The grand finale: The thoughts of Dr. Roy Neuberger:

Dr. Roy Neuberger writes
THE WAR OF GOG UMAGOG
Dear Friends:

My book, 2020 VISION, begins with following words of the Malbim: "In the End of Days, after the Children of Israel have returned to their land, the children of Ishmael (the Moslem nations) and the children of Esau (the Western nations) will unite to attack Jerusalem. They will form a world coalition against the tiny nation of Israel.  But something will go wrong with their plan.  The religious beliefs of the children of Ishmael and the children of Esau will clash, and the two nations will collide and destroy each other. This is what is referred to as the War of Gog and Magog.  Following this cataclysmic conflict, the Final Redemption of the Jewish People will occur with the coming of Messiah the Son of King David." (Malbim on Ezekiel 32:17)
I used to wonder what catalyst could launch this war between the Moslem and Western nations.  Lately there has been an appearance of increasing friendship between the U. S. government and the Moslem world.  Why would the Moslems want to attack America?

But now we have the answer.  The fuse has been lit!

The United States recently succeeded in locating and killing the worldwide terrorist leader.  This, of course, was a natural reaction to the events of 9/11; he had been Public Enemy Number One, the world's "most wanted."  Nevertheless, the consequences are clear; his followers will not rest until they have taken revenge.
Shortly after Pesach, my wife and I hailed a taxi in Jerusalem.  We thought we were adept at choosing appropriate drivers, but this time we miscalculated.  Our driver launched into a bitter tale about his close relative in America, recently murdered by robbers in his store.  He told us he was planning to take revenge, except that "the Israelis" had taken away his passport.  He went on and on with his frenzied personal jihad.  At one point he said, "I am a very dangerous person," and the claim did not seem farfetched.
This is a single individual.
There are clearly millions of fanatical followers of the slain terrorist leader, many of whom he trained and financed. It does not take a prophet to understand that they will not rest until they have taken revenge on the country and culture that has deprived them of their leader and hero.  One of course does not know to what extent they will succeed, but clearly they will try.  They are patient and always surprising, so I doubt they will do anything hasty or expected.  They will wait for their moment, biding their time, and then, as on September 11, 2001, they will appear "out of the clear blue sky," and give the U. S. and its allies a chilling surprise.
This is not my scenario; this is the scenario that Ezekiel prophesied thousands of years ago and that the Malbim clarified for us.
I believe we would do well to remember the shocking admonition of another prophet: "I shall shake the House of Israel among all the nations as one shakes [grain] in a sieve, and no pebble shall fall to the ground.  By the sword will all the sinners of My people die, who say 'The evil will not approach and overtake us!'" (Amos 9:9-10/Haftara for Parshas Kedoshim)
My friends, these are frightening words.  People are gleeful about the death of this terrorist leader, but we dare not say "the evil will not approach ...us." It is essential that we understand the precise accuracy of the words of the prophets.  We are almost certainly going to witness very dangerous events.  The cultures of the surrounding nations are doomed.  Any person enmeshed in them - G-d forbid! - is likely to suffer their fate.
What is the proof?
We know that eighty percent of the Children of Israel never left Biblical Egypt (see Rashi on Exodus 10:22 and 13:18) because they placed their faith in that culture and did not want to follow Moses into the wilderness.  Thus, our rabbis instruct us to use the Biblical Exodus as a guide to the events surrounding the Final Redemption.  Rabbi Elchonen Wasserman ZT"L is quoted as having said, "Several times I heard from the holy Chofetz Chaim that we can learn about the end of our exile from what happened at the end of our exile in Egypt...." (Redemption Unfolding, p. 78)
Only the culture of Torah is eternal.
According to the Malbim, we can expect war between the Moslem and Western nations, a war in which both cultures will be destroyed.  We can also expect that the Moshiach ben Dovid will be revealed at some point in the course of that conflict or afterwards.  The death of the Chief Terrorist appears to be the signal for the beginning of this war.
Our sole hope is to follow the example of our righteous ancestors, who, despite the collapse of Biblical Egypt, followed Moses into the wilderness.
            They crossed the Red Sea.
They saw G-d and said "This is my G-d." (Rashi on Exodus 15:2)
They ascended to Mount Sinai.
They received the Holy Torah.
If we follow their example, we can also be saved!
The pillars of the earth are shaking.  There is only One Place that offers protection, stability and survival, and that Place is the Daled Amos of Torah.  Unity with Torah saved us in Biblical Egypt and unity with Torah will save us at the Final Redemption.  Ezekiel the Prophet and the Malbim have assured us that the War of Gog Umagog will be followed by the Days of Moshiach, when the Holy Temple will spread its light over the entire world.
May we see that perfect world soon in our days!

Free Prayer Service! Temple Mount Prayer Notes also placed in Kotel: Connecting to the Heart!

bs"d

Dear Friends, amv"sh

I just used this service to send a note for a Refuah Shleima for my neigbors son and my son's friend 12 year old  Elimelech ben Raizel just diagnosed with 4th stage lymphoma and beginning treatment today. Being that Hashem is the One who is the Ultimate Healer May Hashem guide the family  to the right shlichim and treatment for a Refuah Shleima speedily  both spiritually and physically and to us as well so that we too are metaken what needs to be metaken Eli  will have a complete Refuah Shleima. Please also daven and take on some Mitzvah for his complete and speedy recovery .   Robin

Of course any donation to this group of Temple Mount activists who are Moser Nefesh so that Har Habayit stays under Jewish Sovereignty with rights to daven and  with full access for Jews under Halachic guidelines and not Chas Vechalila under the PA is most welcome and necessary to keep them going.

From: Yosef Rabin <613yos@gmail.com>
Spread this around your communities, connect to Har HaBayit and help activists on the ground,

.

Welcome to Temple Mount Prayer Notes, the only known free service in the world that allows your prayer notes to reach the holiest place on earth, the Temple Mount.

The prayer note carriers – observant Jews -  ascend the Mount in strict accordance with Torah law. Prior to the ascent they prepare for and immerse in a kosher mikveh to remove spiritual impurities. While on the Mount they wear non-leather shoes and refrain from treading on the site of the Temple.

The prayer notes are then carried in a circle outside the periphery of the site of the Temple along with recitation of appropriate prayers. Due to the police enforced no-Jewish prayer policy the notes are brought up to the Mount discreetly and the prayers recited silently.

It is of vital importance to help the Jewish People world over connect and to have at least this limited type access to the Temple Mount. All people from all nations are invited to submit their prayers as well, as it is written "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. (Isaiah 56)".

May the Almighty accept all our prayers in Mercy,

The TMPN Team

Fwd: Middle East and Terrorism: An Interview: The Code of Ethical Warfare of the IDF

bs"d

To the Jewish Press Staff, amv"sh

Moadim LeSimcha!

In light of last weeks Jewish Press front page news of JTA, and "Anonymous" comment on Shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com defending the front page news article as  "middle of the road reporting",  rather than being a mouthpiece for IDF's  new policies,  I would like you to read the following  posts that paint the IDF in a less positive light. . I suspect that the Jewish Press considers  ARUTZ7 as "propaganda" and will therefore  not report these items  or report it in a censored manner while sticking purely to the "facts". Unfortunately It takes a terror attack on the level of the Fogel Massacre to present Arutz7 or another right winger on the front page of the Jewish Press and  even then some of the facts might be censored by JTA or presented as "claims of the right wing Settlers" rather than as facts.  .It is not only the Jewish Press that fails to understand that a media war is enabling our enemies to win the War on the Ground against pious Breslov Jews who want to daven in Kever Yosef  simply because it is our Land and we should be able to do so freely w/o fear of our enemies in our Land.

To all my readers, please write the Jewish Press editors above and voice your opposition to using JTA a mouthpiece for a leftist agenda on their front page.  While the Jewish Press considers this "middle of the road reporting"many consider JTA  reporting as a mouthpiece for "Peace Now".

1. Palestinian Authority Police Kill Israeli near Joseph's Tomb

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

Palestinian Authority police Sunday morning shot and killed one Israeli and wounded four others after they prayed at Joseph's Tomb (Kever Yosef) around 6 a.m. Sunday (11 p.m. Saturday night EDT). The murder victim (pictured below) was identified as 24-year-old Ben Yosef Livnat, a nephew of Likud Minister Limor Livnat and father of four children.

Arabs attacked the funeral procession with rocks as it proceeded from his childhood home of Elon Moreh to Jerusalem, where he lived with his wife and four children. At least one car windshield was broken in the rock attacks, but no one was injured. People from Elon Moreh stood by the highway in dozens of cars as the funeral procession passed.

One of the three who were wounded in the shooting attack is in serious condition, and Army helicopters evacuated the injured to a hospital for emergency care. A group of 15 worshippers from the Breslov Chassidic sect had driven to the site and were returning when they were gunned down by Palestinian Authority police in a jeep.

The PA security forces continued to fire at the cars as they fled.

The IDF hurriedly issued a statement that the trip to Kever Yosef was not coordinated with Israeli security forces, and military spokesmen referred to the murder as an "incident" and not an attack.

Kever Yosef is a Jewish holy site that was supposed to be under Israeli control and open to worshippers as stated in previous agreements. However, the government has surrendered the area to Palestinian Authority control, and local Arabs have desecrated it several times.

The Breslov group was known to Palestinian Authority authorities as people who frequently prayed at Kever Yosef without any other intentions, according to Gershon Mesika, chairman of the Shomron (Samaria) Regional Council. He called the shooting attack a "massacre at close range."

National Union Knesset Member Dr. Michael Ben-Ari indirectly blamed the American government for having "trained and armed the enemy army that is called the 'Palestinian Authority police' and is directly responsible for the murder at Kever Yosef."

He called on the Israeli government to restore the Od Yosef Chai Yeshiva to Kever Yosef and to confiscate weapons from the Palestinian Authority

The attack on the morning before the last day of the Passover holiday comes less than a month after the savage stabbings of Rabbi Udi Fogel, his wife Ruthie and three of their six young children, including a three-month-old baby, in community of Itamar, also located in Samaria.

Residents of Judea and Samaria frequently have warned that the removal of roadblocks and checkpoints in the area would make it easier for Arab terrorists to stage attacks and would encourage PA police to attack Jews. Defense Minister Ehud Barak has argued that the easing of security measures are "goodwill" measures that strengthen PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's popularity and help him fight terror.

2. Min. Livnat 'Stunned' by Nephew's Murder

by Gil Ronen

Minister of Culture and Sport Limor Livnat expressed her shock Sunday at the murder of her nephew, Ben-Yosef Livnat, at the Tomb of Joseph in Shechem.

A formal announcement issued by the minister's bureau said that "Minister Limor Livnat is stunned by the murderous terror attack that killed her nephew, Ben-Yosef Livnat z"l, at Joseph's Tomb this morning."

"A young man whose sole purpose on the eve of the second Pesach holiday was to pray, was vilely murdered in cold blood, and left behind a wife and four orphans," she stated.

Ben-Yosef Livnat's funeral began at about 11:00 A.M., proceeding from Elon Moreh in Samaria toward the To'eh BaSadeh meit midrash (study hall) and from there to the Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem. Livnat was to be buried at the Mount of Olives Cemetery.

3. PA Arabs Celebrate Murder by Desecrating Joseph's Tomb

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

Palestinian Authority Arabs set fire to Kever Yosef near Shechem Sunday morning several hours after PA policemen gunned down Jewish worshippers, killing one of them. Eyewitnesses saw smoke billowing over the tomb, which Arabs have frequently desecrated in the past.

The murder victim, 24-year-old Ben Yosef Chai, a nephew of Likud Minister Limor Livnat, was buried Sunday afternoon, several hours before the beginning of the last day of the seven-day Passover holiday Sunday evening.

PA police killed Livnat and wounded four others by opening fire on their cars after they prayed at Kever Yosef and were returning home.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak condemned the murder and said that the lack of coordination did not justify the Palestinian Authority police attack. He demanded that the PA investigate the shooting. Pictured is a bullethole in one of the vehicles targeted by the PA.

Many coalition Knesset Members are up in arms over the PA police attack. Cabinet Science minister, MK Prof. Rabbi Daniel Hershkowitz, chairman of the Jewish Home party that is part of the coalition, said the attack "unmasked the PA's true face" and called for the return of the IDF to the holy site, where previous agreements guaranteed Israel control and the freedom of worship to Jews.

Israel since has surrendered Kever Yosef to the PA.

National Union chairman MK Yaakov Katz called on Israelis to remember that it was Israel that first armed the PA with rifles as part of the ill-fated Oslo Accords, signed in 1993. Livnat's name is added to "the long list of 1,500 Jews who have been slaughtered by PA weapons," MK Katz added.

The Shomron (Samaria) Residents Committee stated, "The murder this morning at Joseph's Tomb illustrates the danger of relying on the Palestinian police. Every Palestinian policeman is a potential terrorist whose hatred of Jews" is always present.

Likud MK Ze'ev Elkin and National Union MK Aryeh Eldad said, "There can be no room for any concession on the need for total control and freedom of action for the IDF in all regions of Judea and Samaria."

The Human Rights Organization of Judea and Samaria declared that the murder provides further proof that contradicts a recent report that the Palestinian Authority is ready to become an independent country.

4. PA Spokesman: Settlers Are not Normal People

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

Jewish settlers in Israel "are not normal people" and therefore there is no need to apologize for the murder of a Jew who prayed at Kever Yosef (Joseph's Tomb) Sunday morning, according to Palestinian Authority security forces' spokesman General Adnan Damiri.

He also claimed the victims of Kever Yosef attack may have been armed.

In an unusually provocative interview with Voice of Israel government radio, he said he could not confirm or deny eyewitness reports that Palestinian Authority policemen shot at five Jews who were on their way home from praying at Kever Yosef (Joseph's Tomb) early Sunday morning.

"We have not said they were or were not" PA policemen, Damiri said, contradicting all reports in both Arab and Israeli media, where the attackers were identified as PA policemen.

Asked if the PA will apologize for the murder of Ben Yosef Livnat, he answered, "You know that settlers are not normal people. Every day, they shoot at innocent Arabs." This, of course, is a blatant untruth, as the news anchor realized.

News anchor Estie Peres, who may agree with the usual Voice of Israel's criticism of Jewish presence in most of Judea and Samaria, responded that  she could not agree with his statement that "settlers are not normal" and asked Damiri if there was justification in shooting at people who had been praying and were on their way home.

"Maybe they were armed," Damiri responded.

Further questioned if the PA will "make peace with settlers," he declared, "There is no room in the Palestinian Authority for settlers."

The Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency turned the story around and told its readers that "dozens of armed ultra-Orthodox settlers entered the Joseph's Tomb site…, pulled out their own guns and pointed them toward Palestinian officers. " This is the same agency that claimed that the Fogel family of Itamar were killed by a Thai worker, well knowing that the town of Itamar allows employment of Jewish workers only.

There was no indication from Israeli authorities that the worshippers were armed.

5. IDF Judea and Samaria Cmdr. Regrets but Does Not Condemn Killing

by Gil Ronen

The Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Nitzan Alon, addressed this morning's shootings of Israeli worshippers near Joseph's Tomb in Shechem by Palestinian Authority security forces without any noticeable emotion, and did not say one word blaming the PA for murdering an unbillegerent  Israeli citizen at close range.

The IDF statement issued together with Brig.-Gen. Alon's short video statement said: "The shooting killed one Israeli, Ben Yosef Livnat, and wounded four others. The IDF expresses its condolences to the Livnat family."

"Visits to Joseph's Tomb must be coordinated in advance so that Israeli security forces may provide proper arrangements for the safety of worshippers. Arriving at the Tomb independently without prior coordination is extremely dangerous."

INN Editor comments: Does this mean that the cold blooded murder of a man going to pray was justified? Is it par for the course when the perpetrators are Arabs? One could almost infer that from the lack of any condemnation of the murderers on the part of Gen. Alon.

The need for coordination is a security measure aimed at Israelis. The act of murder is a barbaric deed in itself whether or not it was made easier by lack of coordination with the IDF. (R.S. INN editor).

Robin Ticker

Goldstone, International Law, Jewish Press, Once again your front page cover puts dangerous new IDF Policy changes in positive light

bs"d

Unfortunately I am once again angered that  the Jewish Press uses their Front Page to report  acceptably on  a new IDF policy that potentially endangers IDF Soldiers and Israeli lives.  http://www.jewishpress.com/pageroute.do/47946/Goldstone_Fallout:_I.html

Failure of Jewish Media to put things in a proper Torah perspective indirectly aids and empowers  the enemies of Israel.

I am referring to the new IDF Policy Changes as a result of the Goldstone Fallout.  Rather than expose the double standard of the use of International Law  JTA tells half the story leaving out the side that conclusively shows that such a new IDF policy can in fact endanger Israeli Soldiers and Israeli civilians.

Unfortunately this is the pattern of JTA reporting and the Jewish Press should reconsider using them as a reliable and  kosher news source typically gracing the Jewish Press on their front cover.  The Jewish Press as well as all the Jewish Print Media who puts Torah before everything else  would do well to consult with Daas Torah  as per whether such IDF decisions is consistent with how the Torah would advise a Jewish army defending the residents of Israel when the Palestinians use their civilians as human shields.  The Torah viewpoint must be investigated, heard and not suppressed!

Please report on the likely endangerment of IDF Soldier due to these new policy changes as per what happened in Jenin where many IDF soldier were killed in urban warfare in an attempt to spare Palestinian civilian casualties.   While there is positive things to say about using accurate weapons it must not be done at the expense of the lives of the Israel Soldier.

Please note  that in the Jenin battle,  the international media did not recognize or appreciate  the self sacrificing efforts to save Palestinian civilian lives.  That was a perfect example but not the only one of how IDF military operations are dictated by media rather than military considerations and as a consequence suffered very heavy losses.

Not only were the efforts not appreciated in international media it received the exact opposite desired  PR reaction in that Israel was accused of War Crimes and of staging a  progrom against the civilian Palestinian population.  These accusations were based on lies and distortions and falsehoods...and  I personally knew Gedalia  a soldier who died in combat in that useless urban battle in Jenin and know of the pain and sorrow of his family...  This should surely cause one to reflect as per whether these new guidelines of the IDF is indeed one that is consistent with Torah.

But not only the lives of IDF soldiers and Israeli residents are endangered by fighting a war based on PR. Israel is endangering the world by setting a precedent of weakness in the fight against such evil  The world takes their cue from how Israel responds.    Being compassionate to the cruel results in being cruel to the compassionate.

NATO forces in Libya face these same moral dilemmas.  Military targets are placed in civilian populations zones who serve as human shields and NATO forces retreat. How compassionate is this to the potential victims of  these rockets allowed to be left in place ready to be fired on the civilian populations of  babies, children and elderly?

Please take your reporting from Kosher sources such as Doris Wise Montrose and the Children of Jewish Holocaust Survivors working to ensure that Never Again remains more than a mere slogan,  Please put only Kosher News sources, those that are proud to  defend our rights to defend our Land dictated by Torah Shebichtav and Torah SheBaal Peh , the written and oral Torah Law on your Front Page.   Please don't empower those (including  the Gov't of Israel and the IDF who hold that Torah is secondary to secular state laws of IDF engagement.  These new IDF guidelines implicitly suggest guilt of war crimes by their determination to "rectify wrongdoing" in the face of international condemnation. It seems pretty clear to me that the IDF now calls for new policies that potentially stops to  protect our own Jewish military and  civilian population in order to defend the civilian population of our enemies who unfortunately are  being used by cowards as human shields..

Please turn a blind eye to the hostile international media waiting to pounce on Israel whenever she shows strength to defend the rights of our Land and our people.   Who if not  the Jewish Media, will speak out the Truth of Torah?

Sincerely, Robin Ticker

Goldstone, International Law, and the Coming Crisis in September

A presentation by three distinguished lawyers, historians, and scholars

Avi Bell
J.J. Surbeck
Rick Richman

Thursday, April 28 - 7 p.m.
Luxe Hotel Sunset
11461 Sunset Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA  90049

Avi Bell participated in a debate on the Goldstone Report at Stanford Law School on March 28 with Justice Richard Goldstone and others, three days before Justice Goldstone published his now-famous recantation in the Washington Post. The Goldstone Recantation demonstrates that the truth about international law and the Arab-Israeli conflict, although slow to get its boots on, can be used as an effective defense by those who are knowledgeable in it.

International law is usually considered only when it can be played against Israel and is generally ignored when it is in fact in Israel's favor or would condemn the Palestinians. We have been dealing with the progressive institutionalization of a double standard. J.J. Surbeck will give examples of the problem and where it is leading the world community if not addressed in time.

In advance of the coming September meeting of the UN General Assembly, where opponents of Israel plan to seek a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state with non-negotiated borders, Rick Richman will analyze the legality and the political implications of such an attempt.

Panelists:

Professor Avi Bell holds multiple degrees from Harvard and the University of Chicago, clerked for the Supreme Court of Israel, and has taught courses on the laws of war and the legal aspects of the Arab-Israeli conflict.  He is a professor at Bar Ilan University Faculty of Law as well as the University of San Diego Law School.

J.J. Surbeck is a Swiss-educated attorney who worked for 16 years for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which many have called the "Guardian of the Geneva Conventions." He has lectured and taught widely on the Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols, also called International Humanitarian Law. He is currently Executive Director of T.E.A.M. (Training and Education About the Middle East), a non-profit organization, and is based in San Diego.

Rick Richman is a graduate of Harvard College and NYU Law School. His articles have appeared in American Thinker, Commentary, the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, the Jewish Press, Pajamas Media, and the New York Sun. He blogs at Contentions and edits Jewish Current Issues.

Fwd terror victim, Daniel Viflic Beit Shemesh - Family in need of funds. LemaanAchai.org

Please send this email out to the congregation-- I know the organiztation collecting the funds. They are based in my neighborhood and are very honest and caringm, so the money will go right to the family in need--Tizkeh L'mitzvot!

The victim of last week's utterly evil missile attack on a
school bus, is
local Bet Shemesh/RBS resident Daniel Viflic, aged 16.

Daniel is in critical condition - and his family asks all of
us to daven for
his survival and recuperation (Raphael Daniel Arieh ben
Tamar). The coming
hours are extremely important.

Lema'an Achai, the RBS Chesed Organization, is coordinating
all efforts to
help the family, shoulder to shoulder with our colleagues
at "One Family"
(who specialise in assisting Terror Victims) and "Paamonim"
(who specialise
in financial and small business structuring).

* How You Can Help *

The Viflic family run a small catering business, and right
now (coming up to
Pessach) was planned to be their peak season.

Due to the horrific circumstances the Viflic's are now
suffering, the
business will be non-existent during this period.
Unfortunately, there is no
cash reserve to fall back on.

In order to float the business and the family until after
Pessach, $10,000
is immediately needed.

This is a definite and immediate need. Depending on Daniel's
progress, there
will likely be other financial impact also.

A special Emergency Fund has therefore been established for
the Viflics, by
Lema'an Achai.

Please

a. *After* you have given your regular kimche depischa/maot
