Dear Friends, amv"sh

The time has come for Authentic Jewish Leadership.

The Leftists have taken over the media who have turned themselves into an occupying force in Israel.  Peace Now gets money from Germany and Americans for Peace Now is a member of the Conference of Presidents.

A Palestinian State and Ahmadenijad share Nazi ideology.  Why can't the JCPA and the Conference of Presidents see it?

1. News Analysis: Expert Says Israel is Under 'Media Occupation'

22 Elul 5768, 22 September 08 01:56
by Gil Ronen
(IsraelNN.com) Noted Middle East expert and commentator Dr. Guy Bechor accuses Israel's media of turning itself into an "occupying force" within Israel and behaving like an unelected, yet all-powerful, political machine.
In an article entitled "Down with the Occupation" that appears on his Hebrew-language website, Dr. Bechor – one of Israel's top experts on Middle Eastern affairs and a popular lecturer and interviewee – identifies a process that he says began after 2000.
"With the collapse of the Left in Israel's political system... and the tremendous disappointment from the 'peace process',"  he says, "a strange process began gathering force in Israel's media, which was, to begin with, a closed club numbering about 20 movers and shakers. Strange as it may sound, this media, which is supposed to cover events and report them, took a step forward and took upon itself to represent the Left which had collapsed in the Israeli populace. It became a political party."
Media crossed the lines
"No one gave [the media] this mandate," writes Bechor – who was himself a journalist for Army Radio and other news organizations. "No Divine order was given here, and in this act, it did not represent any democratic process, because at its core, the media in Israel is not elected and does not change. It is made up of several 'gurus' who carry on for decades, without any real change in its personal makeup."
The media in Israel, he emphasizes, "has turned into an active political force that serves as a substitute for the political parties of the past. The more the Left in Israel shrank in size, the greater its influence became in the media, although [this influence] was always hidden and camouflaged."
"Thus the Israeli media crossed the lines, and moved away from its western counterparts. Thus it also betrayed the Israeli public, which expected, and expects to this day, that it will cover events."
Anti-sephardic but Arab-idolizing
Bechor claims that young journalists who do not toe the leftist line know that they will not be promoted. While they do not tout themselves as leftists, he says, "their entire essence is just that. The disparagement of patriotism and of the military, the dislike of the government… the self-praise as a 'peace' camp, the revulsion from Middle Eastern Judaism combined with an idolization of the Arabs, and the deep-seated grudge against the Right, against Netanyahu (the Waldemort of Israeli politics) and capitalism."
Even the state-run media – Channel 1 TV, Voice of Israel Radio, IDF Radio and Educational TV – has come under the control of "the party," Bechor notes, as have Channel 10, Ha'aretz and recently Ma'ariv. "As the Israeli government is weakened and scorned, and talented people stay away from it, a vacuum is formed, into which this party media enters with great force," he says.
The media crowned Livni
The political media served as investigator and judge in the latest war in Lebanon, Bechor states, and now it has decided who will be Israel's prime minister, too, while cancelling democracy, in effect. The media, he says, strengthened Tzipi Livni, "hoisted her up with false polls, and cheered when she appeared to win. It is true that some feeble protests were heard here and there in view of the unbelievable scandals in the latest elections, but the caravan moved on, needless to say. It is easy to surmise how the same media party would have reacted if [Transport Minister Shaul] Mofaz had beat his rival by one percentage point. Indeed, the media is manipulating politicians instead of being manipulated by them."
Politicians terrified
The change in Israel's media over the last three decades is one that induces despair, Dr. Bechor says. "The politicians are terrified of this process, which they view with fear, because these same 'commentators' and 'journalists' are stronger and more stable then they are. The politicians depend on them and so they are afraid to talk." Bechor even adds that certain prominent female television reporters, whom he does not name, supplement their incomes by holding news panels on Sabbaths, which the politicians know they must participate in, or else.
"Because we are not a healthy society, this process proceeds smoothly," Bechor sums up. "The more powerful it becomes, the more the undemocratic disease spreads. It is time to say 'no more.'" He recommends abstaining from Israel's Hebrew language mainstream press and says that alternative media channels hold the hope for a better future.

On Sunday, September 21st, 2008, the head of Israel Military Intelligence provided the  first official report to the Israeli cabinet that the Israeli intelligence community had come to the definitive conclusion that all diplomatic efforts to stem Iranian development of nuclear weapons had failed and that Iran was, indeed, well on the way to producing its first nuclear weapon.

See: "Iran Has Enough Material To Make A Nuclear Weapon", Philadelphia Bulletin, 09/22/2008, http://tinyurl.com/4e6np9

JTA, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, did not report the IMI report to the Israeli cabinet, despite its alarming newsworthy significance.

Instead, on Monday, September 22, 2008, JTA featured and distributed an oped penned by the head of Americans for Peace Now, entitled "Engaging in diplomacy with Iran is a sensible, responsible policy", which advocated the notion that diplomatic negotiations with Iran is posssible.

The APN oped made no reference the seminal report from the day before from Israeli intelligence that all diplomatic efforts with Iran had failed.

The APN oped also failed to disclose that Peace Now  receives funds from the German government [along with five other European governments] and that the position of the German government is identical to the APN oped, which is that diplomatic and trade relations with Iran must continue..

Our World: Your abortions or your lives!

Sep. 22, 2008
Caroline Glick , THE JERUSALEM POST

American Jews have good reason to be ashamed and angry today. As Iran moves
into the final stages of its nuclear weapons development program - nuclear
weapons which it will use to destroy the State of Israel, endanger Jews
around the world and cow the United States of America - Democratic American
Jewish leaders decided that putting Sen. Barack Obama in the White House is
more important than protecting the lives of the Jewish people in Israel and
around the world.

On Monday, the New York Sun published the speech that Republican vice
presidential nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would have delivered at
that day's rally outside UN headquarters in New York against Iranian
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and against Iran's plan to destroy Israel. She
would have delivered it, if she hadn't been disinvited.

The rally was co-sponsored by the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish
Organizations, the National Coalition to Stop Iran Now, The Israel Project,
United Jewish Communities, the UJA-Federation of New York and the Jewish
Council for Public Affairs. Its purpose was to present a united American
Jewish front against Iran's genocidal leader and against its genocidal
regime which is developing nuclear weapons with the stated intention of
committing the second Holocaust in 80 years.

Palin's speech is an extraordinary document. In its opening paragraph she
made clear that Iran presents a danger not just to Israel, but to the US.
And not just to some Americans, but to all Americans. Her speech was a
warning to Iran - and anyone else who was listening - that Americans are not
indifferent to its behavior, its genocidal ideology and the barbarity of its
regime. Rather, they are outraged.

After that opening, Palin's speech set out clearly how Iran is advancing its
nuclear project, why it must be prevented from acquiring nuclear weapons and
why and how the regime itself must be opposed by all right thinking people -
not just Israelis and Americans - but by all people who value human freedom.

PALIN'S SPEECH was a message of national - rather than simply Republican -
resolve against Iran's nuclear weapons program and its active involvement in
global and regional terrorism. She made this point by quoting statements
that Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton has made against the Iranian regime.

The speech detailed Iran's past and current attacks against the US,
beginning with its bombing of US servicemen in Lebanon in 1983 and
continuing with Iran's proxy war against US forces in Iraq and against
Iraqis who oppose its intention of taking control of their country.

By discussing Iran's role in Iraq she not only made a convincing case for
why an American victory there is essential for defeating Iran. She also made
clear that Iran is actively making war against the US, not just Israel.

From Iran's war against Israel, the US, and freedom loving peoples
worldwide, Palin's speech turned to the regime's war against its own people.
She attacked the regime for its systematic repression of Iranian women. She
applauded the extraordinary bravery of women like Delaram Ali who risked
their lives and their families to demand basic rights for Iranian women.
Ali, she noted, was sentenced to 10 lashes and three years in prison for
having the courage to speak out. An international outcry has temporarily
suspended her sentence.

Then Palin returned to Iran's nuclear weapons program and its support for
terrorist groups pledged to Israel's destruction and to the destruction of
the US. She returned to Ahmadinejad's calls for Israel's annihilation. She
reiterated Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain's solemn
promise to work with Israel to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons
and she joined her name to his promise to stand side by side with Israel to
prevent another Holocaust.

IF PALIN had been allowed to deliver this speech at Monday's rally, she
would done just what the organizers of the rally, and what the Jewish people
in Israel, America and worldwide need to have done. She would have elevated
the imperative of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and the
implicit moral and strategic imperative of overthrowing the regime in
Teheran to the top of America's national security agenda. Given the massive
media attention she garners at all of her public appearances, Palin's
participation in the rally would have done more to steel Americans - across
the political spectrum - to the cause of opposing Iran than 10 UN Security
Council sanctions resolutions could do.

It was a remarkable speech, prepared by a remarkable woman. But it was not
heard. It was not heard because the Democratic Party and Jewish Democrats
believe that their partisan interest in demonizing Palin and making
Americans generally and American Jews in particular hate and fear her to
secure their votes for Obama and his running-mate Sen. Joseph Biden in the
November election is more important than allowing Palin to elevate the
necessity of preventing a second Holocaust to the top of the US's national
security agenda.

The rally's organizers invited both Clinton and Palin to speak. It was a
wise move. In light of Iran's monstrous oppression of Iranian women, had the
two most powerful women in American politics joined forces in opposing the
regime and its war against human freedom, their appearance would have sent a
message of American unity and resolve that would have reverberated not just
throughout the US and in the US presidential race, but throughout the world
and into Iran itself. But it was not to be.

The moment that Clinton found out that she was to share a stage with Palin,
she cancelled her appearance. By cancelling, she signaled to Jewish
Democrats - and Democrats in general - that opposing Palin and the
Republican Party is more important than opposing Ahmadinejad and the
genocidal regime he represents.

THE JEWISH Democrats on the rally's organizing committee got the message
loud and clear. Two of the rally's co-sponsors - the Jewish Council for
Public Affairs and the UJA Federation of New York demanded that the
Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations disinvite Palin.

The JCPA is led by Steven Gutow. Before joining the JCPA, he served as the
founding executive director of the National Jewish Democratic Council, which
is the Jewish support arm of the Democratic Party. The UJA Federation of New
York is led by John Ruskay, who began his Jewish communal career as an
anti-Israel "peace" activist in the radical CONAME and Breira organizations.
Among their other endeavors, CONAME and Breira opposed US military
assistance to Israel during the Yom Kippur War and called for US recognition
of the PLO after the group massacred 26 children in Ma'alot in 1974.

Gutow and Ruskay were supported in their demand to disinvite Palin by the
National Jewish Democratic Council and by the new Jewish pro-Palestinian
lobbying group J-Street.

In an attempt to assuage Gutow and Ruskay, the rally organizers invited
Biden to speak. But he had a scheduling conflict. So the organizers
contacted the Obama campaign and asked it to send a representative. The
campaign offered Congressman Robert Wexler.

But the Democrats knew that Wexler would be no match for Palin. So they
continued on the warpath, absurdly claiming that by inviting Palin (and
Clinton, Biden and Wexler), the organizers were endangering the sponsoring
organizations' tax-exempt status. That is, through Ruskay and Gutow, in
their bid to prevent Palin from appearing at the rally, the Democrats
threatened to bring down the organized Jewish community.

Never mind that the threat is absurd. The likelihood that the Internal
Revenue Service would open an investigation against every major American
Jewish organization for daring to invite Palin to a rally opposing
Ahmadinejad's appearance at the UN and Iran's stated intention of
annihilating Israel is just slightly smaller than the prospect of
Ahmadinejad wrapping himself in an Israeli flag and singing "Hatikva" on the
UN rostrum.

But no matter. The fear that these Democratic Jews would openly split the
Jewish community on the need to confront Iran frightened the organizers. The
notion that the Democratic Party, and its Jewish supporters would openly
turn their backs on the need to confront Iran to advance the political
fortunes of their party and their party's presidential slate was too much to
take. Palin was disinvited.

LIBERAL AMERICAN Jews, like liberal Americans in general, and indeed like
their fellow leftists in Israel and throughout the West, uphold themselves
as champions of human rights. They claim that they care about the underdog,
the wretched of the earth. They care about the environment. They care about
securing American women's unfettered access to abortions. They care about
keeping Christianity and God out of the public sphere. They care about
offering peace to those who are actively seeking their destruction so that
they can applaud themselves for their open-mindedness and tell themselves
how much better they are than savage conservatives.

Those horrible, war-mongering, Bambi killing, unborn baby defending,
God-believing conservatives, who think that there are things worth going to
war to protect, must be defeated at all costs. They must intimidate, attack,
demonize and defeat those conservatives who think that the free women of the
West should be standing shoulder to shoulder not with Planned Parenthood,
but with the women of the Islamic world who are enslaved by a misogynist
Shari'a legal code that treats them as slaves and deprives them of control
not simply of their wombs, but of their faces, their hair, their arms, their
legs, their minds and their hearts.

The lives of 6 million Jews in Israel are today tied to the fortunes of
those women, to the fortunes of American forces in Iraq, to the willingness
of Americans across the political and ideological spectrum to recognize that
there is more that unifies them than divides them and to act on that
knowledge to defeat the forces of genocide, oppression, hatred and
destruction that are led today by the Iranian regime and personified in the
brutal personality of Ahmadinejad. But Jewish Democrats chose to ignore this
basic truth in order to silence Palin.

They should be ashamed. The Democratic Party should be ashamed. And Jewish
American voters should consider carefully whether opposing a woman who
opposes the abortion of fetuses is really more important than standing up
for the right of already born Jews to continue to live and for the Jewish
state to continue to exist. Because this week it came to that.

Malcolm Hoenlein's Dirty Little Secret

Here is another example of Malcolm Hoenlein's betrayal to the Jewish People.  As you know, Malcolm Hoenlein and the Conference of Presidents endorse a Palestinian State and are active in the negotiations to establish a Palestinian State whose ideology is no different than Nazi Germany. How stupid of us to allow him to be our leading spokesperson for the War on Terror?   The disinvite of Palin shows the emptiness of his convictions and we can  predict the worthlessness of the Conference of Presidents in the fight against terror.

Let's get ourselves some authentic Leadership for the Jewish People! Only when we speak out strongly against a Palestinian State and for the Sovereignty of the Jewish People of the Land of Israel based on the Torah we will weaken Ahmadinijad and Iran considerably.    At this point we must rely on G-d in heaven to help us.

Of course we are terrified about the proliferation of nuclear capabilities of Iran.

One single plane, not even a weappon of mass destruction wreaked havoc on 9/11.  Hurricane Katrina wreated havoc in New Orleans.

G-d has many messengers.

Let us recognize that it is our own rejection of our birthright and our stupid endorsement of a Nazi like Palestinian State that can kindle the fury of G-d who has created the world and has chosen to give the Land of Israel to the People of Israel as a Divine gift.

Malcolm Hoenlein's Dirty Little Secret Revealed:
Tenet No Obstacle to Pollard Release

Source: JTA - CIA Chief George Tenet Quits by Matthew E. Berger

J4JP Release - June 4, 2004

For nearly a decade Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive VP of the Conference of Presidents, has kept a dirty little secret which may well have held the key to Jonathan Pollard's prison cell. Now, years later, Hoenlein has just revealed this secret (text below) - not to help Jonathan Pollard, but to praise resigning CIA Director, George Tenet!

In a June 3, 2004 interview with Matthew E. Berger ["CIA Chief George Tenet Quits", JTA, 06/04/04] Hoenlein describes a phone call he received from CIA Director, George Tenet, immediately after the Wye Summit in 1998. According to Hoenlein, Tenet called him because was genuinely upset about what had happened at Wye; and he denied that he had ever threatened to resign if Jonathan Pollard were freed.

By way of background: when President Clinton reneged on the U.S. commitment to free Jonathan Pollard as an integral part of the Wye accords in 1998, an excuse was created: "CIA Director George Tenet threatened to resign if Pollard goes free."

This was not only untrue, it was a ridiculous excuse. Its implausibility was vividly demonstrated a few months later when Clinton freed the FALN terrorists over Tenets' vehement objections and actual threat to resign.

In spite of the valiant efforts of the Pollard team to set the record straight, it became virtually impossible to overcome the White House spin in the media that Tenet's threat to resign nullified all efforts to free Jonathan Pollard. Over the years, this canard has become thoroughly entrenched and used by Jewish leaders as an excuse for inaction.

The only Jewish leader, it appears, who knew that this obstacle to Jonathan's release was utterly false, was Malcolm Hoenlein. Hoenlein is not a private citizen, but the Executive Vice President of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations - the one man with the position and the authority to act on this knowledge, to publicize it, to galvanize support and to garner the resources to lobby quickly, quietly and effectively for truth and justice.

Imagine if Mr. Hoenlein would have publicly revealed then, what he just shared now: that George Tenet himself swore that he never threatened to resign over the release of Jonathan Pollard. All of the excuses built around Tenet's objections at the time could have be stripped away. Israel and the American Jewish leaders could have been empowered to insist that Clinton honor the commitment made as integral part of the Wye Accords to free Jonathan Pollard. And Jonathan Pollard could have gone free nearly a decade ago.

Instead, a great dishonor was done to Israel and to the Jewish community when Hoenlein waited nearly a decade to reveal this critical piece of information. Worse still, he did so not in support of justice for Jonathan Pollard, but in praise of Pollard's nemesis, George Tenet.

In the same JTA article, it is worthy of note that many other Jewish leaders - who have been struck dumb about Jonathan Pollard - joined Hoenlein in lionizing Tenet.

Note also that, according to the reporter, Jewish leaders continue to speak of Jonathan's espionage as "treason" - a crime which Jonathan was never accused, indicted, nor convicted of.

Here is the excerpt from the JTA article "CIA Chief George Tenet Quits":

..."But Tenet's role in the Pollard affair was more controversial.

President Clinton had agreed to release Pollard, a former U.S. Navy intelligence analyst who spied for Israel, as part of the Wye framework. But Tenet said he would not be able to face the intelligence community if Pollard was freed, and according to some reports, threatened to resign immediately. Clinton then took releasing Pollard off the table.

"We were really shocked at the vehemence he showed at Wye over that issue," said one former Israeli official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Tenet has denied he made that threat, and called Malcolm Hoenlein, executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, practically in tears the day the story broke.

"He truly was very emotional and very upset about it," Hoenlein said. "He said that was not the way he did things, and from our experience, that was not the way he did things."

But while the incident frustrated Jewish leaders who had sought Pollard's freedom, it did not sour their views of Tenet. Many said they understood that Tenet was speaking on behalf of an organization that sees no greater treason than espionage."

J4JP Concludes:

How troubling it is that Jewish leaders are so willing to "understand" the position of the CIA , that they have completely blinded themselves to the key elements of the Pollard case:

  • a grossly disproportionate sentence
  • a broken plea agreement (which Jonathan honored and the US violated)
  • the use of secret evidence
  • a false charge of treason
  • ineffective assistance of counsel
  • ex parte communication between prosecutors and judge
  • a lack of due process
  • a sentencing procedure infected by false allegations and lies

All of these add up to a double standard of justice which poses an immeasurable threat to the Jewish Community - a threat which is not going to disappear because the Jewish leadership chooses to ignore it. As long as Jonathan Pollard remains in prison, both Israel and the American Jewish community remain at risk.

In a letter dated March 10, 1987 - six days after Jonathan Pollard was unjustly sentenced to life, the Conference of Presidents sent a letter to George Shultz Secretary of State, pledging the support of the Jewish community and clearly signaling that the Pollard issue is of no consequence to the Jews. The Conference promised in that letter not to intervene on behalf of Jonathan Pollard - a promise which Jewish leaders have kept to this day. The revelation of Malcolm Hoenlein's dirty little secret is just the latest chapter in an on-going saga of betrayal.

Letter to Mort Klein ZOA Re: Statement on Palin Disinvitation to Anti-Iran Rally to ZOA Board and Reg...

bs"d

Dear Mort Klein, amv"sh,

With Palin or w/o Palin, I believe you are missing the point.  This Monday's rally serves no other purpose than as a good PR ploy for a hypocritical organization called the Conference of Presidents and their sweet talking Executive Vice Chairman Malcolm Hoenlein.  Their show of "standing up to evil" is merely a bluff.

Why don't people understand that Malcolm Hoenlein and/or the Conference of Presidents not only endorse but are also active participants in promoting the 2 State Solution, and a Palestinian state.  A Palestinian State, whose origins go back to Houseini an ally to Hitler, has an ideology that mirrors Nazi Germany.

Rafi Ruppin writes

During the last 90 years since the Balfour declaration promising the Jews a national home in Palestine, the Arabs have attacked Jews again and again. The battle cry was 'Itbah el Yahud' (kill the Jews). Any and every Jew was their target. Soon these murders were organized by the Arab high Committee and its leader, Houseini, better known as the 'Grand Mufti' (the great Moslem leader). Parallel to murderous assaults on Jews the Arab educational system was recruited in the service of the Jihad against the Jews from kinder-gardens, to schools, to colleges and mosques. People were brain washed to believe that the ultimate duty of Moslems is to drive the Jews into the sea. Palestine is to be 'Judenrein' as the Nazi slogan was.

During WW2 the grand Mufti and some of his aids found shelter in Hitler's Germany. In a recorded meeting with Hitler, the Mufti pledged his full support to Hitler's war and particularly praised his policy towards the Jews. The Mufti requested Germany's assistance in teaching and preparing Arabs to act likewise.

Why can't people see that the ones that they so much admire and revere, aka Malcolm Hoenlein and  the Conference of Presidents, are themselves the indirect cause of the rising strength of Iran and Ahmadinejad  by appeasing and placating Iran's allies, namely Syria and Hizbollah, Hamas and the PA, releasing terrorists and  likeminded  terrorist bullies. For all practical purposes, The Conference of Presidents is promoting a State with the same ideology as Hitler and Ahmadinejad Yimach Shemom..

People are fooled because these sweet talkers come out speaking like a pig.

The pig says, "See how Kosher I am with my kosher split hooves"  The Conference of Presidents say, "See how I lead in this "war"  against Terror!!!!

( but actually it's just a protest to show -off, just a phony war for PR sake on camera)

To really fight terror, I would begin with a protest rally against  the Conference of Presidents  Speaking out with contempt publicly against our fellow "Jews" is not as some "frum" Jews would argue Sinas Chinam, baseless hatred.  Quite the opposite.  Exposing our fellow Jews to the dangers of depending on "leaders" that actually empower terror  is an act of loving kindness for mankind.  We have no choice but to raise awareness to the typical, ignorant and naive Jew who is clueless that their leaders are misrepresenting them and in fact are practically a proven bunch of cowardly hypocrites when it comes to fighting terror.

The Palin scenario simply exposes the hidden secret motives of this rally which is politics and pr and not really to counter terrorism.  Unfortunately for them it backfired and their political ambitions clashed with their "looking good" in their "fight against terror".

Truthfully, it is not possible to unite against Iran and Ahmadinejad unless we unite for the Torah and get G-d on our side.

Unless the Jewish people are worthy by really desiring the Land, expressing entitlement to the Land, and  desire to observe the commandments in the Land,   all protest is a waste of time.   Ahmadinejad is only G-d's messenger. By endorsing the establishment of a Palestinian State we are scorning our birthright!  This weeks Parsha, Ki Savo was quite clear as to the blessings if we keep G-d's law and the Tochaha, the curses when we don't.  There is no middle ground.

Let us put our energies into getting the Jews to want the Land of Israel and to keep the Torah in the Land of Israel.  Then we will be worthy of G-d's salvation and our enemies will with G-d's help  dissipate like the wind.

Sincerely,

Robin Ticker

FROM:            Morton A. Klein, President, Zionist Organization of America

TO:                  ZOA National Board and Regions

The following statement is from Morton A. Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America.

"The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) strongly opposes the disinvitation of Vice-Presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin to be one of many speakers at a "stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons rally."  This rally will also protest the presence of Iran's president Ahmadinejad at the United Nations on Monday, September 22. This is an anti-Iran rally, not a partisan political rally, as Democratic Senator Hilary Clinton was invited as was vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden and later Democratic Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida.  Clinton withdrew and Biden apparently couldn't attend.

"Under tremendous pressure from Jewish Democrats and liberal Jewish groups, Palin's invitation was withdrawn with a decision made not to include any politicians. Why are we excluding political leaders who have the real power to act on this critical issue?  The ZOA believes this was a serious mistake.

"This was not a political rally for any party or individual. All Democrats and Republicans are united against Ahmadinejad developing nuclear weapons which he indicated he would use "to wipe Israel and America off the map."  We thought that one of the themes of Democrats this year was "promoting unity" and "bringing people together."  Well, here was an opportunity to do just that on an issue we can all support and certain groups and interests have caused us to fail.  The ZOA is so disappointed by this unnecessary and harmful outcome.

"At this rally, there would be no implied or explicit endorsement of any candidate or party, only a unified condemnation of Ahmadinejad.  No one was going to speak about politics, only about loving America and Israel, and fighting Iran, and standing up to evil.

"The ZOA deeply regrets that certain Jewish groups and individuals believed the inadvertent benefit that would accrue to Sarah Palin outweighed the enormous benefit that Israel and the United States would receive when a Vice-Presidential candidate and others give visibility and power to this life and death issue.

"It seems for these people politics and their personal political agenda were more important than Israel and America's security.  This wrong-headed action of cancelling the appearance of major political leaders hurt Israel and the United States.  Ahmadinejad must be delighted that those who oppose his policies are so divided they can't even stand on the same stage to condemn him.  I assure you, if we were holding a rally to condemn an internationally-known racist, anti-Black leader, no one would dare disinvite a speaker and no speaker would dare back out.

"The ZOA strongly urges that Sarah Palin be reinvited along with any other key Democratic or Republican leaders.

"Otherwise, this will become a day of shame and humiliation for the Jewish people instead of a day of Jewish pride, strength, courage, and will.  On this day, we should have put aside all other political interests and together fight against this existential threat against Israel and major threat to the United States and the entire western world."

Fwd: 5768.12.19 Israel Land of My Possession; URGENT CRY Re: Fw: Renanah's presentation about Rabbi Weissmandl, Matot Arim

bs"d

1.  Rabbi Weissmandl and his Unheeded cry.  A lesson to be learned for our generation.
2.  Matot Arim - True Activists of Substance.
---------------------------------------------------------

1.  Please email faigerayzel@gmail.com for a report by Renanah Goldhar taken from the book The Unheeded Cry.

This report describes how Rabbi Weismandl pleaded with his fellow Jews to help save the Jews in Europe and it fell upon deaf ears thereby allowing thousands upon thousands of Jews to be sent to the death camps each and every day. Had we acted in strength in 1938 as events started to develop we very probably would have prevented the Holocaust.

Very ominous signs in current events are forshadowing another Nazi like regime with the establishment of a Palestinian State. One must recognize that a Palestinian State is equivalent to a  Hitler State chas vechalila and therefore we must stop it with the harshness it deserves.  The sooner the better.

Renana presented a report to the Holocaust Ed. Week two years ago. Please read her report.  These are my conclusions about how to best prevent another Holocaust chas vechalila. .

YESHA must be united.  YESHA Rabbis and residents need to collectively cry out as Weismandl did. Their cries must be boosted by each and every caring Jew.  Their cry must pierce the offices of Agudath Yisroel of America, the Young Israel, the OU and Chabad International.  Each of these offices have thousands of Rabbanim and Shuls on their internal databases.  Each of these Rabbanim and Shuls must be instructed to take up the cry for YESHA, home to hundreds of thousands of Jews.   With all the present day Outreach and Kiruv Organizations in place,  each and every nonaffiliated Jew can also be reached to speak out for YESHA.  Every man, women and child is capable of writing a letter or making a telephone call.

Mainstream activism of major Jewish Organizations has not only been noneffective but actually counterproductive.

The CCJER, the Coordinating Council for Jerusalem established to speak up for a Unified Jerusalem has caused more damage than one can imagine.  It neutralized any activism against Oslo and against Annapolis and against the Roadmap and against Land for Peace Concessions.  It succeeded to convince people that something was being done on behalf of Jerusalem when in reality concessions and plans for a Palestinian State went forward with alarming speed.

And then when it became apparent that neighborhoods of Jerusalem are on the concession list under "confidence building measures" CCJER was "surprisingly" silent. Their moment to fame was merely a concert where everyone sang a bunch of songs about their love for Jerusalem while clearly not advocating any kind of real activism of substance to benefit the communities and hundreds of thousands of individuals at risk of expulsion in Judea and Samaria.

The Jews of YESHA must join forces.  Hebron can not just have fundraisers for Hebron alone and Beit Orot have fundraisers just  for Beit Orot, and Manhigut Yehudit  have fund raisers for just  Manhigut Yehudit and Yeshiva of Sderot Yeshiva have fundraisers for Sderot Yeshiva and Beit El just for Beit El and the list goes on and on.  Many of these worthy organizations even used Nachum Segal as emcee. (nachum Segal is a loyal promoter of Malcolm Hoenlein an active negotiator for a Palestinian State, partnering with Abbas, a Hitler admirer, as a legitimate "peace partner").. Our fight must be to join forces and collectively speak up for YESHA and our entitlement for YESHA and the justification of our people to defend the right to live and settle on every inch of YESHA.

Any non Jew has the right to live in Yesha as a Ger Toshav but they must accept Jewish Sovereignty.  Otherwise let them find other accommodations.  We must be prepared to fight any aggression be it Kassam or Yassam.  We have every moral justification and obligation  to stay and defend the right to our Land.

For this we need a Rabbinic Board for Yesha that will decide matters based on our Torah and Jewish Heritage similar to a Sanhedrin.  We need a fighting force and Leaders that will recognize this hour of need and step up to the plate and lead against the empowerment of the Amalek of our time.

The people of Yesha  are at least as justified as the 13 Colonies who were willing to fight for their freedom simply because of "Taxation w/o Representation".  Surely the residents of Yesha have paid their taxes to the current government who have failed to protect their most loyal citizens and even much worse,  have plans for the destruction of their homes and communities. If we speak out forcefully on our right to defend our Land this will deter the gov't of Israel from taking any more steps towards the delegitimization of the Settlers of Yesha and our rights to YESHA. However if we take a meek stand of protest, a puppet protest,  and show unwillingness to really fight armed forces with armed forces,  then the Yassam bullies will be sent out in full force.

2. Letter from Susie Dym - Matot Arim - True Activists of Substance.

This Sat. nite: "Melaveh Malka"-style party at Yitzhar

Yitzhar is the community in which a 9 year old child was thrown off a porch and stabbed by a Palestinian terrorist. The media was uniformly strongly against - no, no, not against the terrorist! Against the settlers! If you are looking for a fascinating experience, get to Yitzhar this Saturday night 20 September at 9 PM. Excellent band -- Yirmiyahu veChaverim -- many of whose members are themselves from Yitzhar --and excellent atmosphere. Enjoy

MATTOT ARIM NEEDS GRAPHIC ARTISTS AND $, TO HELP WARN TEL-AVIV ABOUT DANGER

Mattot Arim hopes to soon distribute information to the inhabitants of Israel's big cities explaining to them exactly what will happen to them if a Palestinian state ever comes into existence (answer: constant rockets everywhere -- like in Sderot). To do this we urgently need volunteer, Hebrew speaking GRAPHIC ARTISTS (please contact mattot.arim@gmail.com  and mark your email URGENT). We also need FINANCIAL GIFTS. As little as 200 NIS allows us to warn one thousand Israeli families. Ideally, we would like to  warn whole citiesful of Israelis, and that translates into huge printing and distribution costs. If you can help, write out your shekel or $ check to the Matteh leMaan Eretz Yisrael and send to: POB 1588, Rehovot Israel (please notify us of your generosity by email to sddym@bezeqint.net if possible).  We hope we can do this – with everybody's help!

Here's what an important expert has to say about the danger of a Palestinian state:  http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1221142472433&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

MAKE 2 PHONE-CALLS: JUSTICE FOR GUSH KATIF DEPORTEES

Dear friends --We need your voice for JUSTICE. It is difficult and tiring for the Gush Katif deportees - fighting the wheels of bureaucracy and lack of caring on their own for 3 long years. Please read the latest:

The following defects were discovered under several caravans allocated to Gush Katif deportees by the Government:

* sewage flowing openly  beneath the residence

* electric wires exposed and without  protection sleeves , without colored warning tape, and without sand to protect from land movement

* families involved  forced to sleep over neighbors several days and nights waiting for TEMPORARY repairs -- major repairs will have to be done.

* No one is willing to take financial responsibility for the repairs costing thousand of shekels caused by slap-dash "building" of the caravans by Government contractors to enable the all-important deportation to go through on time.

* Gov't: We have no responsibility for the caravans because they were rented to the expellees (has anybody ever heard of a landlord who got away with claiming he is not responsible for repairs?? this is complete balderdash!!)

Yet again ,the Gush Katif expellees bear the brunt of dysfunctional and callous government agencies. Call the relevant senior Gov't officials and ask what on earth is going on: Michal Ben David 0526130020  Motti Elimelech 050-6205064.

1. Will we allow the Gedoilim to receive Divine Retribution for their Silence and for their indirect liability for what happened in Gush Katif?  Perek Hakones in Baba Kama.

2. Clarifying to Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky that indeed this is a very clear matter of  Pikuach Nefesh.   Thank you Susie Dym

1. Perek Hakones in Baba Kama.  Comments by Robin

My 10 year old son in 5th grade started Gemara and is learning Hakones in Baba Kama.  In order to help him study I learned this section.

Hakones in Perek 6 in Baba Kama. There is a  Braisa where Rabbi Yehoshua says there are 4 cases of monetary loss for which the perpetrator is not liable to pay under the law of man but is liable under the laws of heaven like in the case of  one that breaches the wall of a coral thereby allowing the sheep to escape when the coral was properly closed by its owner. Such a person is not liable by the laws of man for damages incurred as a result of his actions because his action did not directly cause the damage but rather indirectly.  But he is liable under the laws of heaven.

I understood that one that breached the wall is liable under the laws of heaven because of Grama, they caused damage indirectly. I thought to myself that this is why many in Yesha have said to themselves that the Gedoilim will receive Divine Retribution.  Indirectly their silence has caused Damage to those in Yesha and caused very serious damage to those from Gush Katif.  True that one cannot demand from them to repay the citizens of Gush Katif for the destruction of their homes but under the laws of heaven they are liable as well..

Apparently these Rabbanim who are silent don't see that their silence caused any damage.  They perhaps put the entire blame on the secular Zionist State.Perhaps they say that who knows if we would have spoken up it would have made a difference?

But the Yesha people clearly recognize that the collective silence of the majority of Jews is a major factor leading to the "success" of the expulsion.

That brings us to the Yesha people who refuse to bring testimony against the Rabbinic Leadership who have remained silent.  Privately they believe and understand that these Rabbanim will suffer Divine Retribution.  However they do not unite and testify against them.  Doesn't that also make them liable under the laws of heaven.  The Rabbanim are perhaps blind as to the damage that they are incurring and have incurred.

Perhaps if the testimony of the Yesha leaders were public, against the Silent Rabbinic Leadership, then the Rabbinic Leadership would admit to their mistake, take the proper leadership role and bring the Nation of Israel to the proper spiritual level of desiring the Land of Israel, declaring their own entitlement,  thereby making our Nation deserving of Salvation from Hashem.

2. Rabbi Shmuel Kamenetsky, This is clearly a matter of Pikuach Nefesh!  Thank you Susie Dym - Matot Arim.

In view of this crucial interview by former Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense C'ttee chairman Dr. Yuval Steinitz, a supporter of both Oslo and the disengagement, in which Steinitz warns specifically that a Palestinian state will destroy Israel, we ask that you take immediate steps to modify American policy so as to stop support for the Palestinian state notion which is a terrible danger to us here as explained aptly by Dr. Steinitz. In parallel we are working here, but the change MUST come from BOTH sides of the ocean as you know. Thank you very much indeed.

There is a growing consensus in Israel that a withdrawal from the West Bank is no longer possible….The reason is obvious: Israel …does not want Qassam rockets against Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Ben-Gurion International Airport. Most Israelis assume, in view of the experience from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, that any territory that will be evacuated will become a launching pad for rocket attacks against Israel. 3. Rabbi Algaze. Chareidi Rabbanim do not have their hands tied.  They choose to be Silent.

In a message dated 9/16/2008 3:07:23 PM Eastern Daylight Time, dalgaze@nyc.rr.com writes:
Dear Robin,

The Haredi Rabbis have their hands tied? Nonsense. They tie their own hands. A leader cannot claim to be a leader and complain that he does not have power. If they choose not to use it that is a choice, not a necessity.

I read with great sadness the analysis by Rabbi Hollander of the motives behind the gedolim's silence. He may be right that some decisions may be costly, that the rabbis do not have the information the government had and so on. My response is, What decision does not carry some potential danger? Moreover, is not remaining silent in itself a decision? When one chooses not to decide, that in itself is a decision. Don't the esteemed rabbis fear that that decision too may be very grave?

With regard to Rabbi Steinsaltz' humble acknowledgment that he does not have all the information the government has and therefore he believes that the government decision is better? What does "information" have to do with ideology? If Meretz is in government or the Arab parties and they have "better" information, will that in itself allow them to make a better decision? That argument seems very spurious to me. On the matter of information, or military and security options, there is always some choices. It depends on which general you consult. You well remember that a Commander who disagreed with the disengagement was forced out of office. Obviously, he had a different opinion than the government's and the reason he was sidelined was not because they had better information but because they subscribed to a different viewpoint. Is Rabbi Steinsaltz so naive as to believe that better information leads necessarily to better decisions? I doubt it . I respect Rabbi Steinsaltz's mind too much that he would hold that simplistic view. I do believe that if he used that argument, he must think we are stupid. And not all of us are. Rabbi Steinzaltz' argument is spurious, fallacious and  suspect.

By the way, when it came to Oslo Rav Yosef consulted many generals. Rabin gave him one set of facts, while Sharon and Gandi gave him another. That he chose to follow Rabin was not because it was "better" information, but because he chose to do so for his own reasons. That had nothing to do with information and neither does Rabbi Steinsaltz' decision not to decide.

Maybe Hashem is giving others, including the non religious, the opportunity to save Eretz Israel and withholding this privilege from our gedolim. If that is the case, I propose that we stop talking to them and about them and follow people like Rav Kook who, in spite of the vehement opposition of so many gedolim, stood his ground and made important nationalistic decisions on his own. We have upon whom to rely, our Rishonim, the simple reading of halacha and, above all, an honest reading of the Torah, gives us the path we should follow. Those who choose to be blind and deaf to these precepts are making their own decision and they will be held accountable for them one day. To paraphrase a Hassidic Rabbi, I would rather go to Gehinnom for not listening to the Rabbis than for sacrificing my obligations to what the Torah tells us we should do with the Land: Virishta, you shall inherit it.

I would so much like to get an answer from any of the Rabbis or gedolim, but they choose not to engage in discussions. While the Jewish people remains without Torah leadership in one of the most important issues of our time, they choose to hide behind spurious arguments. When Moshe and Aaron were going to Pharaoh, the Elders of that generation sneaked away one by one and they left Moshe and Aaron to confront the Pharaoh alone. Who are the Moshe and Aaron today?

Silence and inaction are not doing nothing; they are actions and decisions that directly aid those who would harm us. An act of omission (which is what this is) is no less criminal or punishable than the act of commission. For 2,000 years, our Rabbis (at least some) have forgotten how to lead the people in matters of life and death. They can explain a blatt of Gemara about important issues--even life and death in theory--but when it comes to making actual decisions, they have become weak and indecisive. Now it's the argument that "their hands are tied" or "we do not know enough" or any other argument to justify their silence and inaction. The truth is that they do not need those reasons not to act. Lack of courage, low self-esteem and plain laziness are the real reasons for their inaction. Just as Yehoshua was punished for not conquering Eretz Israel soon enough and delayed due to his own laziness, the Rabbis of today have their own laziness (atzlut) that robs them of their power and effectiveness. Never mind the arguments they give; the bottom line is that they are paralyzed, partly by their own humility and partly by their lack of energy. O, that someone should remind them that if they do not act to defend Eretz Israel and the valiant builders who are risking so much in order that Israel remains in our hands, who will?

By the way, you can never be wrong if you don't do anything or make any decisions. How comfortable it is to sit back and do nothing. In this fashion, you can never be criticized--as Rabbi Akiva was-- for taking sides or making decisions! In The Little Prince, the prince asks a king "why don't you give an order (that the people should stop)? The King replies, "I cannot give an order that the people may not like to listen." How sad it is when leaders follow instead of leading! How sad that some leaders prefer the comfort of not making errors to the courage of making choices and risking being wrong!

4. Renanah Goldhar -- Student of Rabbi Weismandl writes:

I think we should consider trying for another rabbis march before Yom Kippur.  But not just one.  The head of the Hatzalah Rabbi Eliezar Silver was at the front of the march.  The book about Rabbi Weissmandl - The Unheeded Cry - ends with Rabbi Silver's dirge:  "If only we had paid more attention to Rabbi Weissmandl...that brave......if only, if only, if only."

We should have one and then another and another march I would think....

I have wondered for some time if roots go back to the Holocaust.  What I refer to is our not being honest about our behavior during, before and after the Shoah.  There were great heroes and so many were victims and I cannot begin to imagine their suffering.  I can only cry for them.

I refer however to behavior I only recently became aware of.  I began studying the life and work of Rabbi Dov Weissmandl from Slovakia.  Are you familiar with his memoir "Min Hametzar" and the biography "The Unheeded Cry"?
One quote from Rabbi W. " One day you too will beat your breasts because you will know that you could have saved us and you did not."  "The Unheeded Cry" by Professor Fuchs of Jerusalem records the "secret" memo from the heads of the the rescue efforts in Palestine - how they dismissed Rabbi Weissmandl's success in stopping deportations in Slovakia and his "Europe Plan" to save one million Jews.  In this latter endeavor, Eichman had given permission for the Joint to come to Slovakia or for a rep. of Rabbi Weissmandl to travel to Switzerland to conduct negotiations.

I would ask you please to watch the short video from "Among Blind Fools: where he cries for the dead and for the silence.  http://www.jewsagainstzionism.com/mediaclips/weissmandl/weissmandlvideo.cfm He sent hundreds, perhaps thousands of communications to Jewish and secular leaders begging for money for bribing Eichman, and for bombing of the Auschwitz train tracks.

My suggestion is that we have not done teshuva.  First we must face our history.  Perfidy by Ben Hecht covers some of this material - the trial of Kastner.

Sincerely,
Renanah Goldhar

My comments to Renanah,

It's hard to understand how the Rabbanim had only one march knowing the genocide that was taking place. We can not give up in the face of apathy! Robin.

Learning from our history... Now, before it is too late, the Rabbanim must mobilize the Nation, raise the spiritual level of the people to unite and  speak out for our entitlement of Eretz Yisroel and act upon it. These major Jewish organizations have Washington offices and  databases and networks to thousands of Rabbanim and shuls and to hundreds of thousands of caring Jews!  We all can each write letters and make phone calls at the very least.  If we do our hishtadlus, our share, we will then be worthy G-d willing....

Otherwise G-d forbid, the partner and heir to Hitler's legacy, Hamas, Hizbollah, AlQaida, the PA etc. will be empowered to attempt once again to accomplish what Hitler failed to accomplish Chas Vechalila which is the destruction of the Jewish People and the desecration of G-ds name.
