To Our Friends and Supporters The AFSI Chizuk mission is in Israel from Oct. 27 through Nov. 4. We have many exciting and challenging adventures awaiting us. We hope to be sending photos and reports on a regular basis. Happily, our associate, Jonathan Grauman, will be manning the office in the absence of our regular staff, Helen and Judy, who will be leading the mission. Jonathan will be available at the same email and phone number to which our readers are accustomed: afsi@rcn.com; 212-828-2424. Please feel free to communicate with him. May we continue to experience success in our endeavors! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AFSI on Har HaBayit; Status of Yehuda Glick This morning, the AFSI group joined Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Mount Institute for a tour of Har HaBayit (Temple Mount). Here's Helen: Much to our delight, AFSI was once again able to join Rabbi Chaim Richman on a tour of the Temple Mount. Our access required the usual passport checks and security pat down. My bracelet reading Har HaBayit B'Yadenu, the Temple Mount is in our hands, was confiscated as a possible item of incitement. Israeli guards accompanied us throughout, as did a WAQF member. Arabs photographed us very openly as we proceeded around the Mount. It was an especially touching moment when Yehuda Glick's son appeared on the Mount, barefoot, and was allowed to pray for his father. Obviously the prohibition against Jews praying on the Mount was lifted for this emergency situation. The heavy Jewish security presence on Har HaBayit, and the resulting quiet, is testimony to the fact that the Israeli police are capable of controlling the Arab violence and stone throwings on the Mount. They simply must be allowed to carry out the law. At a minimum, this has to be the ongoing situation. AFSI on Har HaBayit | The AFSI group with Rabbi Richman |
And this from Women in Green: Dear Friends, As we continue to pray for the full recovery of our friend Rabbi Yehuda Glick who was shot by an Arab terrorist last week because of his activities for Israeli Sovereignty on the Temple Mount, we continue with our campaign for the application of Israeli Sovereignty on all of Eretz Yisrael. Yesterday our dear friends from AFSI, under the leadership of Helen Freedman, came to Oz veGaon. We had a very special time together. This is our opportunity to thank Helen and all AFSI members for their wonderful and tirelessly work for the people and the Land of Israel. In our latest issue of Sovereignty you will find on page 15 the AFSI postcard by Mark Langfan outlining the dangers of a Palestinian State in Israel's Biblical Heartland, 9 miles from Gush Dan. Keep up your great work AFSI! Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar www.womeningreen.org | Yehuda Glick's son praying for his father on Har HaBayit |
B"H as reported today in Arutz Sheva, it looks like Yehuda Glick will likely return to full function: Yehuda Glick Recovering And finally, Secretary of State John Kerry wants to coerce Israel into resuming "peace talks" with the Palestinian Arabs. However, as reported in Palestinian Media Watch (www.palwatch.org) today, we sure have a "partner for peace": Abbas glorifies shooter of Rabbi Glick ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Helen, Defender of Israel! | Helen near Gaza | | Calling in the troops! | | Assessing the scene with Ari Briggs | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Klinghoffer protest this past Saturday night Our faithful and stalwart supporters, Debbie and Dr. Robert Weiss, were at the Met this past Saturday night after Shabbat, protesting The Death of Klinghoffer. In their words, "Lincoln Center was teeming with cops (we saw at least 20 in uniform) to protect the Opera House against the likes of us. This is as close as we could get." | Debbie & Dr. Robert Weiss protesting at the Met | Don't forget! Our next protest is this Wednesday, November 5. The performance begins at 7:30 PM, and we will begin assembling at 5:30 PM in front of the steps of Lincoln Center at Columbus Avenue and West 64 Street. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Want to buy a nonstick Tefal pan? Go to 'Palestine' Strangely, (or perhaps not so strangely) Israel seems to have disappeared from the French kitchenware company Tefal's website. As reported in Israel Hayom: Where is Israel? Here is the company's webpage where one can search for stores by country: Tefal - where to buy Please contact the company and ask them why Israel is not listed, and why Palestine is, as THERE AIN'T NO COUNTRY OF PALESTINE! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CALENDAR OF EVENTS Israeli-related events in an around NYC
