12/11/10 We now have the mind-numbing IRS defense for delaying (almost a year now!) Z STREET's application for tax exempt status.  In a signed affidavit, an IRS official explains that there is no "Israel Special Policy," instead it is a Terrorism Special Policy, and that Israel is included.  That's right, Israel is a terrorist state because terrorism happens there.  True, Israel is the victim, but why quibble with details?  This brings moral equivalency to a whole new level.  Every Zionist should be screaming from the rooftops.  The brief is here and the most significant of the IRS affidavits is here.  The affidavit of the agent in charge of Z STREET's application is here.  And you'll be shocked, shocked to learn that the government completely ignores having asked another organization whether that organization "supports the existence of Israel", and that organization's "religious beliefs about the land of Israel."  That doesn't quite fit into their new defense.  Nor, of course, the Constitution.

Saudi-funded Islamic non-profit foundations – with direct and indirect ties to terror organizations – proliferate globally. The first foundation, the Muslim World League was established in 1962, five years before the Six-Day War, before the first settlement was established, while Jordan and Egypt occupied parts of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and Gaza and the Palestinian issue did not preoccupy Western
policymakers. More Saudi-supported foundations followed, including the USA-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the North American Islamic Trust (NAIS), the Holy Land Foundation (HLF), etc.
Those that finance and incite terrorism are more culpable than brainwashed terrorists who execute terrorism.

Malcolm Hoenlein as well,  spoke eloquently and passionately about our rights to Kever Rochel, Maarat Hamachpela, Kotel and Har Habayit.   Unfortunately, history has shown that his words are not consistent  with his political leadership.
Malcolm Hoenlein  YouTube Beit El 12/.5/10

Mr. Hoenlein is seriously constrained
with what he can do politically to match his innermost feelings for our historical and Biblical Rights to Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem.

He is  Executive Vice Chairman of the  American Conference of Presidents of  Major Jewish Organizations. He must walk the tightrope to keep in line with American Foreign Policy and in line with Israeli Gov't foreign policy who desperately want to please America, while trying to unite all the factions in the Conference of Presidents.  As a result,  he has in the past,  in principle endorsed Oslo, the Roadmap, Annapolis and a Two State Solution.  He balances this with insisting that the Arabs have not met their part of the bargain a necessary condition for the talks to succeed.

Now that Obama Administration is resigned to the fact that Israel will not extend the freeze so easily and the Palestinians are not recognizing or acknowledging Israel's right to exist, and given the deligitimazation of Israel at UNESCO, it is safe for him to speak publicly about our historical entitlement to the Land and its Holy sites.

Yet, the mere expression of willingness in the past  to share the Land of Israel sanctified to the Jewish People alone,   via G-d's Covenant with our forefathers,  is a form of our own deligitimization of our entitlement to the Land!  It's like agreeing to share ones wife with one that is willing to live with her "in peace and harmony". That expression of willingness to share her, deligitimizes the sanctity of the marriage.

To quote Malcolm himself  "They want to hear from us", "They want to know where we stand".

Is reciprocity where Torah really stands?

To repeat:    Malcolm is constrained by his job.   Major religious Jewish Organizations and major Jewish religious newspapers are not and should not therefore follow his cue

WHAT THEN TO SAY?  We must encourage Israel to Annex Judea and Samaria or better yet establish a sister Autonomy in Judea and Samaria that is governed by Torah Law rather than purely military law.

We must publicly reject Oslo, the Roadmap, and the 2 State Solution, discourage all funding of American  tax payers money for Non Jewish  construction in Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem and all of Israel as long as they refuse to accept Jewish Sovereignty and they must agree to abide by the 7 Noahide Laws. If we wish to keep Kever Rochel we must also not be afraid to say "VeShavu Banim LIgvulum" , her children will return to their borders.

There are many Arab villages that much prefer Jewish Sovereignty over Palestinian Autonomy.  They know that they will live secure, prosperous, healthy and protected lives under Jewish Sovereignty. The divided Druze  town of Rajar / Ghajar. near Lebanon is the perfect example as MK  Ayoub Kara can attest.

Putting out the fire on Chanukah - Read about Eliyahu Hanavi

bs"d

The first thing that comes to mind when we think of Har HaCarmel is Eliyahu Hanavi who chastised the people of his generation for not keeping the Covenant.  My own reaction to the fire on Har HaCarmel was to be critical of our generation.   However, as I looked on the internet for links about Eliyahu Hanavi I read the following

...This connection between Pinhas and Eliyahu is reflected in the custom to prepare a special chair for Eliyahu Hanavi at every berit milah. The Midrash[15] explains this custom as the result of Eliyahu's complaints to Gd that the Jewish people have betrayed their covenant with Him. Hashem sharply scolded the prophet for his accusation: "Why must you always zealously reprimand My children? You did so in the desert and now with My entire nation during the reign of the idolatrous King Ahav and his false prophets! From now on you must be present at every berit milah to witness the faithfulness of My beloved nation and how they devotedly bring all their baby boys into My special convent!"

So let me preface my remarks by saying:, Mi KeAmcha Yisroel. Who is like you Oh Israel?"

I am very impressed with Prime Minister Netanyahus plea for help from the Nations of the World to fight this fire.  As Prime Minister Netanyahu pointed out, we need not be embarrassed to  ask for help.

Israel understands that the very act of helping one in need is a  zechut. In this regard, Netanyahu has demonstrated exemplary leadership.   it is with a  deep sense of gratification to the Almighty that the Nations of the World have responded with generosity and kindness towards Israel to help extinguish this fire.   May those that help protect Israel be blessed with G-d's protection.

This having been said, allow me to put down my thoughts.

Whether or not there was arson, one can not deny that the winds and the lack of rains fueled this fire.

Prior to this fire, the Chief Rabbis called for  fasts for rain.    At the time I heard of the fasts it was my gut reaction  that I don't believe that Hashem really wants us to fast.  All He wants from us is to speak out forcefully and act in kind, regarding our entitlement of Eretz Yisroel and proclaim  the Biblical delineated boundaries set forth in Parshat Masei.

Does G-d even want or need our fasts or prayers before trying the basics?

Why are we fasting when perhaps all that is necessary is for the Nation of Israel to stop their willingness to negotiate away parts of Eretz Yisroel?  Can a wife have 2 legitimate husbands even in principle?  Can Eretz Yisroel be sanctified by any foreign power other than Am Yisroel?

Have we insisted to observe and keep   the commandments on the Land like Shemittah  and all the Mitzvoth Teluyot Baaretz which bring down Divine Promise of Peace and Prosperity?  Have we proclaimed our rights and entitlement to the Land of Israel and have we spoken out to those that deligitimize our existence and our rights to Eretz Yisroel and call us occupiers.  Have we stood up effectively to the President of the United States of America and his claims or do we instead appease and destroy outposts and continue the freeze on Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.

Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are the heart and soul of Eretz Yisroel.

The Shamayim and Aretz , the Heavens and Earth are the witnesses to our Covenant with Hashem.  When we fail to keep our part of the Covenant with Hashem, the witnesses do their part by reminding us.  Perhaps this message is the fire on  Har Hacarmel,  the very  place where Eliyahu Hanavi has a showdown with those that believe in false G-ds.

And if we fail to recognize any message sent by Hashem  then Hashem says if you will go with Me with happenstance, then I will go with you with Happenstance.   Taken from http://habayitah.blogspot.com/2010/01/eliyahu-hanavi-part-ii.html

Eliyahu's Job

What is the purpose behind Eliyahu's arrival? What role will he fill in the redemptive process?

Firstly[5], Eliyahu will come to announce to the world the news of Mashiah's imminent arrival and the dawn of a new chapter in the existence of mankind – "The Messianic Era." Secondly[6], he will guide the Jewish Nation toward complete repentance and prepare them for the final redemption. Lastly[7], Eliyahu will bring back the special anointing oil for the anointing of Mashiah and the purifying waters of the parah adumah (red heifer) needed to purify the nation.

Our sages[8] explain the intent of why specifically Eliyahu was chosen to announce Mashiah's arrival as Eliyahu was transformed into an angel and ascended to heaven alive, he is the only one on hand throughout the generations, with the ability to appear at any given moment should the need arise. Now that he has this mission, he will ensure that Mashiah does arrive for the Jewish Nation so that he can complete his task. The Midrash notes[9] that on five occasions in the Tanach, the name "Eliyahu" is spelled in an unusual fashion, without the letter vav. Correspondingly, the Midrash observes, we find the name "Yaakov" spelled with an extra vav five times in Tanach. The Midrash explains that Yaakov Avinu took the letter from Eliyahu as a security that he will fulfill his difficult mission to ensure that his children will be worthy of redemption in the end of days. Thus, Malachi's promise that Eliyahu will come to us essentially promises that Eliyahu will fulfill his mission of preparing us for the final redemption. (Interestingly enough, Yaakov specifically took the letter vav, which has the numerical value of six, alluding to the guarantee that Eliyahu will come to facilitate the redemption by the Hebrew year six thousand.[10])

Who is Eliyahu Hanavi?

The book of Melachim relates numerous incidents involving the prophet Eliyahu and the miracles he performed, yet it provides virtually no information about his personal life and background. We are told only that he originated from the town of Toshav and resided in the city of Gilad. He lived and prophesied during the reign of King Ahav and his son King Ahazyahu, who ruled over the Northern Kingdom of Israel in the middle of the First Temple era. We also read that he ascended alive to heaven in a fiery chariot, elevated to the level of the angels.[11] However, nothing else about his life or origins is recorded.

The most famous and commonly accepted view identifies Eliyahu as the righteous zealot Pinhas[12], the grandson of Aharon Hakohen, who lived during the Jewish people's travels in the desert and entered the Land of Israel. Gd rewarded Pinhas with everlasting longevity when he risked his life to kill Zimri, prince of the tribe of Shimon, in defense of Hashem's honor, thereby rescuing the Jewish Nation from further spiritual deterioration and poosible destruction.[13] Indeed, Pinhas is mentioned on several occasions in the books of the Prophets, even during the times of King David – over four hundred years after the incident of Zimri![14] According to this view, Pinhas spent an extended period in seclusion and reappeared approximately 150 years later under the name Eliyahu. His life, then, spanned a period of 12 generations!

This connection between Pinhas and Eliyahu is reflected in the custom to prepare a special chair for Eliyahu Hanavi at every berit milah.

Others[16], however, believe that Eliyahu and Pinhas were actually two different people, but they possessed the same neshama (soul). Their shared soul accounts for their similar character traits and the similar acts of heroism which they performed.

Eliyahu's Greatness

The Book of Melachim describes in detail numerous miracles which Hashem performed at the hands of Eliyahu Hanavi. In response to King Ahav's idolatry, Eliyahu declared the withholding of all rain for three years. He also conducted tehiyat hametim (resurrection of the dead) to the only child of a grieving widow, and brought a heavenly fire which consumed the offering he prepared on Mount Carmel in full view of King Ahav and his constituents. On another occasion, an angel provided Eliyahu with "spiritual" bread and water which enabled him to travel for forty consecutive days through the desert without any other food or drink.

Our sages express particular reverence for Eliyahu, calling him "the prince of the prophets" and second only to his master and teacher, Moshe Rabbenu, who was the greatest of all prophets.[17] He beheld prophetic visions with a high level of clarity and while awake and in full control of his senses – similar to the prophecies of Moshe Rabbenu.[18] A number of commentators also note that Eliyahu was the source of much of the prophecy that was present in his time. The intense divine spirit which constantly rested upon him was channeled to other prophets, enabling them to receive prophecy. When Eliyahu ascended to heaven, much of the prophecy of his time was lost.

Throughout the Ages

One of the highest praises that can be said about a saddik is that he learned or received advice from Eliyahu Hanavi. Our sages explain that since Eliyahu never physically died, he can return to this world. Hashem therefore frequently sends him to help the Jewish people when the need arises. In fact, the Zohar writes that all the miracles performed in the world are brought about through Eliyahu Hanavi.[19]

Over the course of Jewish history, thousands of instances have been recorded where Eliyahu has appeared and saved the Jewish Nation from calamity. It would be no exaggeration to say that our nation owes its very survival to this extraordinary prophet who has appeared countless times to rescue Gd's people.

May we all be privileged to behold his shining countenance as he comes to herald Mashiah's arrival and the end of all our suffering, speedily and in our days, Amen.

5. One's Ability to Sense His Spirituality (Bechukosai)

The Torah tells us in the tochachah that if the Jewish people fail spiritually, multiple curses will come upon them. The Torah repeats a number of times the expression "If you behave casually (keri) with Me (Hashem)." To what is the Torah referring when it mentions "casualness"? Rashi cites Chazal who explain that the term keri is referring to the casual manner in which the Jewish people engage in mitzvos. The Jew's involvement and performance of mitzvos is not continuous but rather by convenience. Thus, the Torah is telling us that if Jewish people's commitment in mitzvos is only a matter of convenience, then the curses will come upon them (G-d forbid).

Other commentators explain the term keri to mean "incidental"- attributing one's unusual difficulties to happenstance rather than recognizing their true cause. When a Jew falters spiritually, G-d brings upon him difficulties to cause him to realize that he has faltered. If one attributes his problems to the "peaks and valleys of life" then in essence he is rejecting G-d's communication to him. The Torah tells us that if one assumes this perspective regarding his difficulties, Hashem will bring upon him even greater difficulties until he is forced to realize that there are issues that must be corrected.

When one becomes ill, one attempts to understand the cause of his illness. However when one experiences unusual difficulties in life, one does not approach the problem in a similar manner. Why would one attribute his situation to mere happenstance? When people fall on hard times, it is typical that they attribute their difficulties to "market conditions" or "the reality of life." The reason a Jew does not put his difficulties in the proper perspective is because he lacks the sensitivity necessary to enable him to appreciate their cause. The cause of this insensitivity is due to "casual" involvement in the performance of mitzvos. It is only when one is committed and engages in Torah Judaism in a serious way (which causes a spiritual consciousness) that one is able to comprehend and realize where he had failed. If one lacks the necessary sensitivity due to his "casual" involvement in the performance of mitzvos, then G-d will intensify his problems to a point that he can no longer attribute them to happenstance.

Finding Your Passion

It's fascinating to read about people and their passions. For example, there is a woman named Evelyn Hayes who has a passion for the tomb of our Matriarch Rachel (Kever Rachel). Her heart and soul are devoted to Israel, particularly to Kever Rachel. She bought property nearby, does fundraisers for Kever Rachel, writes poetry about it, etc. I wonder where this comes from! I wonder, who was she in a previous incarnation?!

Fwd: : Bibi at 28 against Palestinian State

bs"d

Clearly, Netanyahu at age 28 is not in favor of a PA State.  Privately I doubt he has changed his mind. However, in those days he was not constrained to speak out openly as he is today as Prime Minister.

Please note that even at 28, Netanyahu fails to speak out about our entitlement based on Torah and merely emphasizes, very effectively,   our being the only Jewish State among 21 Arab States and that we have a right for survival.  This fundamental lack of recognition of the source of our entitlement  which is G-d and the Torah is the root of his willingness to compromise today. Bibi at 28

A 28-year old Benyamin Netanyahu, calling himself Ben Nitay, debates on the 1978 US TV show "The Advocate" against Palestinian self-determination and intriguingly suggests West Bank and Gaza Palestinians could have Israeli citizenship.

He is debated (or rather questioned) by Fouad Ajami, now professor at Johns Hopkins University's SAIS. Note that Bibi says that while he opposes a Palestinian state, he thinks Palestinians could vote and have full rights in either Jordan or Israel - essentially endorsing a one-state solution.

Fwd: Dismayed by Nathan Diament's op-ed

bs"d

Dear OU Executives and Rabbis and activist list, amv'sh

This letter and the letter that follows by Sara Lehman, is in response to what we read recently in Arutz7 by Hillel Fendel

Strong Orthodox Opposition to Palestinian State
and I quote:

"This week, however, a slight crack in this strong Orthodox policy alliance against a Palestinian state was opened, even if not very noticeably. It occurred in an op-ed written by Nathan Diament, the Public Policy Director of the OU, for the New York Daily News, entitled, "Jerusalem Must Remain Undivided."

While making a solidly compelling case for keeping Jerusalem wholly under Israeli sovereignty, Diament allowed that the OU actually supports the two-state solution. "While we support a two-state solution that guarantees Israel's security and Jewish character," he wrote, "the choices required to bring us to that point must be grounded in reality." Contacted by Israel National News, Diament responded that the OU "hasn't changed its position," that a "passing phrase in my op-ed is not a reversal or change in that position," and that it was just "an unfortunate articulation." He did not offer to retract it, however."

To a sensitive being like myself having lived in Hebron this "unfortunate articulation" is equivalent in nature to the following statement

"While we support a two husband solution that guarantees the wife's security and recognition that she is already married, the choices required to bring us to that point must be grounded in reality"

Now how can Nathan Diament as director of public policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America. even suggest that they support the "two state solution".

I hear your argument "well, Netanyahu also  publicly declared  that he supports a "two state solution" and he's the Prime Minister of Israel!

Let me then add that I am not defending Netanyahu and indeed he too has no right to publicly support an illegitimate relationship with the PA for the Land of Israel.  Two wrongs don't make a right.

Many believe as I do that the increase of deligitimization of Israel throughout  the world  is a direct effect of the government of Israel doing deligitimizing to itself by not denouncing Oslo, the Roadmap and the Two State Solution.

Again, I hear some of you rationalize and say that Netanyahu's  support "in principle" is merely lip service  knowing that the Palestinians themselves would never agree.  However I am reminded of the story of the author of the Nesaneh Tokef who judged himself harshly for merely having said that he needed 3 days to consider converting and how he bitterly regretted having even suggesting it.

Yes, this is not a new story unfortunately  Please read letters written  to the OU in 2008.

fwd: OU Dissent from JCPA Resln - Menachem Kovacs,Buddy Macy, Asher Eder to OU

and go on my blog shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com and search for "ou jcpa" and it will link you to other letters.

Please read an opinion piece I wrote in June 2008 regarding OU hypocrisy.

5768.09.16 Israel the Land of My Possession - P' Shlach Meraglim, Action Alerts.

The OU represents a thousand or so shuls in USA.  They are the ultimate symbol in Kashrut worldwide.  Surely this statement is not reflective of the will of the members of the OU just like Netanyahus public declarations in support of a "Two State Solution"  is not reflective of the will of the Nation of Israel.

Apparently, Nathan Diamant and colleagues who publicly declare that they "support a two state solution" given the proper conditions, have yet to internalize the sanctity of  G-d's relationship with the Land of Israel and the People of Israel.  Such a relationship is exclusive and Holy just like in a marriage. The end result of such a holy union of sanctity between the Jewish People and the Land of Israel  is peace and prosperity for mankind.

So how Kosher is the 2 husband solution?

(I tried to comment on the IPA blog regarding this piece but my comments and I imagine others are still under review)

Dear Executives and Members of the OU,

As a past supporter of the Orthodox Union, I was appalled by Nathan Diament's November 21st op-ed, in which he declared OU support for a Palestinian state. Despite his qualification that such a solution "guarantees Israel's security and Jewish character", the creation of such a state would, G-d forbid, immediately endanger the State of Israel and defy our historic claim to our Jewish homeland.

All Jews pray for peace, but there can be no justification for any Jew to extend an olive branch to those who continue to wish for our destruction, especially following the lessons of the Gaza Disengagement. Is Mr. Diament suggesting we give away our land to the "moderate" Abbas, with Fatah even now refusing to recognize Israel as a Jewish state and continuing to spew Jew-hating indoctrination? Does he wish for an inevitable terrorist state as Israel's neighbor?

Israel now finds itself in a dangerous era of delegitimization. What Israel needs is the unyielding support and encouragement of her friends to withstand pressure from making perilous concessions to both so-called friends and enemies alike. One need not be an Orthodox Jew to recognize the threat a Palestinian state would present to Israel, World Jewry, America and the entire Middle East region. Yet, as an Orthodox Jew, Mr. Diament cannot have it both ways. He cannot pander to the political correctness of our day and commit an Orthodox Jewish organization to notions that have been proven false and which have plagued many of our non-Orthodox brothers into pressuring Israel to make suicidal sacrifices.

When so many of Israel's friends have turned away, it is beyond disillusioning to watch the OU join in the abandonment. Et tu, Brute?

Sincerely,

Sara Lehmann

Breaking News, Shas is being threatened and therefore will abstain

bs:"d

Dear Activist List, Media people, Jewish Organizations and Rabbanim, amv"sh

I have a reliable inside information that Shas was prepared to vote against extending the freeze.. Then a high ranking Jewish public figure a supporter of the Democratic 2008 election,  was sent by the Obama Administration to Israel and somehow Shas is feeling threatened.  I do not have specific details and do not want to mention names at this point because I'd be subject for a potential law suit.

However, one does not needs details to respond with caution and wisdom to this allegation in order to prevent tragedy to Am Yisroel.

This is a request to all American Jewish media, all Jewish Synagogues and Jewish Organizations  If you are aware that a prominent Jewish or not Jewish individual makes light  of continuing  the freeze in Judea and Samaria as if there are no major repercussions as they did in the past with Oslo and the expulsion from Gush Katif and will not publicly speak out against the extension of the freeze in Judea and Samaria  in the present time, DO NOT HONOR HIM/HER by giving him/her air time or by allowing him/her space in your paper.  DO NOT HONOR him/her at your Dinners or allow him/her a podium in your shul to speak to the Congregation.

If you do,  you are empowering one that is a potential traitor to the Jewish people and the consequences in the future will have long lasting harmful effects on hundreds of thousands of Jews.  Isn't OSLO and the Disengagement proof?   Didn't Sderot suffer enough?  Sending humanitarian aid after the fact is not good enough!

In the past Jewish Leaders made light of the matter as negotiations of a 2 State Solution  were developing thereby neutralizing activism against such evil and dangerous plans and thereby aiding in the process.  We can not allow this to happen again.  It can not be politics as usual.

MK's in Likud are withstanding the pressure to cave him even risking their jobs.  That is the honorable thing to do and May G-d reward them with much blessing.  Go to link  MKs Who Signed Petition Against Freeze are Feeling the Heat

Do not be fooled by those that speak with eloquence and  "concern" for the security of the Jewish people and the Jewish State, yet support Netanyahu's (passively or actively),  decision to extend the freeze in Judea and Samaria.

Politics as usual must stop NOW.  The buck stops with YOU!

Shabbat Shalom UmeVorach!

On the Steps of City Hall, Thursday Nov. 18, 2010, Two separate but related Press Conferences - 1. no Mosque at Ground Zero, 2. No body scanners from TSA

bs"d

This will be posted on shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com

Today I attended 2 Press Conferences on the Steps of City Hall.  They were separate events and it was almost accidental that I stayed for both Press Conferences.  I had intended just to attend the first Press Conference and didn't even know about the 2nd one. (but I believe in Hashgacha Pratis, Divine Providence, and that nothing is coincidental)

The first Press Conference was organized by ACT for AMERICA representing Families of Victims from 9/11.It was extremely moving.  They presented a petition  to  Mayor Bloomberg's Office of over 120,000 signatures against building the Mosque at Ground Zero.. http://www.dnainfo.com/20101118/downtown/ground-zero-mosque-opponents-present-120000strong-petition.  Very Nice Slide Show embedded in post.

Many, including myself were teary eyed when Rosaleen Tallon was introduced and spoke.  A soft spoken woman, mother and Professor with PHD spoke about her brother Sean a firefighter who perished on that very tragic day.  My impression of this group was that they are so authentic and knew the meaning of self sacrifice.  It was hard to conceal the  pain still so raw on their faces almost 10 years later.  They were so dignified,  professional and articulate. I immediately sensed a kinship with them and their  pain since I was familiar with such  pain and suffering.  It is the pain shared with my fellow brothers and sisters in the Land of Israel after similar barbaric terror attacks.  I sensed that indeed they must  feel a sense of loneliness and isolation in America  with most Americans not relating,  never having intimately experienced such emotional pain of this sort.

After this Press Conference I spotted David Greenfield,   Councilman of Boro Park Brooklyn on the steps of City Hall. Having recognized him from his campaign and his involvement with my community, I went over to talk to him the current events the upcoming vote by the Cabinet in Israel and about the importance of lobbying  Knesset  cabinet members to vote against the Freeze in Judea and Samaria.    He was polite but told me that he was about to start a Press Conference and that  his involvement was primarily local politics.

I was curious to hear what his Press Conference was about so I hung around.  Shortly he started his Press Conference.  The topic is summed up in this link  Lawmakers Move to Eject Nude Scanners From New York Airports  and legislation he is introducing against placing such scanners in our airports. . ( Before going on the link, please be aware that the image on this post is  for mature audiences only.). The Councilmen talked about the deals that were pushed by vendors who  were more interested in pushing their product (these body scanners) then in protecting American;s security, the ineffective security it provided and the possible dangers of radiation. Anyway, as I was  listening to him and others talk against these "security scanners" I got an email on my blackberry from ACT Brigette Gabrielle. .

I was in shock because the contents of this email was entirely related to this 2nd Press Conference and not the !st Conference.  As far as I could tell, these two Press Conferences were totally independent and nonrelated and none of the ACT People seemed to hang around for this 2nd Press Conference as I had. Furthermore, the contents of this email was so supportive of Congressmen's Greenfields agenda that it had documentation that I felt would be very helpful to him for this Press Conference. Please visit the link from World Net Daily.

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINES
Expert: TSA scans would let al-Qaida duplicate 9/11 Brigitte Gabriel warns unless U.S. starts profiling, nation is vulnerable

I tried to catch the Councilman's attention when others spoke in order to show him my blackberry and the contents of this email and naturally he motioned to me that it was not the time.  I could almost hear his thoughts about how annoyingly my interruption was and what terrible timing and bad social cues I had to show him an email that he assumed was totally unrelated in the middle of a Press Conference.

In fact this email  from ACT answered precisely one of the questions one the reporters  as to when these scanners would be ineffective in exposing security breaches.  Ms Gabrielle offers clear examples of how explosives could be smuggled in totally undetected and suggested profiling and personal questioning, Israeli style,  coupled with technology to effectively protect the passengers.

These clearly non coincidental happenings proved to me that my initial remarks to Councilman Greenfield regarding the Knesset Vote was totally on track and was related to local politics. Because what is good for Israel is good for New York City and what is bad for Israel is also bad for New York. City.   A safe and protected Israel means a safe and protected New York.

It was a humbling moment, a message from above and one that needs to be shared.

Dear Activist List: amv"sh

Please read:

FAQ: The campaign to defame Israel, MFA.gov.il, Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Everyone should read or at least skim this.  Thank you UCI for excellent links.

This having been said let me explain why I don't think this campaign will reach its desired destination.

It's off by a degree.  Sometimes straying off a degree, lands us somewhere  we don't want to go...

If however, we correct the fault and go back on track then we will reach our destination.

Q: How is this campaign going off the Derech? (going off the path?)

A: With the assumption that a 2 State Solution living side by side in peace  and harmony  is the assumed goal of Israel and the Jewish people.

(everything said about the 3-D's, Delegitimization,  Demonization and Double Standard of Israel  seems to be accurate..)

Analysis and Explanation:  Reason for going off the Derech:  The MFA disregards the Torah.  It disregards the Torah's delineated boundaries in Parshat Masei.  It disregards our obligations to keep the Commandments, laws and precepts of the Torah as being a prerequisite for living a peaceful, productive and prosperous life on the Land and an integral and necessary part of the Jewish Heritage. It reflects Netanyahu's perception but not the Emes -(truth).  That is why it will not reach its intended destination.  In fact,  the same fault that caused MFA to stray off target, is responsible for being the #1 cause for the 3-D's and therefore no PR campaign will correct the matter unless we clearly speak and act in accordance of our Biblical Heritage.

Those that are responsible for the 3-D's are also G-d's messengers for getting us back onto the right path.  Our failure to recognize this will only lead to frustration and our inability to understand why after so eloquently recognizing and clarifying the symptoms we are unable to get to the root of the problem.

Our roots are in Hebron and the Bilbical Covenants with our Forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. .
  • Hebron, the ancestral burial place of our Forefathers.
  • Hebron  the first capital of Judea  and the beginning  of Jewish Kingship of the House of David. and Israel as a Sovereign Nation.
  • Hebron, the place where the sun rises and triggers a wakeup call each and every morning announcing the start of the Service in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

URGENT Eretz Yisroel News and Commentary and Action items from Mattot Arim Fwd: TZC-Newsletter-Nov-19-2010-PDF-Format

bs"d

This TZC newsletter is extremely important (see attached) because if we ACT on what we read we can Beezrat Hashem influence the course of history.   The Disengagement in Gaza could have been stopped but people were too passive.  Strong, grassroots lobbying on our part can actually influence members of Netanyahu's cabinet to vote AGAINST the freeze rather than abstain or endorse it.  Please open attachment,  print, distribute  and do what you can do.  Each one of us can do something. The responsibility is greatest on those with greatest influence.  Everything is in G-d's hands.  Let Him see our Hishtadlus.  Hashem Oz LeAmo Yiten.... Shabbat Shalom!

From Mattot Arim:

If you live in Har Nof in Jerusalem please -- Go to HaKablan Street where Eli Yishai and Ariel Atias live, or to their synagogue, and ask them PLEASE TO VOTE AGAINST FREEZING YEHUDA AND SHOMRON. Tell them Israel's most senior military expert is against it (Yaalon - former Ramatkal and current Minister of Strategic Affairs) http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3986152,00.html and so are you, and so should they be, and we will never forgive them. Please write to us mattot.arim@gmail.com  and report how you managed - many thanks.

For example:
Dear Ministers Peled, Limor Livnat, Moshe Cachlon and Gilad Erdan,
I was disappointed you did not join the majority of your Likud colleagues in signing a common letter against the Judea and Samaria freeze proposal: http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/pm-faces-party-revolt-over-settlement-deal-with-u-s-1.325186
What could possibly be your justification in refusing to join this important initiative??
Please let me know urgently because currently I am convinced that there is no justification. Many thanks.

Please forward responses urgently to mattot.arim@gmail.com
If you have already registered for Likud voting rights, you are very influential, so add something suitable, like:
"As a Likud voting member, I would always vote, and ask others to vote, ONLY for ministers who cooperate fully with efforts to help Judea and Samaria."

Rabbanim, Now is a critical time, Netanyahu's cabinet is deciding whether or not to extend freeze in Judea and Samaria. Time to SPEAK UP!

bs"d

Yihiyu LeRatzon Imrei Pi Vehegyon Libi Lefanecha Hashem Tzuri Vegoaliposted on Shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com

An Open Letter to Distinguished Rabbanim: (please read till end since there are  powerful links to Caroline Glicks and PMW's latest posts)

It seems to me...

There is an inverse correlation between
  • The Nation of Israel, Am Yisroel's public willingness to claim Eretz Yisroel as her G-d given entitlement and
  • a rise of antisemitism and terrorism throughout the world.

You may argue, on the contrary!  Our enemies express outrage with our claim to Har HaBayit  (Temple Mount), Mearat Hamachpela (Cave of the Patriarchs), Kever Rochel  (Rachel's Tomb) and Kever Yosef - (Josef's Tomb) and we fear hostile and violent antisemitic reprisals against Jews and the State of Israel with such "provocative" statements,

My thoughts regarding  this argument is that when we speak out publicly and forcefully, we effectively bear the brunt of their hostility  and thereby absorb/deflect it from the rest of the world. What I am suggesting is  that by our Silence, there is a void, a Chillul Hashem which allows antisemitism and terror to spread with nothing to keep it in check. .

Do not get me wrong.  I am in no way suggesting that Jews or Israel be the scapegoat and bear the brunt for mankind.  Nor do I believe that Hashem wants us to be the martyrs for mankind   Exactly the opposite! I believe that this IIS the case  when we are silent!  (Maybe just maybe G-d makes it that way  because we should/could have somehow been more proactive.) Alternitively, was Moses wrong for confronting Pharaoh even though it triggered a severe backlash?

Rather,  I am suggesting  to speak  loudly without fear with Emuna Pshuta,  words of simple faith, words of Truth,  words straight from the Torah and then have faith in our Father in Heaven and trust that He will come through with His Protection from our enemies and  He will keep His Promises of Peace and Prosperity when we do more than lip service to keep and follow  the Torah.

Many have asked Gedolim of  Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah to make a public statement regarding Am Yisroel's rightful entitlement of Eretz Yisroel including all of Yehudah and Shomron as per the Biblical Boundaries delineated in Parshat Masei.

We have been told by the Gedoilim that "of course this is obvious and there is no need to make a public statement. We have nothing to gain by such a statement"  They imply that there is lots to lose. (backlash, antisemitism, loss of gov't funded programs etc...)

Let me suggest that alarming recent developments have indicated that indeed there is an urgent and desperate need to go public. It seems to me that our Silence merely delays a  backlash which is allowed then to grow in strength and number. iT SEEMS CLEAR TO ME THAT  with Hashem's help,  when we brace ourselves, the backlash subsides and then there is relative peace that follows.  Sometimes even miracles :) Examples of strong backlash which dissipated occurred after the destruction of the nuclear sites in Iraq, Syria and somewhat after Operation Cast Lead. There are many such examples. When we bend over backwards to protect "Arab rights to the land" like in Jenin, we are libeled and our efforts are labeled and reported as a progrom and  a massacred). ( I believe the Goldstone report was mida keneged Mida, G-ds payback to the gov't of  Israel as a result of Israel's refusal to back the settlers in Judea and Samaria when they rightfully defend themselves against Arab aggression.  The High Court has ruled against them  again and again and many  times turn the victims of Judea and Samaria into the aggressors.) Likewise I am confident that America has been and will be taken to task when they act in self defense. (poetic justice because they in turn did not support Israel's right of self defense. However, this is no consolation to anyone)

Our enemies unite in declaring our "Occupation" of Palestine and their rights to the Land.  This is their justification of Jihad otherwise known as the "Armed Struggle for Liberation".

The following brings proof and support to the claim that Our Silence as per Israel's Entitlement of all of Eretz Yisroel has given birth to a terror supporting Organization here in America.   Note this organization CAIR, is less than 10 years old and current events is indicative as per how dangerous an organization it is becoming. Google CAIR and see for yourself (but trust me, the following will not come up as a top link).

Some facts About CAIR

From Chapter Three  Muslim Brotherhood  entitled Fronting for Hamas

"From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorism."
U.S. Justice Department

In October 1993,  Ohmar Ahmad a well educated, radicalized, member of  Brotherhood's Palestine Committee born in a Palestinian Refugee Camp, and a leader of IAP (Islamic Association of Palestine) called to order a secret Hamas summit at a Courtyard by Marriot  Hotel in Philadelphia.  There IAP and Holy Land officials came up with a scheme to disguise payments to Hamas terrorists and their families as charity.  Wiretaps record them stating the need to deceive Americans about the true objectives.

Missing was a media office savvy enough to advance their radical agenda of supporting violent jihad abroad while institutionalizing a Shariah theocracy at home. This was the origin of the birth of Washington based CAIR (Council of American-Islamic Relations)  CAIR was first mentioned by name in Brotherhood documents as part of a July 30, 1994 agenda of the Palestine Committee.  CAIR  is thus directly connected to the Hamas network inside America.

The group's leadership was plucked directly from IAP and the Palestine Committee. In fact all three CAIR incorporators - Ahmad, Awad, and Rafeeq Jaber have held senior position of the IAP.   New name, same old management

IAP (1993)                                                                             CAIR (1994)
Omar Ahmad (President).................................................Omar Ahmad (President)
Rafeeq Jaber (IAP Chicago Chapter President)..........Jafeeq Jaber (Vice President)
Nihad Awad (Public Relations Director)........................Nihad Awad (Secretary, Treasurer)
Source Articles of Incorporation, BY laws CAIR, District of Columbia, 15 Sep, 1994,7;FBI documents

Recently, CAIR: Muslim's Lawsuit Says Oklahoma Amendment Violates Constitution
and is anti-Islam. Awad's lawsuit, which is based on his own Shariah-compliant will, says SQ 755 violates the First Amendment's Establishment Clause that bars government bodies from making laws "respecting the establishment of religion."   It is evident to those that voted for the Amendment  that they did so in order to protect basic Constitutional rights when they conflict with Sharia law.

In addition, it was just in the News that The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has issued a travel notice to Muslim airline passengers, warning them that new regulations from the Transportation Security Administration violate certain religious rules.

According to CAIR, the TSA's new "enhanced pat down" policy should be limited to searching only around Muslim women's head and neck if they are wearing a hijab.

( Surely CAIRS objection will compromise TSA's ability to spot a potential shahida defined as a woman who dies for Allah like Ayyat al-Akhras - a 17 year-old girl - who murdered 2 Israelis in a Jerusalem supermarket on March 29, 2002.  She has a PA children's summer camp in her name. fact from  Itamar Marcus, Palestinian Media Watch)

ABOUT MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD

The Muslim Brotherhood credo is "Allah is our God", the Prophet is our guide, The Quran is our constitution, Jihad is our way, and death for the glory of Allah is our greatest ambition."  (Chapter 13 Muslim Mafia The Muslim Brotherhood: Terrorists in Suits)

This is a theological war.

When Am Yisroel fails to conquer  Eretz Yisroel from the Canaanites, Hashem says that the end result is that Hashem will do to us what should have done to them.  Bamidbar 33:55.

Perhaps we can  learn retroactively from what our enemies say and do so that we can act accordingly.

So what we can learn from the Muslim Brotherhood?

Let me suggest that the Jewish Credo be:
  • Hashem is our G-d,
  • Moshe Rabbeinu is our quide,
  • The Torah is our Constitution,
  • Torah Shebeal Peh (Oral Law - Shivim Panim LeTorah "Shivim Panim Latorah" (Bemidbar Rabba 13:15). The phrase in its entirety is, "There are 70 faces to Torah; turn it over and turn it over for everything is found in it.  Rrabbinic maxim declares, shivim panim laTorah — there are seventy faces to the Torah. That is to say, there is a multiplicity of interpretations to any one word or verse in the Torah. and Eilu VeEilu)  is our way To this day Jewish law almost always agrees with the school of Hillel. Why?  The Talmud (Eruvin 13b) explains that…"the words of both schools are the words of the living God—elu v'eilu divrei Elohim Chayim," but the law follows the rulings of the school of Hillel largely because he studied the views and opinions of others and humbly quoted their words before their own.  The sages tell us that in their disputes Hillel and Shammai were arguing for the sake of heaven, that is to achieve the highest good and therefore both their viewpoints will live forever. and
  • LIFE for the glory of Hashem,  is our greatest ambition.  (LeTaken Olam BeMalchut Shakai as said on Rosh Hashana and Aleinu)

The Nation of Israel must act to protect our Land and our Torah and if Jihad is their way and if death is our enemies ambition, we will help them achieve their goals when they provoke us to the point where we respond as any Sovereign Nation must respond in order  to protect its Sovereignty.

They believe that the entire world belongs to Allah and Allah has chosen Islam to rule over the entire world with Sharia Law.

We too believe that the entire world belongs to G-d  (As it says in the Torah Shmot 19:4-6 ('ki li kol ha-aretz') and Vayikra 25:23-24,  (also look at  first Rashi of Breishit)

The Covenants with our Forefoathers declare that Hashem has chosen Am Yisroel to inherit the Land (Eretz Yisroel) and Am Yisroel as a Nation is  obligated to keep the laws,  commandments and precepts in the Torah

The Nations of the World, the Umot Haolam must abide by the 7 Noahide Laws.

This is the key for the Blessings of Mankind. Breishit 12:3

And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you."   ג. וַאֲבָרֲכָה מְבָרְכֶיךָ וּמְקַלֶּלְךָ אָאֹר וְנִבְרְכוּ בְךָ כֹּל מִשְׁפְּחֹת הָאֲדָמָה:

When HaKal Kol Yaakov, Yakov's voice is light, Islam takes over with a distorted message that is dangerous to mankind.

Distinquished Rabbanim:

Our major Jewish Organizations have Washington offices.  Collectively our databases of shuls, Rabbanim and Yeshivoth  and members reach the hundreds of thousands.  Add to that the Kiruv Organizations and our outreach reaches the millions.  Add to that our Noahide friends and  that number reaches in the hundreds of millions.  We have many Print and Radio Media Outlets.

Surely, we can lobby Congress by using ammunition provided free of charge by Caroline Glick the esteemed honoree and speaker at the Hebron Flotilla.  As Caroline so eloquently pointed out, after 2,000 years we are finally back on center stage.   If we pool our resources there is no limit to what we can accomplish!  Let's get to it!

Our World: What the PA buys with American money

By CAROLINE B. GLICK

Other ammunition to lobby Congress are the PMW Bulletins. See their latest post! Demonization of Israel in staged bloody scene in PA TV program

These comments are reflective of my having lived in Hebron in the 1980s and are a direct consequence of the burning desire at that time to understand the Mitzvah of Shemittah
