonstrating that even the glow of a tiny candle that flickers truth can shed its light on the darkest and most deceptive kinds of places.

No doubt this and other interactions Mr. Netanyahu merited with the Rebbe left an indelible mark on the man that, G-d Willing, in the very near future we will see become tangibly real; but, for now we are certain that the Rebbe never intended the Torah's flaming truth to be twisted into enlightening the Arabs or the "powers that be" at the UN that "peace" with Israel can be theirs for the taking; meaning taking the Land of Israel piece by piece as long as they mutter for the media those magical words that Israel is the Jewish State.

We find this co-opting of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in order to put a legitimate spin on what are wrong and dangerous ideas to be downright shameful and disingenuous.

So, too, with Mr. Netanyahu's repetitious whining at the World that "they" ought to acknowledge Israel's gestures for peace (better labeled stupid mistakes) he and his predecessors have been making since the founding of the State and, in particular, the Six Day War.  His use of the Holocaust in an attempt to justify Israel's right to feel safe while at the same time announcing his intention to give away the very places in Eretz Yisroel that ensure Jews' security is utterly hypocritical and demeaning to both  martyrs and survivors of the Shoah.

When will Israeli leaders get it?!  No head of state nor commoner is ever going to respect the fool who offers up his country's heartland, northern and southern frontiers, oil reserves, and capitol city for the few fleeting trade or travel perks -- which, in any event, appear to have enriched only the very wealthy and well-connected at home or the economies of Israel's nearby neighbors..

Honestly does Mr. Netanyahu really believe that by repeating over and over again, with a pointed finger no less, how his government uprooted thousands of Jews from their homes, pulled little kids out of their kindergartens, bulldozed Jewish houses of worship, and dug up the graves of Gush Katif's Jewish dead (not to mention destroying both the livelihoods and solid family structure of those who lived there) is going to garner non-Jewish sympathy?  There may be some truth to the saying "a Goyishe kop" but Goyim aren't that dumb!  The UN audience and media know very well that that was no "bold act of peace".

We ask readers to take an honest look at the news emanating out of Eretz Yisroel these past few months, if not the past year:   the bus-bombing in Yerushalayim, the terrorist-fueled fires, and the increase in assaults on Jews driving Israel's roads and, r"l,  the fatalities.  Then there are Israel's Arab Spring neighbors who have unabashedly unmasked their hostility formerly held in check by their conniving former dictators who did so only because of political and financial gains to be had from the US and European Union.  Finally, Israel's best friends in the White House gave a final blow when it was announced that they will never agree to release Jonathan Pollard from prison, r"l.

The Israeli government's response can be best summed up with the following two stories:   A mere two weeks ago a family in Yerushalayim came under attack by a group of concrete-wielding Arab men who pounded them in full view of  Israeli Border Police who refused to come to their rescue. Their excuse was that orders from the higher ups are such that police and soldiers may only intervene when there is a clear and immediate threat to life.

At the same time, seam-line communities along Israel's Green Line have had their civilian patrols bolstered with updated equipment, training, and fence repairs in anticipation of new violence expected from the outcome and rhetoric over the Arab declarations for a Palestinian state.  Simultaneously, in Yehuda and Shomron, Israel's Defense Minister ran an early morning surprise destroying raid on the small community called Migron in the midst of readying these "obstacles to peace" to absorb thousands of  Jewish refugees in the event of war, G-d Forbid!  Simultaneously, all the hullabaloo about building new housing in Yerushalayim has yet to materialize in real facts on the ground compelling hundreds of Jews in need of housing to look elsewhere to live.

It's bad enough that the secular media spends it time focusing on the self-destructive ideas of a few tragically misguided but dangerous individuals but  how do the so-called Chareidi journalists and news writers excuse their "trembling" doomsday news reports that fly in the face of  Halacha and its spirit?  Too often it seems these writers are more interested in describing the ins and outs of polite diplomacy rather than reporting on the straightforward solutions found in Shulchan Orech on self-preservation.  Why do they choose to repeatedly warn their readers against considering that Israel might solve its security concerns by simply annexing Yehuda and Shomron?  For example, A. Pe'er, HaModia's military correspondent and a veteran journalist writes :  The Israeli government "wouldn't do that because it's not in its best interests; it would be a slap in the face to the United States, after all it's done for Israel in the past month: and worse, it will undoubtedly invite another Intifada that the World would justify."   What is this?! -- a confidence-building measure for the other side?

But let us go back, for more than just a moment, to the Lubavticher Rebbe, the Nasi HaDor, whose truth and wisdom is the guiding light to finding our way through these dangerous and confusing times.  Who more than the Rebbe wrote, spoke, and advised both Jewish leaders and laymen on the welfare and security of Jews in Eretz Yisroel?

First and foremost, the Rebbe emphasized that Eretz Yisroel is the Jewish People's eternal heritage, collectively and individually and, that  no one person or group, Jewish or not, has authority to give away any portion of it to Gentiles.  Rather than letting the nonsense called land for peace drive us from our homeland and each other, the Rebbe asked us to come together, b'achdus and b'ahava,  in unity and love with the reassuring belief that this is what will bring us HaShem's greatest blessings for true peace.

Secondly, the Lubavticher Rebbe stressed that Pikuach Nefesh, preserving Jewish life, must always override any and all diplomatic considerations. We must insist again and again that the Israeli government make this its number one priority in full accordance with every detail and nuance found in Jewish Law on the topic.  Moreover, by placing our trust in the truth of Halacha, we demonstrate our trust in HaShem to ward off our enemies evil plans and intentions.

It goes against Halacha and obscene to order soldiers to specifically hold their fire when Jews come under attack from rock throwers.  It goes against Halacha to raise the specter of negotiations and to repeatedly invite avowed enemies and so-called intermediaries to the table promising to give away Jewish territory, let alone actually doing it!  This actions deliberately undermine Jews' security in Eretz Yisroel and impact negatively on the safety of Jews in Chutz La'Aretz.

Furthermore, it is misleading and an outright lie for the Israeli government to tell Jews it would never agree to go back to the pre Six Day War borders when, in fact, that is exactly what its policy makers have been doing in piecemeal increments beginning just days after miraculously winning and liberating the Sinai Dessert, YESHA, Yerushalayim, and the Golan in 1967.

And, finally, it is a national embarrassment, ah shonda, every time Mr. Netanyahu announces  his intention to continue keeping open checkpoints and roadblocks along Arab/Israeli intersections or that he will keep delivering goods and services to Gaza as goodwill gestures when Jews suffer greatly as a consequence and Gilad Shalit remains a captive.

Thirdly, the Lubavticher Rebbe said over and over again that settlement is the only solution to the Arab Israeli conflict explaining with simple logic that when we will show the Arabs we are serious about living in all parts of Eretz Yisroel only then will they understand that we mean it when we say we are here to stay.   Yes, now it's an overwhelmingly huge mess because of the Israeli government's failed policies but that doesn't mean that facts on the ground must remain as they are.  We challenge the decision makers in Israel's government to try a different tactic and begin implementing the Lubavitcher Rebbe's "peace plan" instead.

Moreover, let us do so with the confidence that comes from thinking good and it will be good as the Rebbe advised so many times to do.  No politician, organization, or reporter has the right to instill fear and hopelessness among the Jewish People.  The noisy rhetoric and threats coming from the Arabs and world leaders are nothing more than, as the Rebbe once described, the sound of a leaf being driven by the wind here and there.

It will be in our best interests and theirs' to ground that sound, the Rebbe insisted, by instilling knowledge of the Sheva Mitzvos B'nei Noach in their minds and hearts.  This will offer the Arabs much more hope for a brighter future than what they have now:  a violence based culture that honors torture and death instead of one that embraces life and goodness and kindness.

Finally let our renewed commitment to the Rebbe's campaigns for Torah, Tefillah, and Tzedaka, MiHu Yehudi, a Mezuzah on every door, Tefillin, and a Jewish education for every Jewish child be the harbinger that heralds in the New Year with true peace and security.

Sincerely,

From Mattot Arim:

Update re Netanyahu mini-deportation plan to uproot entire Yesha communities (Migron, Givat Assaf, Bet-El's Ulpana neighborhood & more):

About the mini-deportation plan: Important progress has been made: due to excellent strong leadership by Minister Limor Livnat and others (see links in above Hebrew section), all senior members of government are now fully apprised and aware of the above extremely grave situation http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/Flash.aspx/221897. However, this does not yet constitute a SOLUTION. Onthe contrary - we are in a very dangerous stage wherein senior officers in the army or police whose political views happen to tend to the left, are fully legally entitled to raze entire communities, e.g. as above, essentially at any time, in view of the existence of the mini-deportation plan (Hebrew: mini-gerush).

To solve this URGENT problem, kindly contact the ministers. For example, e-mail (it would be even better to communicate the same message by phone):

"Dear ministers, the Hebrew press in Israel has been covering a new plan to raze entire Yesha communities. This is horrible, and Gush Katif was more than enough. Can you URGENTLY contact PM Netanyahu and ask him to give clear instructions to the army and police, today, NOT to act on this plan until the alternatives recently presented to the prime minister, have been reviewed.  I ask this because I understand that razing these communities is NOT the only possible legal solution. Obviously this understanding needs to be conveyed to the army and police IMMEDIATELY by the Prime Minister himself -- to prevent totally un-necessary deportation of young families. Thank you for taking immediate action to make absolutely sure this happens TODAY, (NAME)".

Attacks From Without and Within:

1. Arabs Harvesting in Itamar: We Will Turn You Into Fogels
by Chana Ya'ar Itamar Protests Arab Harvest in Security Zone

Itamar residents were shocked to see local arabs, some from the Awwad family that brutally murdered five members of the Fogel family, entering the confines of the communityf's security zone barely half a year after the Friday night massacre.

The PA village of Awarta's residents were allowed in to harvest olives by Israeli Civil Administration but the Shomron (Samaria) Residents Committee reports that they threw rocks at Itamar residents, yelling "We will turn you into Fogel's", while drawing fingers across their throats to emphasize the threat.

Last year, Hakim Awwad, one of the murderers, used the harvest as a means of gathering intelligence about the towns homes and residents.

Itamar residents are protesting furiously and young Tamar Fogel, now the oldest surviving member of her family, has joined them.

Benny Katsover, head of the Shomron Residents' Committee, had harsh words for the civil administration decision: "There is no limit to the insensitivity and irresponsibility of the civil administration. We thought that even the blatant one-sidedness of the Civil Administration has limits, but once again it has given in to radical left views, at the risk of endangering Jewish lives."

Brigadier-General (res.) Rabbi Avichai Ronsky, head of the Itamar Hesder Yeshiva, former IDF Chief Rabbi and once head of the IDF Shomron Brigade, reacted sharply: "Half a year after the murder, the blood still bubbling and the community still tending its bleeding wounds, allowing residents of Awarta, the home of the murderers of the Fogel and Shabo families, into our community – is an irresponsible travesty!"

Gershon Mesika, Head of the Shomron Regional Council contacted the commanding ranks of the IDF and Knesset Members in order to stop the murderess clan's harvest: "It is an outrage that cries out to Heaven. A year ago, exactly, I warned the army Civil Administration that terrorists can use the olive harvest as an opportunity to collect intelligence before attacking. In spite of all my warnings, hundreds of Arabs from the village Awarta were allowed into Itamar to harvest the olives and we all know the tragic results.  I would expect that this year there would be some logic employed."

A PA Arab has been lightly injured after being hit by a rock. He was treated by an IDF soldier at the scene.  The circumstances surrounding the attack are not yet clear, sources said.

Last March, Tamar Fogel, 12 years old at the time, arrived home at midnight after a Sabbath youth activity to discover that both her parents, her 3-month-old baby sister and two brothers, ages 11 and 4, had been stabbed to death and had their throats slashed. Court documents showed that one of the two Arab terrorists held down the children for slaughter, and shot the mother after the other terrorist stabbed her.

The two cousins, Amjad Awad, 19 and Hakim Awad, 18 (17 at the time of the murder), were residents of the neighboring PA Arab village of Awarta. Both expressed pride and no remorse for the crime during the trial. They were sentenced to five consecutive life sentences plus five years in prison, a total of 130 years behind bars.

The Israeli government has pointed out repeatedly that murders like the Fogel massacre in Itamar, while not known to have been directed by a specific terrorist organization, are incited by the Palestinian Authority's constant, incessant stream of media invective.

"Incitement against Israel, which frequently turns into genuine anti-Semitic incitement, is an inseparable part of the fabric of life in the Palestinian Authority," Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu pointed out at the time of the murders.

2. Ketzaleh to File Police Complaint Over Army Radio 'Blood Libel'
by David Lev Ketzaleh to FileComplaint Over Radio 'Blood Libel'

National Union chairman MK Ya'akov Katz (Ketzaleh) on Sunday railed against IDF Army Radio for what he called a "blood libel" several of the station's talk show hosts had leveled against the Hesder Yeshiva in Yafo (Jaffa).

The comments by Niv Raskin and former soccer player Jimmy Turk came in the wake of several acts of vandalism in Christian and Muslim cemeteries. Graffiti was scrawled on tombstones, and comments denigrating Arabs were discovered. Police said that they were not sure when the graffiti was scrawled, and they have no suspects. While they have not ruled out the possibility that the vandalism was committed by groups espousing anti-Arab "price tag" attacks, they said it was just as likely – perhaps even more likely, based on the evidence at the scene – that the graffiti was scrawled by local teenage hoodlums.

However, Raskin and Turk apparently have all the evidence they need to try and convict Yeshiva students in Yafo, says Ketzaleh. "The organized blood libel against the Jews of Jaffa reached new lows Sunday when Raskin and Turk went on for a very lengthy time on how the incident was the fault, if not the actual acts, of the IDF officers and students in the Yafo Hesder Yeshiva."

Even worse, said Ketzaleh, officials were looking for ways to pin the vandalism on Jews living in Judea and Samaria – despite the fact that there were more than enough local suspects who are not members of the National Religious community, and who are not even Jewish. "One of the former Shabak officials interviewed on the program took great pains to point out that 'not all religious Jews are settlers' – meaning that the 700,000 Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria were the chief suspects."

Ketzaleh said he planned to file a complaint with police against Raskin and Turk over their incitement against the Yeshiva students. "We, on the other hand, are absolutely positive that the vandalism was committed by radical leftists, or Arabs working on their behalf, in an attempt to make the Jews look bad. The Jewish people endured thousands of years of pogroms that regularly took place when the body of a kidnapped Christian child was discovered dead on Jewish property, allegedly for use of his blood for Passover matzos," said Ketzaleh.

"It's a shame that Raskin and Turk don't realize that Jews would never desecrate a cemetery, or burn down a mosque," Ketzaleh said. Regarding the latter, he added that "in a few days the young Jewish man from the Galilee who was arrested for the arson at the Tuba Zangriya mosque will be released, proving that the agitation against Jews in that instance was also a blood libel."

3. Woman in Labor Survives PA Lynch Attempt
by Maayana Miskin Woman in Labor Survives PA Lynch Attempt

Palestinian Authority terrorists continued their attacks on innocent Jewish motorists over Yom Kippur, this time attacking a woman in labor and her husband as they rushed to the hospital. The husband, Ariel Goldman of Pnei Kedem, told Arutz Sheva that the two were lucky to escape with their lives.

Their ordeal began near Har Homa at 2:30 a.m., as they drove to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem. Suddenly, they encountered a point in the road that had been blocked by large stones.

As Goldman slowed the car, looking for a way around the trap, several Palestinian Authority terrorists jumped out and began to hurl rocks at the car.

The attack turned into a game of cat and mouse, as Goldman looked for ways around the rocks and tried to keep moving, while the terrorists followed the car and continued to pelt it with heavy stones, using a tactic that recently resulted in two deaths near Hevron.

The terrorists "had murder in their eyes," Goldman said.

He finally managed to pass the stone barrier and speed away from the group of attackers, only to encounter a second group that attempted to stone the car near the Jerusalem neighborhood of Talpiot. Goldman managed to speed away a second time.

A policewoman he later encountered appeared uninterested by his story, but promised to notify her superiors, he said.

Ariel Goldman and his wife managed to reach the hospital, where she gave birth to a baby boy. Both the baby and mother are in good condition.

4. Firebomb Attack on Yafo Synagogue
by Maayana Miskin Firebomb Attack on Yafo Synagogue

Attackers set fire to a synagogue in Yafo on Saturday night. The building suffered light damage.

The attack came hours after reports of vandalism in local Christian and Muslim cemeteries. The vandals painted slogans including, "Price tag," and "death to Arabs."

Also on Saturday evening, Arab residents of Yafo took to the streets to protest the desecration.

Several public figures have condemned the cemetery vandalism, including President Shimon Peres, who said Saturday, "The desecration of tombstones is a wicked act that brings dishonor on us, and stands in opposition to the values on which Israeli society is based."

A synagogue in Jerusalem was burnt by unidentified attackers three weeks ago. The study hall was destroyed.

5. Video Proves Police, IDF Covered Up Palmers' Murder
by Gil Ronen Video Proves Palmer Murder Cover-Up

Video shot by the Hatzala Judea and Samaria emergency services organization and published Friday morning indicates clearly that security forces had to know Asher Palmer and baby Yehonatan were murdered, and were not the victims of a road accident.

The video was published by the organization on its Facebook page, after the terror cell that murdered the Palmers was arrested.

It shows rocks scattered on the road near the scene of the crash on Route 60. The car's windshield – a special windshield that is relatively rock-proof – is badly broken but intact overall except for one spot where a rock made a clean cut through it – right above the steering wheel.

The cameraman then spots the rock itself inside the car – its profile is elongated and with straight sides, just like the hole it punched through the rock-proofed glass. The cameraman can be heard shouting: "Look at the rock! Are you guys crazy? Look at the rock inside the car!"

Nationalists accused security forces of intentionally lying to the press and saying that the event was an accident, so as not to cause Jewish protests and possible violence on the day in which Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas addressed the United Nations. Another possibility, though much less likely, is that security forces wanted the terrorists to think that they were safe, so as to cause them let down their guard and make their capture easier.

7. Chol Hamoed Sukkot in Efrat: Onward to Eitam Hill!
by Chana Ya'ar Sukkot in Efrat: Onward to Eitam Hill!

Area residents and the Women in Green will redouble efforts to settle the Eitam Hill section of Efrat during Chol Hamoed Sukkot.

Eitam Hill is the northernmost hill within the municipal jurisdiction of the Efrat Local Council.

In 2008-2009, council heads and residents, in cooperation with Women in Green and action committees waged a stubborn battle that led to the proclamation of 1700 dunams as state lands. The land was designated for construction of 2500 housing units, to be located on the hill.

Residents of Efrat and their supporters plan to go up to the site to pray the Shacharit morning service, departing at 8:00 a.m. from the Eitam gate in the Zayit neighborhood of Efrat, after the Orot Etzion Girls School. A shuttle van will also depart from Kiryat Arba-Hevron at 7:45 a.m. and from the Gush Etzion Junction (Tzomet HaGush) at 8:00 a.m. A sukkah will be built on the hill.

Prayers, including a musical Hallel with David Litke and Steve Rodan ("bring your instruments!") are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by refreshments at 9:45 a.m. and greetings at 10:00 a.m. by Efrat Chief Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Rabbi Shimon Golan and Efrat Mayor Oded Revivi. A festive Simchat Beit HaSho'eva celebration will follow with music by Bentzi Thee and Avi Shmell of the MiShir Tzion Band. There will be inflatables for the children.

The event will also serve as a launch for a weekly campaign to demand settlement of the hill.

Eitam is mentioned in Jewish sources as a city in the portion of Judah, close to Solomon's Pools. It was also once considered as a possible location for the building of the Holy Temple, according to the Talmud. Ultimately, the decision was made to build the Temple in Jerusalem.

The "Aqueduct extended from Eitam," notes the Jerusalem Talmud in Yoma 3:8, because "the Eitam well was twenty-three cubits above the ground of the Temple Court (Babylonian Talmud, Yoma 31a), and "the water flowed to Jerusalem by the force of gravity."

The Committee for the Development of Eitan currently in formation includes rabbis, members of the Efrat Local Council and Land of Israel activists from Kiryat Arba-Hevron, Women in Green, and the Efrat and Gush Etzion Action Committees.

"With G-d's help, and with much perseverance, humility, and faith in the rightness of our way, it will be possible to build on Eitam, so that our children will be able to build their future on the Eitam Hill that overlooks Jerusalem," said the committee in a statement.

For further information about the event, interested readers are asked to call 050-716-1818 or 050-550-0834.

bs"d More on Honenu.

bs"d

Honenu (www.honenu.org) is a legal defense organization operating in Israel. We provide legal assistance to approximately 1000 arrestees a year. Soldiers and civilians who find themselves in legal hassles due to defending themselves against Arab aggression or due to their love and commitment to Israel and the Jewish people. They have an organization that will come to their aid 24 hours a day to make sure that they receive a fair judicial process. In the Arab-Jewish conflict in Israel there are over a dozen foreign funded organizations helping our enemies. We are the only legal defense organization helping our own people. Our website has more information.

Shalom Pollack ( http://honenu.org/shalom-pollack/  ) will be available for presentation and private meetings on behalf of Honenu from Nov 8 -28 in the Greater NY area. He will also be in LA from Nov 20 -22. Please contact him shalompo@yahoo.com for further details of it you can suggest a venue for a presentation.

Attached is a letter of recommendation from Rabbi Lieberman and Rabbi Ari Azencot of the Beth Shalom Syrian Congregation in Brooklyn. Additional important recommendations may be viewed on our site ( http://honenu.org/contact-us/references/)

Below is Rabbi Prozansky's letter.

To Whom it may concern:

We were fortunate to host Shalom Pollack on behalf of Honenu at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck, New Jersey. The stories he tells are shocking but true, and the need to disseminate this information to the broader Jewish community is vital. Too many Jewish lives have been lost through timidity and the fear of bad press. Honenu is Israel's leader in providing legal protection and assistance to Jews who have defended themselves or their property against Arab marauders, and who have been prosecuted for their acts of self-defense.

I urge all to invite Honenu's representatives to hear these stories, and together we can secure Jewish lives and the Jewish future in the land of Israel.

With blessings for a peaceful year,

Rabbi Steven Pruzansky
Congregation Bnai Yeshurun, Teaneck, New Jersey

Thank you for all your help.

Shana tova,

Please let me know if your shul or any  shul or organization  wishes to join and co-sponsor an event for Honenu in Brooklyn, NY in November. Feel free to pass along this email.  Also let me know by sending an email to faigerayzel@gmail.com if you are willing to promote or be involved in planning the event. We welcome all input and your participation.  (It's a great way for singles to meet and activists to network.)

Let me know if you or your Rav is willing to make a public joint statement of Rabbanim claiming legitimate Jewish entitlement of Judea and Samaria based on the Torah and  in favor of Jewish/Israeli Law in Judea and Samaria and opposed to a Palestinian State Chas Veshalom.

Let us end the Silence, admit our grave mistakes like Oslo and the Disengagement from Gush Katif, condemn the brutality of Amona and Migron, regret our mistake of allowing expulsions to happen and now collectively doing what we can to stop and take further expulsions. Let us take it upon ourselves not to allow it to happen again.

Before Yom Kippur 5772 let us do Teshuva and may Hashem bless us with a Gmar Chatima Tova..

As I see it, supporting Honenu is fulfilling the Mitzva of "Al Taamod Al Dam Reiacha" and a Pikuach Nefesh matter for hundreds of thousands of Jews in Judea and Samaria. Thanks. Watch the video on their website.  Robin

Fwd: NCJA: COLUMBIA U ANTI-ISRAEL EVENT TO FEATURE HATE RAPPER - October 14-16

bs"d

To the Press:

Please publicize the kind of programming that finds a welcoming haven in Columbia University.  I usually would refrain from sending  such vulgarity to my email list but in order to stop it, one must expose it first. Hopefully people will be outraged, especially those who support Columbia University financially and voice their opposition.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke

Welcome at Columbia University, the lowest of the low. DISGUSTING in advance of of Israel Apartheid Week.

To my list: please publicize that this hate rapper is welcome in what I once considered was a top University and the alma mata of a close family member and voice your complaints to

The National Conference on Jewish Affairs

NCJA ACTION ALERT: Columbia U Event to Feature Hate Rapper -- October 14-16 Event

BACKGROUND:
On the weekend of October 14-16, 2011,  "Students for Justice in Palestine" (SJP), which unfortunately has chapters at dozens of major American universities, will be holding a three-day event at Columbia University to train students from across the nation in advance of the upcoming "Israel Apartheid Week."
http://sjpnational.org/program-2/

ACTIONS:
1. All Americans, and especially Columbia alumni constantly urged to support the university financially, should inquire why Columbia is allowing this SJP group to feature "Immortal Technique", a rapper who extols and incites violence and criminality, spews brutal anti-American vitriol, and is a condemner of Israel,  a distorter of 9/11 facts, a supporter of death row cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal, and a fan of the Nation of Islam, among other repellant views. Ask President Bollinger and the Board of Columbia to view these videos and decide if they are proud of having their university associated with the kind of promotion of violence, hate, and disgusting rhetoric we see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Igt-jW4e8ts

2. Tell Bollinger and the Board that they are turning Columbia, a university once known for its rigor and academic excellence, into one that instead is gaining the reputation of sell-out to ugly hatred and flaccid standards.

3. Further, the SJP event, NCJA believes, violates Columbia University's own code of "Civil Behavior and Community Standards":

http://www.gs.columbia.edu/academic-integrity-and-community-standards

"It is expected that in and out of the classroom, on and off campus, each student in the School of General Studies will act in an honest way and will respect the rights of others. Freedom of expression is an essential part of University life, but it does not include intimidation, threats of violence, or the inducement of others to engage in violence or in conduct which harasses others. Conduct which threatens or harasses others because of their race, sex, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or for any other reason is unacceptable and will be dealt with very severely. For all to benefit from the diversity to be found at Columbia, all must live up to these standards."

NCJA believes that even publicizing that a featured guest such as "Immortal Technique" will appear at an event at Columbia University can be perceived as intimidating to Jewish and other students, and his presence could induce others to engage in violence or incite conduct that threatens or harms others.

Of course, we will not be surprised if we hear from President Bollinger and the Board that this is just a "student group" and the university is "not involved" and that this is "the free expression of ideas," "intellectual freedom" or even "art".  But we can no longer accept these excuses for what appears to be pure hate and efforts to intimidate pro-Israel Jewish students and others who do not agree with SJP's views.  We need to know if Columbia University is providing any financial or other support to SJP and this event, including providing the building in which Immortal Technique is performing.
