This letter in on behalf of two Jewish citizens of Israel who are currently being held in solitary confinement under administrative detention.

Their names are Eviatar Slonim and Meir Ettinger. They are on a hunger strike.

What is their crime?
The State of Israel has no evidence that these prisoners have committed any crime.

In one week, the administrative detention of both Ettinger and Slonim will be over. However, there is great concern that Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon will sign an order to extend their detention for another six months,  without presenting evidence that they have committed any crime.

What is the reason that the State of Israel is holding these young men like criminals in solitary confinement together with Arab terrorists who threaten to kill them?

The Israeli government does not agree with their ideology.

Honorable Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Rivlin, Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, and Knesset members:  only repressive police states hold citizens without a trial or evidence of any wrongdoing  because they don't like how they think.

The judge ordered Meir Ettinger's continued imprisonment because "he has not changed his views."

Decent people, Jews and non Jews from all over the world demand:
Bring Meir Ettinger and Eviatar Slonim to trial for a crime, or set them free!

Some Israeli government officials argue that the Israeli government is within its bounds to keep these boys in jail, because it is within the law in Israel to do so.

The response to that is that every country has laws.
Communist Russia had laws legalizing the murder millions of "dissidents" in the Gulag.
North Korea has laws legalizing torture of dissidents in large concentration camps.

Just because something is the law, does not make it ethical.

The State of Israel should not have laws legalizing the imprisonment of citizens without evidence of any prosecutable crime.

Bring Meir Ettinger and Eviatar Slonim to trial, or set them free!
