Thanking Hashem for the gift of the State of Israel......Rabbanim, if you can please read as well..Thanks. Airing out our differences.....

bs"d

Dear Readers, amv"sh

Thank you so much for your comments even though some were quite upset.  I was amiss in that I did not preface my remarks in the previous email with a statement of a tremendous Hakoras Hatov I have, and my family has and all of Am Yisroel including all Chareidim should have, in my opinion,  towards the State of Israel a gift from Hashem.  Because of my failure to do so, some of my remarks were misconstrued as negating the State of Israel. So I would like to clarify my remarks and set things straight. Thank you dear reader and friend that you honored me with your comments allowing me to respond and did not simply put me on spam and reject my future emails.

In response to you comments (see below)

The establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 came on the heel of the ashes of the Holocaust.   BeDamayich Chayee.  In your blood shall you live.  It was established by secular Jews and not Religious Jews by enlarge.  The State flourished and the Land flourished as it never had after 2000 years of exile. How can I not take notice?  After 2000 years of barrenness, the Land brought forth fruit as promised in the Torah.  Today and always, the holiness permeates every nook and cranny though often it is hidden to the eye also among secular Jews.

It came somewhat of a surprise when I received an email from you, a good friend who was very angry at me for assuming assuming I was attacking the State of Israel, and negating it entirely because I mentioned that the establishment of the State of Israel was flawed.  That's like negating Abraham our forefather for producing Ishamael.  Or negating our forefather Yitzchok for producing Eisav.  How is it possible that such a perfect Tzadik like Abraham and Yitzchok produce prodigy that did not stand up to their own high standards?

Our sages teach us that Abraham had the Middah of Chessed, kindness which taken to an extreme is bad.

Isaac had the Middah of Gevurah which taken to an extreme is bad.

Jacob is the integration of Chessed and Gevurah from which Israel descends.   Would I ever negate Abraham for having produced a Yishmael? Or Isaac for producing Eisav? Of course not, because to do so would be to negate myself.

Life is a process whereby man is inherently flawed and States which are born have inherent flaws.   Our mission is to recognize the flaws and try to the best of our ability to correct them and perfect ourselves.  Surely it was not my intention to degrade the State of Israel or what it has accomplished since it's inception.  For to do so would be as you suggest, spitting in G-d's face.

My purpose is only to recognize that perhaps the vessel of the Jewish people's aspirations in returning to our Land, known as the Modern State of Israel built on secular rather than religious and Torah law is reaching a crisis.  But this vessel was a beautiful vessel and served us well.  Inherently it was flawed so it can not last forever.  We all have a lifespan. The time has come to create a bigger and stronger vessel to accommodate not only the growth of the Jewish people but also accommodate the spiritual growth of humanity.

The Torah is the key.  By Torah, I am not referring merely to the Torah Shebaal Peh or the Oral Law of the Chareidim.  I am referring to the written Torah which is accompanied by the Oral Law which has 70 faces.  What unites all Jews is the written Torah and what allows us to express our individuality within Torah is the Oral Law.  Each and every group will emphasize and excel in their particular area of expertise of Torah and express themselves with the Halachot according to their particular Rabbanim, spiritual leaders and or community.  When we unite with mutual respect for one another,we raise sanctity in the world making it a better place and will hopefully succeed in being a Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation.  Please note that when I say "we" I am not only referring to religious Jews.  I am referring to all Jews religious and secular and all Noahides for whom the Torah (Seven Noahide laws) is their guide as well.

Perhaps I have a particular nature where flaws stare me in the face and I have the desire to attempt to fix. I recognize that the human experience means that we are all flawed and our mission on this earth is Tikkun Olam.     True one has to be careful as per how one addresses correcting another's flaw, that it should be done with love and in a way that can be accepted with love.  That's very hard to do and I too am flawed.... But then again, being flawed is being human.

The Rabbanim have been my shining light and have provided me and my children with a Torah education which I cannot express enough  Hakoras Hatov.  A well from which you have drunk do not cast a stone.

While I have not been shy in pointing out the flaws of the State of Israel, I have also not been shy in addressing the flaws of Rabbinic leadership who have failed to provide Torah leadership from the onset of the establishment of the State leaving a void thus leaving no choice but for the secular Jews to take over and set the tone for the modern State. (Thank you for pointing this out, see below,  and I agree with you completely) It is my personal opinion and many will call me arrogant for daring to suggest  that had the Rabbanim in the 1920's embraced the Land of Israel and the Balfour Declaration and had the Jewish people returned en masse to our Biblical and historical homeland when offered, the Holocaust would never have happened.  `It is also my opinion that the failure of the Rabbinic leadership to encourage the Jews to protect and settle the entire Land today especially all of Judea and Samaria, the heartland of the Land of Israel, will lead to terrible suffering especially to those in the position of leadership and influence.  It is painful to speak such words but having lived in Hebron, the spirit of Hebron and of Caleb and Joshua cry out for us to return as one.  It is for this reason I try to the best of my ability together with others to send emails and call and beg and plead the Rabbanim to take a stand for Eretz Yisroel and against the destruction of homes in Judea and Samaria like HaUlpana, Migron and Amona.

These efforts are not always welcome.  I am put on spam and many assume my motives is to merely degrade Rabbanim and Torah Shebaal Peh.  May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart
Be acceptable to you, O God, my Rock and my Redeemer

Very upset comments from a reader regarding a statement of a previous email where I wrote:

"Let us once and for all break away from Likud whose flaw originates with the establishment of the State of Israel. "

readers comment:  Had you thanked Hashem for the present of the State but attacked Netanyahu or any other party, that is one thing. Had you called for a new movement, that is fine.
But when you attack the establishment of the State, you attack the present Hashem bestowed on us in 1948.  Just as the generations after Yehoshua betrayed the gift of Eretz Yisrael, & just as the Davidic kings after David erred & sinned, you too are spitting at Hashem when you reject his present.  I do not receive emails from Kadimah & I don't want your emails.....

this email was followed with another email which said...

You have bought into the chareidi revisionist history that the State is not religious b/c of the Zionists.  Let's look at the facts.  The chareidim boycotted the Zionist project from the start leaving the leadership to the secular.  And the 1949 election was won by the non-religious b/c that is who came from Europe.
And who made up the majority of the fighting underground against the British?  While many were religious, most chareidim were not for the revolt against the British.  So left to the chareidim, we would not have a state today.

To the point:  why is the State not religious? b/c the majority of the people who came were secular both before 1948 & after. Do you expect secular to establish religious laws? In 1949, there were elections.  Why did the secular win? b/c they were the majority.  Where were the chareidim?   The chareidim love to revise history to prove their propaganda that it was the Zionists who made Jews non-religious.  Fact: MANY Jews in Europe were already not religious.  Had a majority of Jews been religious in 1948, the State would be religious, although I fear some chareidi groups would be closer to the Taliban in hashkafa.

Yes, it bothers me when I see Israeli youth mimicking American culture. And the Left have destroyed Israeli education with regard to nationalism & Jewish culture in the non-religious schools. Yes. That must be addressed.  But I won't sit here & point a finger pontificating that the Zionists are to blame when the religious boycotted the Zionist endeavor just as the chareidim are boycotting actions that are in Israel's interest today e.g. the army & teaching their youth professions.  The chareidi parties are simply bought off.
Nor will I spit at Hashem by demonizing his gift to us.  The gov't can be criticized & should be when necessary. But the concept of the State as Hashem's gift cannot.  This is what the chareidim do & despite your good intentions, this is what you did in your email and that is why I do not want any more emails from you.

Brainstorming for a new party - an alternative to Likud - a proposal - all comments welcome....

Rabbosai,  It is still not to late to rectify our Silence, our abstentions.  Let those who feel the pain of their fellow Jew take the lead and not be afraid.

Let us once and for all break away from Likud whose flaw originates with the establishment of the State of Israel.  The rejection of Torah dates back to 1948 by a secular Israeli gov't.  In order to rectify this flaw we must be a revolution and start clean.  We need a new movement or party that is the opposite of Kadima in the sense that it is nurtured by real roots and not superficial or just on the surface.

Let this party be called "Zocher HaBrit", remembering the Covenant between G-d and our forefathers, between G-d and the Nation of Israel.  The name will incorporate Jews and Non Jews.  It also represents all Noahides and G-d's blessing to Noah.  What blessing to we say when we see a rainbow? After the flood, G‑d promised Noah that He would never again bring a flood that would destroy the world. A rainbow is a reminder of this covenant that G‑d made with Noah, his descendants, and all living creatures. Therefore, upon seeing a rainbow in the sky, we recite the following blessing:

Baruch ata Ado-nai Elo-heinu melech ha'olam zocher ha'brit v'ne'eman bivrito v'kayam b'ma'amaro.

Blessed are You, Lord our G‑d, King of the universe, who remembers the covenant, and is faithful to His covenant, and keeps His promise.

It will remind the Jewish people to be faithful to the Covenant and to keep the laws and Statutes.

If Kadima came about albeit w/o real roots, why can't a new party called Zocher HaBrit be formed? The common denominator will be Torah Shebichtav and being that there are 70 faces to the Torah which is referring to Torah Shebaal Peh, all such legit laws, sometimes contrary to each other but respectful of one another fall under the category of Eilu Veilu Divrei Elikim Chaim.  All are words of G-d  Mi Shemaamin lo Mefached.  A believer is not afraid.

We can not continue under the umbrella of Likud and fall for more deception and lies and broken promises.

Sincerely, Robin Ticker

Re: Netanyahu "King of Yishmael"?

bs"d

Dear Knesset Members:

Yesterday, a fellow activist Ohev Yisroel, Nationalist right winger who sides with the Settlers of Judea and Samaria disapproved of Netanyahu being called "KIng of Yishmael"

Menachem wrote:
IMO (In my opinion) Wolpo in his statement deviates from the Issue of Shlaymut HaAretz to engage in counterproductive and unHalachic name calling. This cannot achieve anything productive.
Menachem

My response.

Dear Menachem, amv"sh

Allow me to differ with you.

Rabbi Wolpo really feels the pain of the Jewish families who are on the verge of being expelled from their homes.

Let me elaborate. "King of Yishmael".... Is this merely vindictive name calling or a reflection of reality?

IMO It accurately describes the situation as it is and serves to correct a distorted wishful perception. There is a Toeles for choosing these words, a purpose and that purpose is to present a reality to a clueless population in order to prevent another expulsion chas veshalom. It turns on a light bulb to get people to think.

Rabbi Wolpo chooses his words carefully.  Not merely to be mean and vindictive.   The message of Rabbi Wolpo is that Netanyahu has betrayed the Jewish people. His point is that Netanyahu and his administration are acting in the best interest of Arabs and not Jews.

A king by definition is a popular, benevolent ruler with absolute authority. A despot is an unpopular ruler who rules by force and by arm twisting.

Here Rabbi Wolpo attempts to correct the popular misconception  that Netanyahu is King of Israel, representing Israel.

Unfortunately the reality is that Netanyahu in cahoots with his self appointed cabinet and leftist Supreme Court, is acting like a despot with absolute authority on behalf of Israel's enemies, and has chosen to act benevolent to the Arabs.  In deed, he sides with Arabs, to effectively end "Jewish occupation" of "Palestine" aka Judea and Samaria. Menachem, sorry to burst your bubble. I too would like a benevolent King leading Israel but surely it is not Netanyahu.

Rabbi Wallerstein on Radio Hidabroot spoke about Pharoh's three advisors.  Pharoh asked them what to do about the Hebrews.  Astrologers in Egypt predicted a leader to emerge from the Hebrews that will bring the downfall of Egypt.  Bilam's solution, kill the Hebrew boys. Cast them into the sea.   Pharoh was happy with this solution.  Yitro opposed it.  Iyov said it's already 2 against 1 so I'll abstain.   Rabbi Wallerstein continued.  Iyov later in his life suffered immensely.  He screamed out in pain. Why did G-d bring this upon Iyov?  Rabbi Wallerstein continued to explain the Midrash.  Screaming really serves no purpose. The pain is still there with or without screaming.  This was G-dly retribution for not protesting for not screaming against this evil decree of Bilam. Even if he would not have been effective, he still should have protested because the situation was painful.  Because Iyov did not protest and scream against this terrible decree, G-d punished him measure for measure so that he would scream irregardless.

The Lubavitch Rebbe says, perhaps based on this Midrash,  that we protest because the situation is painful.

Whether or not our protest is effective is irrelevant!

Subject: Rav Shalom Dov Wolpe Founder of the Gush Katif Museum has harsh words and warning to Netanyahu

bs"d

Rav Shalom Dov Wolpo, founder of the Gush Katif Museum has some harsh words for Bibi Netanyahu on the eve of the vote of the Regulation Bill.  The GK Museum was established  not merely to document what happened to Gush Katif.  It's primary purpose is to prevent a recurring tragedy.

With the knowledge of the Gush Katif tragedy in front of us at all times, a strong rebuke will hopefully arouse the necessary awareness to prevent another similar catastrophe.  (Robin)

"In an unprecedented attack on Netanyahu, Israeli right-wing bulletin "Eretz Yisroel Shalanu" headlines  "Bibi King of Ishmael".

The article  reads as follows:

While the magazine "Time" Netanyahu crowned "Bibi King of Israel",  a few weeks ago, a right-wing publication, Eretz Yisroel Shalanu,  will be distributing a hundred thousand copies in thousands of synagogues and settlements prior to this Shabbat, crowning Netanyahu as "Bibi the King of Ishmael", and calls to fight for Judea and Samaria and and not to allow the storm troopers of Bibi to win on Givat HaUlpana.

In the the article, Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpe said " You Bibi, son of one of the greatest believers of Shleimus Haaretz (those in favor of the integrity of the entire Land of Israel and against Land for Peace) and a believer of  an all-out war on terror...You will offer your hand to the destruction of  Jewish settlement, and stick a knife in your late father's heart ob"m from whom you just recently parted?

Ok, Arik Sharon (there the wicked shall rot) was convinced he was king of the world, and obviously was not afraid to fight against the Land of Israel and to destroy blooming communities with a high hand.  But you've already seen what happened to him and you know where all his partners in crime are to be found, did it not occur to you that the curse "there is judgment and there is a judge" will also come to you in the near future?

"Listen carefully, Mr. Netanyahu: In the current situation, you and your government are the greatest enemies of the people and country. Not Iran, not Egypt, not Syria, not Turkey, not Hizbullah, not Hamas, None of them were successful in destroying the Land of Israel. Only you can, with the help of your fellow evil judges, and with a rubber stamp of Right Wing Ministers, both religious and haredi as one.

On Shabbat Naso (Torah reading of "Count the Heads") you lost your head with an official declaration of a civil war, whereby you impose an ugly military operation upon soldiers and police, and you force them to fight their brothers and their homeland.  So you are bad for Jews and will be remembered as such in the history of our people! "

Rabbi Wolpe also read to the residents of Beit El  the writings of Rabbi Zvi Yehuda Hacohen Kook, who said: "re: Judea and Samaria, there will be war."  and said. "You have been chosen by Providence to be the last dam before the ultimate destruction of settlements in Judea and Samaria. If you will leave voluntarily as the people of Gush Katif, it will be over for all of us. Please do not let the storm troopers of Bibi win. If you raise up the flag of our struggle, tens of thousands of Neemanei Eretz, those who are faithful to the Land, will stream to you at this critical time.

Letter of 10 year old girl to Knesset Members, Hunger Striking for Givat Assaf, Ulpana, Amona - fight for Regulation Bill, Women in Green, Mattot Areim, Prof. Paul Eidelberg

bs"d

Dear Knesset Members:

Please note that this is CC'd to Jewish press in USA whom I hope will publish this young ladies anguished letter! It is also being sent to many Rabbanim who bs"d follow the commandment "Al Taamod Al Dam Reiacha!"

From המטה העולמי להצלת העם והארץ e.ishelanu@gmail.com

מכתב של ילדה תושבת שכונת האולפנה לחכי"ם
Letter of 10 year old girl from HaUlpana to Knesset Members (translation in English follows)

My name is Aviya Margalit and I am 10 years old and live in the neighborhood of HaUlpana,  Beit El.

As is known, my home and the homes of one hundred and sixty children in the neighborhood are threatened with demolition. Same with my friends' houses in Givat Assaf and Amona.

Our houses were built on barren soil for many years, even after the houses were built, no one claimed to be their owner.

My house was built on land bought from an Arab, but suddenly another Arab came and claimed this as his land, and it has still not been proven he was right.

In the Supreme Court lawsuit, the State did not take this into account nor about the consequences and they probably did not have all the facts, and ruled that my house should be demolished.

Without going into the fact that according to real estate law,  in such cases, compensation is provided to the land owner, and it can not be that due to a government error the government can throw us out.

Talking about the construction of new homes or moving all the houses elsewhere, it reminds me of my brother who wanted to attach training wheels to the bike instead of fixing the flat tire.

Incidentally, I did not check all the houses in the West Bank, but Dad said that 9,000 homes are in the same situation of ambiguity and need a comprehensive solution, otherwise there will be a new law suit every day.

I'm not a politician and know that there are objections to the regulation bill, but I do know that after years of kombinot (not sure of translation, robin), we should stand courageously and allow for permanent regulation of  building in Judea and Samaria and stop the policy of the previous governments to repair  flat tires rather than paving a road with no holes. Such a solution can only be accomplished with legislation.

I know things are not as simple as I think, but I know you can not do justice by injustice. So I ask you, even if you disagree with the regulatory bill, don't be a partner to harm us and throw us from our homes from where we grew up.  If you do not vote for the Regulation Bill, at least do not oppose it.

Thank you very much for your time,

Yours, Aviya

From Women in Green:

This Wednesday - The Likud's Judgement Day

This Wednesday between 12:00 and 2:00pm- we will be there at the tent

This Wednesday, 16th of Sivan 6/6/12 the Regulation Law will be brought before the Knesset for voting. If the law does not pass - Givat Haulpena, Givat Assaf, Amona and many other communities in Judea and Samaria will topple like dominoes. Thousands of Jews will be expelled. The Disengagement Plan, part II.

It was unnecessary to reach this point, and this time Ba'Ga'Tz, the Supreme Court, are not to blame. The accusatory finger is pointing at Bibi Netanyahu, and him alone. If not for his weakness, he could have easily saved the communities.

We are all wracking our minds searching for what can be done. Some fellow activists have already started a hunger strike outside the Prime Minister's Offices  and a march and it is important to come and strengthen them. Other activists are preemptively making preparations to fight the eviction and it is obviously crucial to have a strong resistance to any and every eviction and destruction attempt.

But before we rally our resistance in the field - there is one more thing we can and must do: Bibi Netanyahu and the Likud ministers that will vote against the law or are absent from the vote, must be punished, politically, once and for all.

A statement must be made immediately, that if the Regulation Law is not passed on Wednesday - every true lover of the Land of Israel will leave the Likud party permanently. If the law is not to pass, it will prove once and for all that registering as a member of Likud was a terrible mistake that shattered the National political camp. The whole idea of "influencing from within" will be proven as wrong. The National camp gave Bibi Netanyahu 8 (!) mandates, yet he has no problem tearing down the communities in Judea and Samaria.

On Wednesday, if the law is not passed, Bibi Netanyahu must know that he is loosing all 8 mandates. Every true lover of the Land of Israel within the Likud, including Members of Knesset and Ministers who are loyal to the Land of Israel - must leave the Likud and form, together with all the other lovers of the Land of Israel, both religious and secular, one large party. Such a party could easily reach 18 mandates, if not more, and will finally present a true political power. No more "influencing from the inside" of a sick entity but rather creating one healthy movement that will represent the voice of the the Land of Israel, the voice of Zionism, the voice of sanity.

This Wednesday - we will all gather at the hunger strike tent from 12:00-14:00 (12pm-4pm)- at the time of the vote.

-The Likud: A Dead Man Walking

Prof. Paul Eidelberg

The Likud is a dead man walking, and no one can enliven that intellectually sterile party.  This means that political Zionism is dead. It died in May 1996 when Benjamin Netanyahu was elected prime minister and said his government would abide by the Oslo or Israel-PLO Agreement which the Labor Party had foisted on the nation in September 1993.

Unknown to the general public, Oslo presaged the establishment of an Arab-Islamic state in the Land of Israel, a state Netanyahu unlawfully sanctified on June 14, 2009 at Bar-Ilan University.  Let us probe the little known perfidious nature of the Likud via political Zionism.

It never entered the minds of political Zionists that the return of the Jews to the Land of Israel was to culminate in the construction of the Third Temple and the restoration of Jewish law.  The founders of political Zionism, such as Herzl and Pinsker, started from the failure of liberalism to solve the Jewish problem, but continued to see the solution in liberal terms, as a merely human problem.  As Leo Strauss has written:

The terrible fate of the Jews was in no sense to be understood any longer as connected with divine punishment for the sins of our fathers or with the providential mission of the chosen people and hence to be borne with the meek fortitude of martyrs.  It was to be understood in merely human terms:  as constituting a purely political problem which as such cannot be solved by appealing to the justice or generosity of the nations ...

Accordingly, political Zionism was concerned primarily with nothing but the cleansing of the Jews from millennial degradation or with the recovery of Jewish dignity, honor, or pride.  The failure of the liberal solution meant that Jews could not regain their honor by assimilating themselves as individuals to the nations among which they lived or becoming citizens like all the other citizens of the liberal states: the liberal solution brought at best legal equality, but not social equality; as a demand of reason it had no effect on the feelings of the non-Jews...

Only through securing the honor of the Jewish nation could the individual Jew's honor be secured.  The true solution of the Jewish problem requires that the Jews become "like all the nations" (I Sam. 8:20), that the Jewish nation assimilate itself to the nations of the world or that it establish a modern, liberal, secular ... state.

The political elite that led this movement succeeded in establishing a secular state, but they failed to solve the Jewish problem or restore the honor of the Jewish people. Political Zionism could not solve the Jewish problem because of the narrowness of its original conception.  This was understood by cultural Zionism, which saw that political Zionism lacks historical and cultural perspective. The community of descent "must also be a community of the mind, of the national mind; the Jewish state will be an empty shell without a Jewish culture which has its roots in the Jewish heritage."  But as Strauss points out:

One could not have taken this step unless one had previously interpreted the Jewish heritage itself as a culture, that is, as a product of a national mind, of the national genius.  Yet the foundation, the authoritative layer, of the Jewish heritage presents itself, not as the product of the human mind, but as a divine gift, as divine revelation.  Did not one completely distort the meaning of the heritage to which one claimed to be loyal by interpreting it as a culture like any other high culture?  Cultural Zionism believed to have found a safe middle ground between politics (power politics) and divine revelation ... but it lacked the sternness of the two extremes.  When cultural Zionism understands itself, it turns into religious Zionism.

The Likud never took an honest step toward religious Zionism, indeed, never understood what Zionism is all about.

The term Zionism is obviously derived from "Zion," one of the most sacred words in the dictionary of authentic Judaism.  Zion is the dwelling place of God's glory.  It is the Sanctuary of the Torah, the Holy City which surrounds it, the Holy Land of which Jerusalem is the eternal capital.  From Zion, from Jerusalem, the word of God—the Truth—shall come forth.

Viewed in this light, the Likud has been a small-minded party conceived in falsehood.  Consistent therewith, the Likud pursued the false and defeatist policy of "territory for peace."  It constantly deceived the nation by obscuring the truth about the implacable nature of Israel's enemies and the fatal character of the Oslo Agreement. The Likud remains a dead man walking while its leader, "a man without chest," continues to abide by that perfidious agreement.

Sincerely,

Robin Ticker
