Let's be clear: these stall tactics were never really about Judge Kavanaugh's qualifications, his judicial temperament, or his high school recreational choices. The smear campaign came from the fear that, if confirmed, Judge Kavanaugh might be the swing vote that overturned Roe v. Wade. But instead of taking their worries and operating by using the principles of reasonable doubt and due process, Congressional Democrats threw a tantrum. In the regular world, tantrums get children a timeout. Come election day, maybe some politicians need a time out as well? The vile actions taken against Judge Kavanaugh and his family showed that Congressional Democrats would ruin the reputation of anyone who dared to stand in the way of their goals. And it's not just Judge Kavanaugh, Dr. Ford's life will also never be the same. The best way to ensure that this type of embarrassment doesn't happen again is by making sure there are consequences for those that ignore our principles of reasonable doubt, due process, and the ability to face one's accuser. What do you think: will the concluded hearings have an effect on the November midterm elections? Thank you, Huckabee |
