Re: Shemittah Rediscovered and Western Wall Prayers addl comments

bs"d

Dear Esty, amv"sh

I don't think that my blog has much of a circulation.  Sometimes I think I'm the only one that's reading it and indeed one of my main objectives of the blog  is to keep track of what I am writing and use it as a useful tool .   I am posting  your letter for what it's worth.

As you can see there is no real advertising.  However, I am flattered by the fact that you thought it did have a wide circulation that would bring in money for your organization.  However, let me suggest you contact www.yeshabulletin.org that has a great news website especially for YESHA and it's created by Rivka Ryback.  Perhaps the two of you can work out an arrangement.

In any event, if you can actually get individuals, Torah scholars davening on behalf of Yesha for 40 days and publicize it, it would show that this group really cares for their fellow Jew even if they are not in the nationalist camp,  Even if the Jews in Yesha and their supporters don't send large contributions to your group of Torah Scholars since the the Yesha community is not the wealthiest group when it comes to shekels and they themselves are living on faith and are doing tremendous chesed among themselves and helping their own group to survive, it will be comfort for them knowing that you share in their pain and hopefully also validate their struggle. They have the zechus of  actually living many Mitzvoth of the Torah dependant on  the Land and agriculture.  They have the wonderful opportunity to keep, do and observe these Mitzvoth in addition to learning and teaching.   I wouldn't be surprised if many themselves join the Kotel group to daven 40 days for this cause. Based on the fact that Yesha residents are facing expulsion, prayer is on their minds 24/7, 365 days a year..

FYI In Hebron  I know for a fact that a group of women say tehillim on a regular basis (once a week) with names of cholim, shidduchim etc at Maarat Hamachpela. I know because I myself participated in it and there were pages of names regularly updated for addons and deletions according to the type of request. I don't believe that they get paid for it and the locals in the community provide the names. Many of the names are submitted by  their relatives, friends or neighbors and friends of their relatives, friends and neighbors.

Personally I believe that Hashem is giving Am Yisroel this window of opportunity to see if we will care enough about 350,000 or so of our fellow Jew and do something about ir or will we merely disregard what happened to the 10,000 Jews from Gush Katif and act as if such a thing never happened and can't happen to 350,000 people.

The only way another expulsion can happen chas vechalila is when the media and the left succeed in demonizing the hilltop youth who they portray as radical extremist, haters of  the State, who put up illegal outposts with no respect for the law and who are a fringe group with violent tendencies that wish to kill and murder all Arabs.  They represent them with a vengeance and  moral equivalence with Fatah and Hamas which is equated with evil and suicide bombers.  The public reading this distortion then equates the hilltop ;youth and all that they believe in, and those that justify their struggle as an evil group "worthy of expulsion". This analysis was suggested by Dovid Wilder of the Hebron Community.

If however, mainstream Jewry and especially a righteous group of Jews that daven at the Kotel, validates their struggle in Judea and Samaria and agrees with  the statement that each and every Jew has the right to settle in every part in Eretz Yisroel, this breaks the negative villification of the settlers and makes it much harder psychologically to go ahead with another expulsion.

Thanks for listening and I would be happy to hear your response!  I didn't go on your website because my computer's filter has a bug in it and at the moment is not allowing me on to any sites.  Hopefully this will be resolved soon!  Kol Tuv, Robin

Hi Robin,

I came across your blog and really enjoyed reading what you share, and am inspired by your strong beliefs in Hashem's Mitzvos and spreading their truth.

I immediately thought that a partnership between both of us might be quite mutually beneficial since our audience seem to be very similar.

Please read about our organization at your leisure:  http://westernwallprayers.org/fortydays/whatwedo.html

In short, we are a fund raising project for families and Torah-learning in Jerusalem. In gratitude for a donation, we pray on a person's behalf for 40 days at the Western Wall.  Located in the heart of the Jewish quarter, Western Wall Prayers is run by a Yeshiva family who seeks to provide a source of income to the struggling Jerusalem Torah scholars and their families.   We have helped 100s of people looking for their Beshert, people going through health problems, legal matters, family issues, financial distress and many others.  I'm wondering if your members might too want a little help from above by the Kotel?

As a charity, we don't have a lot of money to spend on advertising as we're donating a large majority of it.  But perhaps we can form an affiliate relationship where you would get 10% commission on all the donation that come from your site.  Would you be willing to try this structure for a month to test the waters? None of the leg work is required on your part as we would provide the banner, the tracking code and an ability for you to track the campaign from our affiliate software.

I'm eagerly looking forward to your feedback and regardless, keep doing what you're doing. It's a great blog!

Fwd: Kiryas Joel Mayor Sticks His Nose Into Mideast Peace Effort. Are they the Authentic Jewish Voice?

bs"d

Will anyone that is a representative of authentic Orthodox Jewry step up to the plate to refute Mayor Wieder of Kiryas Yoel Satmer please????

I suppose it's easy enough to ignore all the miracles that happened in 1967 up to the present regarding the number of casualties in relation  to the number of Kassam rockets being sent our way.  It's easy to disregard Fatah and Hamas close affiliation with Nazi Germany..

If we go in happenstance with Hashem then Hashem chas vechalila will treat us the same way.

I would challenge Mayor Wieder to backup this statement

"In fact, after the destruction of Israel in 69 CE, Jews were commanded to await divine redemption and prohibited from conquering the land.
"  Where in the Torah does it say this????

This statement is fallacious as well as his claim to being a Torah True Jew.  Everything Mayor Wieder says in this letter is against the Torah and an annulment of the Covenant between Hashem and the the children of Avrohom Yitchok and Yaakov who promises Eretz Yisroel as an EVERLASTING inheritance. Apparently Mayor Wieder doesn't pay much attention to these words in his davening.  He totally disregards Torah Shebichtav.  His words and intention are the opposite of truth and good.

Therefore, he is in good company with Obama who decided that the Land of Israel is for the seed of Abraham alone, based  apparently on the "truth".

Kiryas Joel Mayor Sticks His Nose Into Mideast Peace Effort

Abraham Wieder, mayor of Kiryas Joel, New York, wrote a letter last week to President Barack Obama, praising his "noble efforts" to stop the "senseless bloodshed" in the Middle East.

The letter was written in reaction to the anti-Obama rhetoric of some religious pro-settler organizations, which have become increasingly vocal in recent weeks as the Obama administration continues to push the Israeli government to curb settlement growth in the West Bank as a prerequisite for a peace settlement.

Wieder's letter reads in part, "Life is Judaism's most precious commodity; its preservation and the prevention of bloodshed are its more central tenet. When life is in jeopardy all commandments that guide Jewish life must be set aside in order to preserve human life. My heart therefore aches over the endless loss of innocent life just to hold on to lands inhabited by one's enemies. I therefore deeply respect and support you and pray that divine providence guides your every move.

"Some Israeli politicians resist relinquishing any part of the holy land, claiming religious prohibitions. This is wholly fallacious! In fact, after the destruction of Israel in 69 CE, Jews were commanded to await divine redemption and prohibited from conquering the land. To this day Jews yearn and pray for the divinely inspired return to Jerusalem... The modern State of Israel stands in contravention of the Almighty's prohibition. Its effort to cloak itself in religion as a means of continuing the contravention of the Almighty is laughable if it weren't so sad."

"This important letter comes at a time when many Jews in our community are upset over the militant Zionist groups who appear to be representing Orthodox Jews," said Rabbi Dovid Shlome Eckstein, a rabbi representing the organization True Torah Jews and a close associate of Mr. Wieder. "Our mayor is doing his job in expressing our sentiments, and we hope the President gets the message."

Half have signed! Likud MK"s oppose freezing in Judea and Samaria. Let's get the other half to sign!

bs"d

Friends, amv"sh

The ideology of Likud. which is consistent with our Biblical Heritage is that we have entitlement to build and construct in Judea and Samaria.   Thjs is  fundamental to Torah Shebichtav and Torah Shebeal Pech.  If you argue that tactically,  to say that we want a demilitarized Palestinian State is effectively speaking out against a Palestinian State because no State is really a STate without a military, nevertheless it  sends a distorted message of the Torah. Every utpost in Judea and Samaria is as legitimate as our own house and community.  One day Beezrat Hashem this outpost will be a thriving Torah community just like many of our communitiesstarted out small.  Each outpost is like a birth of a child.

If you are a Torah believing Jew and your words are backed by action,  please make the phone calls or faxes.  Yasher Koach!

To the caring Chareidi community who are involved in chesed 24/7 we ask.  Are we going to sit by silently allowing Gush Katif expulsions in Judea and Samaria?  Will we call tehillim rallies,  on the Matzav in Eretz Yisroel,  speak about Ahavas Yisroel on Tisha Baav or say that we share in their pain but do no concrete, hands on, Hishtadlus allowing this Likud gov't to implement another disengagement chas vechalila?? Decisions by the Israeli gov't is effecting all of us. At this very moment in chareidi communities like  Kiryat Sefer and Matishayhoo there is a freeze in construction because of these evil decrees regarding Judea and Samaria.

New: the Likud's 2009 Judea & Samaria letter!

Good news in the Knesset! 13 out of 27 of the Likud's Knesset Members have initiated the 2009 Judea and Samaria letter which strengthens PM Netanyahu vis a vis the brutal pressure of the Obama Administration. The letter can be summarized as: "The Likud has always supported natural development of the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. We strengthen you, Mr. Netanyahu, to withstand international pressures and allow construction to go forward in view of our right to live and build in our own country."

13 Likud MKs have not yet signed -- every one of us MUST urge them to do so immediately. The MKs who have not yet risen to the occasion are: Gidon Saar, Ruby Rivlin, Benny Begin, Moshe Cachlon, Silvan Shalom, Bogy Yaelon, Yuval Steinitz, Yisrael Katz, Limor Livnat, Yosi Peled, Micky Eitan, Dan Meridor and Ofir Akunis.

Your message to them can be as simple as: "Please sign the Likud's 2009 Judea and Samaria letter!" Feel free to write your own personalized appeal. We have assembled lots of contact information to help you. Click on the attached expanded version of this letter and you will find it.
