This is not a surprise to those of us who understood that the Democratic party of today is a big bad wolf masquerading as Goldilocks Grandma. The Democratic Party of our parents has been hikacked and  is now the current elected governing party in New York. These elected officials, among them Hakeem Jeffries, Yvette Clark, Jumaine Williams, Kirsten Gillibrand aligned themselves with the likes of Linda Sarsour and Planned Parenthood. Many of us have been rightfully worried for some time. We worried  following the passage of the Iran Deal under Obama and Yeshivas saw an influx of freed up funds.  Was this blood money to buy our silence we asked ourselves?  Why didn't the community raise a red flag about these elected officials and candidates?   Were we hoping that our silence would allow us to live under the radar in peace? 

Going back in time why did State Senator Chuck Schumer have no time to study the Iran Deal to condemn it and fight it but rather occupied his time with Educational Funding and legislation? 

More recently,  why have we been silent when our State Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand aligned with the likes of Linda Sarsour and we didn't raise awareness that Chele Farley, the Republican candidate was pro Israel and a better alternative from a Torah perspective.

When Southern Israel was recently under attack by over 400 rockets by Hamas and only one individual was killed, and it was an illegal Palestinian not a Jew, did we acknowledge a Nes Galui? 

Did we question how Hamas had the ability to shower Israel with Rockets in the first place and why Israel  was so restrained following nonstop assault on its borders.

Why are we surprised at this Gezera? It didn't happen in a vacuum in New York.  

This Gezera is overt antiSemitism by the same leadership that wishes to Impeach Trump, condemns Israel and the IDF for defending Israel's borders and condemns  Israel's "Occupation of Palestine" which is their name for Judea and Samaria,Haifa, Acca and Yaffa. They advocate to bring in criminal and dangerous unvetted illegal migrants into America and to fund Planned Parenthood.

 This Gezeira has nothing to do with their concern to provide quality Education to our kids unless it fits their definition and criteria, basically their leftist indoctrination and textbooks. Our enemies know that infiltration of our education is the key for their success. 

 These are very dangerous forces that deceive and use pc language of human rights, human ethics and values, diversity and multi culturalism, women's rights, pro choice rights, rights of the oppressed (eg "innocent" kite and balloon terrorist Palestinians and criminal migrants) when they actually mean the exact opposite. Their agenda is quite evil and now we need to go on the offensive in a very harsh manner. The better alternative is to make Aliya.

Hopefully the Federal Government under the Trump Administration will clearly see that these new "educational guidelines" in New York is a blatant  violation of separation of Church and State  and imposes a Secular State Education and its accompanying values and ethics against the wishes of the parents. 

So long as religious education and secular education does not violate the laws of Basic Universal morality, which are the Seven Noahide Laws, there is no reason to impose excessive Secular education on religious schools. 

While requiring a level of fluency in Reading and Math makes sense, making it impossible logistically for religious Jewish children to pursue religious education  in the manner of their choice is contrary to the very principles upon which America was built by the Founding Father's.

Let us use the strength following Chanukah to fight evil decrees and nip it in the bud. 

Like the Maccabim, with Hashem's help we will find the strength to stand up for Torah and Truth and overcome!
