U.S. Tax Dollars to UN Entering Black Hole says Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Ranking Republican

bs"d

Now here is something American Jewish Organizations with Washington Offices can focus on!

After all, what's the point of conducting seminars on educating Jews on the importance of reporting our taxes according to the Law of the Land - Dina D'Malchusa Dina  knowing that our hard earned money in taxes is eventually going towards supporting terror and destruction via the Black HOle of the UN. Rather unsettling???????

So you answer, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Unfortunately, our enemies use the submissive posture of self accusation, self admission of wrongdoing and blame as an excuse  to paint Jews  antisemitic-ally and flawed. They have added accusation upon accusations for wrongdoings whose motives were  in no way criminal or sinister.  Upon investigation it will be revealed that indeed these perceived misdoings did in fact serve some moral, positive end purpose.

Time to join this Congresswomen and  go on the offensive against allocation of  taxpayers dollars to real evil and destructive forces.   Why waste energy for example, on holding seminars across the country being so apologetic for Rubashkin whose questionable policies ultimately tried to save jobs of  the legal employees of Agriprocessor.  Our willingness to admit quilt of any kind to a justice system that ultimately uses it against our brother to prosecute him makes us suspicious and wary of American Justice.  Why publicize the regret of the Spinke Rebbe whose allocations of money to Rebbeim had legal issues  but ultimately served the Good of Mankind (Torah education) and plead guilty for Jonathan Pollard who tried to protect Israel from weapons of mass destruction when America reneged on it's promise to share intelligence that was important for Israel's security.

Let us attack the forces that triggered misdoings on the part of our brothers in an act of desperation ,  rather than constantly apologize for these misdoings! IN addition, let us attack American Foreign Policy involving funding terror across the globe establishing a terror State in the heart of Israel.

For IMMEDIATE Release

(WASHINGTON) - U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, commented today on a scathing report by the former UN undersecretary general of the Office of Internal Oversight Services, which concluded "There is no transparency [at the UN], there is a lack of accountability. I do not see any signs of reform in the Organization." Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

"The stew of corruption, mismanagement, and negligence long-plaguing the UN has reached a boiling point.

"After reading this report, it is even clearer that U.S. taxpayer dollars being shipped off to the UN will continue to be sucked into a black hole unless true reforms are enacted.

"A lack of transparency and accountability is far from the UN's only vice, however. Its endemic anti-Israel bias and inability to stand up to the enemies of freedom and human rights are examples of how the UN has been hijacked by rogue regimes and has abandoned its founding principles.

"With U.S. unemployment at nearly 10-percent and our deficits soaring, the ocean of American taxpayer dollars flowing to such an unaccountable and broken organization is more than a waste - it is an outrage.

"We owe it to the American people to withhold funding to the UN until it gets its act together."

Note: Ros-Lehtinen is the author of the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act (H.R. 557), which conditions U.S. funding to the UN on the implementation of concrete, structural, sweeping reforms throughout the UN system. This legislation enjoys the support of over 100 cosponsors.

It's Possible to Withstand the Pressure! Fear Not and Be Not Dismayed. Chizuk from Women in Green(WIT) on Tisha B'Av Night

bs"d

(Taken from email from Women for Israel's Tomorrow (Women in Green).)

Tisha be-Av Night, opposite the American Consulate: In the Ears of Thousands: "It's Possible to Withstand the Pressure!" "Fear Not and Be Not Dismayed!"

Thousands participated in the annual Tisha be-Av night march of the Women for Israel's Tomorrow (Women in Green) movement around the walls of the Old City.

Yoram Ettinger, the first of the speakers, said opposite the American Consulate:

"We must learn from the leadership that was until Oslo. How to withstand the American pressure - to learn from Ben-Gurion, from Eshkol, from Golda Meir, from Shamir. We have to act as they did.

"The American public, unlike its President, stands united behind the State of Israel, as is shown by every public-opinion poll conducted in the United States in the past year and a half. The American public supports Obama's foreign policy except on a single matter: they expect him to be more pro-Israeli than his current policy.

"The American Congress follows the public, and signals time after time its displeasure with the President's attitude to Israel.

"This phenomenon is consistent since 1948. All the prime ministers understood that it is possible to withstand pressure. In 1948 the American administration ordered Ben-Gurion to agree to the evacuation of Jerusalem, to internationalize Jerusalem, and to stop the conquest in the Negev. The American administration accompanied this pressure with a military and economic embargo.

            "Ben-Gurion responded by:

* the construction of Jewish neighborhoods on the cease-fire line

* moving thousands of new immigrants to Jerusalem

* moving the government ministries from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

* building access routes to Jerusalem

* challenging the entire world

They asked him, how does he withstand the pressure? His response was: if he were to surrender to the pressure of those opposing Israel, he would betray its supporters; and if he were to withstand the pressure, this would give added support to Israel's friends, and he relies on their power in the United States.

"In 1967 Johnson pressured Levi Eshkol that he dare not annex eastern Jerusalem, and demanded not to build beyond the Green Line. Eshkol's response: he built Ramat Eshkol and annexed east Jerusalem.

"In 1970, Nixon, with the Rogers Plan, pressed to divide Jerusalem. Golda's response was: the construction of Gilo, Ramot, Neveh Yaakov, French Hill. Nixon was angry, he was furious, but he knew that, in the long run, he has an ally on whom he could rely.

"Ben-Gurion coined the phrase: The entire world will judge the state of the Jews by its attitude to Jerusalem. If Jerusalem will not be the red line, that is not to be passed, the pressures will increase."

"It is to be hoped," Ettinger concluded his speech, "that Israel's leaders will understand that it's possible to withstand American pressure."

After this, the thousands continued on the march around the walls. Rabbi Shalom Gold and MK Prof. Aryeh Eldad spoke at Lion's Gate. MK Prof. Aryeh Eldad's speech in Hebrew can be found on the Arutz 7 (Israel National News) site in the De'ot section:

http://www.inn.co.il//Articles/Article.aspx/8925

Rabbi Gold said that each one of us must give an accounting of his actions, not only to the generation in which he lives, but to all the generations. We are obligated to guard Eretz Israel - obligated by all the generations. He based his words on the midrash that says:

"When the Temple was destroyed, the Holy One, blessed be He, weeps and says: My children, where are you? My kohanim (priests), where are you? My lovers, where are you? The Holy One, blessed be He, said to Jeremiah: Today I am like a a person who has an only son, who made a wedding for him, and he died during the ceremony. Go and summon Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses from their graves, for they know how to weep. Jeremiah immediately went to the Cave of Machpelah, and said to the Patriarchs of the world: Stand, the time has come when you are summoned before the Holy One, blessed be He. They asked him: Why? He said to them, I do not know, for he feared, lest they say to him: This was [the lot] of our children in your time."

Nadia Matar, the chairperson of the Women For Israel's Tomorrow (Women in Green) summed up the march with the emotional words: "Now, the central issue is Eretz Israel. And, as is written in the Torah portion of Devarim: the divine command is 'Go up, take possession ... Fear not and be not dismayed.' We must stop being afraid and fearlessly declare that the Land of Israel belongs to the people of Israel. The Land must be closely guarded. We cannot repeat the mistakes that were made in our camp. Not another Gush Katif. Now, we are obligated to breach the fences, to strengthen the youth in the army that declares it will not take part in the expulsion order. And the freeze must be smashed by building and planting everywhere. 'We will certainly go up, and we shall gain possession of it, for we shall surely overcome it' (Numbers 13:30)."

Do you have a nice group of friends?

The Yehuda veShomron community and its representatives in Knesset want your help, so as to hold a series of living-room chats in various cities and locations in Israel and explain the situation. In particular -- a new peace process is beginning which is predicted to be worse than Oslo and the Gush Katif disengagement. Also, the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria have a serious building problem so we need to be concerned about a return to the 67 borders. Too few people realize this is about to happen -- and practically no-one knows the inside story!

Please let us know if you can bring together 30 - 40 friends (can be 15 - 20 couples) for this purpose because awareness is all-important. Note: You know your friends -- these living-room chats are for those who ARE  in favor of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and Golan. Please do not invite those few left-wing friends who merely antagonize those who really came to listen -- it simply isn't worth it.

Please send your name, city/geographical area, telephone number, suggested language for your group (Hebrew/English/other) and 2 suggested dates -- to mattot.arim@gmail.com. Can indicate preference re speaker if you have one: Knesset member vs. senior Judea & Samaria building expert.

Fwd: THE TEMPLE MOUNT: PART II From Prof. Paul Eidelberg

The Temple Mount: Part II

Prof. Paul Eidelberg

It was pointed out in Part I that Jewish control of the Temple Mount, Israel's holiest site, is a fundamental precondition of uncontested Jewish control of Jerusalem and, eventually, of Jewish sovereignty over the Land of Israel.  Moreover, Jewish control over the Temple Mount will restore to the Jewish people the esteem of the nations and enable Israel to fulfill its historical mission: to declare from Jerusalem—from Zion—God's sovereignty in the world.

It needs to be emphasized that the first concern of any statesman worthy of the name is national unity.  But that is precisely what the Temple symbolizes for the Jewish people.

Let us recur to Joshua Berman's The Temple, to clarify the Temple's vital significance.

The Temple represents the entire congregation of Israel.  The tribes ascended to Jerusalem, gathered in the Temple courtyard, there to encounter God.  Berman cites Psalm 122:

A song of ascents, of David:

"I rejoiced when they said to me,

'We are going to the house of the Lord.'

Our feet stood inside your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem built up, a city knit together,

To which tribes would make pilgrimage,

The tribes of the Lord—as was enjoined upon Israel—

To praise the Name of the Lord."

From Jerusalem the Priests and Levites went out across the land and taught the laws and precepts of the Torah.  Not only the Temple but also "the city of Jerusalem was considered the source of authoritative values."  Isaiah (2:4) declares: "For instruction shall come forth from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem."

Berman asks: "What does Jerusalem mean for us today?"  He answers: "All of the dimensions that animated and invigorated the spiritual meaning of Jerusalem for the psalmist centuries ago, have returned to animate her—if on a diminished scale—again today, two thousand years later.  We await the reinstatement of the Davidic king, but we can already see in Jerusalem today the seat of a sovereign Jewish government…."

"We have no formal guild of Priests and Levites who bring the word of God out from Zion, but Jerusalem is today the world capital of Jewish learning of all forms.  We do not fulfill the halakhic requirement of gathering as a nation on the pilgrimage of the festivals in the Temple courtyard, yet Jews from all over the world flock to Jerusalem and to the Western Wall on each of these occasions.  Jerusalem today stands as a symbol of the unity of the Jewish people as the largest Jewish city in the world, and the point to which all Jews look as the center of the Jewish world."

"The rebuilding of the Temple," says Berman, "needs to be seen as the pinnacle of a process that is measured in collective and national terms…. Zionism, from a religious perspective, ought to be perceived as a movement dedicated to building a nation around the highest ideals of the Zion of old—around a city that stands as a symbol of Jewish sovereignty on the land, justice, the wisdom of the Torah, Jewish unity, and the opportunity for collective encounter between the Almighty and His people, Israel."

Epilogue:

The nations are conspiring to wrest Jerusalem from the Jewish people.  Islam knows it can never conquer the world so long as Jerusalem is in the hands of the Jews.  Jerusalem, the City of Truth, reveals Islam as false, a fabrication of men.  This is why it's absurd for Israel to engage in negotiations with Muslims—as if the Truth is negotiable.

The conflict between Israel and Islam is the final conflict of mankind, and this conflict centers on Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.  It is not merely a conflict between freedom and tyranny, but between Truth and Falsehood, between the God of Israel and the false god of Islam.  The failure to recognize the theological nature of this conflict— and that Human Reason itself and Human Dignity are at stake in this conflict—is precisely what is driving the democratic nations insane, as Melanie Phillips shows in her book The World Turned Upside Down.

Know, therefore, that if Islam were to gain possession of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, the Dark Ages would descend upon mankind.  The world's economy would shut down completely.   Hundreds of millions of human beings would perish of hunger, disease, and global bloodshed.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, that it remain in Jewish hands.
