Kennedy Confronted Israel Just Months Before He Died. Happenstance? Check out William Koenig Eye to Eye:

אל המקום אשר ..

Did you know that Kennedy confronted Israel just months before he died?

In 1963 the president pressured Ben-Gurion and then Eshkol.

He demanded regular inspections of Israel’s nuclear program.

He wrote them tough letters.

He warned them that United States support could be “seriously jeopardized” if they did not provide reliable information.

The tone was almost an ultimatum.

The highest tension came between May and August of that year.

Kennedy was assassinated on November 22.

Just a few months after the peak of the crisis.

Declassified documents confirm it all.

U.S. intelligence feared nuclear proliferation in the Middle East.

Israel tried to delay and limit the visits.

But Kennedy’s pressure was the strongest any American president had ever applied on this issue up to that point.

A little-known story…

Did you know it?
