For the rabbi to make such a blessing indicated that he considered the election results a true sign from God. He explained he was overjoyed that "the Jews have passed through the rule of Obama in relative safety."

Fwd: The media couldn't agree...Mike Huckabee newsletter on Trump bypassing mainstream media and taking his message directly to the people..on Obama removing authorized surveillance from American borders while still in office till January. "Lucky" Texans and eventually the rest America will now have to deal with these unvetted migrants...

Robin,
President-elect Trump had a meeting with top reporters and media executives Monday, but accounts of what happened were mixed. A report in the New York Post claimed it was like a firing squad, with Trump blasting the media folks for their false and biased coverage of him during the campaign. But some in attendance disputed that, saying that Trump made his displeasure with the media's bias known upfront, but then talked about ways the White House and the media could build a better relationship.
The fact that the media couldn't even agree on what happened during a meeting with the media about the media should give you a good clue to why Trump did an end run around them by releasing a message to Americans about what he will do on Day One directly to YouTube. Between Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, Trump has shown that he doesn't need to kowtow to obsolete media gatekeepers to stay in their good graces. He can take his case directly to the people the way Ronald Reagan did, only even more effectively, thanks to modern technology. Of all the false and overblown scare stories about Trump that liberal media outlets hurled during the campaign, I suspect that what actually terrifies them the most is that he knows how to go around them and render them superfluous. That's a much more powerful weapon than the pen and phone Obama used to go around Congress.

Sincerely,
Mike Huckabee

November 22
By Mike Huckabee
On November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas and Lyndon Johnson was sworn into office aboard Air Force One before it took off for Washington, DC. The country –- Dallas most of all –- was left shell-shocked and grieving. It was as if we as a nation had lost the ability to breathe.
It wasn't until 9/11 that one American city was the focus of such a devastating event.
Every year on this date, the predictable stories appear about ongoing conspiracy theories and analyses of the short-lived Kennedy Presidency. Things have certainly changed, and the assassination itself initiated some of that change. At a time when political divisions reign and the Secret Service must be on high alert every nanosecond, we can't even imagine a time when our President chose to ride through the streets of any city in...an open limousine.
But today, I'd like to offer you a look at a different kind of story, one that examines how we choose to preserve a tangible connection to such huge events in our national life. Did you know that the Texas School Book Depository was almost torn down before it was turned into the Sixth Floor Museum? It's now the second most-visited tourist attraction in Texas, second only to the Alamo. (And, no, the Alamo was never in danger of being torn down! We're talking about Texas, after all.) Dallas has had a complicated relationship with the Kennedy assassination after years of blame and condemnation by many around the world. Now, it faces delicate choices about how to preserve other sites relative to that awful day, particularly at Love Field.
For a very engaging article on the subject, click here. Irony alert: this piece appears not in a Texas publication, but in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Run for the border begins
By Mike Huckabee
As predicted, the imminent Inauguration of Donald Trump has sparked a run for the border. With our border agents already stretched to the limit and their hands tied by their supervisors (is it any wonder their union endorsed Trump?), the last thing they needed was for Operation Phalanx, the DHS' helicopter border surveillance program, to be cut off. But that's what President Obama has done, despite protests by state leaders in Texas.
Between March 2012 and December 2015, in the Laredo sector alone, the eye in the sky was responsible for 10,559 apprehensions, 4,007 "turnbacks" and the seizure of nearly 13,000 pounds of drugs. But Obama has been scaling back the program since last January, even though Congress fully funded it through 2017. The eyes of Texas are upon you, but if you're an illegal border crosser, it appears the feds' eyes will be shut tight at least until January.
