News Fit to Print: Fwd:Excellent Shabbat reading TZC-Newsletter-Oct-29-2010-PDF-Format Parshat Chayei Sarah

bs"d

Dear List:  amv"sh

This and all my posts can be read and searched on Shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com a blog documenting Activism for Judea and Samaria since the 2005 expulsion from Gush Katif.  if you are reading my blog and wish to read the TZC newsletter the attachment  does not appear on my blog, You can email tzc@torzc.org and ask them for it or better yet ask to subscribe.  Alternatively you can Google all the articles individually.  Caroline Glick is a regular though not in this issue.

Briefly the table of contents include:

If you are getting this via email including the attachment, print several copies  of the attached newsletter of the Toronto Zionist Council  News Reports and Commentary about Israel and the Jewish World and  bring to shul for the benefit of those who don't get this perspective from their Jewish media sources .

To my CC: list of Print Media above. please use such sources as this newsletter and reprint, with permission of course, in your newspaper or discuss them on your talk radio program.  Others examples of excellent news include Meg Whitman's interview or the article by Steve Collins for positive Jewish journalism.

While the rest of the world gets their information from sources busy delegitimizing Israel and deligitimizing our entitlement to the Land of Israel, presenting the Palestinians as the victims of our occupation e.g. Leslie Stahl of 60 minutes with purposeful and distasteful distortion of Ir David in East Jerusalem, ignoring historical and archeological facts  in an interview with Doron Spielman and NPR firing Juan Williams for being "uneasy around Muslims" and CNN, Reuters and the Times use of material that is known as Paliwood (film that is staged and edited in order to produce and present a desired perception which presents terrorists and terrorism in a positive light), and UN resolutions that equates Zionism as racism and choose the greatest violators of human rights to head such commissions, even Facebook has a policy against allowing violence or hate-speech on their site... except if it is against Israel. http://www.aish.com/v/93393689.html (and a Jew runs it ) we depend on our Jewish media to present the true reality.

Let us use Torah as a model for reporting, unadulterated history.  It will stand the test of time with historical evidence and archeological proof  supporting  each other with  consistency, accuracy and objectivity.

Please read what Steve Collins has to say.  This is a fascinating link and I mean really fascinating article!  I have yet to read an article that so blew my mind.  I suggest you print it out and read it all on a restful Shabbos afternoon!  It discusses the Kingdom of Solomon and how his fleets partnered with other Nations, expert in navigation and commerce,  encircled the world reaching the New World, centuries before Christopher Columbus and Ancient Hebrew Inscription of the Ten Commandments dating to Solomon Era in New Mexico and the Americas.

We see time and time again that the other side will try in every possible way to delete the Bible from the picture.

The Torah can be relied upon to be truthful and honest.  The Torah doesn't whitewash the reality and states the facts as it happens truthfully.  When the righteous sin it is recorded with a truthful honesty and accuracy of what happened. The Torah doesn't  hide the facts to protect Jews,  in order to make them look good.  When Jews act against G-d's will it is recorded with honesty.  There is no distortion of the facts and what is written in the Torah can be supported by archeology and historical evidence.

History on the other hand is written by man and can not be trusted since facts are routinely omitted or presented in a distorted version in order to present a desirable perception. Those who fear G-d and study the Torah will most likely follow the Torah model for reporting events using honesty and objectivity tempered with understanding.  This is generally known as Tzedaka, Mishpat and Emes.  Charity and Justice and Truth.

When falsehood and the distortion of facts happen, the Jewish Media must rise to the occasion and present a true and honest reporting of the facts.  We should not be afraid to depict oppressive Sharia Law, or hateful Palestinian Media  as the ugly truth that it is.   We actually do a disservice to humanity by  sugarcoating it in any way. Terror and terrorists become the victim rather than the aggressor.

The Torah is always true, honest and always reliable.  Therefore, let us  learn from the Torah to be the desired model  for all reporting.

Please Forward the attached newsletter.   Excellent articles as usual  Yasher Koach to Toronto Zionist Council and the editor of this newsletter!

DO NOT EXTEND THE FREEZE IN YEHUDA AND SHOMRON!!!!!! SHABBAT CHAYEI SARAH, SHABBAT HEBRON SHALOM UMEVORACH

bs"d

Dear HONORABLE CHAVREI KNESSET AND MINISTERS, amv"sh

DO NOT agree to extend the Freeze in Yehuda and the Shomron under ANY condition whatsoever!

Know that you may now, in the present, get paid handsomely to support Netanyahu to extend the freeze, but all of  Am Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel and in Chutz LaAretz will suffer dearly in the future for these choices.  Do you want this on your conscience?  Do you want your children and grandchildren suffering  for your shortsightedness asking why you were so blind to agree to extend the freeze or why you abstained or were silent  thereby allowing it to happen?

What is right for  Yehuda and Shomron  is right for all of Eretz Yisroel!  Gush Katif protected Sderot and Ashkelon. Yehuda and Shomron protects Tel Aviv.and Ben Gurion. Am Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel  protects the entire world.

When Israel publicly demonstrates its religious, moral and  legal Sovereignty over the entire Eretz Yisroel the entire world is a safer place.

Yerushalayim, and especially  Har Habayit is our rightful Heritage

Any hesitation on the part of Israel in this regard is perceived as a weakness and is a victory of delegitimization of  our rights to any part of Eretz Yisroel.

Please stand and be counted among those strong and proud for Eretz Yisroel Hashleima,

If  political pressures cloud the issue, please visit Hebron, the Tomb of the Patriarchs, Maarat Hamachpela,  and it will surely  clear your vision and clarify your thought. Experience Hebron the site of the historic  purchase of Maarat Hamachpela for a burial place for our Forefathers and Mothers. .

Jerusalem and Hebron are bonded eternally and unseparable.  The Mishneh in Yuma, Perek Gimmel states that at the strike of dawn, a caller of the Temple calls out "Has the Sun Risen in Hebron".  Because only then, will the service of sacrifices, the Avoda, in Jerusalem commence.

If we sincerely wish that Israel be under Jewish Sovereignty, we must first attach ourselves to the source and the roots of our entitlement to the Land of Israel.  That originates from Hebron with the Brit Bein Habesarim, the Covenant between G-d and Avraham Avinu whereby Eretz Yisroel was Promised as an Everlasting Eternal Heritage for the Nation of Israel on condition that they observe the Mitzvoth of the Torah and be G-d fearing. This Covenant was reiterated to Yitzchok Avinu and then once more to Yaakov Avinu.  Again in was referenced numerous times in Tanach with Moshe Rabeinu and Yehoshua and with many Neviim.  It is a dominant theme in our liturgy (Tefilloth) and sacred objects (Tefillin, Mezuza).

Best wishes for Bracha VeHatzlacha in siding with Yehoshua and Calev and not with the other misguided leaders of that generation who met an unfortunate end and generated a Bechiya LeDorot, crying for generations.

Thank you so much for reading this email and hearing its message.

Shabbat Shalom Umevorach!

Please follow the lead of Chaver Knesset Eliezer Menachem Mozes!

Fwd: Pollard - Unconditionally פולארד - ללא תנאי

The Pro-Israel Community Calls for Unconditional, No-Strings-Attached Release of Pollard from Prison

Please call the White House, Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 EST: 202-456-1414 / 202-456-1111
* In Israel: 16:00 to 23:00 (Israel time). Toll Free #: 077-566-4150.

Say you respectfully request a "no-strings-attached" unconditional release of Jonathan Pollard from prison.

"No strings attached" means that you think that President Obama should finally, after so many years, grant clemency to Mr. Pollard without insisting that Israel give up even more land to hostile Palestinians in return.  This needs to be stressed because unfortunately, some pro-Palestinian-state congressmen have been working for the Pollard release, which is excellent, but simultaneously, they have been implying to President Obama that: "at a time when Israel... is being faced with difficult decisions, a decision by you to grant clemency ...could be especially useful at a time when those decisions are being made".  In other words, these legislators have hinted, inadvertently or intentionally,  that clemency for Jonathan Pollard will be useful for extorting more concessions from Israel, which is the last thing in the world the pro-Israel community should want to convey to Mr. Obama.

So, can you please call and ask for "no-strings-attached" unconditional release of Pollard from prison.  The receptionist will write down your message, and ask her or him to read it back to you to make sure they got it right. You can also fax or write. Here's how: http://www.jonathanpollard.org/2009/021009a.htm. Please can you pass this on to your friends, and if you live here in Israel,  tell them that in return for their efforts, you will be honored to give them a ride to Ben-Gurion airport on the day Mr. Pollard arrives.

Letters from prominent public figures on behalf of Mr. Pollard, which are well-drafted and do NOT hint that the President should push Israel into "difficult decisions", include:

March for Sara
Friday 29 October, walk in Shomron in memory of terror victim Sara Lisha. Organized by longstanding Mattot Arim activists (2 generations!), the Apelkers from Kochav Yair.
8:30 AM till approximately 11:30 AM. Rain or shine.  Particulars: 0545/493186 or  09/7493018.

It's not only Columbia University. Read about Brooklyn College Indoctrination for this years incoming Freshman

bs"d

Time for us Jews to make ALIYA.

Israel National News reports:

Columbia U Creates Facts, Opens Study Center for 'Palestine'.

Can you expect much from a University that hosts  Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the name of its "academic freedom".  But when the disease hits Brooklyn College it hits home!

An Alumni of Brooklyn College, Bruce Kesler, blogged that he  disinherited Brooklyn College this year because all incoming freshmen and transfer students are given a copy of a book to read, and no other, to create their "common experience." This same book is one of the readings in their required English course. The author is a radical pro-Palestinian professor there. "

This blog post  hit all the major Print Media in New York.  Please note that Brooklyn college is in the heart of Flatbush very close to Boro Park the bastion for religious, Orthodox Jews. It is the City College of choice for most Orthodox Jews in the area.

Bruce Kesler blogged

"After the New York Daily News  reported the issue, and Professor Emeritus in History at the City University of New York, Ron Radosh, wrote about it in the New York Post the New York Times, I guess, had to ride to the rescue of leftist hogwash."

Please read Bruce Kesler's posts and comments

http://maggiesfarm.anotherdotcom.com/archives/15317-New-York-Times-Reports-Sorta-On-Brooklyn-Colleges-Indoctrination-Book-UPDATES.html

My comments follow: (Robin)

(I loved the Daily News and New York Post articles who support Bruce Keslers position.) I didn't expect better from the Times.

The headline of The New York Times article makes light of the matter since they report that the  response in the neighborhood itself is more muted than of the online community. So even if the Times can relate to Bruce Kesler's points, they conclude it's no big deal.

As an insider, and a resident of the Flatbush community where Brooklyn College is situated I can attest that the Jewish leadership  of the community don't want to publicize such matters so as not to draw attention and making the matter  worse than it is.

Muted is a good choice of words since the pain and outcry is numbed but present.  It exists very powerfully deep inside the soul of a community descended from Holocaust survivors just awaiting its time to erupt full force.

Muted silence was the case when the Neo Nazi group recently came to Yeshiva Chaim Berlin in Flatbush.  Dov Hikind and his family and a few others showed but no major opposition to the 8 or so group of neo Nazi's.

Shtika Kehodia Damia and it is my opinion that Jabotinsky would have disagreed with this deafening silent approach of the Leadership of the community.  Unfortunately the Holocaust, vindicated Jabotinsky's approach albeit too late.

It is still not too late to raise our voices.

My comments to Brooklyn College regarding this matter:

Apparently almost everything is open for academic freedom except the Bible. I don't believe that those that pick the curriculum would consider Genesis as required reading which clearly states the position of the Bible which is  that the Land of Israel is the Promised Land for the Jewish People.

Promised to Whom? Promised to the seed of Abraham Isaac and Jacob as an eternal inheritance and
not the Palestinians who have no  roots claiming the land whatsoever. This Covenant between G-d and our Forefathers with the Nation of Israel comes with the understanding that the Israelites, must obey the commandments in the Torah which include observing commandments specific with living on the Land.

Palestinians do not have the inclination or desire or obligation to keep these commandments
but Jews do . The Nation of Israel are the ones that are Divinely entitled to the Land and it is through their being and living on the Land and observing the commandments that the entire world is blessed.

This is not my opinion. It is clearly stated in the Torah.

I don't believe that Brooklyn College will include in their curriculum, passages in the Bible that clearly delineates boundaries of the Land of Israel prior to the Israelite's entry into their Promised Land which clearly includes
all of Judea and Samaria . The concept of Israel "occupying territories" in Judea and Samaria is not based on truth according to the Bible. It is rather the Palestinians who have fabricated lies and stolen the heritage of Jews and present their case as fact.

The omission of any requirement of the freshman class at Brooklyn College to read about Jewish entitlement to the Land of Israel based on the Bible yet requires them to read about the victimization of Palestinians and their legitimate rights in "occupied territories" is extremely painful  to the large segment of Orthodox Jews who happen to live in the surrounding communities of Boro Park and Flatbush and attend Brooklyn College. If they know about it, they by enlarge choose to suffer in silence,

Let me add that a
very large percentage of the population that attends Brooklyn College is Jewish. Many are Orthodox Jews, believers in One G-d and the Holy Torah. This choice of book clearly shows a lack of sensitivity to the beliefs and values of the Jewish Population in Brooklyn College and the surrounding community. It is extremely disturbing especially in light of the controversy going on regarding building a mosque at Ground Zero on the site of 9/11. Incidentally, the argument presented in favor of this choice of required reading  is the same one used in favor of building the mosque at ground zero. It is in the name of promoting diversity and multiculturalism

Islam is the least tolerant of all religions. Jewish and Christian prayer is forbidden on Temple Mount under the Waqf. Mass of expulsions of Jews from Arab countries happened immediately following 1967, the 6 day War. Jews were forced to flee with the clothes on their backs from Muslim countries.

It is doubly painful since we know there is also a large secular Jewish community attending Brooklyn College who are not familiar with their own heritage and will be hearing about how Palestinians are victimized and will somehow be convinced, due to lack of a balanced curriculum to turn against their fellow Jew with J'Accuse depending also on the slant of the Professor.

"Diversity and multiculturalism" has turned into the exact opposite of what it should represent. Anyone that represents opposing cultures/beliefs/values that refuse to be melted into this concept of "diversity and multiculturalism" is excluded and/or not allowed freedom of expression on the same level as those that espouse "diversity and multiculturalism". In fact "diversity and multiculturalism" is usually a smokescreen for a group that wishes to stifle opposition of their own beliefs and values. Others will be allowed expression only in a controlled environment where they have to be somehow subordinate in presentation in order to ensure that their views do not have the same convincing intensity or in any way overpower the views represented by those that run the forum, debate and curriculum.

This is the reason why this book is indoctrinating. Its message is mutually exclusive from the Jewish message based on the Torah. Only their misguided position will be recommended required reading in the curriculum.

Two diametrically opposing positions can not coexist. Either Palestinians are occupiers or Jews are occupiers.  If you choose to present one side of the picture opening up a can of worms, in order to be fair,  you must give equal side to the other side of the coin.

Entitlement to ones home or birthright is not open for discussion. There is a deed that clearly states who the rightful owner is. Such is the case with the Land of Israel.

The Torah is not up for dispute or negotiation.

My question to you is will the position of the Bible at the very least be given equal time and be recommended required reading at Brooklyn College in order to present a balanced picture?

I suspect you will answer me G-d forbid!
