"Bring a knife, dagger, or handgun,"
kidnap Israeli civilians,
and murder soldiers and settlers
- Instructions on Facebook to Gazans
for "March of Return"

by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik

Two Palestinian Facebook pages and a forum directing rioters in Gaza gave explicit instructions to murder and kidnap Israelis on May 14, the day the US embassy opened in Jerusalem, as well as suggestions on how to accomplish this goal. It is not clear if Hamas itself was the group sending these messages. What is critical is that Gazans were encouraged to bring weapons to the demonstrations and use these weapons to either murder or capture Israelis. Israeli soldiers may have been facing Palestinians who were using the cover of demonstrating civilians to attempt to break through the border with the goal of murdering and kidnapping Israelis.

The following are the instructions to bring weapons, murder "soldiers and settlers," and kidnap Israeli citizens for use as bargaining chips to impose conditions on Israel:

"Rebelling young people,
Treat seriously and do not take lightly the requests to bring a knife, dagger, or handgun, if you have one, and to leave them under your clothes and not use them or show them, except if you identify one of the [Israeli] soldiers or settlers. Do not kill Israeli civilians, instead hand them over to the resistance immediately, because this is the point that Israel fears, as it knows that the capturer can set any condition he wants."
[Independent Palestinian Facebook page
"The Great March of Return", May 14, 2018]

The instructions also described how masses of Palestinians would "collectively" breach the security fence aided by bulldozers:

"At a certain time... there will be a collective advance towards the barbed wire fence until we remove it with our strong hands and exposed bodies all at once, while being aided by loudspeakers and calls of 'Allahu Akbar' (i.e., Allah is greatest) by the masses. Therefore, do not advance individually, make do with the collective advance according to the instructions, because there will be bulldozers at the back that will advance in order to completely remove the fence."

Gazans were instructed not to deal with "the wounded or the Martyrs" but to concentrate on "the battlefield":

"Do not busy yourselves with the wounded or the Martyrs (Shahids), as the medical teams behind us are ready for this. Just pay attention to the battlefield and act wisely and according to the instructions."

The portrayal of the events in Gaza by some news agencies as peaceful demonstrations is clearly false.

The Facebook page "The Great March of Return" was opened in March 2018 and states its goal as "live and continuous coverage of the activities of the Great March of Return." It posts updates from the march every few minutes and has around 6,000 followers. It is not clear if Hamas itself is involved in this page. The second Facebook page that ran the post is called "Gaza Now," [May 13, 2018] but the post was later removed from this page. Likewise, the instructions were shared in a forum thread on the "March of Return" protests on a Palestinian web forum named "PALDF." [May 13, 2018]

The following is the full translation of the instructions to Gazans to bring weapons, and murder and kidnap Israelis:

Posted text: "#IMPORTANT #Instructions for participants:
Rebelling young people,
Tomorrow, Monday [May 14, 2018], we will begin by standing along Jakkar Road from Beit Hanoun to Rafah at 10:00 a.m., and at a certain time that we will notify you about later there will be a collective advance towards the barbed wire fence until we remove it with our strong hands and exposed bodies all at once, while being aided by loudspeakers and calls of 'Allahu Akbar' (i.e., Allah is greatest) by the masses. Therefore, do not advance individually, make do with the collective advance according to the instructions, because there will be bulldozers at the back that will advance in order to completely remove the fence.

Rebelling young people,
Treat seriously and do not take lightly the requests to bring a knife, dagger, or handgun, if you have one, and to leave them under your clothes and not use them or show them, except if you identify one of the [Israeli] soldiers or settlers. Do not kill an Israeli civilian, instead hand them over to the resistance immediately, because this is the point that Israel fears, as it knows that the capturer can set any condition he wants.

Rebelling young people,
Disperse the [Israeli] snipers and make them leave their posts and run, and always check the area, and think what to do and then act. Do not busy yourselves with the wounded or the Martyrs (Shahids), as the medical teams behind us are ready for this. Just pay attention to the battlefield and act wisely and according to the instructions."

The same text was also posted on the independent Palestinian Facebook page "Gaza Now" on May 13, 2018, but was later removed. Likewise it was shared in a forum thread about the March of Return protests in Gaza on the Palestinian website PALDF on May 13, 2018.

NEW YORK, May 16, 2018

Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) President Morton A. Klein  and Director of Special Projects Liz Berney, Esq. released the following statement:

The New York Daily News cover outrageously mocked and demeaned Ivanka Trump at the U.S. Embassy opening in Jerusalem, Israel.  In addition, the Daily News cover falsely called the Hamas and Hamas-allied Molotov-cocktail-hurling mobs, bomb-planters and gunmen attempting to murder Israelis, mere "protesters," and falsely claimed that Israel's last resort defensive shootings of terrorists was a "slaughter."   The New York Daily News owes Ms. Trump – and Israel – and its readers an apology for its utterly shameful cover and related distorted stories.

The Daily News cover (which can be viewed at:  "New York Daily News Slammed for Mocking 'Deplorable' Ivanka Trump as 'Daddy's Little Ghoul'," by Brian Flood, Fox News, May 15, 2018) showed a picture of Ivanka Trump speaking at the U.S. Embassy opening, along with a caption of an allegedly wounded Gazan rioter (NOTE: many of these Gazan pictures are staged), together with utterly reprehensible, sexist, demeaning, distorted headlines, that blared:

"DADDY'S LITTLE GHOUL

"55 Slaughtered in Gaza, but Ivanka All Smiles at Jerusalem Embassy Unveil"

"A seemingly First Daughter Ivanka Trump puts on glamorous face for U.S. Embassy opening in Jerusalem on Monday, while 50 miles away in Gaza (top right), protesters remove one of injured in bloody clashes with Israelis."

"If the 30,000 Palestinians were allowed to cross those borders, instead of dead terrorists, we would have had dead Israelis. Would the world be more satisfied?"

In addition, an accompanying Daily News article, misleading entitled "Dozens of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces at Gaza border, thousands injured in protests over U.S. embassy move to Jerusalem," (by Christopher Brennan and Janon Fisher, New York Daily News, May 14, 2018) falsely called the U.S. Embassy opening "a major diplomatic fiasco . . . when Israeli forces killed more than 50 protesters and injured over 1,200 along the Gaza Strip during the festivities."

The New York Daily News' reference to Ivanka Trump as "Daddy's Little Ghoul" is sexist and demeaning.

Further, it is despicable and absurd for the Daily News to portray Ivanka Trump and all those who shared the joy of the seventy-years-overdue opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, Israel as "oblivious" to the events in Gaza –  and to wrongly portray those events in a manner that maligns Israel for defending herself.

The Daily News' shameful distorted headlines falsely call Hamas gunmen and bomb-planters mere "protesters" – and fail to even mention the multiple warnings Israel issued prior to engaging them.  Israel's self-defense is highly restrained; the Israel Defense Forces attempts to avoid injuries and deaths of civilians placed by Hamas as human shields; and only shoots when there is no other option.  This is not a "slaughter."  Every death in Gaza is solely the fault of Hamas.  As explained by former commander of British forces in Afghanistan Richard Kemp, who has recently spent time on the Gaza border observing Hamas-orchestrated violence:  "The true and malevolent purpose of Hamas's plan is to incite violence in such a way that the IDF has no choice but to respond with lethal force, killing Gaza civilians."  ("Expected Upsurge in Gaza Violence," by Richard Kemp, Gatestone Institute, May 13, 2018.)

Everyone at the U.S. Embassy opening was very well aware of the Hamas gunmen and Hamas-allied mobs along Israel's border with Gaza, who were ignoring Israel's warnings, burning tires to hide their shooting attacks, planting bombs along Israel's border, hurling and sending kites with Molotov cocktails to burn Israel's fields, and doing everything possible to carry out their stated intention to destroy Israel and to murder and "eat the livers" of innocent Jews.  "Eat the livers!"  (See "The World Goes for Israel's Throat," by Giulio Meotti, Israel Nat'l News, Apr. 3, 2018; "Fanning the Flames of Fire in Israel," by Stephen M. Flatow, Algemeiner, May 10, 2018.)

Indeed, in his speech, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu acknowledged the brave Israeli boys who were defending Israel's border, saying:

"We are here in Jerusalem, protected by the brave soldiers of the army of Israel, led by our Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot, and our brave soldiers, our brave soldiers are protecting the borders of Israel as we speak today. We salute them all, and the members of our security forces, the Shin Bet and the Mossad, whose head is with us today. We salute you all, all of you."  ("Full Text of Netanyahu's Speech at the Opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem," Times of Israel, May 14, 2018.)

Jared Kushner also stated at the embassy opening ceremony that Hamas' provocations at the border "today in Gaza are part of the problem and not part of the solution."

As Italian journalist Giulio Meotti noted: "If the 30,000 Palestinians were allowed to cross those borders, instead of dead terrorists, we would have had dead Israelis. Would the world be more satisfied?"

Would the Daily News be more satisfied if the Hamas mobs had succeeded?

Where is the New York Daily News' condemnation of the Hamas and Hamas-related attacks at Israel's border?

Unfortunately, throughout history, enemies have attempted to annihilate the Jewish people.  Dor v'Dor – in every generation.

Is the Daily News saying that there should have been no ceremony, or that Ivanka must wear a black shroud?  Should all the theatres and entertainment venues in Israel have been closed. Nonsense. We must show the Hamas Arab terrorists that they will not affect life as usual in Israel. Would the Daily News have Ivanka Trump – and the rest of the Jewish people and all of our friends – refrain forever from cracking a smile at joyous occasions such as the embassy opening – in order to honor enemies who deliberately chose our happiest moments to engage in their murderous violence?

Shame on the New York Daily News. And we urge all to write to the NY Daily News and bitterly complain.

For Israel, Today is One of Real Miracles

By Former Sen. Norm Coleman

The Hill

May 15, 2018

On March 21, 2016 Donald Trump, candidate for president of the United States of America, declared:

"We will move the American embassy to the eternal capital of the Jewish people, Jerusalem. And we will send a clear signal that there is no daylight between America and our most reliable ally, the state of Israel. The Palestinians must come to the table knowing that the bond between the United States and Israel is absolutely, totally unbreakable. They must come to the table willing and able to stop the terror being committed on a daily basis against Israel. They must do that. And they must come to the table willing to accept that Israel is a Jewish state and it will forever exist as a Jewish state."

This was a promise made by Republican and Democratic candidates for president since 1995.

On Dec. 6, 2017, President Trump stated "Therefore, I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel."

Today, Monday, May 14 at 9:00 a.m. Jerusalem time, the United States of America has officially moved its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

As an American at this ceremony my heart filled with pride that our nation has lived up to the commitment Congress made in 1995 to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Previous presidents, both Democrats and Republicans, chose to embrace the status quo and exercise their legal option to waive the requirement to locate our nation's embassy to Jerusalem.

To be sure, the safe decision, the politically correct one, would have been for President Trump to simply do what his predecessors had done.

But he made it clear that not only would he not seek refuge in a waiver, but his and America's support for Israel would not waver.

As a Jew, and as one who has fought for the existential right of Israel in a region where far too many of its neighbors seek its destruction, the emotion is difficult to describe.

In many ways it feels like the birth of my own children.

A new day, filled with hope and opportunity and promise for a better future.

Which is what all of us, those who live in America, those who are here for this ceremony and those who live in and outside of Israel should embrace in this historic moment.

Symbols of old fights, grudges and regimes must come down. The political correctness that outweighs bold acts of courage and commitment are needed today.

As Iran seeks to build a role as a regional leader, intent on dividing and conquering the Middle East, with a commitment to Israel's destruction, now is not the time to hide behind Congressional waivers.

Nor is it time to support ill-advised nuclear agreements with a regime that touts its defiance of its terms as it seeks to spread its poisonous hate and rhetoric of ruin throughout the world.

In choosing the path of change, President Trump is following in the path of American presidents before him.

Lincoln. Roosevelt. Truman. Reagan.

Each of them had it within their power to simply continue American policy on matters of consequential importance and by doing so they could have chosen to continue on the arc of existing history.

Each of them chose to look to the future, firmly seeing the past, and understanding that hope and promise was to be found in a different path forward.

There will be days ahead in which protagonists of the president, and those who disagree with his decision to recognize Jerusalem, will seem prescient.

Those in the Middle East who are rooted in the wars of the past will find reason and purpose and rationale to call for, inflame and inflict violence.

They are doing so now, and they will find in those who disagreed with President Trump's decision willing players in their propaganda.

I believe their days are numbered. I believe ideology and hatred is losing its hold on the people they are perceived to lead in the Middle East.

Moms and Dads of children in the Middle East are not unlike those in the United States. They wish for and seek a better life for their own children. They wish to see them live a long life, filled with opportunity and the chance to succeed.

President Trump has taken the false objection of the capital of Israel off the negotiating table. Those leaders now can see the forest for the trees if they choose to do so.

Today, is a new day.

A day of miracles. But, a day of reality.

A perfect day to remember the words of David Ben-Gurion, first prime minister of Israel:  "Anyone who doesn't believe in miracles is not a realist."

I am a realist.

Norm Coleman served in the U.S. Senate (R-MN) from 2003-2009. He is the national chairman of the Republican Jewish Coalition and head of the government relations and public affairs practice at Hogan Lovells.

Fwd: Mark Levin flew to Israel to be there for the embassy transfer. From TZC

Mark Levin has a massively popular program on SiriusXM channel 125 and is the founder of CRTV.com. Mr. Levin decided to fly to Israel for the weekend in order to be there for the embassy move and report on the situation there.

Upon his return, here is Mark Levin reporting on what he saw there. He begins talking about southern Israel, and then moves on to the real news that matters in the long run – Jerusalem. Throughout he talks about how our western media is reporting on both things going on there now, but when he talks he gives context, he will include the background rather than just a myopic view of the moment. It is instructive to hear the difference in the coverage when you only look at the moment, a common practice in reporting, and when you view things in context. Mr. Levin pulls no punches, what a refreshing thing to hear someone report and comment who is grounded in reality.
