No Vote of Confidence in the Defense Leadership of the IDF. Moral unClarity. Unwillingness to listen to Clarity based on Torah and Jewish Identity. Lots of Red Flags

bs"d

With the failures of the IDF to deal with the Kite Terror in Gaza one needs to go to the root of the problem.  Hashem has been patient but we have had glaring red flags that if we continue to ignore them, it will blow up literally in our face.

Red Flag: Elor Azarya neutralized a terrorist and not only was he reprimanded by Yaalon even before the investigation was complete, he was compared to a Nazi, by Yair  Golan one of the leading contenders for next IDF Chief.

So here is a quote, straight from the mouth of Yair Golan, who today is Deputy Chief of Staff of the IDF, answering Atzmona pre- military students who stated that the IDF endangers its soldiers in order to safeguard hostile populations:

"The role of whoever dons a uniform is to endanger his life so that those who are not in uniform can live in peace. I have no problem with that." (Yair Golan, 2006, today a candidate for Israel's next Chief of Staff). see Moshe Feiglins links below.

my comments: Surely, mothers of these Chayalim have a big problem with this! For this we have sent in our sons to serve in the IDF?  To protect our enemy who use hostile civilians, men women and children, who are not in uniform, as human shields and willing, of their own volition, nurtured and groomed from a young age, to sacrifice their lives for Palestine?  This enemy is willing to endanger their own lives and the lives of their own people in order to kill Jews and certainly Chayalim! We sent in our sons into the IDF Davka to fight this snake.  If I was Hamas,  listening to this stupid, immoral elitist ethics as presented by IDF leadership, I would say the way to best way to fight the IDF is to continue and improve upon our present modus operandi.

Engage in Image Warfare

Ahed Temimi vs Elisha Odess. Imagefare vs Warfare  .

That is Hamas forte and plan of action: The IDF will fall for our deceit and protect all of our Jihadists dressed as civilians. Let us continue to use the disabled, women and children. The IDF will stupidly endanger the lives of their own soldiers by restraining themselves when being challenged by those who appear to be "weak". And even a known terrorist who plays dead while engaging in an act of terror will get the benefit of the doubt.

Another Red flag.  Research the Way the IDF treats the Hilltop Youth, those who want to settle the Land of Israel. Following the Duma arson, the Defense Minister was the first to condemn the Jewish Terrorists.  They "most certainly" perpetrated this act of arson in spite of any real investigation to speak of and total lack of forensic evidence. Hebrew Graffiti was basically what "convicted" these Jews (pointing to the Hilltop Youth aka "Jewish Terrorists") less than 12 hours after it happened by these so called VIP,  Defense and political experts.   Two and a half years later, following extensive investigation, illegal incarceration, torture, forced confessions and defamation and character assassination of the Hilltop Youth even by their own Rabbis, these kids are still being prosecuted and slandered and there has been no conviction and no real evidence that Jews actually set fire to this Arab home that killed a family of 3. Did they even investigate the possibility that this arson was perpetrated due to infighting of the Dawabshe family clans as did the other arsons related to this particular Dawabshe Arab family? But why use some common sense?  Read Tamar's Adelsteins writeup of what happened to Elisha Odess from a Mother's perspective: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B86sGl9yfinjTnczdDRTaFNDQ2ZSQm9JdUZ0bWlFcG1TejV3/view

Another Red Flag: The way the IDF treated Ahed Temimi, female teen Palestinian provocateur par excellence raised in a family steeped in terror attacks against Israel,  to the way they treat teen Elisha Odess, Hilltop Youth raised in a family steeped in Torah and Yirat Shamayim.

Let us Examine the Defense Leadership of Today and Tomorrow

Liberman says selection of next IDF chief to begin next week
Six-stage process to conclude at end of 2018 with appointment of successor to Eisenkot; Maj.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi seen as leading candidate

FIrst of all let's examine the Current Leadership in the  way they have conducted the war in Gaza. What is lacking is not their ability to conduct a successful military operation. What is lacking is leadership that welcomes guidance, moral clarity, based on Torah UmItzvoth and the Seven Noahide Laws, and Yirat Shamayim  with a clear and healthy sense of self  and Jewish Identity.  rather than governed by  Image and public opinion,  which seems to be the current Bible of the IDF.

General: 'I want to vomit from shame'

Gaza - Liberman gets an 'F'

Leading candidates: Reasons for Concern

Aviv Kochavi Leading contender

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviv_Kochavi  He was the commander of the Gaza Division during the unilateral disengagement.  We are now in the war with Gaza as a direct consequence of the efficient job he did in expelling Jews from their homes in Gush Katif not to mention the brainwashing of IDF soldiers

The Gaza Expulsion Did Psychological Harm to IDF Soldiers
Like an ecological disaster, it continues to poison the entire Jewish body. Oped for this week's Gush Katif Memorial Day in Israeli schools.

Yair Golan Next Leading contender

Levin: The Obama admin interfered in TWO elections, and crickets - Conservative Review

Rockets fired into Southern Israel. Abba, I'm scared..

"Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared.Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared.Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared. Abba, I'm scared." he said as I tucked him in.

I cant say, "Don't worry, it'll be OK" because I don't know that it will be.

"What if rockets are fired here while we're sleeping?" he asked.

"Then I'll sleep with the window open and hear it and come and get you to the shelter."

"But we only have a few seconds."

"No, we have at least a minute," I said as if I was reassuring him but chuckling in my head as to how ridiculous that was. "In all the years living here, only one rocked really landed near us," again not so reassuring but trying to explain the "odds.'

I cant keep up with the number of Red Alert alarms continue to sound on my phone since he fell asleep, making me lie next to him for security.  Rockets all night.  Theres supposed to be a truce in the works. This is how the Gazans play.

Before he fell asleep, I tried to change his perspective.  "Don't worry about us.  Think about all the other kids who are trying to enjoy their summer vacation, trying to go to sleep and be ready for camp or whatever they have planned for tomorrow. They must be scared."

And as I am "comforting" him with these words, or distracting him and trying to change the subject (maybe not the best parenting but I never got a copy of the rule book on parenting when your country is under a barrage of terrorist rockets), I'm thinking of the parents of the kids near Gaza who not only need to protect and comfort their kids but wont get a good night sleep and be tired, angry and even scared as well.

Hamas uses this cynically because they hate us, they want to see us all dead, they don't care if we cant sleep, are terrorized or hurt or killed. That's their raison d'etre.  And they don't care if we kill them and other Gazans because they will spin it for their benefit, to maintain control and to keep relevant.

No Red Alerts for the past few minutes.  May it continue.  But don't hold your breath.

Ahed Temimi vs Elisha Odess. Imagefare vs Warfare

Bs"d

Ahed Tamimi released from Israel Prison. Compare Her Release with Jewish suspect Elisha Odess

Image PR warfare is the lethal weapon  the Temimi family uses against the IDF and Israel.

Common Sense approach:

Simply destroy their weapons which are their cameras and their ability to broadcast. Address the hostile lying Media as does Donald Trump. They are the enemy!  Take away their tools to spread lies and untruths.   Then bombard the press with the real truth. Expose  the violence and incitement of the Temimi clan as the Israel Advocacy YouTube video effectively did in the link above.

In all due respect, imagefare is exactly  the warfare the enemy wishes us to engage in. After all, they are weak militarily on the actual battlefield. Imagefare is their forte.

Imagefare, and the strategy presented as described in the article below, feeds into the enemies rules of engagement and yields the opposite of the desired image.

By Dr. Moran Yarchi who is the head of the Public Diplomacy Program and a faculty member at the Sammy Ofer School of Communications at the IDC Herzliya. An expanded version of this article originally appeared in The Arena – Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, published by the Abba Eban Institute for International Diplomacy at the IDC Herzliya, chaired by Ambassador Ron Prosor.

...In our paper, Ayalon, Popovich, and I suggested a new strategy, which we referred to as "Imagefare." In conducting Imagefare, the state takes into consideration the impact of fighting for its public image in the process of formulating policy in international conflicts. A sound military strategy should be influenced by public image considerations as part of its overarching strategy. Choosing military means and methods must be done with acute awareness as to how actions in the combat arena will be received by international public opinion. Decision-making should balance military gains with damage to public image, as both may affect foreign policy in different ways. Public diplomacy and public relations professionals should be incorporated into the decision-making processes. Their broad participation in formulating strategy can contribute to conducting more effective warfare in the public image arena."

They suggest to conduct the hearings of Ahed Temimi with transparency

"...The decision to try her behind closed doors created an impression that "the Occupation" fails to provide Palestinians due process and further diminished its legitimacy. "

Alot of good airing her interrogation has accomplished.

I am not disputing that her interrogation in fact might have violated some of her human rights, like sleep deprivation in order to extract confessions.

But for goodness sakes!

Why did we need her to confess?

We already have all the evidence we need against her. It's obvious.

Anyway,  she basically was tight lipped under interrogation.  Israel had all the damning evidence on her without an interrogation! Her public statements and public actions speak for themselves!

Basically engaging in imagefare is a no win situation. In fact,  the more you try to protect your image the less you succeed!

So we might as well protect Israel the old fashioned way.

Case in point and there are many others...The so called massacre of Jenin in 2002  where the IDF endangered the lives of their own Chayalim engaging in "Imagefare",  too worried about the public image, sending elite units into booby trapped suicidal urban warfare with 23 Chayalim dead  rather than engaging them by air and the world not only didn't appreciate Israel's senseless, suicidal sacrifice on behalf of the Palestinian civilian population who were engaging them on the ground, they acually condemned Israel  for the massacre of Jenin and for human rights violations and IDF brutality.

"On April 7, senior Palestinian official Saeb Erekat suggested to CNN that some 500 Palestinians had been killed in the camp. Five days later, when the fighting stopped, PA Secretary Ahmed Abdel Rahman told UPI that the number was in the thousands, hinting, along with other Palestinian figures, that Israel had snatched bodies, buried Palestinians in mass graves and under the rubble of ruined buildings, and otherwise conducted on a scale compatible with genocide."
Stories of hundreds of civilians being killed in their homes as they were demolished spread throughout international media.[8] Subsequent investigations found no evidence to substantiate claims of a massacre, and official totals from Palestinian and Israeli sources confirmed between 52 and 54 Palestinians, mostly gunmen, and 23 IDF soldiers as having been killed in the fighting.[9][10][11][12]"
